The Outlaws, once again, ROCKED the Pepsi Roadhouse. They never disappoint!!! The Pepsi Roadhouse is a nice small venue to see a show and the sound and seats were great but the food this time was a disappointment. Ribs were very chewy and chicken was very dry. But the Outlaws made up for the dinner disappointment and put on an awesome show.

The Outlaws rode into BB Kings on Sat. and brought NY to a standstill! Not only do they sound as great as ever, but the new material from their latest album, Pride, was incredible! Not a seat in the house, and the standing room was packed; great to see the support the band still commands...Henry Paul and company have never sounded better- hope to see them back this way soon!

Outlaws continue to amaze with tight, precision harmony a wicked good, dueling lead guitars. Henry Paul & the boys deliver the old hits with conviction and the tunes of the latest release are right up their with the big hits delivered during the bands salad days. To sum things up, the Outlaws are a fabulous, hard working band of road warriors, It really is about Pride.

As good as it gets. The Outlaw line-up is as good as anything I've seen in years. I go to many shows Name em Ive seen most. Outlaws a must see. Fun and energy from start to finish. Great show by both bands! Outlaws did all of their classics and songs I didn't know. Blackberry Smoke did a tremendous show. Only wished they had a chance to do an encore. Penn's Peak is a beautiful venue. Hurricane Irene took away from the beautiful views from the deck. A+++

The Outlaws @ The Birchmere, in Alex., VA, Fri., Aug.26th were fantastic and amazing. They have rekindled that original sound of all of the founding members. The instrumental songs were dead-on and all the players sounded great. Hurry Sundown, still rings in my ears as note for note and riff perfect. Green grass and High tides Forever was exhilarating and crescendo peaking, ear-loving excitement. It was as if each guy in the band was burning on fire. The guitarists were playing with fast finger picking perfection and exact note hitting precision. This made for lovely melodies and beautiful riff solos. All together the show was outstanding, excellent, terrific and very ear pleasing.

The venue at Penn's Peak is great, we upgraded to a suite, next to the stage for $15.00pp. The Outlaws played new song Born to be Bad and several oldies.. There is new life in these guys, and with Randy & Chris taking Lead vocals on a few classics it changed things up and suprised a few fans.. Billy was "on fire", what an amazing talent. Henry gave us some nostaglia and slowed things down with Cold Harbor, unbelievable Harmony (one of the things I personally love about the band). We traveled from Mass. during Hurricane Irene to attend this show and it was worth every whiteknuckled driving moment.... Blackberry Smoke puts on a great show also, (we saw them for the first time in 2010 and we have been addicted ever since). When BBS teams up with the guitar army it's a show you don't want to miss.

The Outlaws were a real disappointment to me. Initially, they experienced technical difficulties with one guitar, and once that was fixed they were just plain too dang loud! I seldom leave a concert early, but my ears and my wife's just couldn't take it any longer. When we finally left we found others sitting outside making comments about the excessive volume, too. The real pity is that this situation was completely under the control of the sound team and the band, but they apparently saw no problem. I cannot recommend seeing the Outlaws in any venue in which they are likely to play! :-\\

Excellent show yet again. Been to every Birchmere Outlaws show since the reunion tour in 2005. Been following the group since 1976. Have enjoyed every lineup of the band and certainly miss Hughie Thomasson, Billy Jones and Frank O'Keefe. With the addition of each year, Henry and the boys are writing and performing some killer new music. Good luck for the future - we look forward to the next show.

We have seen them live before at The Strausburg Theater, they were fantastic then and still are. We are totally impressed at the energy and professionalism they portray. Just when you think they should be running on empty, they give you even more.!! Excellent beyond words. The sound, the energy, the show are all just fantastic. Just wished they were here in Virginia more often !

I had the pleasure of seeing the outlaws at the starland ballroom on july 22 which happened to be my birthday. As a long time fan of the southern rock genre I have to say it was one of the most amazing shows I have ever seen. The band played thier hearts out even though it was a small venue. Henry Paul led a band of very seasoned and talented artists to recreate the southern sound that I fell in love with back in the 70 's. Billy Crain is so amazing that mere words cannot describe what a talented guitarist he is. I was blown away by his skills. The other band members were equally amazing and I cant wait to see them again at Penns Peak on aug 27. Though probably exhausted the outlaws did a meet and greet after the show and are really nice guys and signed my shirt for me. Long live southern rock and the outlaws. Its a matter of pride !

The Outlaws never fail to deliver. Great kick a$$ rock and roll. A mix of old classics and new material. From Chris Anderson's talent on the guitar, to the rich, southern vocal harmonies and melodies brought forward by each musician, The Outlaws put on the best show you will ever see. Truly a shame that these guys do not get the publicity that they deserve. From the very beginning of the show when they bust out into "There Goes Another Love Song" all the way to the end when they perform "Green Grass and High Tides Forever", your jaw will be dropped to the floor. You can just feel Hughie and Billie's spirits as the concert goes on!! The Florida Guitar Army is composed of some of the most talented guitarists that you will ever see and hear! Henry Paul does a great job leading this band and their newly released album, "It's About Pride", has hit after hit! I hope there is something new in the making!! I love the Outlaws and hope to see you guys perform again!! Once an Outlaw, Always an Outlaw! Recommend this show to anyone that loves real music!

An amazing show from start to finish. Henry Paul Band opened up and played the entire Grey Ghost album. What a treat! It's great having Billy Crain back onstage. Billy and Jim Fish played the Outlaws set so there were 6 guitars wailing on a lot of the tunes. Henry's son sang lead on one of the tunes and the apple don't fall from the tree, he has a great voice.

I go to a lot of concerts from the bands that were popular in the 70's and 80's and none of them has stood the test of time like The Outlaws. There are other bands in a similar genre still touring that sadly have long lost their vocal ability which kills the whole show regardless of the stregnth of the musicians behind the vocals. Outlaws vocals are so strong throughout entire show and their guitar playing is unbelievable - so strong and tight throughout the entire night. A must see concert.

The venue at the Pepsi cola roadhouse sucked big time! We felt like standings all squeezed all together! Had a sore neck the next day from leaning to the left to see the stage, and to see in front of the person to my right, I really had to stretch forward! The only reason for the five stars is because " the outlaws" are out standing! We have seen them at jergels ( great venue!!!). The war memorial in Johnstown pa, great venue!! "We'll never know what could have been. We can only look back and imagine." That quote appears on a sign hung on the piano of the night's opening act: Crawdaddy. Crawdaddy is a Lynyrd Skynrd tribute band. This night we were treated with the drumming of Artimus Pyle, original member of Skynrd and a survivor of the horrific plane crash which killed six people including three members of the band. Artimus Pyle was one of three men who crawled out from the wreckage and walked through swampy woods in search of help, nearly ending up a victim of a local farmer who thought the men were escapees from a nearby prison. Back to the music. When I think southern rock, I think lots of guitars, a few backup singers and a big drum kit. Check. Oh, and it needs to be loud and rockin'. Double check. From "Gimme Two Steps" to "The Breeze" the joint was jumping. Throwing in a little "old fashioned honky tonk," "I Know a Little About Love" and of course a spot-on version of "Sweet Home Alabama," Crawdaddy set the tone for one great night of rock. This is why you should always check out the opening act. Otherwise you would just miss too much fun. The Outlaws Now in April, I did a blog post on The Outlaws called "Time To Kick It Up: Outlaw Style." At that time, I had no idea I would be seeing them a few months later. So here are a few thoughts on seeing them live. Thought #1: Yeah Thought #2 Hell Yeah. I lost count at the number of standing ovations The Outlaws received last night. The first was three songs in, after a killer rendition of "Hurry Sundown." And, that was after a wicked version of "There Goes Another Love Song." It was hard to find anyone without a smile of their face. This night, the band mixed in a lot of newer material along with the old classics and you know what...it was all good. It's a shame that even Sirius radio does not have a channel where classic rockers can get their newer music played (though they might be moving in that direction). Their new album "Its About Pride" will be released this September. The title song, which they played last night, reflects what has been their reason for pushing on all these years. Pride in being in a band that has endured, and pride in the product they have produced. I'll say one thing, these boys are having a real good time. Unlike so many bands today, where interaction between the members is limited to a nod or a glare...every member from original lead vocalist Henry Paul, original drummer Monte Yoho to veteran guitarists Billy Crain and Chris Anderson to bass player Randy Threet and Keyboardist Dave Robbins...these guys really seem to like each other. In a business where that is not always the case...it was real nice to see. No southern rock band is complete without a trio of backup singers, and these girls rocked it out all night. At one point Henry talked about playing the old Capitol Theatre in Passaic, something like a hundred years ago. That is where this girl grew her rock & roll teeth. For me, that was a nice trip down memory lane and was much appreciated by a friendly crowd, many of whom had most likely been there too. The set ended with a full length version of "Green Grass and High Tides." I think this was when I tweeted a picture with one word...wow. Encore was "Ghost Riders in the Sky," Kick ass, smokin' and still a great vocal. A killer night of music. yippee-ki-yay.

Ripcords
The current line-up consists of two early Outlaws members Henry Paul (guitar and vocals) and Monte Yoho (percussion), along with band mates Chris Anderson (lead guitar and vocals), Billy Crain (guitar), Randy Threet (bass), and Dave Robbins (keyboard). The Outlaws, from the beginning, were never known for their lead singers extended vocal range. With Henry Paul doing the majority of singing now, that has not changed. His voice is still adequate, if not stellar. He doesn t sound like Hughie Thomasson the original Outlaw (who died in 2007) but he is OK and his voice is recognized from the old days, bringing a familiar ring to the band. But let s face it, what The Outlaws WERE known for is kick-ass guitar and no hold barred southern rock. They still give that out in spades. They played for two hours straight, with all the standards thrown in including Freeborn Man, There goes another love song, Green Grass and High Tides, Ghost Riders in the Sky, and more. They also threw in some from their upcoming album (It s About Pride). As for the new material, it sounds like classic Outlaws music. If you like Outlaws, you will like the new album. These guys play well. Watching them working the guitars the word that came to mind was Artist. I know that s kind of a cliché these days, and I don t often look at musicians as artists (Sorry to all the musicians out there…) but these guys were really impressive. When I think of ‘Artists I think of people like Michelangelo, people that transcend their craft. Watching these vets play made me think of them in that regard. The band s sound is clearly still there, with the triple guitars playing separate but complimentary riffs, and then coming together for short guitar harmonies before breaking off again into their own blazing paths. It was a great show. They were loud, fun, gracious, and eager to please, and they did that well. Afterwards, they all sat down in the lobby and signed whatever you brought to them, chatted with the fans, and truly seemed grateful to the people who came. If you like ‘southern rock or ‘rocking country or whatever you want to call their brand of play, go see them. You won t be disappointed.

Got to enjoy some exceptional seats at Indian Ridge up front, awesome Sunny day and roaring rock to boot! RV/Campers in the audience and taking in the show on the water taking saw a great show. Missed the PeachEaters but was impressed by the Cold Train Set prior to the Outlaws perfomance. They played some great Southern rock and did not cheat on the arrangements. They like their Molly Hatchet/Skynyrd sound and it showed in their set. Outlaws driven by original members Henry Paul and Monte Yoho led the group through a energenic 90 minute set of old classic and some new songs off a new CD the band is in process of releasing in September. Even after 40 yrs on the road Henry continued his mission in deliverying his rock and roll harmony with strong group vocals and super tight guitar arrangements that the Outlaws made famous and the "Guitar Army" nickname stand tall. The staples in Green Grass and Hightides, Freeborn man, Waterhole and encore Ghostriders in the sky were enjoyed by all. The band's guitarists (Billy and Chris) really "shredded" the audience with their attack. After the show the Outlaws hung out and signed some autographs. I was fortunate enought to capture a set list from the stage and have the guys sign it for me. Nice venue, great day and good day for the Southern Rocker in all of us. Good Luck to the Outlaws ..come back next year!

The show was fantastic. I saw it last year and if they come back next year I will be back again. Their guitar playing is among the best I've ever experienced. They all have exceptional talent.

Yes, I know the review title is a bit corny, but hey, this was a great show. I saw the Outlaws about a year ago, also at BB King Club. This show I was sitting at the stage, got great upclose pictures, and the video audio came out much better then expected. They played a surprisingly long setlist of 20+ songs, with the radio favorites, Hurry Sundown, There goes another Love Song, Green Grass & High Tides, with the encore, Ghost Riders in the Sky. Both guitarists were in excellent form, simply an excellent show all the way around. Jeff

Having never heard of this band, normally I'm not expecting for the opening band to be that impressive. Blackberry Smoke was impressive from the first song. They have the true southern rock look & sound, like a southern hillbilly. However, these guys are excellent musicians, have a great sound and lyrics. They also do not act, at least on stage during the show, do not act like a southern "redneck". I am already looking on iTunes or on their website for cd's to see what I can buy. I would definitely be interested in seeing them again in concert in NYC. Jeff

The Outlaws roared into Sayreville, NJ on Saturday night and tore the venue into pieces! "Amazing" is an underemphasis as this band never ceases to send me into near delirium (and I've seen them eight times since May). From the opening harmonies of "Tomorrow's Another Night" to the closing crash of "Ghost Riders (In The Sky)," The Outlaws provided a capacity crowd with 100 minutes of stunning and stupefying Southern Rock symphony. If you have not seen this band, I strongly encourage you to attend upcoming performance. Once you see them, you'll never forget it and you'll be begging for more! I'm living proof of this assertion!

These guys are the best guitar group on the planet. Their energy only seems to be picking up. 25 minute Green Grass was over the top. Highly recommend. They connect with the audience and, even though they are one of the most iconic Southern Rock bands, they are so accommodating and will talk after the show, shake hands and take photos. There s just not enough good things to say about the Outlaws

Nothing better than 4 guitars cranking on the edge of the stage! Newer lead guitar ripped it! Great performance and time at Blue Ocean.

The Outlaws were better than expected. For a week night they didn't need an opening act, the show ended after 11:00 PM.

As always, the Outlaws deliver an EXCEPTIONAL performance which we have not missed for many years and we fully intend to continue to see them for as long as we possibly can. The Pepsi Roadhouse is such a personal venue to see them in which adds to the whole experience!

ON this site, I saw some negative reviews on them on how loud they were and such. So I was a bit leery of the show. I have bad hearing already and have hearing aids that can make sounds too loud. So I assumed I wouldn't be wearing them. I can only say for me that the show was just simply AMAZING!!! Not deafening loud either. I could hear the words, the acoustic guitar everything. And I didn't have to take the aids out either. It was amazing how tight they were. There wasn't a 1-2-3-4...it was "this song is _____" and they'd go right into it. I assumed there were going to be a lot of long drawn out solos. I was wrong again. Minus where you' expect them and where they are in the songs. And Henry Paul STILL has that voice. I can't wait until next year. And there was also a meet and greet and I got the legend's autograph to top off the evening. I can't say enough about how great they were. I was expecting to be pleased with the show, but it was by far more than I had ever expected.

This is our 5th year making the 7hr. one way drive from MD to PA to see the guys; and the good Lord willing...we'll be there next year as well! This is a family outing for us; since we bring along a brother, a son and a granddaughter! The food there is great; and the staff is just as friendly as they can be, as well as efficient at their jobs! This year we were tickled when our server from last year came up to us to say "Hello" just because she remembered us! It doesn't get much better than that folks! And of course "The Outlaws" never disappoint EVER! I've been following them now for 40 yrs. and I never get tired of hearing them! What can I say; they are my all time favorite group! We're so pleased that there are still places like the Pepsi Cola Roadhouse for us to enjoy our favorite band at such a nice facility! Keep up the good work and we'll see you all next year!

The venue was great as far as seeing the band. The music was awesome and not played so loudly that you came away with a headache. The mix of songs was perfect and the band interacted with the spectators.

The way this show went - the same guys are Blackhawks which present a more country music lineup. Then at halftime, they change shirts and rearrange the stage a little coming back out as the Outlaws, more towards Southern Rock and more dance-like music. They were incredibly kind and talents (not to mention oh my God good looks). After the show, they lined up to sign anything you want or especially bought, then back through the line for selfies with the band....love their generosity of their time. When a band appreciates their fanbase, they will do well! :D

We have seen Blackhawk four times in almost twenty years and they still sound awesome! We saw them in San Antonio, TX, Saratoga, NY, Great Falls, MT, and now in Jacksonville, FL. The first hour of the show was Blackhawk and they performed many of their biggest hits flawlessly. They even played a new song that the sons of two of the band members wrote. It was so cool! There was a brief intermission and all of the same guys came back out and played for over an hour and a half and they performed all of The Outlaws hits and a new one of theirs too. We are now Outlaws fans as well!!! The Florida Theatre is a very neat place and the people were so helpful. The history of the theater shines through and was so interesting to see.
