This concert was one of the best I have ever seen at the Fillmore in SF. The guitar playing & singing by both were absolutely amazing. The band that David had with him was off the charts.... and the fiddle player who looks like he was 15 years old...... mind-blowing is the only word I can think of. Let's talk about the back-up singers........... there were 3 gals that looked like they were straight out of the 70's..... you know , almost like watching a Leon Russell & Family concert 35 years ago! These gals could SING! Three white girls with the biggest voices EVER! The only disappointment was David not singing "Sharon". I kept waiting & waiting, but the song never came. Also, I wish the musicians & singers would have been introduced. If they were introduced, I didn't hear it.

Jorma was great. Played standards from Hot Tuna and Airplane, plus new music.

Great place. Great show. Great new music and great tunes from the Airplane years, Hot Tuna years and Fur Peace years. Love the show.

Wonderful entertainment! The duet warmed to the audience and drew us all together through banter, interesting songs, and amazing guitar and mandolin. The mix of slave gospels and delta blues was funny and kept us on our toes while the playing was always delightful.

I'm a Hot Tuna fan from the beginning when they released their first album. As a matter of fact I still have it. Technically Jorma and Barry were great. But in my humble opinion there was little emotion in their music. Didn't feel any passion in their performance. Maybe it was the fact that there was no bass that made the music sound thin. I would like to see them play here with Jack, as electric hot tuna - maybe that would make the difference.....

These guys did NOT disappoint; they came to play and brought it all! They started out with an accoustic set with a the first song a beautiful tune Jorma wrote about his parents. Touching! Next they played San Francisco Blues and it never stopped from there! They played many old and new tunes that were perfectly on the mark. They took a short break and came back for an electric set! Blew the doors off! Jack and Jorma are both as fresh as the days of Jefferson Airplane! Unbelievable musicians! These old dudes can rock the house! I brought two young friends who love music but had barely heard of Hot Tuna. They were blown away! The hardest part was the auditorium seating. It was impossible to get up and dance; and dance is what you wanted to do. It was very difficult to stay sitting! Very! The San Rafael crowd is a lot of the old hippy crowd from SF. They now have none of the qualities that made concerts fun back in the days of Winterland and Filmore. They were very stiff. Lost in Crystal Canyons...... But what a fantastic concert! Would go back and see them any time!

The only downside was it was too hot (a cold ,cold night and a packed house made you wish you'd worn your favorite t-shirt instead of a sweater), but the music was not. I enjoyed every minute. What a combination/collaboration. Made me go out and update my library on both artists

The concert started fairly promptly at 8pm. David came out, played for a while, then Jorma joined with someone on mandolin who's name I've forgotten (sorry. Gill something, maybe?). They played with a while, took a break, then Jorma came out with mandolin guy and played for a while, ending with Dave joining them and the trio finishing up at 11. The concert was 20 minutes too long. David should have been the only one on stage. He was much more interesting, emotional, powerful, and varied than Jorma was. Jorma seems to have just sat there, played a little guitar, and mumbled things into the microphone. The mandolin player was awesome. David Bromberg was awesome. He had some powerful lyrics, awesome blues, great licks, and some funny songs.

Jorma Kaukonen and David Bromberg have played with some of the world's best guitarists and bands, and they absolutely shine when they're on stage together. They're totally in synch, picking out notes and harmonies as if they're reading other's mind. They've put together a glorious tribute to some of the best finger-picking blues players of the past 50 years.

Jorma, Dave and Barry are legends and their on stage chemistry is joyous and revealing. All three are masters of and respectful of their craft. The German House venue is an outstanding location for a show- great atmosphere, intimate, near several excellent restaurants. A perfect night.

The Ark is a fantasic, intimate setting. There is not a bad seat in the house. Our seat were about 20-25 feet from center of the stage. I've seen Jorma Kaukonen there three times now performing his acoustic music with Barry Mitterhof on mandolin. With them teaming up with the great David Bromberg this time, it was all the more special. The two played well together and it gave the show a lot of energy. Jorma & Barry opened, Bromberg joined them, the two left for a few Bromberg solo songs and the three again united to close....and an encore. Gentlemen, it believe we got our money's worth. Thanks.

Did not know what to expect with this show, but have been a Jefferson Airplane fan for ions. I was aware that Jorma had gone more towards traditional blues music and picking. Took my nephew along who is 22 years younger. Needless to say, I was afraid he might not like the show, since I didn't know what to expect. What an amazing performance !!!! You can tell when individuals truly like working with each other on stage, because it came through in their stage presence. That fact was clear and Jorma, Dave and Barry were exceptionally great musicians. If you like amplified acoustic blues - then you will love every moment of their show as much as I did ! My nephew loved the show too and bought the CD!!!

Two of the finest, most talented and tasteful players ever, together and solo, this show has something for everyone who likes fingerstyle acoustic guitar and encyclopedic knowledge of folk and blues. David Bromberg's return from a long hiatus is very welcome, and together with Jorma Kaukonen, these two really bring out the best in each other, but they also each get a chance to hold the stage alone. Magic. Barry Mitterhoff fit right in when David and Jorma doubled up. The New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh is a very nice venue.

For myself, this was one, if not the best show I have ever seen. These men enjoy playing with one another and it comes across in the show. Just an amazing performance by all three. I don't know if that come happen every night, but last night they really were in sync. The venue was great also. Nice small theatre for an acoustic show like this. It works well for shows of this nature.

I first saw Bromberg some thirty-nine years ago and have always been in love with his work. The chemistry between Jorma Kaukonen and him is incredible and the sold-out house here in Pittsburgh were in awe.

Great combination of acoustic guitarists. The mandolin player was a great compliment. You've got to love Brombers's style. His ability to vocally entertain the crowd while simultaneously playin an exceptional guitar is unmatched. Jorma's jammin was amazzing. They both played some nice rifts. Great to hear them playin songs off of "Burgers". The Hazlett Theater was a great surprise. Good acoutics and view. I would highly recommend this venue.

the show was phenomenal. Bromberg and Kaukonen have great synergy and energy.. Loved the show. Only complaint is the seats in the theater are the most cramped and uncomfortable I've ever sat on. Folding chairs would be more comfortable. The theater is very new, modern and a nice space, especially for music.

They play so well and complement eaxh other. I would recommend anyone who has a chance to see they should go. Even though I am tired today at work, well worth it.

Two Legends together showing why they are held in such high regard by other musicians. You could see every show they do together and probably not see the same song played more then twice.
