I have been to many many Steve Wariner concerts in the past 30 years but this one was amazing!! His energy level was great! He was really ready for a show, he played the audience wonderfully and everyone responded. I was very impressed given the fact that Wariner had recently lost his mother to a battle with cancer and this was one of the first shows he had done since such a family tragedy, but he was on top of his game. He played his older hits as well as his newer songs from his tribute to Chet Atkins and added in some Dotty West and Bob Lumen as well. The opening act, newcomer Matt Dame, started everything off on a high note. The audience was truly impressed with his songwriting and performance!

Three opening bands, two of which were boring, delayed the show. Steve Wariner did not start playing until 11:15 pm. He was great but after sitting there waiting for several hours we were ready to go. We left about 12:15 am and the show was still going on. I would have preferred one opening band and then the main act. The concert was on a Friday and after a long week at work, it was just too long of a concert.

Steve Wariner still has the same sultry voice that I loved hearing in the 80's. His songs bring back so many wonderful memories! Love it!

My husband and I had seen Steve Wariner perform at a private company executive dinner in Nashville about 10 years ago and he was wonderful - one of my favorite country artists - and we had our photo taken with him that evening. We still have that photo framed in our home and it was really good to see him again and he sounds even better - his first time at The Birchmere! He is great as a soloist onstage and also shines when his band joined him onstage. The crowd had brought all his albums to be signed and he was very gracious and accommodated everyone after the show - really a nice man and talented songwriter as well.

Steve Wariner played an array of songs that span his career as a singer, songwriter and someone who enjoys jamming on the guitar. The back-up band is very really good and they seem like a fun group of guys. It was clear the majority of the audience were long time Wariner fans. Wariner even commented on how responsive and interactive they were. However, Wariners behavior fluctuated between humble pie and cockiness and he cut the night shorter than one would have expected from an audience that appreciative.

Steve Wariner is awesome! The show was great, and the Birchmere is a wonderful place to go to a concert. The food is good, room is cozy, creates a much better atmosphere than a big concert hall or arena. Definitely will go back to the Birchmere!

I've seen Steve Wariner five times before, but this show was the best!! The intimate setting, along with a fabulous set list made this an unforgettable show! Steve has a great stage presence and really interacts with his audience as well as his band members.

Grammy award winning musician Steve Wariner admitted he had never played the famous Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. But after seeing him and his tight band perform there, I'm sure he'll be back. Steve is a world class guitarist, first rate singer/sonwriter. He also is a fantastic entertainer to boot.

Steve was at the top of his game vocally and instrumentally. It was a real treat to be there. He is obviously a really nice guy. The supporting musicians were also excellent.

I am so glad that we went to this beautiful concert! The whole concert was sheer bliss to us, with Steve being so real and honest, his true nature was right out there! His guitar playing was second to none (except Chet Adkins himself)! The songs he wrote were as real an experience as his performance; We both savored the entire experience of hearing Steve and also his band (who were really having a good time up there).

Never have I seen an artist who is so genuinely excited and happy to be performing for people and making music. And the music he makes is incredible. His voice is smooth and never twangy, his guitar skills are without equal and he is a country artist whose singing and talent can be appreciated by anyone, not just country fans. I would see him again any chance I get.

As a Steve Wariner fan for over 25 years, I was thrilled by this laid-back, small venue, minimal band, concert. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE "Linda, Do You Wanna Dance?" with the hot electric guitar solos and drivin' full band, but this was equally enjoyable. He managed to meld mellow with high-energy and produce magic! Seriously, even the Steve Wariner classics were hot with only three addt'l band members. Steve seemed very relaxed and spontaneous...felt like we were sitting in on an impromptu jam session! Also loved Steve's stories and tributes to Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed. True class act!

Steve Wariner is a great entertainer, both singer and guitar player. I loved his instrumental renditions. I wish there had been CD's available in the lobby after the show, I wanted his tribute to Chet Atkins.

Steve was absolutely fantastic!! He was very entertaining and did so many of the songs we love! His talent is obvious, and so is his down to earth charm : ) The warm-up band Firefly not so good. They sang and talked way to fast to understand

I have loved his voice for years. Seeing him in person was exciting! Steve stood at the front of the stage with the mike and his guitar and sang his heart to us. His voice is beautiful and he now is the most awesome guitar player around since Chet Atkins. His arrangements were amazing and his guitar playing unbelievable!! He gave the feeling of being the kindest most talented star of today. He made you clap and sing along as well as cry when he sand Holes In The Floor. It was a very enjoyable evening spent with Steve Wariner.

The best concert I have seen in a really long time! I love the smaller venues for a concert anyway because you really get a more personal experience from the artist. Steve rocked the house with his wonderful voice and excellent guitar playing. I think he was genuinely overwhelmed with the response from the audience.

For those of you who may have missed the Steve Wariner concert in Chandler on Saturday, I wholeheartedly recommend you take a note not to miss Steve's next concert in Arizona. He is such an amazing vocalist, songwriting talent and guitar player! His idol and mentor was Chet Atkins, so that should tell you most of what you need to know right there. Steve had many, many country hits and appears to have been overtaken by the younger hat acts of country music, but is still such a joy to listen to. His guitar licks are great and his scatting just adds another dimension to his music. He also connects so well with his audience. Download "I Got Dreams" to hear a sample of some of his good stuff and then visit his website or head out to your local music store to pick-up a Greatest Hits album for starters. You definitely won't be disappointed. The song "Sails" may be harder to come by, but is absolutely beautiful, as is "I'm Already Taken" and "Holes in the Floor of Heaven". But Steve Wariner can get you moving with the fast songs just as well as the ballads. I urge you to check him out! I've been a fan for years and you should start now.

Saw Steve Wariner an a wonderful, small venue, the Chandler Center for the Arts this past Saturday Night. It was an intimate show with approximately 250-300 fans and Steve didn't disappoint. The show had three "acts" with one being a review of Steve's greatest hits, the second a guitar tribute to Chet Atkins, and the third a number of songs Steve has written for other artists. The show had great timing, no wasted space, and Steve was enthusiastic and passionate about his performance...despite such a small crowd. He was a real professional.
