Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC

For a semi-Pro game it was actually a packed game i witnessed and was a lot of excitement with a great atmosphere of the music, knowledgeable soccer fans, downtown view in the back ground, and "on the seat edge" game play. Also if you're a fan who likes to drink at games, the beer was only $3 when i was there and thats really cheap compared to any other sporting event in pittsburgh.

Was a gorgeous July 4th and they had their second largest crowd ever (a little over 4,000). It was a lot of fun to watch the action up close at a reasonable price. Beers are reasonably priced, $3 for a can of yuengling or $6 for a Tecate pounder. $1 beers before the game are a bit of a rip off, very small cups - don't bother getting in early for that promo. Pro tip: the beer tent behind the supporters section doesn't get much traffic - skip the lines behind the grandstand. The game was fun to watch, the supporters section was loud and enthusiastic, and the views of downtown are impeccable.

I was nervous there would be no room for me at the stadium, I was wrong it was just cozy with everything a person could expect for a football match. Excellent view right at field level for a solid goal for the river hounds and two for Louisville let's say it is more than an event on television

It was great! I watch soccer on TV but seeing it in person was so exciting.

Beautiful stadium and the hounds have some talent too! Feel free to tailgate in the parking lot as well!

The game was very enjoyable. Family friendly atmosphere and inexpensive as well. The view of Downtown Pittsburgh was awesome. Easy access in and out of the parking lots.

This was my first time for myself and my nephew, who plays soccer, to see a professional soccer game. I found it interesting, he liked it very much.

The stadium is great. The team played well and won. My father-in-law enjoyed the views of the city from the stands. My 7 yr. old loved meeting some of the players afterwards. Overall, it was a great experience. We plan to go to another game.

This was our first time to the stadium. Nice field and again, great game.

Good game, plenty of skilful socer on view. Referee had a bad game, sending off Hounds player for two very soft yellow cards and loads of wrong calls on corners/fouls in second half, but Hounds were superior to Barracudas even with only 10 men on field for 70 minutes. Second goal was a gem, build up play was exhibition stuff. Second half was almost as good, plenty more incident with Barracudas defender being sent off for a deliberate foul on a goal-scoring opportunity and a bunch of attacking play from Hounds, their 2-0 lead never looking under threat. Atmosphere was pretty good, fairly noisy crowd, many families and kids all enjoying the game. Will definitely go back, see if Hounds look as good against tougher opposition.

This was my first Pittsburgh Riverhounds game. It was an unusually chilly May evening, but we still had a wonderful time. Highmark Stadium is great - beautiful location facing downtown. The team was fun to watch - some may snub that it's not the MLS, but the players were very talented. There is a small indoor area where you can order food and drinks. Ours was a group of adults, but it also seemed to be a very family-friendly environment. For the price of the tickets, I would highly recommend checking out our city's soccer team in this new venue! A great deal!

I purchased 6 tickets to the game and took the entire family - including 4 kids ages 5, 8, 10 and 12. EVERYONE had a blast. ALL seats were great. The team and atmosphere were exciting - we loved the backdrop of the city and the trains rolling past during the activity. The facility was clean and people friendly. The soccer was AWESOME! We loved the end zone band - they were GREAT! Even entering/exiting the parking lot wasn't bad! We are considering season tickets and look forward to attending more games in the future - worth every penny. Great family event.

Beautiful setting and a good game. Too cold and we left early as many did. Staff was great and I will go again.

It was a great game. However, very cold and windy. Stadium was very nice in presentation. The seats weren't too bad. However, I would probably recommend sitting closer to mid-field for a soccer game.

This was my first Riverhounds event and I was disappointed in the food atmosphere. Eat before you go or expect to miss more than half the game trying to get nachos and cheese, at least this was my experience at the Bistro! I wanted gameday food and waited over a half hour for what they were trying to make gourmet nachos that my husband barely could stand to eat. Next complaint, the parking...get there early as you cannot get into lots that obviously have open space. Other than that the game looked great and I was excited that so many people were supporting the local team. However, a more unique name would be RiverRats with black and gold team colors! IF I try another game I will eat at Station Square and take the T. Other than that, good luck to the players on a good season!

Soccer fans are very rowdy. I had too young grandsons with me and we had to move from general admission because of the loud noise and bad language. Other than that, after we moved, I enjoyed the game and the new facility at Station Square.

Our tickets were at will call and so was everyone else's. a long line with only one person working will call and one person selling tickets. And about two other people just standing in the booth doing nothing to get us to our seat faster. We missed about 15 minutes of the game. We were not happy. Then there were three people at the gate to check our tickets. I would think you would want to get everyone in fast so they would be spending money on food and such and watching the game. I think you all need to get better organized.

A great evening. Excellent football on the field. Great competition. And the stadium is awesome.

It was my first look at the new stadium, Highmark Stadium that hosts Pittsburgh Riverhound Soccer games and other venues. I liked it very much. Soccer or shall we say the REAL " Football" is a sport on the rise in the USA and this stadium although a bit small was/is a very cozy home to the Professional Soccer team. There was nothing to dislike. The facility is new and clean and even the concession stand employees were on the ball and courteous and proficient. I am sure that " yinzers" will get behind the Riverhounds once they start to win and field highly competitive teams just as was done with the Steelers. In the 60's Steeler tickets were " given " away and i was the beneficiary of season tickets for many years. The NFL will start to decline because of ignorant rule changes and managements propensity to inflict offensive games as a criteria for success. In todays NFL every one is a STAR because defense is frowned on. But this will be cyclic and soon the fan base will deterioriate because of such deletorious changes. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Alas the NFL has determined scoring to be a hi priority. Well more soccer for me. Please stay away. No bandwagon jumping. We have one pure " sport " left. Leave it that way.

Beautiful Stadium and event. Great place to watch soccer.

I had the chance to take my old man to the game who is a big soccer fan. He had a lot of fun as did I because the crowd really gets behind their team. It's a nice atmosphere and a nice spot for a family to enjoy a game. The seating is just the right amount until we see fan support grow over time.

After a six game start without a win the Riverhounds seemed posied for a new beginning. An exciting goal in the first half and another in the second capped an excellent game. Highmark field was excellent with great seats everywhere, good concessions and a great view of the City.

First time at the new stadium to watch the Riverhounds play. The stadium is great as are the surroundings and environment. The "Hounds" also played a good brand of soccer and not that far of MLS standards. We will be back!

Our seats were fantastic, although I don't think there's a bad seat in the house! The view of the City was beautiful and the food, drinks available were very good! It was easy to get in and out of the stadium after the game and we all (ages 12 - 75) had a great time!

First time visiting highmark stadium and it was beautiful! Our seats were great and the view was amazing!!

We watched the first half of the game from the "Standing Room Only" section because it's right on the field. It was such a great view. Our seats were second row from the top but you still had a great view of the field and an amazing view of the Pittsburgh skyline. Standing or sitting you've got great views. The only problem with our seats was that anytime they announced over the loud speaker you needed earplugs, it was SO loud. Sadly, the Hounds couldn't beat the Kickers and the game ended 1-1 after overtime. We will definitely be going again. The stadium is easy to get to and tickets aren't ridiculously priced :)

I bought 25 tickets in section 101 for the Riverhounds game on August 17. It was the last home game of the season. Most of us hadn't been to a game before or even Highmark Stadium. We all had the best time! The fans are so into it with their cheers and drums. The scenery of the stadium, The Point, downtown it's just superb. After the game there were fireworks and fans got to go onto the field. We will definitely go back next year for some more games! Go Hounds!

We saw Wigan Athletic from England play against the Riverhounds. The new stadium is wonderful. Small, but intimate. Every seat is good and the view of downtown across the river setting the backdrop to the field is stunning.

The hounds were very exciting to watch live ( first time ). I've been an indoor and outdoor coach for many years and its great to see players of this caliber play so well! It's nice to see what young players can become. The stadium had a great atmosphere and was built very well,I was not happy that they announced a father/child 3 leged race and when I got down their 3 minutes later and they said it was full. Oh well maybe I saved myself some embarrassment. My wife and kids had a great time also and we look forward to another game soon. Thank you

Sat in the GA seats. In full sun until sun goes behind Mt Washington. Reserved seats opposite the river are shaded. Rowdy fans with drums, flags, and cowbells are so much fun! They sing and chant the entire game. If you are easily offended by the word "sucks" or chants about "we'll take your women" sit somewhere else (although you can't always understand what they sing....). During warm up, missed goal balls come into section; kids enjoyed throwing them back. Very convenient concession stand and mini field for kids to kick soccer balls behind that GA section. Highly recommend attending! Fun family night and this stadium has a better view of our beautiful city than PNC Park! Very easy acces from Ft Pitt bridge and West End bridge. You should go!

My 15 yr old son and I went to see the Riverhounds for the first time Sat. night. What a great time! The stadium & scenery were beautiful! We were in the very top row and still had an awesome view. We liked the cheering section too but I was glad we were on the far side of stadium. If we were over closer to them it might have been a little distracting from the great game. However, their enthusiasm was contagious! If I had one complaint it would be that he wanted a t-shirt but the men's selection was minimal. We would have liked a gray t like the players and staff were wearing. For a high school soccer player, it was a great experience!

The night was beautiful and the new Highmark Stadium is really nice. Don't think there is a bad seat. Parking was horrible. Had to park very far, got almost the last space anywhere near Station Square!!!! Also, lines for concession stands were extremely long! Otherwise, great night and love the venue!

What a wonderful evening. Great venue to see a soccer game. Great atmosphere. An excellent entertainment value.

This game was a blast. Cheap admission, reasonably priced drinks and food for a sporting event, and of course the drop-dead gorgeous view of Pittsburgh from Highmark Stadium. And of coures the Riverhounds running away with a win sure helped!

This is an amazing venue and the prices you pay for parking ($6) and the actual game (as low as $9) is unrivaled. It was well attended for a Thursday night competing against the Penguins playoff game. The Riverhounds are a very welcoming and personable organization and highly recommend you see this great club compete at the breathtaking Highmark Stadium!

Highmark Stadium is a spectacular venue for soccer. Tickets are affordable. Concessions are good. Parking is cheap. Quality professional soccer. Whats not to like!

The new stadium is amazing. Being downtown, right on the river is perfect. The turf is beautiful and the stadium was built to fully accommodate a large number of fans. I truly hope it will draw larger soccer venues and crowds. So pleased Pittsburgh is embracing soccer. Now all we need is a Women's soccer team to make it complete. Go hounds!

July 4 Game delay due to lightning. Nothing can be done about that, I know. 3 1/2 hours later after city fireworks the game resumed. Well into the night. Only a handful of fans. Kids cant stay up that late. Ticket prices were higher for the firework show but we weren't allowed in the seats to watch. Two tickets, $75. Saw 18 minutes of the game. Life happens, I get it, but one star rating because no refund or courtesy tickets to another game. Nothing.

Terrible night! Tickets expensive and parking fee plus rain delay for hours. Left after 2 hours. No refund. No break on drafts for rain delay. I could have spent 90.00 dollars elsewhere. Never again.

We went to our first riverhounds game on July 4th. The venue was very nice. Our seats were fantastic. There was a planned autograph session to follow the game. You can't help the weather. A little more than 17 minutes into the game the lightning started. We sat in our car for nearly 2 hours. Watched the downtown fireworks. At that point it was after 10:00 and I was with my young nephew. We went home and learned that the game resumed after 10:30. It likely did not end until after 12:30 am. It is very unfortunate that this was our first experience because I don't think he will will want to go back.

There was lightening and big game delay so I had to leave . As soon as we got into the game we had to leave. Glad the riverhounds was concerned for safety, but sad I ended up wadtimg money on the tix this time

Eveything about the experience from the location, the stadium, the seats, the staff and the teams were the best! We caon't wait to come back

Americans aren't typically big fans of soccer, but it is a game that brings family together for good times. I doesn't matter that the game ended 0 x 0, the best part is the effort the players make to keep the ball rolling and trying to score the goal. Soccer is pretty much like life: you win, you loose you end up even, but you enjoy every single moment. Smile! Be happy!

The game was great! The new bag rule, not so much. I understand the need for safety, but to not allow diaper bags when you have several small children who require diapers, wipes, and changes of clothes is ridiculous! I would have not minded (and in the past didn t mind) being pulled to the side and having my things thoroughly searched so that I could have all that my children required. And with the no re-entry, if you needed to grab something because you had to leave it in the car due to the new rule...oh well! Sure, you could stuff some items into a ziplock bag, but that only holds so much. I did end up purchasing one of the clear totes they were selling, but that was after we were already inside. For a venue that says they are family friendly, this didn t seem friendly at all!

My adult son and I went for the first time. We really enjoyed the game and venue. Great crowd. Riverhounds looked like the better team though the score was 0-0 at the end.

This was our first Riverhounds game. I am a new fan to soccer but found the team and game enjoyable to watch.

This was the perfect intro to soccer in PIttsburgh. The grounds were clean. The concessions were the necessary quality. The staff were very attentive. We went on July 4th and it was the perfect experience and a good view of the fireworks. The Fort PItt bridge blocked the ground effects mostly, but that didnt seem to matter.

The Riverhounds won and it was one of the best soccer games I have ever seen. The Riverhounds are always fun to watch, though and Highmark Stadium is just beautiful.

The seats would have been great if the Louisville fans with their drums wouldn't have been allowed to sit in the stands with the fans. They stood the whole time and people around them could not see. They should of had to sit away from the stands with tbeir instruments,as the steel city fans do. We didn't get to see much of the game therefore, didn't get to thoroughly enjoy it.

Great atmosphere. Easy to find. The seats were hard to find due to lack of section labeling. They mispronounced my friends name for the birthday announcements. (Andria) other than that it was a great time.

While the set up of the stadium gives you great views regardless of section, the best seats are 103. View of the city behind the goal is incredible. Great night, nice fans, good soccer.

Nice evening out with my grandsons they had a blast took them to a pirates game last year and they said they like this trip better.

We were there for the game and got to enjoy the fireworks over the river afterwards. We sat through a light rain, ponchos were relatively inexpensive at $4 each, and they handed out free T-shirts, posters and programs. After the game, folks could go down onto the field to interact with the players and get their autographs. The only complaint we had, and I'm certain it was because of it being the 4th of July, but the stadium area parking was full. They asked us to prove we had tickets, and I'm pretty sure they only started doing that when they realized they had folks there for the fireworks only. But that being said, after our third time around the parking lot, and noticing there were tons of close spaces with cones on them, we asked a security guard where we could park. A few calls were made and cones were moved. Supposedly those were for VIP parking only. But they really had no choice but to open them up.

Just a fantastic venue. Fantastic for the kids, they got to go on the field and get autographs after, it was amazing. Looking for season tickets now!

Good family entertainment ! Easy access to Downtown, could combine with other night events.

The game was great . The tickets were a gift and it was Starbucks wars night .

A wonderful stadium to watch professional football match. I would recommend getting the standing room tickets which are located on the far sideline of the pitch from the seats and behind the goal on the west side of the pitch. That way you can walk up and down the pitch and follow the action very closely. There is even a pub where you can grab food and drinks. Plus there is a gift shop for the Riverhounds.

I was impressed with the ball handling by the Riverhounds at this game. They outplayed Charleston battery in all aspects except scoring, really. Their passing moves were impressive. Now they need to work on turning those moves into scoring, of course. Perhaps they could add being opportunistic (and take a shot) even if the play is to pass to some other individual in order to set up the goal. I do think that after awhile Charleston learned to predict how the Riverhounds were going to try to score.

Nice seats. Weather was a little crappy, but they won!!! Great time.

I now know why I could not find one person who had ever been to a Riverhounds game. It was the worst Saturday night out I've had since I left my twenties behind. The place is crawling with unsupervised children, the speakers are turned to a volume that could reach the attendees in PNC Park across the river, across town, and the half time entertainment was more shrill than my mother. Definitely will not be going back.

Although the Riverhounds lost, it was a great evening for soccer.

It was a beautiful night for a soccer match, and the city in the background was awesome! Team played on just not well enough to win.

The stadium is great, the event was fun. Food selection is limited to fattening stadium grub but otherwise loved it and want to go back.

Had a lot of fun watching the Riverhounds beat the NY Bulls II on the fourth of July. Were even able to stay after game to watch the fireworks from the stadium. Really nice stadium. Just wish the hounds more souvenirs in the gift shop. Otherwise was a great experience!

The Riverhounds have the best of both worlds. Their stadium captures the view of the city, a comfortable seating and an enthusiastic crowd. It all makes for a great evening.While soccer is not a big sport in Pittsburgh the fans are as steadfastly loyal as any in the city. The trains that run by the outside of the stadium gives that small town feel but the skyline says we are a big time venue.

I thought the Riverhounds would be blown away by DC United, but was really impressed by the way the Riverhounds played. This was such a fun night. The atmosphere is always exciting during their soccer matches. It's a great time for the price!

The game was a memorable one, even with the result not being the best in the end. The atmosphere was great and the Riverhounds did a played a wonderful game against a stronger opponent. I took one star off for the mess that traffic is around that stadium. They built the stadium without putting any real thought into parking or traffic patterns. They just plopped the stadium by the river and did nothing to really improve parking or traffic.

If you want to see the team that will become Pittsburgh's favorite in a generation, go see the Riverhounds at Highmark Stadium. This team is laying the foundation with exciting young talent as well as reaching out to youth soccer groups to transform Pittsburgh from having three major league teams to four. Kevin Kerr, Rob Vincent, Danny Earls, Sterling Flunder, Matt Dallman, and Mike Green are going to be names that our kids remember decades from now after this team eventually makes the MLS and later plays on the international scene. It begins here and now. Don't miss out on your chance to say, "I was there when\u2026"

Caught our first Riverhounds game against one of the MLS big boys in the U.S. Open Cup. The game was a blast, and the team dug deep to keep it close. I'd definitely go again. It was a lot of fun for a very reasonable price. Plus, the views of downtown are fantastic.

Great night had by all. My 5 year old loved the game Plus a huge bonus when they went into extra time! Definitely recommend the riverhounds game for an exciting night of soccer.

It was fantastic to have an MLS team come to Pittsburgh, and the Riverhounds competed well on Wednesday resulting in a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation time. Unfortunately they lost 3-1 in overtime, but they exceeded my expectations of how they would do against a higher-level team. Highmark Stadium is such a great place to watch a game and I highly recommend that you go to a game this season.

The game was exciting & the club level buffet was delicious!

We saw a great game with a final tally of 5-2. Then to cap off the evening we were able to go onto the field and meet the players, get thier autographs on a team poster and visit with them for a little while. My son was overjoyed. He saought out players got to shake thier hands and they were gracious and thankful for our coming out on such a cold day. It was fantastic!!

The game was good as were the seats, food, etc. My biggest complaint is the venue/security. I waited in line, got close to the front then everyone was told to split into "girls and boys lines" which was totally chaotic since people had already been standing in line and didn't know if they should just cut in front of whoever was across from them or go to the back of the line. Once I got to the front of the girls line, a rude woman told me that my small purse was too big and that I could not enter. I walked back to the car (which was very far) to drop it off and then was frisked when I returned (after waiting in line again). The week before, I was at a Pirates game on a weekday. I had my work bag with me which is quite large. The man at the gate at the Pirates game asked me to open it, moved stuff around and told me to have a nice day. If the Pirates can get people in and out without a girls and boys line and allow people to carry their bags in, why can't the Riverhounds? I can't imagine why the security there must be more strict, rude, and unprofessional. It did not make me feel happy about spending $61 to have that experience. I will think twice before going to another game. Please make the experience more fan-friendly.

This was my first time at the stadium to watch a soccer match. Our group had a great time once we got in the gates. The process of getting in could use some work, however. Not only were the some of the security folks failing to communicate the male vs female lines and the pocket rules (which resulted in very long lines), but once you got up to them to be searched the personnel patting down people were quite rude. (Or at least the 2 that we dealt with directly). Once in, the seats we had ordered were unbelievable. You certainly can't beat the view from any of the seats for that matter!

First Riverhounds Event attended and was a great experience.

Highmark Stadium is a superb facility for soccer. The stadium is in a superb location with the backdrop being the city of Pittsburgh across the Monongahela River. The level of play was very good and the game was action filled. The price of admission is very, very reasonable and the soccer atmosphere was excellent. The game was a sellout which added greatly to the atmosphere. Very enjoyable.

Great venue. Also went to a couple of games last year. A very good value and offers the chance to see quality soccer. Although not at MSL-level, the players are still very highly skilled, and being close to the field, no matter where you sit, makes it all the better. Fireworks were cancelled, which was disappointing, but we would have attended even if no fireworks were planned.

Our son's club soccer team played a game in Washigton county (which ended around 6:00pm) and planned a trip straight to the Riverhounds game right after for night out to spend time with the other team families to enjoy some more great soccer together. First, it was so difficult to get straight answers over the phone when contacting the Riverhounds ticket office when ordering tickets so we could sit in the same section as our son's team. We ended up sitting 10 rows behind the team and with our family of 6 split up into two rows seats 9 & 10...and the other row seats 17-20. What caused the most frustration was PARKING. We followed the signs around Station Square to the Riverhounds parking lot while sitting in traffic only to find out that the lot was full, no one could park in the Gateway Clipper parking lots right next to the stadium and was told to maybe find parking on the other side of Station Square by Club Whim. This caused our family of 6 to walk to the stadium through Station Square around the stadium to the far side where we had to pick up tickets at the Will Call window before entering the gate. This all caused us to arrive to our seats at 7:30 pm causing our son to miss the player tunnel with his team, the start of the game as well as adding on to a frustrating evening when we were out to have a fun night out with our family and our son's team. This experience was anything but that. By the time we settled in it was halftime and we missed half of the game. Not to mention the fireworks display was cancelled. Our family attended a few games last season because we love soccer, but it was disheartening to hear the kids and mom say "We won't come down here again!". The whole evening was a disaster.

The Hounds battled back to lose 4-3. Disappointing defensive effort. Also disappointed that a replacement was not found for the fireworks display. Apparently, there were parking issues. The team is going through bankruptcy now. I think this will be the last year for the club, and the venue can be returned to what it should be - a live music/festival venue.

Always a fantastic time at the Riverhounds games! Great, inexpensive family fun. The team is awesome and so kind to the fans. They got robbed on Saturday but we plan to go to many more games this season!

Initially had a difficult time ordering tickets online, but after relogging on at a later time, I was successfully able to purchase tickets

The stadium is great and the views are breathtaking. The promity to the action is wonderful. I recommends sitting in the supporters section at least once to truly capture the passion for the Hounds.

Great atmosphere, exciting game, and an unforgettable first experience cheering with the Steel Army. I want to try to go to a lot more games next season! Good luck in the playoffs, Hounds!

Outstanding Venue and event - should have had T3 Riverhound soccer YEARS ago. outstanding facility, Team and over all event. If the incredible attendance isn't enough to show you that the Riverhounds and it fans are quickly outgrowing (if not already) any and all expectations, I don't know what else to present. My only complaint (and it not really a complaint) would be the availablity of RIVERHOUNDS merchandise. It appears they are growing at such a fast rate the management is having trouble keeping up with demands - CONGRATS RIVERHOUNDS - SEASON TICKETS FOR ME.

Haven't seen a Riverhounds game in several years. This team and soccer is far better than 5 +years ago. Riverhounds won!! That makes it much better. Early in the game I thought the hounds were flat, or were going to be dominated, but after about 20 minutes they turned the game into a real game. The only downer, was it was scorching hot, humid and no relief - but that was in God's hand, so no criticism.

We love soccer. The field/stadium is very nice. It was nice to get the Riverhounds hat from Highmark.
