The Pretty Reckless

The Pretty Reckless is fronted by singer Taylor Momsen, who was a child actor and model, including notable credits in "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Gossip Girls." Momsen has always insisted that her first love was music, not acting, and, in 2009, Momsen shocked the world when she announced she would leave TV and film. The Pretty Reckless released their debut album, "Light Me Up" (No. 10; U.

They are a famous world band but made time to talk to me. Let me film them and take picks. At the end of the concert meeting Taylor, Ben Phillips and Jamie Perkins was so exciting.Talking to them made me realize their just normal people but really super cool their concert and music is so awesome. Been a fan along time and knowing Taylor is from my city is so awesome.love love love.

Yes, getting in was a disorganized mess, with nobody knowing where to go or what line to get into because of three tiers of tickets bought, and there was no help from the people in charge. Yes, there were delays in even getting in because of late sound checks and general disorganization. And yes, one of the opening bands was, as the singer himself said, the only thing in the way between us and the band we came to see, and were simply annoying to sit through and they never could seem to fix the singer's microphone being so low it was practically off. But when The Pretty Reckless finally did get out on stage, they rocked the joint like we all hoped. Them Evils opened the night, and did an admirable job, much better than the band that followed them. The Holy White Hounds were next, and showed that, despite some decent chops, they were hardly a band, more interested in jumping around and acting ridiculous than anything else. In fact, the only thing that kept me from a 5 star rating was this band, who I was just praying would leave. The Pretty Reckless, thankfully, made us forget the previous band. They came out strong, opening with 'Follow Me Down', and stayed strong the whole way. The band is tight musically and the sound was mixed well. Taylor sings with all she has, and has learned well how to command an audience. I have seen them five times since back in 2011, and although they have always put on a good show, the confidence and stage presence has skyrocketed since then. This is a quality group all the way around, and one that not only has grown in their songwriting and musicianship on record, but live as well. Of course there were songs I would have loved to hear from their released works that weren't included. 'Absolution',' Zombie', and 'Nothing Left to Lose' would have been nice, and why not 'The Devil's Back' or 'Bedroom Window', since they are on the new album, and are good songs? And hey, 'Only You' is great! Let's hear that one! I could have even easily done without a couple they did do in exchange for those. I would also love to see them incorporate some of those officially unreleased demo songs like 'Panic' or 'Superhero'. 'Blonde Rebellion' would sound great live. Just sayin' there. I think what this really means is that The Pretty Reckless are now a bigger band with a bigger catalog and a bigger following. As such, I would love to see them go to the next level in their concerts, and stay out there longer. As much as I enjoy their shows, that is my one complaint. Play longer. I'm not realistically asking for them to play Bruce Springsteen length shows, but a solid two hours would be nice. This one clocked in at 13 songs and just shy of 90 minutes. The Pretty Reckless are my favorite band of this decade, almost single-handedly helping keep alive real rock and roll. And they put on a great show. But please stay...just a little bit longer.

The Pretty Reckless put on an AMAZING show! I went with a friend and we waited in line for at least 2-3 hours but it was so worth it! I'm never disappointed in a Pretty Reckless concert. Taylor Momsen's voice is killer, and I love that she's gone a little harder with her music. The set list was great - good mixture of old and new stuff. Delmar Hall is a great venue. This was my third time seeing TPR live, and I can't wait to see them again.

The Pretty Reckless put the energy of an Arena Rock Concert into the Mayan Theater. This is the second time I've seen the band and this time the sound was great. Last tour they played the Wiltern and the performance was good but the vocals not loud enough. This time it was great and the show a real experience. Lead singer Taylor Momsen is a Rock Star, so rare these days and the entire band kicks ass. High Energy Arena Rock !

I love this band and have wanted to see them perform for awhile. It seems to me they just need more touring under their belt. The transitions between songs were non existent. It was just silence and dark and then a couple secs later they would start a new song. My first time at the Mayan. Lots of character

Sokol is always a great place for concerts and this was perfect for The Pretty Reckless. They listen to their audience so an intimate setting was ideal. The opening bands were also good. Holy White Hounds especially put on a great show, not necessarily my type of music (I particularly can't stand that Switchblade song!), but they do a great job engaging the crowd.

I drove up from KC for the show, 3 hours. When we got to Des Moines, I was a bit worried this might have been a waste. 7 Flags is a small venue, concrete floors and metal roof. In short, the acoustics are awful. Despite this, when TPR came out you would never know you were in a slightly modified airplane hanger. Full throttle rock from the first beat. Taylor Momsen has the ability to put everything into the show, and make your show feel like the best show. Also, of the acts out there, this wasn't the canned lip synced bull that you hear on the radio. This band is the real deal. My advice, if TPR is coming within 3 hours get in the car and go.

The good, TPR is one of the best rock bands to come along in a long time. Lead singer Taylor Momsen is getting better as she gets older. The band is tight and sounds fantastic. So why 3-stars, the band even after 3-albums and 1-Ep still only performs for about an hour. As an main attraction, that is unacceptable. They continue to play small venues that are general admission so if you want to get a good view of the band, you'll have to stand around for 31/2 hours to see a 65-minute show. I have seen them 3-times and they cancelled a show that the promoter would not refund ticket fees. Purchased a meet and greet VIP 2-years ago and you could not stand next to Taylor, you had to sit in chairs next to the band and they took the poorly lighted picture, and you could only ask a question if they spoke to you first. Many people complained so this year no more meet and greet. I did buy VIP again (I know dumb) and they did not provide a free download of the new record as promised and this time only a signed poster and bottle opener. During the show, security was grabbing cameras from people trying to take pictures, but allowing people with phones to record? I think TPR is going to have to start being better to their followers or they can keep being a great sounding band playing festivals and horrible venues like the house of blues.

The Pretty Reckless show at Revolution Live in Ft. Lauderdale on 11/3/16 was extraordinary. It was one of the best concerts that I've ever attended. Seeing my #1 Crush on the planet, Taylor Momsen, was the thrill of a lifetime. Every second of their performance was brilliant, from the first song ("Since You're Gone" or "Follow Me Down") to the encore (F**ked Up World"). Taylor in particular was electrifying, her voice was immense, and she is an incredible frontwoman. I was way beyond excited every second that she and the band were on stage. If you ever get the chance to see them live, please do so, because they're incredible, musically and visually. I would follow them on tour if I could afford it.

The pretty reckless put on an AMAZING, in your face rock show. Its dark and energetic. Taylor is a living conduit for the music. Watching her as she stands waiting to sing, you realize that she's actually building some kind of momentum inside, and when she lets it out, it's beautiful! As a long time hard rock/ speed metal fan, this is one of my favorite modern day bands. You're doing yourself a great disservice if you pass up a chance to witness them. Simply amazing.

I'll first review the meet and greet and then the show, since the meet and greet was pre-show. Meet and Greet: About 50+ people waited in line outside for over an hour for the meet and greet. There was a separate line of about 15 people who were radio show contest winners. When the host came to get us, he took in the contest winners first. It may be a trivial thing for some, but I expected the people who paid $100 for a ticket would be tended to first (at past shows, contest winners were seen as the fans who just got free tickets- not the extra-important VIP). When the paying fans were finally led into the building, the set up was just as I had heard it would be. The band was set up at an empty table, professional camera was ready on a tripod, and the folding chair beside the table was ready for each fan to spend 5 seconds in (no joke). We were herded through pretty quickly, but at the risk of being pushed along, I made sure to ask Taylor a question before I walked away in the single file line. I was honestly satisfied with the M&G only because I put in the effort to get a word in. There are no autographs, no conversations (but you can try), and only a single professional photo. If you're happy with the blink-of-an-eye photo session, a pretty plain t-shirt (no tour dates on it), a rubber bracelet, and a laminate VIP pass, then it is well worth your money. If you can't stand the idea of passing up a chance to sit a few feet from the band, then it is well worth your money. However, if you are hoping for a once-in-a-lifetime meet and greet, you should save your money for a different show. The Show: One of the few perks of the Meet and Greet was being able to enter the venue 30 minutes before the doors open for general admission ticket holders. I made a few friends while waiting in the M&G line, so we just chatted and watched Falling Through April's sound check. I had only vaguely heard of them, but Falling Through April put on an amazing show! They were definitely a great opener! Their frontman was super pumped and did enough grinding and hip thrusting to make Elvis blush (it helped that he was attractive). Adelitas Way was also pretty amazing and put on a show that any fan should DEFINITELY go see! Of course, The Pretty Reckless also had a fantastic set, with no lack of guitar solos. Taylor leaned over quite a bit to touch hands in the audience- I was one of the lucky few in the front row. They performed roughly a 10 song set, including an encore. Taylor was on point and ended the night the way Falling Through April began it- with lots and lots of grinding.

The band sounded great and entertained everyone. The opening bands were Louna and Heaven's Basement. Louna was a Russian band who sounded fantastic. They just need a break and I'm sure they could do well in the United States. Heaven's Basement are from England and also didn't disappoint. They're very much Rock n Roll and their guitar player was off the hook. This was the last day of the tour and Louna had a silent auction for their drum set. I was the high bidder and just want to tell the band "thank you."

Honestly, I came here to see Russia's leading rock band. The band Louna opened up with strong and clear sounds and amazing lyrics. The were outstanding! England's finest? not sure but they were great too! loud and fast, they just kept going! nice guitar solo's also. I am going too look them up online as soon as I get home! The venue was modern and clean. Built for Music, its acoustics were nice. I along with mostly everyone was probably upset with the stage, if there was one. I am over 6ft tall and had a hard time seeing the bands. The crowd masked the show, i was able to take pics and get only head shots. was a bid sad with this. Overall, I was totally entertained and would go see this combo, or any of the openers again

I purchased VIP tickets and was able to get front row between Taylor and Ben for the entire show. Taylor is so tall and slender on stage and seems like a sexy little doll, but she has a powerful stage presence. They came out and opened the set with "Hit Me Like a Man". Watching her perform was almost surreal. I sang along to every song they played. Taylor dedicated "Goin Down" to all the ladies in the audience and at one point I made eye contact with her during the song. She rode the microphone and flashed her belly ring. She dedicated "My Medicine" to the Hollywood Kills and told the audience "If you know it, sing along, if you don't know it, f--' learn it, cause it's not that hard." During "Factory Girl" she told everybody to put their cameras away and put their hands up and everybody was clapping along with her. They went offstage, and everybody chanted for an encore and they came back out less than ten minutes later. Taylor said something like "damn, you guys were waiting for us!" Taylor and Ben did an acoustic version of "Nothing Left to Lose" that turned into the original version (with electric guitar and drums) at the end. It was really beautiful. Taylor blew a kiss to the crowd and they went offstage. It didn t matter that she was playing to a little crowd, she kicked ass up there and completed owned the stage. After the show, I caught the setlist from in front of Ben's mic. After the show I got to meet them. The meet and greet was very strict and we weren't allowed to touch the band or get more than one poster or one cd booklet signed, but Taylor was very sweet and friendly when I talked to her! She liked that I was wearing one of their old band tees, promised to read the letter i gave her, and kept calling me "lady" when she talked to me. I only had about two minutes to talk to them, but it was completely worth it. I have heard some people say the Masquerade is a lousy venue, but for me it was fine. The Hell stage allowed me to be about five feet from the band the entire time. The fire gang was pretty good. I couldnt hear much of The Hollywood Kills's vocals for some reason (weird, because i could hear all of the fire gang and the pretty reckless), and i was about two feet from the speaker (close enough to reach out and touch it). I've also heard cameras werent allowed in the Masquerade, but no one was ever searched and security never bothered anyone. (It was pretty much "what security?") Also no one seemed to know about the parking situation in the lot next door so i never had to pay to park. The crew could have been more organized and informed us about VIP situation more than they did.

I think the problem was the fact that it took the same amount of time to set the stage as they did to perform. Standing the whole time was hell!! I hated it and was irritated by the time she came out! I wish she was more into her fans and embracing them. She seemed very entitled. She is one of my favorite artists and that disappointed me. She definitely had a presence that cannot be reckoned with! She is very talented and you will enjoy her performances. There were a lot of teenagers there which shocked me. She is way too sexual for kids that age. It should be 18 and up. She was defi0nitely amazing though!!

Overall, I thought the band rocked and the show was great; however, there were some problems. The band was scheduled to come on at 9:15 p.m. and play until 10:15 p.m. Instead, they came on at 9:30 p.m. and finished at 10:05 p.m. So, came on late and finished early. There were four or five songs on the band's own setlist that they didn't play. Also, Taylor catered only to throng of girls (mostly teenage) in the audience. And some of us were guys. Yeah, she's hot and also has a great voice, but does she wants to be a rock star or a Spice Girl? Otherwise, you can hear how much overdubbing there is on the record when you see them live, but they are getting better; i.e., less sloppy. Definitely worth seeing and will see them again next time they're in the area.

The Pretty Reckless sure know how to put on a show. Taylor Momsen may be young, but this young lady can definitely sing and entertain the crowd. I was in the very front and this venue is quite small, so you're right up against the stage and Taylor was wonderful with the crowd. She wasn't afraid to reach out and touch the fans and to invite them up on stage. I wholeheartedly recommend seeing this band. If you like their music, you'll love them live.

Do not waste your money on a meet and greet with The Pretty Reckless first and foremost. They did not want to give us a photo. Because everybody was so upset about it because we were not told prior to buying the meet and greet that no photo was included, we were reprimanded and talked down to by Penny. Then they agreed to do a photo with a crappy photographer who made every photo crooked and off-centered, but you could not even touch Taylor or even sit by her. It was not a meet and greet. Halestorm and Starset offered the same thing as The Pretty Reckless for FREE, so we met all 3 bands, but only TPR charged. Lzzy was a sweetheart, shook my hand. Halestorm sounded phenomenal. The Pretty Reckless sounded really good except for we had a hard time hearing Taylor's vocals.

Taylor was sick, and there was talk the show might now go on. But it says a lot about how much a performer really cares about putting on a good show when things aren't ideal. Despite the illness, she was awesome. We had a 20+-minute drum solo partway through, and I think that was to take some of the burden off Taylor without cheating the audience. And the drummer was sick--in the other way--so believe it or not, his 20 minutes solo was awesome. Adelita's Way deserves a ton of credit for the way they opened, too. Awesome performance

First.... the show was squeduled to start @ 8. I got there @ 10 of and the first band was already almost done. Aldeas Way was the hit of the show, really sounded good and like his cd. had lots of energy and presents. Pretty reckless was fair. I guess she was coming down with a cold and didn't feel good, so I would see again,

Opening act Thrash Midnight brought high energy to the stage and continued to demand attention throughout their entire set. I enjoyed their stage presence and attitude. Was very fitting for the following acts. Adelitas Way performed extremely well despite some technical issues towards the end of their set. They played multiple hits and juiced the crowd up for the headlining band. The Pretty Reckless came out on stage to Follow Me Down which was the perfect entrance to their set. They played strong the entire set and surprised the crowd with special intros and versions of their material. The drummer played an awesome 8min drum solo in the middle of Fucked Up World. I would highly recommend all three of these bands to anyone looking to see a great show.

The pretty Reckless didn't have much stage presence. I don't go to concerts to see a band with low energy lip syncing their performance. Taylor couldn't keep in time with her own vocal track. I kept looking to see if the band even plugged in their instruments. Wish I had read the reviews before buying tickets.

The only downfalls: Angry people in the crowd. The expensive prices for the drinks. Not being able to hug the band nor talk to Taylor Momsen in the meet & greet.

I have wanted to see The Pretty Reckless since they released their first album, and they did not disappoint! As part of the VIP package, I met the band, and despite her extreme illness, Taylor still looked FLAWLESS and she is beyond the sweetest thing. She is so nice and it is clear she loves what she does and she really cares about her fans. She is gorgeous, fabulous, and puts on an amazing show. I can't wait to see them again!!!!!!

This was my first rock concert and the music was amazing, it was the best concert I've been too. I also bought VIP tickets so I can meet my favorite band. But unfortunately Taylor was sick and we weren't aloud to talk to her so she can save her voice. Which I understand she wants to put on a good show and everything but i payed a lot of money to meet her and also I wanted her to sign my CD's but we were also not aloud to have anything signed. I looked at other meet and greets TPR had online and all of them they got to have whatever the want signed and also got to talk to them. It made my upset that I didn't get to talk to Taylor. Overall, I recommend this band to anyone because they are amazing

I want to start this off by saying I was REALLY excited to see these guys in concert. I'm a huge Momsen fan and I was really, really let down at this concert. I expected a live show like, I'm sure everyone was. Sadly, Ms. Momsen was straight up lip synching through the beginning of her concert. To the point where, her head was about two feet from the mike but we could still "hear" her perfectly clear. Eventually, she may of played a few live songs but by that point I was ready to leave. I had missed a really important event to see my favorite band but it was a really big let down.

I went to the show expecting a fast, fun, loud experience, and that's exactly what I got. Lots of energy (even though the lead singer was ill) and a great stage presence. The only caveat I would give to people visiting the venue in November is that Hampton Beach is all but boarded up, so if you're looking for a pre-show meal or drink, your choices are extremely limited.

Being of the musical arts I find myself always looking for the eccentric talents, true artist that bring it like no other can. Listening to a CD is great it truly shows a perfected product! But until you see an artist live then can you judge there talent with all fairness! Taylor Momsen in my opinion is one of the greatest female artist in my time, she has an amazingly soulful voice and her very essence is what rock n roll is all about! I expected nothing less and was hoping I was right, and was even more presently surprised as I watched a well perfected craft and collaboration take place! Well worth the trip from CT look forward to Ms. Momsens many albums to come!

We were informed before the show Taylor Momsem was sick. I think she did the best she could but the show was definitely not long enough (just over an hour). I was looking forward to an acoustic set and maybe some covers like I'd seen clips at other shows so a bit disappointed. Still think the band is great and has a rock sound we don't hear enough of in today's music.

What an incredible night of Music! The Pretty Reckless were Awesome. The Band was tight and Taylors vocal were howling! Very Impressed with the Band and how well they sound. Set List was great. Was very kool seeing them in such a small intimate place. I took my daughter to the Meet and Greet which was well worth the price. Got a Kool Pic with the Band and a very short chat with them that made my daughters night! Go see this band if you have a chance.
