The latest version of Blackfoot is a sonic machine full of infectious energy and boundless synergy! Rickey Medlocke, founding member of BF, joined the band for the majority of their 81 minute set yet acknowledged these men for what they are - BLACKFOOT of 2017 and beyond! Numerous statements were made as to 2018 being an exciting year with a new record in the works. The performance itself was nothing short of sensational. Rickey's input was well received yet the band really shone when he left them to provide intoxicating live versions of songs from "Southern Native," their latest CD. Bottom line - this band is being produced by Rickey and he has entrusted them to carry on the legacy of Blackfoot into the future. Believe me when I say that they this task with superb musicianship. Go see them NOW!

So glad I attended this show! First time I seen Blackfoot live was way back in 81'. The lineup today consists of young rockers and not the original lineup (except for Medlocke who I 'll mention in a moment). The new musicians served up some "loud & rock'n- bluesy numbers" that left everyone cheering for more! They covered a few classics and some new ones before bringing out the "master Mr. Rickey Medlocke." When Rickey hit the stage, the room really lit up! Rickey dedicated the song "Highway Song" to the late Mr. Spires from Blackfoot. At 65 years of age, Mr. Medlocke has really not changed. He sang with so much emotion and moved around the stage like it was 1981 once again! I enjoyed them doing a cover of "Whiskey Train" and watching Rickey using the slide on his guitar! He mentioned at one point in the show, that he was proud to have this new band carry on as Blackfoot. The best highlight of the evening for me was before the show. I got the meet & greet with Rickey and band. Even though it was short, I was happy I got to speak with Mr. Medlocke. I won't list all the songs they did, but if your a true fan of Blackfoot just know it was probably done this night!

And Strike Again HARD, THEY DID! The NEW Blackfoot of Jeremy Thomas (Vocals, Guitar), Tim "Freak" Rossi (Lead Guitar & Vocals), Brian "The Mountain" Carpenter (bass) and Matt Anastasi (Drums) BOMBARDED the Blue Ocean Music Hall with 50 minutes of sensational new music from their upcoming record (due out in 2016) and fresh renditions of classic Blackfoot tunes that we know so well. But WAIT...there's more. Then, Rickey Medlocke took the stage with these fine musicians and gave us 50 minutes MORE of Familiar tunes from the "Strikes" album, an impromptu tribute to members of Skynyrd, and accompaniment on more new tunes from the forthcoming album. The NEW Blackfoot has Rickey producing their work and excellence was displayed in exemplary fashion in Salisbury, MA. Check 'em out at www.blackfootband.com.

I UNDERSTAND WHY RICK LEFT BLACKFOOT TO REJOIN SKYNYRD YEARS AGO. BUT HEARING HIM AGAIN WAS LIKE HE HAD NEVER LEFT. HIS PLAYING AND SINGING IS AS STRONG AS IT HAS EVER BEEN. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE NEW BLACKFOOT LINEUP BUT I LEFT BEING VERY IMPRESSED, IF YOU ARE A FAN OF BLACKFOOT DON'T MISS THIS CURRENT LINEUP. ONLY NEGATIVE WAS RICK DID NOT DO THE SOLO FOR HIGHWAY SONG. HE WANTED TO FEATURE THE NEW BAND WHICH WAS VERY GENEROUS BUT I CAME TO SEE RICK.

They may call themselves Blackfoot, but on stage, were 4 guys that were not even born when Blackfoot was popular. None of the original members. Musicianship was good, but it was about 9-10 songs into the show when Rickey Medlocke finally appeared, and play 6-7 songs with these 4. But, he then left the stage when the solo for Highway Song began! In addition, although Strikes was their biggest album, they had so many great songs on Tomcattin, Marauder, Siogo....play them instead of 5 songs from a new CD coming out next year by these 4 guys no one else know. This would have been so much better if it was billed as a solo Rickey Medlocke show vs. Blackfoot, which it was not
