Quiet Riot

QUIET RIOT IN CONCERT:Quiet Riot holds the distinct honor of being the first metal band to top the Billboard 200, a feat they accomplished back in 1983 with their seminal breakthrough album Metal Health. Since then, they've lived up to their name, enjoying one of the longest-running careers in the genre and continuing to sell out shows with their hair-raising onstage energy.  With the recently anointed Jizzy Pearl on vocals and a new album due out in 2014, Quiet Riot will be bringing the thunder on their upcoming tour dates.BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:Formed in 1973 by legendary metal guitarist Randy Rhoads, Quiet Riot built a huge regional following in their hometown of Los Angeles in the mid-‘70s.

Wow! What a show... they played almost the entire Metal Health album...as well as their other songs. FRANKIE, ALEX, and CHUCK, are great guys, and could not have been more gracious with their time. The 'new guy' does a phenomenal job on lead vocals. Some might say this is just another 'tribute band' but that's incorrect. .. these guys are doing it for Real. See their documentary and then go see them LIVE!

We traveled from Arkansas to see the show and were disappointed that the bands time were cut so short that Gilby Clarke, Bullet Boys and Faster Pussycat could only do 5 songs each! The venue should have given each band more time.

I honestly have no idea how these four bands could not completely and totally pack the house, they were all amazing and wonderful, quiet riot was completely off the hook, however with the small crowd it was very challenging I feel for the bands to be completely present. And they did a great job! it was just sad for the bands to have such a small crowd. We all were very enthusiastic, and even though we were small we were mighty.

First off, what's up with the venue? The Saban theater in Beverly Hills isn't a place you go to rock out or bang your head. This is an upscale theater for seeing a play or the opera...assigned seats? Come on! Secondly, the opening bands Gilby Clarke and Bulletboys were awesome with really solid musicianship and kick ass songs you remember, but just when you started to get into it, it was over. These sets were so short, it was like a tease. It definitely left me wanting more. Faster Pussycat....not much to be said here....these guys haven't changed much and were more concerned with the lighting than the music...though the drummer kicked ass as he did with Gilby! Finally....Quiet Riot?! I'm sorry, this was Frankie Banali trying to relive the wonder years. Don't get me wrong, I love Frankie and QR lives in the core of my soul, but when Jizzy Pearl got up on stage and tried to pull off a Kevin Dubrow imitation it just fell flat. I was all ready to Bang my Head, but it just came out wrong and by the end of the show, I knew it was over forever. Sorry Frankie. Sorry Jizzy, I loved you in Love/Hate, but it's just not possible to replace Kevin Dubrow. It truly made me sad.

Enjoyed each band and the venue was really nice. The only issues was how late the overall concert started. Quiet Riot didn't go on until midnight.

All the bands sounded decent, and the performer's still were able to do what they used to back in the day despite the years gone by.

I've been to my fair share of 80s metal concerts and I usually know what to expect. The fancy cushioned ball room chairs and elderly people kinda threw me off. But the band still rocked and that's all that matters. Loved the moment of silence. It's great that they remind people of the talented musicians that have made their mark on Quiet Riot. Over all I would deffinantly recomend this show. And even though the setting was out of place. It's actually a pretty nice casino. We stayed after to hit the slots a little before we left.

Quiet riot was worse concert ever and I'll tell you why daily played for an hour and 44 minutes total in that time they did a guitar solo a bass solo and a drum solo the lead singer was on and off stage the majority of the time it was really a put together a shit show Tony Orlando did a better job than them fools

Our experience at this show was exceptional,in all aspects. First I have to comment on the venue, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, PA. I've seen countless concerts over the past 45 years, from the biggest arenas to intimate clubs, and this is one of the best venues I've been to. Even though we were dressed in our rock n roll garb (denim and leather), the casino employees were gracious and helpful and didn't treat us like potential criminals - no body or tote bag search, or just a smile and "can I help you find your seat"? There appeared to be more than adequate security, but they were obviously there for the safety of the band and the fans and didn't anticipate any brawls to break out! There were some empty seats, so they let us move around to take photos, etc, and didn't give the fans the usual "YO, SIDDOWN!" if you have the audacity to try to move outside your own 18 inch space. Even the most conservative looking employees appeared to enjoy the show, if they hadn't been wearing the casino logo (okay, and a polo shirt and khakis), you wouldn't have known they WERE employees. So props to the venue, this definitely won't be the last concert I go to there! Now for the band - they were scheduled to come on at 8:00, and amazingly, they came on at exactly 8:00! We've never seen QR live before, so I was hoping for a great show and they did not disappoint. Their new lead singer, Jizzy Pearl (LA Guns, etc) was a perfect choice to step into the shoes of their original (now deceased) singer, Kevin Dubrow. He opened the night by thanking the fans for "keeping rock 'n roll alive", and the band roared into their show. Their passion for their music was infectious, and with the volume cranked to ten, they kept the audience in the palms of their hands as they thundered from one song to the next. Jizzy jumped around the stage so much you'd think his shoes were on fire, and the guitarist and bass player gave the audience exceptional solos that didn't leave me feeling like they were just playing to give the rest of the band a bathroom break. I would highly recommend going to one of their shows if you can. Quiet Riot is a band who obviously still love what they do, and we're all luckier for it. You can tell they're not touring because they need the money or because their rock star egos need a little more stroking. They go through this grind because they want to keep the rock 'n roll flag flying, and on April 26, they had their loyal soldiers marching behind them.

Since the show was in such a small venue, it made the show that much more excellent. Everyone was able to see then perform without problem. I am glad that Quiet Riot lives on since the untimely death of front man Kevin Dub row. I especially loved the mention of former member Randy the guitar God Rhodes. I look forward to a new album with the new front man.

Quiet Riot was an awesome good time. This is a band that has been out for over 30 years and has replaced their lead singer since the old one died of a drug overdose. The new singer has a ton of energy and loves playing the songs. He isn't burnt out on any of the songs yet and it shows. The crowd was there appreciating the music at an ironic level and there wasn't a single person that didn't have a great time. It's a cheap and fun way to spend an evening.

Excellent show. All still have what it takes to put on a great performance. Outstanding venue to see a show. Liked being able to walk around, stay on floor near band, or stay at bar. QR, BB, and GC sounded great and had great energy, and FP was awful. Zero promotion caused low turnout, but the bands made the best of an awkward situation. The three great bands played with the same energy and enthusiasm as they would if they were playing in front of a full stadium. They were clearly having fun dedicating songs to each other, going on stage during other bands sets to sing back up, walking around in the crowd between sets, and watching each other play in the audience. They shared drinks with each other and with members of the crowd. The bands music was basically spot on, but GC needs a singer but listening to him trying to sing was just fun.. The new QR singer was pretty good. He is no Kevin Dubrow, but he did a respectable job. A band member from one of the opening acts actually walked over and had a conversation with me, at the end of the show, and I wasn't even sure which band he was with. It was a unique experience. It was fun to watch bands giving their best efforts and having fun with each other.
