Girl still has it going on after all this time. The characters we've come to love were right there. Lily responds so well to her audience and shared some of the back ground about how certain characters came to be. Thanks for a great evening filled with great memories.

She's so beautiful, so thought-provoking, artful, edgy, comforting, charming and just plain real. The house was packed. I bet we all thought what I did: that she was playing right to Me! We really needed a laugh. Lily Tomlin delivered to satiation. I realized something i didn't know before: I really do love her.

It was great fun to see Lily at the Balboa Theater. She was GREAT as expected. I was in loge seating row E and I wish there would of been side screens displaying her so I could of scene her facial expressions up close. I really couldn't make out her face from those seats . When I go to the theater again I will bring binoculars. Lily performed most of her popular characters and it was a real treat to see them all again. It was great to see how she brought them forward with modern issues. I consider Lily one of the classic entertainers, her shows are funny and clean. Other performers should take note that you can be hysterically funny and not have a potty mouth. I would see Lily again if lucky enough to get the chance.

Lily did not seem to be at her best for this show. She came out dressed in sweats, sweatshirt. Her hair was a mess and just did not seem to be into it. If you are a big Lily fan, then this was probably alright with you. I was expecting a little more and maybe even some costume changes and several skits, which never happened. Not sure if I would recommend this to someone else. I certainly would not see the show again, especially with the high price of the tickets.

Lily presents herself on stage in such a normal fashion only to do the extraordinary. I was thoroughly entertained with her candid observations of every day life with a twist of her persona attached. Lily is truly original in every aspect of her performance. At the end, her Q & A was just as much fun and equally telling of who she is and her roots. Loved her!!

I did not enjoy this at all, found that Ms. Tomlin played mainly her old characters in a overly-rehearsed fashion, and never really spoke to her audience. I was prepared to laugh, wanted to laugh, and have loved her for years. Instead, it was stiff, not fresh, and clumsy. I still love Ms. Tomlin to pieces, but may enjoy her in the future on video.

She said it herself last night (mockingly, of course): "I know what you thinking: 'She's still very attractive. She's so celebrated. Her life is so much more interesting than ours.'" It's incredible how she can take a simple stage, no costumes, no makeup, and breathe life into so many wonderful characters we've enjoyed seeing her play for decades. What a talent.

No one like her --ever, never. Her rambles are riotous. She trotted out our old favorites and infused them with hilarious new stuff -- and some of the golden oldies just for fun. A night with Lily is always worthwhile, belly laughs, chuckles, giggles and remembered smiles. What a time we had.

Wonderful show! Lily was just as funny as she was in Laugh In! And as energetic as a five year old -- Edith Ann must help keep her jumping !! She is pretty, tiny, fit, and adorable! Thank you to "her people" & Lakeland Center's "people" for being SO VERY cordial and accommodating with the special Birthday wishes & backstage meeting & pictures for a huge fan !! Lily, what IS your secret to looking so YOUNG ?! Is it laughter?!?!?!? Thanks a million !

The Lily Tomlin performance was amazing. Her intimate, personable style made a performance to a full house feel like an evening with close friends. She skillfully turned a problem microphone into its own comedy routine. It felt like an intimate evening with friends rather than a performance to a full house.

Lily brought some of our favorite old friends to this concert. I especially liked the transition of Ernestine to a Health Insurance Claims customer support. Some of the old one line jokes are a little thin for the wear. The newer ones are not as sharp as they probably need to be for the current environment. We are used to meaner and tougher comedy and Lily is gentle. She did insert some peaks behind the sexual-orientation curtain and, some of the audience members gasped, probably since they wanted to operate under don't ask-don't tell policy. It has occurred to me though that Lily has an opportunity to show that early recognition that she was gay and, thereby, debunk the thinking that people select their sexuality. Overall a gentle, enjoyable, thoughtful performance that assumes that anyone who came to see her was reuniting with an old friend(s).

It was a very intimate performance. There were times when you could sense her anxiety over performing. She was funny, as expected. The show was not high energy, more low key story telling. She really forgot to do her switch board operator character until the very end of the show. She did about 5 minutes of that character then. Very enjoyable and personal.

Lily hopped onto the stage and went non-stop for two hours. She performed dozens of monologues about her childhood, her family, her early years in show business, and the like. Woven into these were moments with your all-time favorite characters -- mostly from the days of Laugh-In. Many of her jokes and comments made you stop and think -- and some have stayed with me still. She cared about the audience, referenced local places and events, and made me do so much more than laugh. As I stated earlier, I came away THINKING about life quite a bit. She also took questions from the audience before the show (cards in the lobby) and, as an encore, answered about ten questions.

I really loved Lily Tomlin, The only thing I would have changed is she started out with all the characters. Witch was very very funny. But I found myself a little bored at the end. If she mixed it up a little more it won't have had any dry spots in it. Overall I was so pleased that you brought such Funny ,Exciting and Exceptionally Talented Lady ( Lily Tomlin ) to The Kirby .

I saw Lily about 10 years ago in NYC and was completely blown away at her energy, sense of timing and her ability to draw upon every emotion in the pot. This time, in a smaller venue and ten years on, she appeared as fresh as ever. So much fun, you just want to take her home!

Maybe my expectations were too high, but I was disappointed in the performance. I have not been to stand up comedy before. The stage setting was so stark and looked lonesome--just black and white. I would at least liked to have seen her in the big chair when she did Edith Ann and a set up switchboard . Also, we were a few minutes late in arriving and were seated in the back row ( until the intermission-they said) there was no intermission and we stayed there the whole time. The ushers never came to take us to our seats. I did not appreciate that.

This was the first time that I had seen the show. It was great. I guess that she is what you think that she would be. Very down to earth. Interacts with audience members. Does all of the characters that you would expect, and very well I might add. She is a very funny lady and I think you would really enjoy the show. In a theater full of people it still seems like she just sat down to have a chat with you. I loved it!! Had never been to the Paramount Theater in Illinois, the theater itself is simply amazing!! Beautiful!!

This show was a gift to my Father and it was the best gift we could have given him. Lily made him laugh the whole performance. She was vibrant and very animated and oh so funny. It was great to see her and if she comes back into this area I would take my parents again . My Father who normally falls asleep early, being in his mid 80's never dozed off which in my book shows Lily Tomlin was indeed a success in my eyes as well as my Parent's . It was a wonderful performance and well worth the time and price of the tickets. Loved seeing Edith Ann and how Lily rolled on the stage floor acting like a small child to be the character... She truly is a great comedian and has a wonderful stage presence. She interacted with the audience brilliantly, right down to the few over-anxious fans who loved shouting out comments to her. Laughs all around. She made two hours just fly by and made all of us feel like we were friends with her. Her comedy routine touched on many of todays topics and she did it in such a funny way. I loved her routine with Ernestine, as the claims department operator for a medical insurance company....her jokes really ripped the issues we face today.Lily is indeed a true performer and such a gracious lady. She still has her youthful appearance and to me seems not to have aged at all and that was echoed by my family who also attended. Thank you Lily, for giving my Dad and Mom as well the gift of laughter. We love you!!!

Such energy from start to finish. Handled well the few less than courteous, interrupting audience members. Great regional oriented chat at the beginning was entertaining. But, it's the show itself that knocks it out of the park. So well-written and beautifully presented by a real pro. Despite some breathing problems (she used her inhaler at one point) she was so full of energy and fun. Just love her. What can I say?

What a performer. What a performance. We felt special getting to see this incredible long-lasting woman doing her creative thing. During some parts of her evening she reprised characters we know and love from the past - Edith Ann, Ernestine, Tess/Trudy. And videos of many others requiring makeup changes too challenging and time-consuming for a live performance. The whole thing was was just too awesome to miss - so if you get a chance to see it, please please treat yourself. After the performance, she stuck around to chat with the audience - real give-and-take, back-and-forth; not the usual "Q and A" .... The best thing about Tomlin is that her humor encapsulates a truth, touches her audience in some way well beyond the laughter. Theatre is fantastic - the renovated Balboa Theatre is small enough to feel almost intimate compared to larger, impersonal venues. Well located, easy parking 1 block away (Horton Plaza). Great restaurants immediately across the street.

Took my 25-year-old niece and was afraid she might not enjoy show as she was born long after Lily's iconic days on "Laugh In". We both loved the show and my niece posted this on Facebook, "Smart as a whip and spry as ever." We were amazed by Lily's physical comedy and ability to move with such fluidity throughout the show. She inspired us both to work on our flexibility. Lily's humility, heart, creative thinking and perfect comedic timing made for a memorable show and evening. So grateful she has been recognized as a Kennedy Center Honoree. Lily is a national treasure! Thanks for coming to San Diego.

I can't believe how incredibly funny she was. I laughed from the moment we sat down until the time we left. I also could not believe what great shape she was in. She sat on the floor & then bounced right up again & I can barely do that & I am not in my 70's. She was hysterical & I would recommend this show to anyone. I can't wait for the next season of Grace & Frankie to start- Yay!

I thought Lily performed a very odd show. The audience couldn't tell what was real and what was planned. She first did a lot of one-liners, and the audience laughed so long that she had to interrupt the noise to start the next one-liner, so often I couldn't hear the start of one. She wandered around the stage like she was lost, had a coughing fit and had to sit down and drink water (perhaps planned, but not funny), often said she forgot her next line, or that she was sitting there attempting to make up a joke. She didn't use ANY costumes, and didn't do her "little girl in the big chair" routine, which was always one of my favorites. I think the show ran on too long because of all her hesitation and breaks, and I left while she was reading and responding to letters. Quite honestly, I expected better from her.

I was really looking forward to seeing Lilly Tomlin. Unfortunately, the performance was not as I hoped. Lilly seemed confused. She lost her place when telling a story and would try to start over and she would do it again. Lilly kept repeating that she forgot this was her last show. I don't if this was a joke or a realization that she shouldn't do standup anymore. The questions and answers section afterwards kind of redeemed her.

It was very nostalgic, but I expected more. Therefore the disappointment. The production was a little less than professional as the regular producer was ill and a fill-in was running the show (disjointedly). Therefore the production was second rate while the price we paid for the tickets were still first rate. Over the years we've seen Lily on Broadway many times so we know what level of professionalism to expect for our $.

In the world of comedy there are those that are just joke tellers and then there are a few that have a command of the stage, Lily Tomlin is in total command. At age 76 she is a butterfly on the stage moving all around from her chair and table to a stairway and all over the stage it self. She moved from one caricature to the next with ease and grace. The story telling is at best warm and wonderful with a scattering of jokes added in. I only hope she stays around for many more years to bring joy and laughter to us all.

Went to see Lily Tomlin with 3 friends, all old enough to have a full appreciation of her career. Honestly, she just wasn't that funny. I very much like Lily Tomlin in her many personas, so I went to the Carolina Theater expecting a fun evening. While there were certainly some very nice moments, her timing seemed a bit off and many of the jokes were older ones that I had heard before. I am a fan of her new show, Frankie and Grace, and feel she is very strong in that show. I hope she continues to perform, but perhaps she needs to update her material a bit. Particularly given the ticket prices.

We felt the ad was misleading - it looked like an evening with Lily Tomlin, and it turned out to be a fund raiser for an animal rights group. This was a brutal night. As a lifelong LT fan and lover of her new show, I was shocked that this was a show about animal cruelty with very vivid content. Didn't really care for this event. When I bought the tickets, I thought that this would be a concert by Lily Tomlin. In fact, this was a benefit for a great cause - which was terrific. But it wasn't at all what I thought I was buying tickets for and to be honest, I felt slightly misled by this website who made no mention of any other people participating in this show. This was a panel that played games associated with animals. Also, there were auctions that were happening...which is when we decided to leave! Lily was wonderful and truly enjoyed her show. Venue Not so great! I felt that the venue was lacking. Seat were right on top of each other. I say next to a woman who was spilling over into me chair. She also had on strong perfume which rubbed off onto my clothing. The camera and sound technicians seemed challenged. Lily was fantastic in spite of the venue. The Tulalip Resort and Casino is so ghetto, they set up a bunch of chairs in a banquet room and forgot to put the batteries in the sound system. Poor Lily had to truly project her voice for us to hear, but she pulled it off. Tulalip needs to hire someone who actually has a background in sound systems and entertainment if they want to offer this caliber of entertainer.

Show was entertaining; Lily was spot on. No costume changes, so when she changed character it was either prefaced with a short video (old, old footage) of her character or she would give a brief explanation. Not your typical stand up comedy show, more of a string of one liners, and a plethora of stories / anecdotes from her life and career as well as some character monologues. One very big distraction was the "audio problem". There was no technical issue but her mike was set low and the audience would have to strain to hear what she was saying. I can only guess she does this to keep crowd noise down. However her audience is more towards the elderly side and with no assisted hearing devices made available many in the audience near us could not hear her very well and were constantly asking, "what did she say?". The Q&A at the end was very entertaining, and some updated takes on some of her old characters such as the telephone operator, now an insurance health care reviewer, were absolutely hilarious.

Lily was wonderful, but the sound system was bad, and the venue was problematic, a flat floor, and the "stage" she was on was so low you couldn't see her except on the projection screens. Might as well watch her on TV. Being in a casino might have explained one apparently drunk woman that kept interrupting her to try to get an autograph. I don't Lily enjoyed being there, although we, the audience, LOVED her. Of course.

Started in a timely manner. Hilarious from start to finish. There was sound issues that through her off a bit but only because she told us, so nothing we noticed except for a couple feedback throbs.

Lily was fabulous! Venue was terrible. Seats we had gave little view of this amazing performer.

Lily's performance was fantastic. Energetic, creative, thought provoking, hilarious. Unfortunately the sound quality was not. She commented to the sound man about the issue from the stage several time and they responded "working on it" but it was never resolved. Unfortunate.

Lily Tomlin is getting older, but so is everyone! Her show now is not as much about new material and characters, but remembering and revisiting some of our favorites (Ernestine and Edith Ann!) gave us such a good feeling. We have enjoyed Lily since the Laugh In days so many years ago. Her humor is as fresh today as it was then.

Not impressed. Kept forgetting her train of thought. A little off color but not as bad as other comedians we have seen. For the most part I found her not that funny. She used to be a great act.

Lily Tomlin never fails to make me laugh, I thought it was an absolutely fantastic show (although a lot of people got up and left in the middle of it, which I thought was strange and pretty rude. She didn't seem to step into any outrageous or controversial subjects.) She was amazing and I would see her again in a heartbeat. On top of that, the staff were very kind and helpful. My only complaint, was the sound. Being a sound engineer myself, it was some of the worst sound I've heard for a show like this in a long time. Tons of feedback and way too much reverb/delay is really difficult to listen to for 2 hours.

Lily was fantastic absolutely no question she was the best. The venue not so much it was to spread out to wide. Even she had problems with the setting. The many big screens were distracting

It was so great to see Lily on stage. Brought back memories of Laugh In. Her characters were so clever and hilarious. I do hope she continues to bring her performances to more small venues. Makes it feel more personal.

Lily was excellent. She was funny, engaging, politically current without being offensive, and thoroughly entertaining throughout the evening. The night just flew by. I will happily attend any future performances.

Disappointed. I was designated driver so I couldn't drink enough to make her routine funny in my head. Like most of the people that laughed. Soung system volume was very low for some reason. For that reason alone I will not be back to the casino.

She's still sharp and witty at 75! She sat on the floor and got up without a problem, and with ease. Love her!

The sound system was poor for a live comedy show. Sound had a fuzziness and buzzing along with a low volume level at beginning. Noise was corrected about 20 minutes into show, but a very low volume level most of the time. Disappointed with Lily's choice of comedy sketches. Laughed more with her film clips than the live act.

She may not be a spring chicken these days but she's still as funny and agile as ever! We loved watching her bring her characters to life again while sharing her own personal stories. Great show!

i did not enjoy the show at all. Very disappointing. We all remember Lily from her routine on Laugh In, and anxiously awaiting her to perform her old acts......which aside from a 2 minutes skit , she did none of it. At age 75, I could not understand how she is trying to make a name for herself with stand up. Her acts are what we all went to see her for!

I think Lily was great. However, I also think the audience in Pa., where I am from, was not sophisticated enough to understand the intelligence behind the humor. I found myself laughing at parts that I understood and thought was funny when others where sort of looking around with a lost look on their faces. Being well versed in theatre and recognizing the level of performer Lilly is, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
