How cwould two unique musicians be better? When they meld so well together! Their new material is excellent and their interpretation of previous works were glorious. Jon lost his voice on a couple of songs, but he did not lose his enthusiasm! Looking forward to getting their new CD!!

This concert was unforgettable! These guys are older now, but they can still bring it! They were at the top of their game and their bandmates were stellar! The show lasted nearly 3 hours (with a short break in the middle). Every song was excellent. I have never given so many standing ovations at a single concert. We had front row seats and it was simply magic!

I haven't seen JL Ponty for 30 years! I was not disappointed. I have seen Jon Anderson many times in the last 10 years and never has he been so full of energy with a big grin, his voice in awesome shape and a kick ass band to boot, best concert in a long time 2 and 1/2 hours too! The tour is over, hopefully they'll tour again soon, don't miss it!!!

NOt only was his voice as amazing as ever but he played the songs on a few different guitars and even played the keyboards. And you just wanna hug the guy. YES should be ashamed at the way the handled Jons illness. YES can have their clone but I will never see YES again without JOn singing. And last night what I witnessed was beyond words that could do him any justice. Bless you Jon anderson

Jon is looking and sounding healthy (albeit rather thin). So good to see him back onstage, and BB King's is a great, intimate venue to see him. 3rd time to see him there inlcuding his last visit with Paul Green School of Rock. Such a shame that he and YES are both on the road but separately. Surely they could slow down their schedule to accomodate him. I couldn't bring myself to go see them this time out without him. Fingers crossed for reconciliation.

Jon Anderson is a gentle, vibrant soul with a heart as big as all outdoors. His voice is still in great shape after all these years, his spirit is fresh and alive. The audience was in love with him last night, and you could feel the energy in the place--all positive and heartfelt. The venue was perfect for his songs, intimate and inviting. His short takes on Yes songs gave them a new slant that made them interesting to hear, without all the virtuosic bombast (not that there's anything wrong with that!) of the band. It was like hearing the old familiar songs for the first time. This concert couldn't have been a better experience!

He was so amazing to see live. Even after all these years, the clarity of his voice is flawless. Great venue, great atmosphere, great performance. I would recommend Jon Anderson solo as a must-see!

Though looking a bit fraile - JA was absolutely amazing when he began singing any and all of his various acoustical renditions. His voice was strong - clear - and historically angelic. Also loved the mix of songs and his humorous stories. Phenomenal

I thought the show was great, but I'm biased, as was probably every one in attendance. There wasn't much that was different from his last solo tour, some five years or so ago (some minor set list changes, but still had most of the standards you'd want to hear). And that's OK. I'm not going to see something new or groundbreaking. Jon's lyrics and music have been an important part of my life for over three decades, and whether he's touring solo or (fingers crossed) is back fronting YES: I'll be there. There aren't many acts that can create special moments (even goose bumps). But when Jon sang "should I remember every sorrow deeper than the wound? as all this happens far too fast, and night time comes too soon", it hit home. There are some things happening in my life that now, with clearer vision, I see I have placed undue focus on. Thank you Jon, for your wisdom. My first time at Showcase Live. Nice venue; the sound quality was excellent. The crowd was very receptive. I'm sure the majority have been to many a YES show, and it feels almost like you're welcoming home a family member who has been away for a while. I hope his health issues are now past him, and he'll continue to make new music and tour.

Back from injuries and illnesses that would kick most of our butts into submitting to retirement, Jon Anderson is a spirit that burns bright. The voice was as strong as ever and the show was polished with creative new material and memorable stories full of humor.

When Jon walked on to the stage, I was not sure what to expect. With all he has been through, we were worried that his voice would have suffered. Not so. He nailed it. I loved the set list, which relied less on his Yes days than I expected. He did sing most of my Yes favorites, The parts of his solo work ranged from Vangelis to Olias and Deseo.. This is a plus for me. He was warm and really responded well to the audience. I am thrilled he is back.

Jon's shows are always unforgetable. His voice was exquisite! I'm so glad he is feeling better & touring. I thought Jon's show in Hamilton on Saturday was better than the show Wed in Toronto. Jon seemed to have more pep in Sat's show. Jon is a very talented man & no one can top his voice. I could go to see Jon's show every night of the week. YES is not YES without Jon. Jon, thanks for the hug & kiss!

Went to see Jon with my 20 year old daughter, my older brother and his family, Jon Anderson put on a great show!!!! He performed some classic Yes songs and Jon looked happy to be there. He looked like he lost some weight from his illness but it did not take away from his performance. His voice sounded great!!!. I really enjoyed hearing him perform some new songs. They rank up there with his best songs. To hear him sing, Sweet Dreams, Time And A Word, You And I, Long Distance Runaround, Sharship Trooper, exerpt from Tales, I've Seen All Good People, Soon, Roundabout plus so much more was awesome. His banter with the crowd as usual created an easy laid back atmosphere. He created a really nice atmosphere before he came on when they played nature noises similar to the opening of Close To The Edge. Jon has to be one of my favorite singer songwriters of all time. I hope to see him in concert again!!! Long live Jon Anderson!!!!!!!!!!!!

A fairly low key affair but Jon still has the same voice that he has had for his whole professional career in my opinion. I cannot think of anyone from this era that still has the voice that made them famous to begin with. I have a hard time saying anything negative about Jon and all he does he is so full of life and still puts on a great performance. His instrument is his voice and he is aware of that and said as much so don t come expecting any mind blowing instrument playing. He can hold his own for sure but in a perfect world really need his old band mates to put on a top shelf show as I have seen in the past.

Jon Anderson's music took on a whole new vibe solo and unplugged. Just that voice and guitar, and those incredible songs. His wonderful personality shone through. It was very personal and intimate. He is a great showman, a pure spirit and a real nice guy. The guys seemed to especially enjoy it - an opportunity for them to get in touch with feelings they're not usually comfortable getting in touch with?

After the show, I said, "I think I'd go to see Jon Anderson perform Yes songs no matter who was backing him up, before I'd go to a "Yes" show without him." Now... that's really a blanket statement, because a "Union" concert with the current Yes line-up plus Wakeman, Rabin and Trevor Horn would definitely get me to go... but that will never happen. My point really is that it was such a joy to hear Jon Anderson singing again, and singing very well, it just made the whole night for me. It's been 16 years since my last Yes concert... and I enjoyed ARW in 2016 more than that last Yes concert in 2000. The stylistic differences between the 1970's material and the songs from 1983-91 created a schizophrenic concert experience. But considering that some of the classic 70's material is like 3 songs in 1, with sometimes jarring tempo changes, it's all unmistakably YES. Opening with the Grammy-award winning rock instrumental "Cinema" then launching straight into "Perpetual Change" might seem like an odd pairing, but it worked really well & was a great start to the show. Jumping from 1971 back to 1983, with the arena rocker "Hold On," I was impressed with how good this sounded, having last seen this song performed on the 1991 "Union" tour (which, as fans know, was the only Yes tour to include Rabin & Wakeman). The show pretty much continued with the pattern of hopping back & forth between decades in which the songs were originally released. It is admirable that Rabin & Wakeman put their own spin on songs on which they didn't originally perform. But, even though I'm definitely a Trevor Rabin fan & 90125 is my favorite Yes album, I definitely missed Steve Howe's presence on some of the older songs, especially "Roundabout." I was very happy that they included "The Meeting" from the ABWH project, with just Jon's singing & Rick's piano. It's simply a lovely song. While not that much of a low point, the only song I did not really enjoy was "Lift Me Up." I love the studio version, but, unlike Jon's voice, Trevor seemed to be having some trouble with both hitting the notes & singing the right lyrics.... certainly the result of 22 years off the road. Lee Pomeroy was terrific on bass, and his 3 looped parts accompanying his own lead in his performance of "The Fish" was not only great in its own right, but a wonderful tribute to Chris Squire. On a light note... I wonder what's the vintage of that cape Rick Wakeman wore.

These guys are amazing and better than the band that now calls itself Yes. I've seen Yes (and the various combinations of Jon Anderson's bands) over the years, and this was probably the best in the last 20 years. A great variety of songs from the extensive Yes catalog. Also, the Toyota Oakdale theater was a fantastic venue for this show.

We were very excited to see the "real" YES with Jon Anderson singing. As far as I'm concerned, these bands that keep on touring without the lead singer, as the reformulated band YES has been doing, are basically cover bands. The guy can sing as well as he could back in the day and Trevor Rabin killed it on the guitar. Not a huge crowd, but a very enthusiastic, excited one - people were really into it.

These guys were in top form. Everybody played their hearts out. They played a lot of their good songs, the meeting, roundabout. seen all good peole, owner of a lonely heart etc. I had a great time except for the people behind me were rude and would not stop talking throuout the whole show, I had a hard time hearing what Jon was saying at times due to these people rudely talking and also the guy behind me whistling so loud my ears hurt at the end of the show. But the band was great, it was nice to see them live again, it sure brought memories back from the old days!

Overall 6 of of 10...I'm a life long Yes Fan- I'll start with what was Good, The bass player did a great job with the task at hand and outstanding way of performing The Fish studio verision live by playing along with a live loop. Jon sounded great and really just seeing Jon sing Awaken for maybe the last time in my life was worth the ticket and the trip itself. On the downside, Rick seemed a bit lazy..He could have done a bit better filling some gaps..In particular, And You and I, Signature guitar parts were just abandoned and I thought Rick could have covered for Trevor as Trevor had covered some with Piano in the past. The Cape could have been a nice touch to throw on for a throwback for a solo or one song but the whole show seem a bit mocking the "Stage clothes Era". I thought Trevor was a bit lazy as well with some parts left out of Awaken. Also, no Video Projections at our show and no acrylic drum sound screen didn't help combat the horriable room sound. I don't think I'll attend another Rock Concert in a "Cave type" venue again. Sadly, I was most impressed with the "Hired Hand" bass player out of the whole event. Would have been nice to see some pics of Rick projected during "The Fish"..I didn't stay till the end, it wasn't worth fighting exit traffic. This was my 7th time seeing Yes alumni over 5 decades.

I am SO appreciative that these guys got together and went on tour. They are part of my life. With that said, the sound was not as good as it could have been. I do not mind the loudness but it was not mixed well and Trevor's guitar was way too dominate. Rick's keyboard were not loud enough as I wanted it more powerful. I think it goes back to Steve Howe really does not use distortion pedals and Trevor does and it greatly changes the dynamics of the band. Even the vocals were drowned out at times. Drums were very great, once or twice too loud over the keyboards. I love it so much that my guys came. But I expected and hoped for better, bigger sound. I must be use to Rick's solo stuff and tours, but I just felt he was just the keyboardist in the band when he really should have been, somehow, more at the forefront. Maybe it was that Trevor's guitar drowned him out. BTW, Rick, we need a solo....big time. Bringing back the Six Wives version from the 73 tour would have made everyone crap their pants. Also, a BIG tanks to Trevor and Rick for coming into the audience. THAT is the highlight of any show. PLEASE come back soon!!!!!

I always hold my breath when I attend a show featuring a "seasoned" performer who's been in the game for many years. Has his/her ability to sing been compromised? Does the person fail to enrich his repertoire with fresh creativity? Are new works of the same quality as beloved classics? To my delight, the talented Jon Anderson was able to captivate his audience as much today as he did 45 years ago - giving the crowd the opportunity to hear well-known melodies as remembered, but with some innovative touches, too. He also generously (and wisely) showcased the skills of his fellow music mates. Jon's unaffected and warm repartee with the audience helped create that sense of intimate atmosphere one feels when sitting around the house jamming with a few friends who simply share a love of making good music. Wonderful, memorable evening!

Sometimes you go to a show and magic happens. This was one of those nights. I did the VIP Meet and Greet (which, other than meeting Messrs. Anderson and Ponty in person, was a bit too commercialized for my taste). Neither of them are youngsters any more... But then the show started, and magic happened. Jon's voice is still stellar, and capable of making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Jean Luc's violin prowess is legendary (I first heard him on Elton John's "Honky Chateau" album), and he's still dazzling. Ponty's backing band is a force unto itself, and they handled the Yes and Jon solo tunes masterfully. Jon even had some very kind words to say about the late great Chris Squire. I'm so glad I went to this show. I'm sorry if you didn't.

Lots of music from the eclectic background of both performers, as well as new releases, made the concert memorable. I had seen Jon Anderson a few times on his own, and on many occasions with Yes, and he was his usual bouncy self. This was my first time seeing Jean-Luc Ponty live, and I'll admit it was difficult dredging up memories of his music from the past, but his performance was wonderful. I liked the sound they came up with, especially on the familiar Yes-tunes. The band was incredibly tight, with a number of excellent sections of intricate rhythms and melodies, and the drum solo was fantastic. The mix was a bit uneven: too much guitar and not enough vocals and violin from the two headline namesakes, but the concert was still enjoyable. The one thing I didn't like, which had nothing to do with the performance, was that the room is inside the casino. This meant having to wind through the noise and smoke of the gambling areas, and waiting on the border of the same for the doors to open. Once inside it was no smoking, so it was just waiting to get started that was the issue.

Although my musical taste has moved on, both artists have significantly impacted my musical ear. I figured this combo was too special to miss. Glad I went. Wow. Jon Anderson's vocals were stellar, even after becoming hoarse. Jean Luc is the most amazing musician ever. I saw him in the 70s and his music is as mesmerizing as ever. I could listen to him play forever - and do at home. And the synthesis between the two styles totally worked. The band was full of fantastic musicians and I loved how each was showcased. Jon Anderson and Jean Luc Ponty along with their band were in a word - sensational! Being a long time fan of both artists, I had high expectations for this performance and they did not disappoint. Jean Luc was in fine form and very energetic, and Jon Anderson proved that he still has his signature voice, but it was much more than that. I call it Above and Beyond because of the time, effort and focus that obviously went into the planning and rehearsing for this tour. Their recently released CD covered about half of the show, yet they still had the prowess to put together a full 3 hours of fabulous music performed at the highest levels. These artists work very well together, they shared the spotlight equally and they both seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely. In a time when the overall quality of music may have slipped a notch, it was extremely refreshing to witness such great musicianship. Lastly, the band was formed from musicians of Ponty's groups from the past, who are highly skilled and played with the type of energy and enthusiasm that sent this show over the top.

Being both a Yes and Jean Luc Ponty fan, I looked forward to an evening of excellent musicians backing Jon Anderson's beautiful voice. Wasn't disappointed until very late in the show when Jon's voice finally gave out. Fortunately for him, the Phoenix show was the last stop on their current tour. The show was surprisingly long, about 2.5 hours, not including the intermission. The first half was made up of most of their current CD, and the second half explored each of their libraries a bit more. Ponty got to stretch out a little on his Enigmatic Ocean and Renaissance. He's a marvelous fusion violinist and played off his other bandmates. Jon opened the second set with a recital of the leading poem from Tales From Topographic Oceans and added a simple version of Long Distance Runaround a little later. Just a couple of minor criticisms: Their drummer, Raymond Griffin, is extremely talented, but we recognized that just a few minutes into his drum solo. All those other additional minutes of drumming were kind of gratuitous. And I can't quite decide if Time and a Word was really ever meant to presented as a Reggae tune, but tacking Bob Marley's 'One Heart' on to the end helped it out a lot. The overhead screens were nice. Problem with those was that the video was just slightly behind the actual sound, so out of sync. No good excuse for that. All in all a wonderful evening of music presented by outstanding musicians.

The Anderson Ponty Band is a collaboration between Jon Anderson, formerly the long time lead singer for Yes, and Jean Luc Ponty, an electric violinist with roots going back to Frank Zappa and a long and illustrious solo career. I was in the 5th row. On the side in front of Jean Luc Ponty. Both men have seen many moons as they would say in the Salt River Indian Tribe, whose land Talking Stick Resort is located. But the talent has not diminished one bit. Mr. Anderson can still hit the high notes easily and Mr. Ponty is still the premier jazz fusion violinist he always was. To say that I am a fan of Jean Luc Ponty is to vastly understate my appreciation for his talent. I am in AWE. Seeing Jean Luc Ponty was a life goal I thought I would never achieve. This is not to take away from Mr. Anderson either. I have ALWAYS been a fan of Yes and have seen them several times as far back as the early 80s. Jon Anderson is THE voice of Yes and he always will be. He was there for some of the most important music/songs of my life. Yes, as I am sure is the case for many people, was a major influence in my musical appreciation. Progressive Rock, and Jazz Fusion are, in my opinion, where the really GREAT musicians have been for the last 40+ years. Mr. Jean Luc Ponty is one of those. They started the 1st half of the concert playing material off their debut album, mixed in with some Yes material and a little bit of Ponty s solo material. Interestingly, Ponty s music never had lyrics, but Anderson, with Ponty s blessing, wrote lyrics for some of Ponty s pieces with very good results. It fit and unless you knew the music, you would not know there was 30 years between the composition and the lyrics. I don t have a set list and I don t know the names of the songs off the new album, but there were a couple recognizable Yes songs such as Long Distance Runaround and Wondrous Stories. The drummer had a very memorable and long solo in the first half in which he played at least 10 minutes with everyone else off the stage. The first half consisted of mostly upbeat and fast paced pieces. I really enjoyed the second half considerably more. The mood changed drastically. This was where the musicianship really stuck out. All the songs were very laid back and all the musician had their chances to shine, especially Jean Luc Ponty. I was in awe of his ability as I have always been, but to see it live was just such an honor. Most of the 2nd half was focusing on Jean Luc for the most part and I loved it. The Bassist had a long solo that eventually morphed into the opening notes of Roundabout. That picked up the energy and everyone stood up and sang along. That was the last song except for an encore. Thank you Mr. Anderson and Mr. Ponty. You did not disappoint.

Not knowing what to expect, my wife and I were gobsmacked at the show. It truly was a "bucket list" adventure. The featured Jon Anderson singing some timeless Yes classics and Jean-Luc Ponty playing music from his work of the 70's and 80's. They also have an album coming out of the Anderson/Ponty Band and that music really fit the bill. For those of us that got to see it, it was a truly memorable evening. Breathtaking. I would see it again and again.

I have been a Yes fan since attending my very first concert at Anaheim Stadium in 1976 and from the their laid the foundations of what would become my favorite band of all time. Jon Anderson is the voice of Yes and the vocalist most endearing to my heart. His style, harmonic sound and inspiration will be forever lasting. The combination of Jon Anderson with Jean Luc Ponty was all I hoped it would be. The arrangements, extraordinary musicians and overall sound soared and I was completely taken in. To Jon, "Thank You" so much for putting this great sound together and I look forward to the next encounter. Many blessing to you and your band....

My thoughts.....the Saban Theatre is an incredible venue! Outstanding acoustics and sloped Seating made every seat "perfect!" Jon Anderson & Jean Luc Ponty were outstanding! They played their new album in it's entirety as well as many other YES classics, with a decidedly jazzy twist. The band seemed to be enjoying themselves as they played two sets and an encore! Two hours on stage and the crowd enjoyed every minute, with several standing ovations! Jon and Jean Luc appear to be a "perfect match!" I hope there will be more magical music in the future from these two great artists!

Both Jon Anderson and Jean-Luc Ponty have been delivering love for our ears for decades. Along comes a brief tour that literally combines the two artists into one. Incredible doesn't do them justice. They were Monumental. Jon's signature voice and Jean-Luc's superb violin made for a night of pure Heaven.

The best concert I have ever been too! I bought the CD and listened to their new work and struggled alittle to hear the two genres mixed. In other words it was hard for me to hear vocals on my Jean-Luc Ponty songs and hard to hear Violin on my Yes songs.........so with an open mind we headed off to the concert trusting 80 years of their cumulative experience! Wow........we were blown away at the masterful musicianship of all of the members of the band and this band is so good LIVE that is difficult to capture the music, and the emotion on a CD.......These guys are incredible together and since I have always loved these two artists independently for years to have them share a stage was actually an emotional experience and one of the best concerts I have ever been too!

What can I say? I'm still livin' the high of seeing this show. I started going to Yes concerts in the 1970's and this felt just like coming home, like I had just seen Anderson singing last year instead of it being MANY years since I'd seen him last. I am happy to say Jon Anderson's vocals are still amazing even after more than 4 decades of touring and recording. His spiritual being still emanated from him, as always, and blanketed me in peace. He was relaxed and joked a lot more than I remember from his younger days. My favorite line was, at intermission, "we're going to lay down now". (A reference to his and Ponty's ages, I'm sure). Jon Anderson has aged well-we should all be so lucky! Jean Luc Ponty pulled off some amazing violin work, going from a down-home country vibe to classic Yes riffs to intense, virtuosic symphonic melodies. This show was just beautiful. It made me nostalgic for the "old days" of seeing every Yes tour as many times as I could, but it also showcased the eternal talents of Anderson and was living proof that you can embrace the past while continuing to move forward. Anderson continues to create new and wonderful work while staying true to his roots. This show left me wanting more!

Cannot even begin to describe how amazing this show was. I thought meeting Jon and Jean-Luc in the admittedly-brief meet-and-greet before the show would be the early high point, but I was so wrong - the night was just packed with them. Some highlights: - An absolutely soul-shaking, ecstatic performance of "State of Independence" - Jean-Luc's achingly beautiful solo during "And You and I", in tribute to Chris Squire. (Also, was grateful to look around and discover I was not the only one in tears.) - A super-fun reggae-inspired version of "Time and a Word" - wasn't crazy about this on the APB album, but live, it rocked! They played it early on and it really got the crowd going. - The mind-boggling musicianship of Jean-Luc and his band, the bassist and drummer especially. Both had epic solos! - Jon telling horrible dad jokes in between songs while trying to get his instrument tuned - he is just so damn lovable. - Just all-around joyous performances from everyone on stage. They were so clearly having a great time together and its obvious they love what they do. - Closing the show with "Soon, oh soon the light" - not sure I've heard that live since Jon was last with Yes and it filled my heart more than I would have imagined. Cannot recommend these guys highly enough - if you have an opportunity to go, GO. One of the best shows I've been to in recent memory and one I will remember forever.

Yes without Jon anderson is just a bunch of guys with instruments. The true sound of Yes is Jon. Add Jean Luc Ponty and you have a magical duo the likes of which I've never seen. This is a show not to be missed! I've seen Roundabout performed live 100 times, nothing like I saw at this show. My 24 year old son couldn't believe how cool this "old peoples" concert was. Keep up the good work Jon, Jean and the rest. a Job well done!!

I've seen Jon perform with Yes and the last time I saw Jean-Luc was probably 25+ years ago. These guys have lost ZERO energy and music ability - can't believe they are the age they are. Had the VIP package, and was able to get a photo to meet the both of them they are very friendly to fans. Concert was simply superb. I overhead a few people in lobby saying how Yes fans are completely upset at first set - hopefully second one gave them some relief. Remember guys - it's TWO artists. All the band was excellent. Glad to have made the treck up to see them.

As a long time fan of Yes, I've always loved Jon Andersons voice. I always try to catch him whenever he's in town. I had never seen him with just acoustic instruments. As always, he never fails to amaze me. His voice was a little rough to start but once he warmed up, he killed the rest of the night. With a well rounded set of both Yes and solo works, he led the audience on a journey spanning his whole career. I brought my wife and daughter and they both loved the show. I hope to see him this weekend at BB Kings in NYC.

The high vibration of a messenger graced the stage with Wit, humor, storytelling, talent, music, enlightenment, and a voice that soothed all into a trance of peaceful uplifting LIGHT!! It was Jon. All by himself casting his light unto all in the room. A gift from Providence no doubt. All left with a healing in their heart and a grand feeling of gratitude for sharing such an evening with each other. Who could even truly explain in words ample? It was all INEFFABLE as I feebly attempt to express in written recounting. And to add to it all. My friends and I were able to go backstage and thank Jon in person with a hug and a photo as he always graciously obliges. (even though he looked so tired) We all love the man. He has blessed us all in so many ways.

I wanted to see the whole band together, when that was not possible I opted for seeing Jon by himself. Boy oh boy, the man nearly brought tears of happiness to my eyes. If he were to play at the same place a week later, I would go back to see him without even thinking about it twice. At first I was a bit worried that he did not have a band playing with him, this guy does not require one. He is the bomb. I could not believe what I was listening to. What a voice. It was as if I was watching him 35 years ago. Took my wife to see him sing for her first time. She did not know almost any of the songs, guess what, his beautiful voice had her with her jaws dropped from what was coming out of Jon's vocals. Definitely a must see show. The best, what a gift. I loved it :)

I have seen the band going around calling themselves "YES", twice! Although Steve Howe, Chris Squire & Alan White are in that band, it is not "YES"! In a legendary band? All are equal but the most recognition comes from the voice! Can you imagine the "Eagles" touring without Don Henley? It would not be the "Eagles"? Just like "YES" touring without Jon! If given a choice? I would rather see Jon alone than hear all my old favorites, performed by the above mentioned musicians! Jon's voice is stronger & clearer today than the last time I saw him with "YES" in 2003! This Show was Outstanding, Jon playing for 2 hours by himself & telling stories of "YES-past"! It was a unique experience to hear such classics as "Heart of the Sunrise", "Long Distance", "Close to the Edge" & "And You & I", acoustically! His reggae version of "Time & A Word" followed by Bob Marley's "One Love" were exquisite! The Beatles' were well represented during "Tony & Me", a song about him & his older brother's first band together in 1963! 50 years singing & his voice still sounds angelic! My highlights of the night? He took a request, from someone who yelled out "Wonderous Stories", I don't think it was part of his repertoire? However, it was "Magical" to see & hear! Also, Paul Simon's "America"! These guys are wasting valuable time, CS&N, Eagles & others have put differences aside for their own sakes & for the fans! "YES" cannot be "YES" without ALL THE MEMBERS! Even Rick Wakeman should reunite & "YES"? Can clean up! I will not be seeing "YES" without Jon on this upcoming tour, it's too painful! Life is too short to waste on mediocrity! The current "YES" is ridiculous! Put your egos aside & be what you're supposed to be? The classiest Rock & Roll band in the history of Rock & Roll! Jon alone? Is better than 1/2 a band trying to reach the unreachable! All "YES" members? Sit? Work it out? For your fans, the ones who made you what you are today! "Love is Everything", to quote Jon!

Maybe the title says it all for me. I saw this show in March; I saw Jon and Rick Wakeman together in November; I saw Jon last April, and the year before that. And while the show with Rick had more selections from their new release, the wasn't much of a change in Jon's solo shows. Granted, the shows weren't identical. It was nice that he worked The Lamb and Nous Sommes du Soleil into the set list. But so much of the show, even his banter and stories, I've heard a number of times before. So, a show that gave me goose bumps a few years ago no longer had that effect. Which isn't to say that YES (without Jon) has had a lot of variety in their recent tours. But at least when it rocks, you can still rock with it. Its not the same for an acoustic show. So, I'll probably pass if Jon does the solo thing again next year. On the other hand, if you've never seen Jon solo, then by all means ... Go!

So who needs the fake Yes when you have the voice of Yes and the sound of Yes together on one stage? Jon's voice is as strong as ever, while Rick can still produce chills with his keyboard skills. I had the privilege of bringing my two daughters and my 13-year-old grandson to see these amazing musicians...three generations of fans. Since I first saw Yes in 1972 I have never been disappointed.

I was never a Yes follower, always Rick Wakeman solo. But I liked Jon & Vangelis, so I thought I should give the intersection of these two a go. Well it was wonderful. Rick is just the most amazing keyboard player, plus a superb joke teller (the old furniture stainer had me rolling!). So I didn't know many Yes tracks, but I melted in the 2nd last track Awaken, WOW organ vibrated my bones! Show was awesome.

I'm a huge Yes fan although I couldn't bring myself to see the latest incarnation without Jon. I'm glad I saw this duo performance instead. Jon's voice is as incredible & clear as ever. I'm glad it seems his health problems are a thing of the past because he gave a top performance. Rick was on top as well, telling jokes in addition to his keyboard & piano pyrotechnics. My biggest complaint is with audiences these days -- talking and moving in and out to get beer or go to the bathroom all through the performance. And worse, a woman next to me trying to sing along with Jon on everything. My guess is our selfish, idiocratic culture acts like they're at home in their living room for every public event nowadays....

I've seen Jon in Hartford at the Webster Theatre about five years ago...he puts together these small intimate one-man shows that are a pleasure to experience. There's no frills, but then again, there is no need. Without the trappings of Yes around him, he gets to let loose his personal side, and tell stories about his life and his music. Go see Jon if you get the chance. Five years ago, he did a meet and greet, and here, I got to meet Trevor Rabin after!! If you are a die-hard Yes fan, you just never know what may happen at Jon's shows!!

I was not quite sure what to expect from this one-man show, being a major fan of the orchestral grandiosity of the YESshows I attended in my youth. What a pleasant surprise to hear these YESsongs in their purest, simple incarnations. Of course, the voice of YES was always one of the most important instruments, so I probaly should not be so amazed at the power of this distilled version of my favorite music. Most songs are accompanied by acoustic guitar, some by electic piano, and some by the mountian dulcimer (way cool!) If you get the chance, go see Jon Anderson on this tour. I think you too will be pleasantly surprised.

The venue is so small (maybe 300 total) sitting only 15 ft. away it really felt like a personalized concert WOW!!! According to a husband/wife team who sat next to us arrived ~4:00 PM, not only saw Jon driving himself but exiting his "little red car" (whatever that is) who quickly intercepted him and got his signature on the back of her Tee-Shirt. Her husband is apparently quite the accomplished artist as he had (one way or another) drawn a REALLY GREAT rendering of Jon and transferred it to the front of her Tee. They took loads of pics and promised to send them to me....YEH!!!!! Phenomenal stage performance, he was greatly in tune, played ~1 Hr. 45 Mins. non-stop, by himself, had just the right amount of small talk, two (2) encores which in my career of concert goings has NEVER happened, mostly on a few guitars but a couple songs on keyboards....truly a magical concert at the Magic Bag!!!

The wait is over. It has been 3 long years since Jon Anderson played BB King's in NYC. I know because I was there then too. And last night, oh, last night! Jon Aderson showed us all that with the love and care of his family, and listening to his doctor's orders to take a hiatus from touring, he is healthy and sounding fantastic again. Armed with just a guitar, keyboard & ukelelee, Jon shared with his audiences one of the most intimate concerts in a lifetime. From his reggae version of "Time and a word", to memories of Vangelis and his "Find my way home", even Olias' "To The Runner", Jon stood & delivered. For 2 hours to a packed house, he made his fans forget about Yes and remember that he is the voice within.

I've seen Yes about a dozen times going back to the Tales Tour in 1974. I have several Yes DVDs, as well. I'm a huge yes fan and have seen them three times with Benoit David. It's just not the same, and the third time...it got old in a hurry, sorry to say. The musicians sounded great, but the magic that Anderson contributes to the whole package really boosts Yes' music into the stratosphere. Would you want to see the Stones without Jagger? But, like fishing, a bad day at a Yes concert is better than a good day at work, so I continue to go. As for Jon, my first reaction when he walked onto the stage was that he appeared that he lost alot of weight and seemed almost frail. Looks can be deceiving. His voice was strong and crystal clear. He sounded great. He played many Yes tunes using a slightly different style and some pieces from solo albums, including "Olias"... It was just him and a variety of acoustic guitars. The small squeezed in venue at BB King's was not very comfortable. However, it was very intimate. The power of Jon's voice could be felt like at no other large concert hall. There was also quite a bit of banter going back & forth between him & the audience. Bottom line...His voice was amazing! It's obvious that he still has has a passion for Yes music...so Benoit, bow out and thank your lucky stars and move over for the master...Jon Anderson!!!

I've seen YES, over the years, four times. I was so excited seeing them at a 4-5,000 outdoor stage in Cleveland. I was so excited. Todd Rundgren opened, and although he didn't play any "famous" songs until the end, Todd was really good (including the sound). We were sitting EXACTLY in the middle, halfway up the bleacher seats, in order to see the group, but also to enjoy the music. On their very first song, the distortion from the bass guitar was so annoying but I figured the sound engineer (who was directly below us) would figure it out. Instead, he just amplified the sound more. I tried putting a tissue in my ears, but this only lessened the distortion. After three songs, we left, but first when to the bathroom. I talked to another fan, and my wife talked to another. Both thought it was only themselves who couldn't tolerate to "sound" coming from the speakers. What a disappointment. Never again.

First, let me say that I love the Oakdale Theater. It's in the middle of nowhere Connecticut, but that's fine by me. After all of the horror stories I read about the parking, the parking was great, if you compare it to places like Bethel Woods, or other similar venues. Their rotunda is very nice, and the place has a Radio City feel to it. I will be back in 2 weeks for Elvis Costello. As for YES, John Anderson is YES, plain and simple. We saw the other remnants of YES at the Bergen PAC a few weeks ago, and, while the instrumentals were great, the singer is not JA, whose voice is unique, and whose personality adds a nice touch to the overall feel. He seems like a wonderful person, and makes everyone feel like family. I wish they had asked the audience to make sure that they each place a few votes for YES to make the Hall of Fame, they should have been there a long time ago. My only negative was that they did not play Starship Trooper, that was a downer, and I was hoping for more songs from 90125.

When I decided to bite the bullet and purchase this VIP ticket it was to be the final chapter on my bucket list seeing YES. 15 years prior I had a backstage pass at the same venue. Rick was not touring with them at the time So I wanted to finish the line up with him. The CT VIP lounge was comfortable and the hors d'oeuvres were great! The bathroom facility was quite dirty and the door was broken. That was a bit of a shock to me and several others commented about this. The VIP host and the tour guides were really great. Not a bad night for all of us old farts. I have seen Yes (in nearly every one of their various personnel configurations), ABWH, Asia, solo Anderson, Anderson/Ponty, Wakeman doing SIx wives.. and I would rate this show near the top for many reasons, the most important is that these guys can still capture and hold an audience even at Jon's age. The only bad parts were that they could not possibly play everything and that it had to end. I suspect it won't be too much longer before we will not be able to see them any longer so catch them now wherever you can!!!

He came out after the show and came over to our table and said hello and with many of the people who stayed after the show to take pictures and talk what a really great guy. Jon was great as always, great song selection, great stories. Whoever allowed the jerk in the audience to ruin the show should not be forgiven. Jon is too much of a gentlemen to have the guy booted, dress him down, or tell him to shut up but the crew or the security at the theatre should have done something. The same thing happened in Philly 2-3 years ago when he performed with Wakeman and I am betting its the same jerk.

Can still do it at 69 and shame on those other people from Yes. He is the heart and soul of Yes and I will not see Yes again without him. Nice changes of pace and great stories to keep the crowd entertained for 2 1/2 hours. Would recommend this

Jon Anderson at his best. His voice stands on its own, it is the most amazing instrument, truly unique. Jon is also very funny. Telling little antidote's between each song. It was a spiritual evening.

I've seen Jon Anderson twice with Yes. Every time he has sounded great. It was great to see him solo. In a small old theatre and up close. He played a nice long show with tons of songs. His voice sounded great. He had a video screen in the back that showed nature and psychedelic images. Jon was by himself. Just him on acoustic guitar and he played keyboards on a couple of songs. He often changes up the tune a little bit. Performing songs differently than how they sound on the album. He is funny and tells stories and witty jokes through out the show. Loved his show. He didn't do a meet and greet. Didn't shake hands after show but I ran up to the stage and he shook my hand and then walked off. Great night.

First time I have seen him as a solo act. He is a one man show now, mainly accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, but with electric piano on a couple songs. He can still sing as great as ever and he has some very good spins on the Yes classics, almost all of which he plays. Owner of a Lonely Heart is the only 80s Yes tune he does but he does all of their main 70s faves, including, of course, Roundabout. It was a great show. The venue was really cool...a well kept historic former movie theatre from the 30s. My only complaint is that they were very very strict there about not taking pics or videos...much more strict than anywhere I have even seen.

First, I am not religious...however no one can deny the amazing spirituality of Jon and how his joy of life infects everyone at his performances. He still has an amazIng voice which is smooth while carrying long notes. One of the most unique voices in rock. For a solo artists to be able to carry a performance acoustically of the most technically sophisticated progressive rock music is astounding. There are few people who can "give" so much to the audience, not just in a great singing & musical performance but also the story telling. Such a positive and gifted person with immense humility. Obviously, a GREAT show. Wish I could hang out with him for a day.

It was like taking a trip back in time! Jon's solo performance was classic. He has managed to stay relevant in an era where great music is hard to come by. He is a breath of fresh air from the past. His demeanor was great and his story telling was impressive.
