I last saw Bobby Bland in 1965 at the height of his popularity and had already seen him 10 other times from 1962-1965. He is without exception the 'greatest voice' in blues and produced so many hits during eh 60's with such hits as, "Share Your love With Me" "Call On Me" but his epic 'Two Steps From the Blues' album was and still is the greatest blues album of all-time. He has lost some power in his voice but the deep, rich voice is still their and his sheer presence, even with limited movement dominates the room. I was hoping he would have done "Turn On Your Lovelight " and "Don't Cry No More" but the set he performed was still awsome. He sang so many of his great hits that it was more than I could have asked for for a man of his age and stature. The Lincoln Theater venue is perfect and fully restored can be a rebirth for great blues acts and performers of all types. I still get chills when i recall the evening I finally got to see the Master again and despite the many years that have passed since the first time I saw him in Houston with the Joe Scott Orchestra and Wayne Bennet on guitar and Al ' T.N.T. Braggs as the opening act, this show will be one of the most memorable ever.

This was my second experience getting to see Bobby "Blue" Bland live. The process of aging is becoming apparent as I look at him but he absolutely touched my heart! I was in the wrong place at the right time because of the night of his concert at Lincoln Theater, we "checked in" to the wrong hotel and his tour bus was there and everyone was unloading. My husband asked one of the band members if it would be okay for us to personally meet him and let him know how much we love his music. Of course Bobby and his Band allowed us to do that. It was beyond thrilling for me to meet him, touch him, talk to him and let him know I am one of thousands upon thousands who love his music and the message he tells as he's singing. His voice reverberates in my memory and in my soul and he's simply Wonderful! Please go see Bobby "Blue" Bland while he's still able to tour......I assure you, you will be touched in your soul too!

Bobby Blue Bland still got it and sung it well. We were up close and personal (3rd row), so we had great seats and could see everything. I did notice all the folks dancing in the back and I ain't mad at them, they were having a good time. The seats could have been a little wider for the larger folks.

the world's greatest blues singer is almost 83 years old and it shows in his voice. He can't hit the high notes with any strength, but still loves to be a showman. Lots of great songs and a good backup band. See him now as there may not be many tours left.

The show and venue were excellent. Bobbly still has it even fliriting at times. I enjoyed the show tremendously. I was there for his performance last year and hope to be there next year also. I also recommend staying overnight at ThunderValley. The rooms and service are great.

Bobby sure is getting old, but he is still lots of fun! He sang the hits people wanted to hear and got the crowd going by flirting with the ladies and having fun himself.

The concert was memorable and brought back so many memories of the days and times my Mom and Dad enjoyed his concerts. May they rest in peace. I had the perfect seat (front row). Mr. Bland can definitely hold his own and the crowd was overwhelmed by his presence. I pray his health improves as he's truly a living legend. His band should also be commended for a job well done. Thunder Valley thank you, now let's bring on more blues' living legends like Buddy Guy, BB King, etc.

The show and the music were great. It brought lots of memories to me and many other "mature" audience members like me. It's amazing that Bobby's voice is still as strong as it is. The setlist was good as he sang many songs (most) from the past, but I didn't hear my favorite " Today I started loving you again". All in all a terrific show.

Bobby was in fine vocal shape with all the charisma he's been displaying for 60 years. Band was top drawer! More Thunder Valley blues for the originals still performing (e.g., Bobby Womack, Otis Clay, Latimore, Millie Jackson, Bobby Rush, etc. !!

The show was decent but raunchy... It may have been more enjoyable without so much vulgarity. this is not a show that you can take someone to and introduce them to the blues. This is for 21 and over for sure. With that being said I'd go again and hopefully they would clean up their act.

Put me on a thrill ride of graet comedy and even greater music. Marvin Sease is still the candylicker, Latimiore is still the Silver Fox, and Bobby Bland still is as amazing as ever. Sir Charles was a mix between a rapper and a bluesman, very energetic kind of crazy, but with the soul of a man twice his age. The show was all in all, the best concert I've ever seen.

The H-Town Blues Festival was the greatest. The Festival started on time. All of the performers were great. The show went smoothly. There was not a dull moment. The announcer was funny as hell. He kept us entertained while they were setting up the next act. His jokes were right on point. The old-school-dance contest was great. The parking was much better this year. The organizers got their shit together. It is a much see for anyone that love the blues like I do!! The lines to buy drinks were not long this year.

Hey, Hey, the Blues is Allright!!! This is my 3rd year attending. This year it was "off the chain". Sir Charles needs to have a concert where he is the main event. He was simply fabulous. Bobby Blue Bland...keep on "kicking in your stall". Marvin Sease, hang on in there. Latimore, stay sexy. The only disappointment was Theodis Ealy. I understand he didn't have his band, but with all of tha talent on the stage, I'm sure they would have been able to keep up or cath up. Overall....Excellent show!

The event was fantastic!....I just wish the people in the crowd didn't stand up during the entire concert....Maybe for future events, the MC can ask everyone to remain seated so that we all can see the different acts. Other than that, the music talent was great!

It was an absolute pleasure to see Floyd Taylor, Marvin Sease, Benny Latimore, Theodis Ealey, and Bobby Blue Bland. I wish they all had more time on stage, but there were still two more acts to go. If one thing about the Blues Is Alright Tour that could change, it would be to have five acts instead of seven.

I saw Bobby Bland last year in Columbus and it was an incredible experience for me because I had not seen him since 1966 in Houston. Tonight's show was different. The opening acts were good, especially Floyd Taylor. I took my son and had great second row seats anticipating the Great Bobby Bland. I never thought I would say this but it's time for the 'Greatest Blues Performer' to retire. He only sang 6 songs and on 'Members Only' it was sad to hear how off his voice was. The power is gone and that is expected from a man 80 years old but even in a year his voice has diminished. I saw Bobby Bland perform about 15 times between 1962-1966 and remember the great performances and hits and the shows with Al 'TNT' Braggs and the Joe Scott Orchestra so it is sad for me to say it's time for 'THE MAN' to say goodbye. My son who saw him for the first time said, 'Dad, he is awesome". So Bobby Bland still has the magic to influence a new generation.I hope God gives Bobby man more years and know that your music was a powerful force in my life and know one will ever replace you. You are the King.

I really enjoyed the music however I didn't understand why there were so many comments about white people in the audiebnce. I did not like all the crotch grabbing either. The blues are about the music and telling a story. I felt like those 2 things just lowered the professionalism of the show.

The 2010 H-Town Blues Festival was a spectacular event. Everyone, from Floyd Taylor to Mel Waiters sounded wonderful. The show was high energy especially once Theodis Ealey and Sir Charles Jones took the stage. Of course, the highlight of the show was Bobby "Blue"Bland. I took my mother, who is only a few years younger than him, she was wowed! She used to go to his concerts in the 50's and 60's, and hadn't seen him since!! I love Latimore and Marvin Sease. Because of time constraints, i was unable to get a picture and autograph with Latimore, which was the only disappointment of the night. Floyd Taylor's performance was so reminencsent of his father's. Johnny Taylor was my favorite singer, so seeing his son perform in his honor pacifies me a great deal!

Absolutely outstanding! My first ever blues concert and I was "blown away" by the remarkable talent and unmatched showmanship by these artists. Too witness B. B. King and Bobby Blue Bland on the same stage doing an impromptu set was truly historic. B. B. and Bobby Blue culminated a carefully built crescendo of music created by Bobby Rush, Benny Lattimore, and Clarence Carter. It was wonderful!

the overall event was great....the atmosphere, the performers, & the crowd. the one complaint i have is that the main artist many came to see turned out to be a dud..... i have seen sir charles jones at many events and have always found him to be a awsome performer always giving a great show. but last nite was rediculous!! being from ms you would think he would want to uplift the crowd but instead he seemed arrogant.... kudos and thanks to all the other performers! cant wait to see you again soon ;)

This was my first time seeing Bobby perform...yet I knew the man was in this element. It was an experience I'll long remember. I know now especially...an older man can still deliver the blues. It was the true nature of Bobby and he displayed it well. Timing, storytelling, intonations and that knowing look reached that place in me where only the blues can dwell. Bobby showed us his range...his talent with the blues has a way of evoking feelings, memories and need.

The warm up band was masterful and really got the crowd going. However, what came next was a band that was boring and although they seemed to be accomplished musicians I didn't like their music and I felt captive as I didn't know or expect this. In other words I hated them. Bobby was incredible, but the "mixer" didn't do his job very well. I was in the fourth row and sometimes I could barely hear.

Loved the opening act ... they really got everyone moving! The Wave ... the 2nd act ... made people leave ... however, they came back for the "main man". Bland still has that "voice". We booked him for high school and college parties way back when ... and he still has that same "smokey, velvet voice" ... even with age. His band was fabulous!!!!! We thoroughly enjoyed his performance!!!!!!

What an amazing show!! Bobby "Blue" Band was awsome. Due to his health, he sat throughout the show, but that did not detract at all. He still has it. I was glad to see him perform just in case it does not happen again. To all fans, if you can, go to a show. Percy Sledge showed that age has made him more marketable. He appeals to a wide audience. The voice is still there. Midnight Star--what can I say. They know how to energize a crowd. They still have it. The MC-Mr Lee--what a WAY TO GO. I would definitely go to a show he was participating. AWSOME!!

The show was enjoyed. Things I think might need to be improved on; 1. Start on Time 2. Sound checks done hours prior to start of show Also, Midnight performance was just a tad bit too long - however Percy Sledge and Bobby Bland save the show - good job. Would I go see them again YES!!!

The concert was moved from 7:00pm to 5:00pm to start with but the doors did not open until 5;40pm because of the bands doing sound checks. So my wife and I (age 68) had to stand in a very crouded loby for over an hour waiting for the doors to open. There were sound feedback problems throughout the concert. Too much Mr. Lee, the MC and not enough profesional work by the crew. As for the music, the opening act ( Denise Lasalle who did not show up as advertised) was a good singer from Chicago and a young man that had a very good voice. Midnight Star was ok....too much rap type music for a R & B concert. Percy Sledge was great and it was his band that stole the show. Bobby Blue Bland also had a veery good band and he was wonderful.....EXCEPT for the clearing of his throat sound he made duiring every on of his songs. He has phyiscal problems and that may add to his trouble but still id did distract from his performace.

Bobby Blue Bland's band was tight. They sounded great and his voice is still very smooth. The only drawback was a throat clearing noise he had to make several times during the show. Percy Sledge's voice is still very strong. You can tell that he is having a great time on stage. The sound crew had a lot of difficulties throughout the night and had the volume on the organ too loud. It kept competing with Percy's vocals. Midnight Star was very energetic and did a good job of getting the show started. Mr. Lee was extremely entertaining as the MC. He is one heck of dancer!

Bobby and Midnight Star were great. I had preordered tickets for a 7PM show, and arrived about 5:30, when the show, which was rescheduled, began. It was by accident that we arrived in time. Thank goodness, as the tickets were pricy! Denise LaSalle was not in the lineup, but Midnight Star did a great job. Percy Sledge was not good; his voice is gone, and the band totally overpowered him and the two backup singers. I would recommend another show, especially at the Roanoke Rapids Theatre. It's a great place.
