The Script

The Script

A self-described "Celtic soul" trio, the Script were founded by guitarist Marc Sheehan and vocalist Danny O'Donoghue in 2001. The two musicians had previously performed together in Mytown, an Irish-based boy band that enjoyed moderate success at home but failed to generate international acclaim. After the group disbanded, Sheehan and O'Donoghue spent several years in Los Angeles, where they worked as producers alongside the likes of Teddy Riley, the Neptunes, and Rodney Jerkins. They later relocated to Dublin and recruited Glen Power as their drummer, trading promising careers in production for a blend of contemporary R&B and polished, anthemic pop/rock.

The most amazing band live! If you have not seen them, you must go. They're love of music and performing is so infectious, the whole crowd is just drawn in. It's just such a positive and joyous night of great music! Everyone sings all the words to all of the songs, and they do all of their hits and some of their new music. It's a must see!!!

I have loved The Script's music for a few years now. I knew that I would enjoy the concert, but between the amazing opening act (those guys were great!) and the amazing, full energy experience given to us by Danny, Glen, and Mark, it was a night to remember. They honestly were just as excited to be there as we were, and they were extremely grateful for everyone signing their lyrics back to them. These wonderful performers (as well as wonderful people) deserve whatever and wherever their talents take them.

Concert was brilliant, i've seen then three times before and they are always a standout show. Of course i wish it were a smaller venue, house of blues is nice but its always great to see a band like the script in small places where you can hear them sing rather than the audience

I have been a fan of the Script since I was introduced to them through their songs the man who can't be moved and breakeven. I have see them several times and each time is just as unique and special as the last. The shows are always high energy and their songs are ways relatable and fun. Danny, Mark, and Glen always make sure the audience has a great time! You can tell that each song that they sing is just as personal as the last, and is very relatable to everyone in the audience. They also show their love of what they do in every song-it clearly doesn't matter if they had an audience of thousands or just one because they give every song their all. It doesn't matter if you have been a longtime fan, or just discovered their music yesterday, a concert by the Script is well worth the money spent!

This has been the best Script concert that i have been in... I first watched them in 2013 in San Francisco, then 2014 here in Concord, and last May 31, 2015 in Fox Oakland.... The band really brings out the best in the crowd. Danny's energy, and the entire band's flawless and amazing performance is worth watching.... I'm not going to be surprised if I will watch them concert again next year, I'm crazy about them and their beautiful songs!! If you can only see one band live, see The Script. They set the bar with live shows. The Energy Never Dies! There is a reason Danny looses a ton every tour, he never stops moving! In the crowd and all over the stage. This is what live music is all about. "The Un-downloadable experience!" -Danny

The concert was Fantastic! Our group of 5, consisting of three 21 year olds and two over 50 had a great time with out feet in the water, our hands in the air and our voices lifted up! The music was amazing. The singing was spectacular. When Danny was out in the audience and up the stairs on the building behind the crowd, the people in the audience around us were at a new level of excitement. Aside from the amazing music, singing and showmanship, the best part of the concert for us was to see the genuine emotions of gratefulness and humbleness come through when Danny spoke. Sensing the sincerity that the band's dreams were coming true at that moment, from poverty to success, was powerful. For someone to be present and to actually participate in someone else's dream coming true is a powerful and fulfilling moment. We felt honored to be a part of that moment.

Despite the venue being pitifully stuffy (even all 3 acts were complaining), The Script were terrific! So much energy and interaction with fans! Amazing set list! Just a fun, fun time! To see these guys in a smaller venue was amazing. They were spot on with the music and sound. You know all the songs and pick up the beats quickly if you don't. These guys clearly have fun on the stage and connect directly with the audience. They care about leaving you fully satisfied with the show, and that is without overblown lights and effects. It was all about the music and the audience. Danny was spot on with his singing and entered the audience often. Very energetic, yet humble front man. Mark's guitar and singing was , spot on and he was part front man. They put the drums at the front of the stage and Glen also plays a big vocal role. Glen hits the skins hard and crisp, and if you like funky chops, the dude is amazing. The singing was spot on all night, and the crowd sang along constantly. The Script was pure music and fun.

I have been a huge fan of The Script since they arrived on the US scene in 2009. I've seen them at least four times before, always as the opening or second act at a large venue. This band from Ireland is so special bc they changed their date to do a red cross fund raiser for Long Islanders and played their heart and souls out. This is a group that performs live better then almost any band I have ever seen. Danny is a security nightmare but thats why we love him (all of them) so so much. The Script has so much passion in all their songs and it comes through when they play especially if they are right in front of you like at the Paramount, huntington NY. Its like having them at a private party! As a long islander I cant thank them enough for the support and caring that they showed. I hope you boys are around as long as U2 and thensome!!

I did some research before the concert to find out who opens for them, and I wasn't really diggin her music on youtube. BUT, after the concert, I quickly purchased Tristan Prettyman's newest CD on iTunes. The crowd didn't seem very into her. I suppose if she was more popular or in a smaller setting, like a cafe. She has a great voice. The Script was great! They interacted with the crowd a lot, but it seemed like they performed only for the bit/crowd right in front of them. There were so many people seated. They should've looked forward at the people seated too, and not just sing to the people standing in front of them. I wish the music was loud enough for us to feel the bass and music. It would've made the atmosphere better. They are great performers, though. They sound just like their CD! I would definitely recommend them. They usually have a meet/greets after their shows if you stay long enough. Didn't expect much at first, but they definitely exceeded all my expectations. They're amazing live.

Now do not get my rating too misunderstood, b/c I love love LOVE The Script with all my heart.. I practically lived and breathed them for a whole month prior to the concert. I had it all planned out in my head what the concert would be like. Started at 8:00 - Hot Chelle Rae came out.. ended at 8:30.. we waited another half hour for the boys to come out on the dot. Great performance, very energetic but They only played... for one hour... I was really shocked & disappointed =/ I seriously almost started to tear & for the fact they didn't play "This = Love"... I still adore them and their music, I guess my standards were a bit too high for the length performance of a top celebrity concert?

This was the first concert I've ever attended in my whole life. Hot Chelle Rae opened up, and I didn't expect them to be as awesome as they turned out to be, the lead singer has a killer set of vocals. They were a great opening band for the Script, who just blew my mind away. They both showed a lot of love and dedication to their fans, and acted like we were one of the guys and not just another audience. If you have the time, go see them both, you won'e leave disappointed. The venue was beautiful, not too small and plenty of room to move around. Great first concert experience! :)

This was probably the best concert I've ever gone to. Both HCR and The Script sound AMAZING live, not like some groups who should just stay put in a recording studio. Such great energy from both of them; lots of fantastic audience interaction. Mark and Danny, especially, were hilarious and even though there were hundreds of people around, it felt like we were all just hanging out at their favorite pub in Ireland. I very much wish I could just hop a ride with both of these groups and go to every remaining show of the tour. Absolutely fantastic.

I love Danny O'Donoghue's voice. I also love the fact that he loves to hear his fans sing. For "We Cry," he even came out into the audience and let fans sing a line or two. It was great to feel involved in a performance, rather than just being there to listen. The Script are also all great guys. It was fun to hear them joking and telling stories in between songs.

The Script put on an awesome show. They ran seamlessly from song to song and kept the crowd engaged throughout. This is the 4th time that I have seen them and they just keep getting better. Safety Suit is also one of my favorites but in the venue, you could not hear the vocals. We were in the pit and couldn't hear a thing. I would think they would have discovered this during sound checks. They brought extra speakers down before the Script started but missing Safety Suit was a disappointment.

The Script was well worth the trip to Nashville; they were excellent musically and they seemed to enjoy being there as much as we did. Hot Chelle Rae was great! It was a really good night, lots of fun and fantastic music. I would do it all again!

This is my 3rd Script concert. This show was rescheduled from the original date of June 7, 2011. I was introduced to the Script when they toured with David Cook in 2009. Saw them last fall in MInneapolis at the State Theatre. I felt this show at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis was even better - better sound, better lighting, better visuals. My only complaint is the instrumentals overwhelmed their voices a bit. Thought they could have toned it down a bit for the size of this venue. This was the 1st show of the 2nd leg of the U.S. Science and Faith Tour and the Minneapolis audience was very appreciative of their charming Irish spirit. A good mix of old and new tunes and some great sing alongs with the Minneapolis crowd. If you are thinking of going, you won't be disappointed.

Wow. For my 1st official concert for the only band I've actually ever liked and enjoyed every single song, I must say it was amazing! Nov.4 was a gloomy rainy day, but that didn't stop me from waiting on the line 4 hrs before the show. For some time now I've been listening to these Dubliners and thought I was one of the few who knew them here in NYC. Boy was I wrong! Terminal 5 filled up 3 floors to see the pop/rock sensation that's fresh out of Ireland. Great music flew in and out of the fans' ears as each of us mouth their lyrics. I even got some of the guitarist's picks and drummer's drumstick!nThe lead singer had every girl's heart that night with his cheerful performance. Yes I admit they're a band of good looking guys, but I only love they're music. As the show ended, I was completely satisfied. There was one more show the following day which I didnt have a ticket but I decided to skate around there with my friend to hear from outside. I did bring my CD album just in case the group would come out for a break before the show. One of the security guards remembered me and so I gave him some stuff so he can maybe make a miracle and have The Script sign. He said it would be a slim chance. about 10 minuetes later I turn my head to see The Script walking down the street to approach me. I couldn't believe it, they went outside in the cold to personally hand deliver my signed belongings. We spoke and got to know each other a bit. They're completely down to earth. I was even filmed for a show in Ireland. What an experience! Now I know the feeling of being the luckiest girl in the world :D

Joshua Radin was a great opener and The Script was everything and more than I expected them to be. Seeing them live has made them one of my favorite bands! It was an interesting mix of people (alot of parents and younger kids) which I wasn't expecting, but that just shows how wide their appeal is. Overall great show and the venue was perfect!

My Fiance and I had an amazing time!! To be honest, we were a little weary of how they would perform live and we were blown away at how great they were! The intimacy The Electric Factory provides was a perfect venue for this concert. Thank you for putting on a great show guys!! Next time you are in Philly I will definitely be in the crowd again!

I took my daughter & some of her friends for her 14th birthday & it was amazing. The Script are an amazing band that on 11/5/10 made music & also made my daughters dream come true...Mark wished her a happy bithday, she got a guitar pic & a set list! And after the show we waited outside & she was able to get her shirt signed by Danny & he also wished her a happy birthday. I loved their music before this show & now I also admire them for the wonderful Irish gents they are. Their moms obviously raised them right!

Terminal 5 was alright--not too upscale, but definately the place for a show like this. The opening act, Joshua Radin, was a little long winded and people around me were not very enthusiastic. When the script came on, the vibe completely changed. The guys put on an amazing show, and made it very personal. They performed all of their songs and did so with such enthusiasm and really got the crowd involved. You could see the excitement in the band's eyes when the audience sang their songs back to them. Danny even jumped into the crowd...it was unbelievable. Over all, a great show and definately hit home with the lyrics. The concert really got you in tune with the band and it was definately one of the best shows I've been to. The Script was AMAZING, can't wait to see them again :)

I had a pleasure to be at both concerts on Nov 4th and 5th and I can honestly say that The Script are the best live act that I've ever seen. Their songs are universal, their story is heartfelt, they connect to each and every person through their beautiful music. Behind every song there's a story, you listen to the lyrics and you just feel the emotion that each song projects... If you want to have an unforgettable music experience - go see The Script!

The Script puts on the best live show and this performance didn't dissappoint. You can see their passion all over their faces and they leave it all on the stage. If you only chose one concert a year to go to...this should be the one

UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING!!!! They rocked the house in NY at Terminal 5 with their obvious originality and true musical talent. I heard something so different, and so edgy, the very first time I heard their first, and self entitled, album with "We Cry", "Before the Worst", "Man Who Can't be Moved", "If You See Kay", "Breakeven" and EVERY track on that CD. I immediately knew I had to see them live BUT seeing them in NY quite frankly BLEW ME AWAY!! They far exceeded my expectations!!! I can't remember the last time I left a concert feeling that moved and excited. I was already a fan, and now after seeing them live, I'm their number one advocate and supporter, and have told everyone I know about how amazing they are. They also WOWed me with the intimacy they share with their audience, and the warm sense of humility they bring on stage! AND my goodness they're all so adorable! (Including their guest musician on bass/keys!!) I'm blessed to have been there WITH them in NY. CAN'T WAIT to see them again!!

I would definitely see The Script again in concert! Although it wouldn't be the same in a large arena, I would still go. The Norva is a great venue where the audience is up close and personal with the artists. There isn't much seating available, but we managed to get a table and a couple of stools--20 feet from the stage! The boys from The Script put on a high-energy show and sounded fantastic! I often prefer recorded over live music, but this was definitely an exception! Usually, the lead singer speaks for the whole band, and you don't get much interaction from the other members. Not so with The Script! Each of them addressed the crowd, and they also teased each other throughout the show.

The Script put on one hell of a show. The guys were amazingly funny and extremely personable. They interacted with everyone in the room and sounded AMAZING. They all definitely have the raw talent necessary to become one of the best bands there is. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if these guys end up as big as U2. Just amazing. Period. Best show I have EVER been to and I would go see them again in a heartbeat. If you have a chance to see them, DO IT! It doesn't matter what it costs you, DO IT! You won't regret it!

It was soooo nice to see these lads in such an intimate venue before they really explode. Such talent with each member of the band, very interactive with the fans. They bring a new vibe, upbeat yet soulful approach to the music. Overall, a must see when they come back to Norfolk, Virginia.

The group put on a show that was the best that I have seen for some time. Very personable guys who connected with their audience. They talked to us and made us laugh. They showed us that they really appreciated our attendence and excitement. Would see them again and again. Thanks for having them NORVA....

The Script is an amazing AMAZING band to see live. Their energy is beyond words! They interact with their crowd by letting us sing a few of their songs, they took pictures & posted them on facebook/twitter. They met with fans and talked with them, signed autographs and took photos. They told drunk stories about each of the band mates, they are Irish so there was some drinking involved on stage but nothing to be freaked out about, very casual guys. Overall, they were absolutely fantastic to see live. I would def recommend THE SCRIPT to everyone =)
