Was hoping for the best but totally prepared for a letdown. Saw both shows and couldn't have been more impressed. From Shakedown Street to support staff, food, venue and of course the performances themselves all receive highest marks. Public transportation seemed to be a bit weak for those that didn't plan in advance and wifi was not really usable but neither affected me or mine. Travelled 3000 miles with no misgivings. 3 thumbs up!!

Spectacular shows. The Band is going out at the top of their game. The Band may not appear again, but they left an incredible memory for everyone. The music goes on. The Levi's Stadium is a class act. I hope the Dead release a "50 year celebration" box set of CD's and vinyl. The music deserves more than digital down loads and iPods.

Epic band and the music was beyond expectations. Without the music my experience would of been poor. The lines were totally unacceptable especially for vending and restrooms. Was in middle center level, good seats, and was still really far away. In fact the logistics of the stage to the seats make most seats too far away. And or those who prebuy with an SBL what is the deal of not having the chance to purchase better seats.

Totally awesome show. The dead have ruined any other show, because will not even come close to comparing to what they did on stage. I wish I could road trip out to Chicago, and catch the shows there.

The concerts were fantastic, the crowd grateful: friendly, happy, smiling. The only bad part about the whole experience is that I am sad the Dead has said Fare Thee Well and might not ever do it again!!

Had to be one of the greatest dead shows I have ever been to out of close to 200 shows in my life! Played songs I have never heard live before other than on the album which made it what it is. Can`t wait to go to Chicago for the Sunday Show.

Bizarrely, the band played a bunch of obscure songs that would appeal to probably only the top 10% of Dead fans. It was such a huge disappointment for those that came to dance and celebrate. They spent most of the show jamming. Band's performance was good, though vocals showed their age - sounds like they improved quite a bit for Sunday show. Hugely bummed when I saw the Sunday setlist, which rocked. What the hell were they thinking on Sat???

...but those who like licorice really like licorice. The Grateful Dead have not existed since 1995 with the passing of Jerry Garcia. Calling this incarnation the Grateful Dead would be like still calling The Beatles their name without John Lennon performing. Good music it would be but it wouldn't be The Beatles.

Did anyone get error message like I did at first, then wait 15 mins plus to be shut out? Were gen admission (floor) tickets even offered here, as you couldn't even say how many tickets you wanted for that option? So at this point, does anyone have any extras I can pay you for them? Would be super appreciative for it. Trent 707-496-0937

I'm seventeen years old and I live in Nebraska. The Grateful Dead is my favorite band, and has been since i was twelve. I have always dreamed of being able to see a Dead show, so imagine my excitement when I heard about Fare Thee Well! All I have thought about since I heard about the shows is finally hearing Grateful music live in person. I hope everyone who wants a ticket gets one, and I hope my generation will get a chance to experience the Dead. I can't wait to see you all at the show! "Noting left to do but smile, smile, smile!"

I agree. There's nothing like a Dead Show. Especially if you've never seen a concert, this is one you should christen the experience with. You will never find a group of people who are as mellow, friendly and close knit as deadheads. We are clearly and entity all our own. The Dead will never die. Their family just keeps growing as the generations move through time. The Dead give you an energy that surpasses any other source out there and stay with you forever. Their knowledge, love and respect for music reaches out of the box which has them always evolving and blending in with the times and giving new bands/musicians inspiration to create more beautiful music. How many bands can you say that about? This picture is a cake I made for our dear friend Boxcar's 50th birthday. I hope I/we get tickets to celebrate MY 50th.

Over the last 10 or so years I have come to know a group of people who have rapidly become some of my favorite people, the hippies and Deadheads. They are in general good natured, thoughtful, fun loving, considerate of the earth, and all around good folk. I have come to learn and enjoy the music of the Grateful Dead, too. This is a monumental event for them and I would feel "grateful" to be able to attend these last concerts by the Grateful Dead.

Excitement high, emotions skyrocketing. How do you cap a career or a lifetime of being a deadhead? An impossible task. Mama mama many worlds have come since I first left home. We were all there to feel the incredible joy for one more time. Being together on a seemingly long strange trip that sadly was not endless. Inspiration did move us brightly in an unbroken chain of love and music. My love for the spirit inside the lyrics and song truly will not fade away. It was more than a good time. The songs have been beacons and guiding lights that shall remain timeless. Thank you to the band for dusting off those rusty strings just one more time and renewing the good feeling.

In the future, this weekend will be looked upon as an unforgettable, one of a kind, awesome, you were so lucky to have been there experience. Sure the music can be (and is being) critiqued but the multiple highlights every evening more than made up for the "moderate-lights". Some of my memorable moments include: Box of Rain opener, last GD song played 20 years ago, Jackstraw, never heard a version like that before, took my breath away, Scarlett Begonias, if there was any lingering doubt as to whether Trey was up to the part, it was set to rest here. The grin on his face as the masses sang along was beatific. The crowds, the Deadheads, the people; just beautiful. In three days of 70,000 plus people per day I did not hear a single cross word or sharp remark by anyone. Ushers and all involved were great too. Can't remember the number of people who shook hands, high-fived, hugged and wished all of us a great time. It truly was.

My friend and I had tickets to just the first night of the Grateful Dead's Fare the Well concerts last weekend. My anticipation was high given that I've been seeing the Dead for 40 years. Although the vibe both inside and outside Soldier Field was fantastic, overall our concert experience was below average. It had nothing to do with the bands performance and everything to do with the venue and our seats. To begin with, Soldier Field is simply too HUGE for a concert and then our seats were in section 440 way near the top to the extreme left of the stage. We could only catch a glimpse now and then of Bob Weir and had to content ourselves with watching the band on the screens which made it impersonal. Also, the band had technical difficulties with the sound during the first set which they acknowledged. The vocals were muddy and Trey's guitar and Bruce's piano were lost in the mix. Fortunately during the second set they had resolved the problems. The bands song choices and performances were great, but because the venue was too large it detracted from the overall experience. In addition, getting out of Soldier Field was a nightmare. Having said all that, we are still glad we could be a part of it all. :-)

I live in Fort Lauderdale and went to Chicago to see The Dead and I haven't felt this good in so long. A miracle to get tickets and provide a friend with tickets too. I was at the last three shows and enjoyed them very much. Trey did a great job of laying back and catching the groove. When it was his time to play lead the music often sounded more like Phish than the Dead but that is not bad either. Just different. The crowd was great, the band was great, and I'm glad I made it. The only thing missing was Jerry Garcia, the music just could never be the same without him.

Don't believe I'll be the first to admit this ...after months of grumbling on my part, I must say Trey was more than ready for this gig. He slayed Bettha on Friday and only went up from there. After 70+ shows during 80's and early 90's, I thought this was a fitting tribute to a band that really never needed one. Sure missed Jerry but so cool to get to meet his daughter Trixie! Thank you ....for a real good time !

Friday night's Chicago show was simply amazing. This was my first (and obviously last) Dead show and I went with seasoned Dead fans, who agreed. My friend who was at many of their shows cried. The energy was spectacular. The fans were just fantastic. Of course we were all dancing. We were near the exit top row and the whole area was filled with folks dancing, chatting, sharing and just true camaraderie. We liked most of the set, with a period in between of some tripping stuff that when totally sober, we were enjoying but not like the good ole' days.

The Grateful Dead Fare Thee Well concert was a radical expression of not only learning to unabashedly follow your own bliss, but to love and respect others path to bliss as well. A meeting of 100,000+ people with the ideas of acceptance, love, and just wanting to have a good time! With the major victory in human rights this week, combined with an immense gathering of enlightened souls, I find hope in our nation and its people. We may not know whether these paths we walk down are real or not, but we can walk down them with dignity.

After 115 shows, I thought the music was terrific. Sure, it started with some problems and these guys are certainly "old geezers" at this point, but the Jam was in the music and they worked their magic like very few can. I would definitely continue to see their shows....if they come out of retirement!? But Levi Stadium - it was a 100% bummer and would have rather stayed home and streamed the show. It took us 3 hours to get in, they sold tickets behind the stage, food and bathrooms all represented a 30 minute line no matter what, the floor was covered in some horrible ridged plastic that was not nice to the feet or butt, security thought we were all criminals, parking was horrible, trying to get a cab or uber after the show was impossible they way they diverted traffic. Stay away.

A truly amazing show, complete with a happily haunting rainbow from above (Jerry?) that landed off in the distance behind the stage while large drops of rain fell for a short time from a sky torn by sun in one direction and steel grey clouds on the other. Saturday's show was upbeat and perhaps a little strange on set picks but kept everybody moving the whole show! The sound and screens were vibrant and stunning. Sunday's show was a bit heavier and poignant on the Jerry vibe but no less spectacular. Trey, Bruce and Jeff added their own awesome embellishments to old classics formed in new ways and heights only The Dead can achieve.

Once again, the boys have gifted us all with a mind-altering, life-changing weekend of exquisite music. The first night was old school, the second just plain rockin'! Jerry visited and blessed us in the form of a huge rainbow as the first set came to a close. It was magic...pure magic from the start. The crowd was peaceful, joyful, a little melancholy at times..but it all came around to produce smiles, smiles, smiles in us all. Thank you boys, for one last go around with us. Forever Grateful....

Epic doesn't describe it accurately. It was three nights of capturing lightning in a bottle. Trey killed it, nailing the guitar parts. Bobby, Phil, Mickey and Billy all played their huge hearts out. But, what really stood out was the vibe. Everyone was so happy to see the Boys play and hear the music that carried all of us through much of our lives. The shows were a collective pulse that exuded nothing but love and positivity. Go figure, with a band like the Grateful Dead.

I had never been to a "Dead" concert before, but decided to go to this farewell concert as sort of a "bucket list" item. I expected it to be a salute to the hippy generation, with a nod to all things 420, but it was so much more. There were musical memories for sure, but more than reminiscences, the reminders of what the core values of that generation stood for. I am inspired to keep trying to make a difference, through peaceful means.

This show was everything I hoped it would be and more! The music was beautiful, the people were amazing and it was a magical day. It was my first chance seeing the Grateful Dead and I couldn't have asked for a better time!

This band just got better and better throughout the weekend, and by the final show on Sunday they sounded amazing. If they decide to play a few more shows for the folks on the East Coast (which those fans deserve), do yourself a favor and don't miss this event! Truly one of the most memorable weekends of my life.....Fare The Well my friends!!!

The concert was spectacular even without Jerry Garcia who was very much missed. I spent a lot of money for tickets and it was well worth it. The crowd was well behaved. My only complaint is that the show programs were not being distributed and apparently, boxes of them were hijacked by two kids. This is according to a trustworthy person who was sitting nearby. These kids refused to give anyone a program and told people to buy them on ebay.

This was a beautiful, as close to perfect experience as I could ever hope for. It surpassed the hype. From the crowd outside the stadium to the men onstage, everyone came with rings on their fingers, bells on their shoes, in the true spirit of this band. It was heart warming to see the love and enthusiasm from each band member after FIFTY years-- amazing. The power of their music is tremendous. May it continue to inspire people everywhere.

Seriously, this was amazing. From the first note played on Friday to the last on Sunday, it was incredible. Between the Navy Pier's fireworks and what Shapiro put on, Soldier Field was lit up like I'd never seen any stadium ever. It was absolutely the best fireworks display I've ever seen. The boys were spot on with their playing. It was also perfect that Bobby would screw up a song or two. I hope all the nay-saying online whiners realized what I knew already which was that Trey was the perfect selection. He eased into the spot very politely and then through the course of the shows he became more brave til at the end he owned the songs he played. I was one big perma-smile the entire time.

It was like stepping back into my 20's...the scene, the people, the music. Everything just seemed so familiar. 99% of the crowd seemed incredibly happy and the vibe was awesome. Everyone stood and danced the entire 3 days!!!! Although the sound system seemed muffled for most of the first night, the rest of the time they sounded great. Besides the sound early on, my only complaint is the venue was not structured for that many people and things like the bathroom and food lines, and general movement in the hallways was very difficult. They also didn't do a good job of supplying people with maps or guidance on how to get to mass transit or the like...
