This is the second time that my Wife and I have seen the Ventures perform at the Birchmere and they are still great. We love this venue and the performers that they book.

Bob Spalding is a MASTER guitarist with a unique sound. This is THE REAL SURF MUSIC. Leon Taylor is THE BEST drummer I have heard in 10 years of going to the Birchmere. It was just an outstanding show; no talk, just wall to wall Surf Music.

It was fun. I would recommend seeing them. All instrumental songs but fun songs to play and listen to. They have a lot of classic surf songs that everybody has heard even if they don't realize it.

A wonderful show and, after all these years, they still bring such a high level of energy and excitement, particularly group leader, Don Wilson who is nearly 80 years old! All the great hits were played and "Ghost Riders in the Sky" and "I Got a Woman" were standouts. Nokie Edward's with his "finger-pickin "style has to be one of the best rock guitarists on the planet. The audience really appreciated the group's "meet and greet" segment where they signed autographs, album covers etc. The Ventures and their fans have a mutual love for each other. Please bring them back for a longer series of concerts at B.B. Kings.

Opened with Walk Don't Run and closed with Caravan A lot if touching history, personal recollections from Rock and Roll Hall of Fame guitar players and a fantastic drummer. My son CJ was inspired to play guitar from the likes of Bryan Adams and this band. My older son Ryan plays a good number of their songs on drums. This was a dream to listen live to a group that inspired kids everywhere to pick up an instrument and play. Just Awesome! Hope they keep playing!

Their music is still played by radio stations and is listened to by young and old a like. Don't miss out on the opportunity to see and listen to the music from the all time greats!
