The Hoodoos played an amazing set consisting of songs from the new album(Go buy it!), a couple b-sides I never thought I'd hear live (Turkey Dinner & Heart of Darkness) and a cavalcade of vintage classics incl. 'Death Ship' and 'Highway to Hell' . I only wish their 90's albums(Crank & Blue Cave) were better represented. Also nothing from 'Mach Schau. This isn't surprsing as these records got zero air-play in the U.S. Mach Schau was import only. Go buy them now! They are excellent! Dave F.'s between-song banter was amusing and Brad Shephard is one of the most talented and coolest guitarists around. Over all, a great experience!

The Hoodoo Gurus put on an incredible show. They were very entertaining, so talented and in sinc with each other. Immense charisma presence on stage. A fabulous show of intense raw rock n roll. They still "got it"!

I was a little worried when the Hoodoos Came out to a seated dinner audience out front, Dave Faulkner commented about the "seated audience", but that's just Showcase Live-- the dinner patrons should be seated around the top and the standing patrons should be in front of a band that will rock like the Hoodoos instead of he reverse. Despite the odd vibe, maybe because of it, they delivered one of their best shows I've seen them do since the nineties-- the "hits" Come Anytime, Like Wow Wipeout, Leilani, What's my Scene, along with great oddball tunes like "Turkey Dinner" and "Hayride to Hell". Their new songs from "Purity of Essense" did not disappoint and stood with their best-- "Crackin' Up", "I Hope You're Happy" and "the Stars Look Down" show how good their new record is. Three decades in, the Hoodoos provide a clinic on how rock is done to bands half their age.

The band was full of life and vigor and was so in sync with the crowd that they'd bend over backwards to please. Thanks guys for a night to remember and guitar riffs that were truly great.

I was ecstatic to hear that the Gurus were playing my town. These guys were definitely worth the nearly 20 year wait since the last time I got to see them. The band was as tight as ever and Brad's screaming guitar is just the thing I needed to start the weekend off with a bang. Whether you are a Gurus fan or not, you need to see (or at least hear) these guys. Now I just need to see them again without the long wait this time. Fantastic!!

Fun show. Good audience interaction. They played all the hits and then dug a little deeper. After all these years, I was just to finally see them live!

It might have looked like "dinner theatre" for the post punk crowd, but Thursday night rocked like it was 1986!!!!! The anticipation was palatable during dinner as the 40-50 something crowd, some with kids in tow, finished their meals. For me, the wait was endless. I was hoping to be transported back to The Channel Rock Club - mid 80's, and I was not disappointed. Faulkner may have lost the bandanna, and some of his hair, but none of his energy or talent. The bottles of ever present booze may have been replaced by plastic filled with water, but the sound was the same. The Gurus engaged the audience and quickly got down the business of making great loud music. They played favorites and took requests. They never lost a beat even with some guitar trouble. The evening rocked!!! I got what I came for. Long live the HOO DOO GURUS!!!!!
