We have seen Duran numerous times and unfortunately in the past couple of years the set list has become so completely predictable that many life long fans are becoming frustrated. Duran Duran has such talent with a large catalog yet they continue to play it safe.

Amazing night! 5000 seat outdoor venue, it was understated (none of the glam of the 80's Duran Duran) and all about the music. And they rocked! For almost 2 whole hours they turned out song after song after song. Even the children were on their feet the whole time, dancing and singing. The amps weren't too loud like they so often are at concerts, everything was crystal clear, and there's nothing quite like singing Save A Prayer with Simon Le Bon under the light of the moon! If you ever sang along to one of their songs, go see them this summer, really, they're at the top of their game! Venue - Marymoor is a great venue. Well organized, clean, good sound, child-friendly, great place!

Ok- So I admit it... I am an 80's girl and really was thinking this was going to be the revival of me infront of my little 22 inch screen TV circa 1982 watching JJ from MTV anouncing the Hungry Like a Wolfe video, I was excited, I was ready and what can I say I had a crush on almost every member of Duran Duran. So as the concert started at Marymoor Sunday night.... it was 1984 all over again! Yes, we are "all" a little more wrinkled and the stretch pants have been long since put away but other than that, it was just like the old days. They were incredible! They mixed old, new and I have a new appreciation for DuranDuran as great musicians.

My husband and I had a wonderful time last night. I was brought back 25 years ago last night at the concert when I first heard Duran Duran. They sound and look the same and it was such a surreal moment to see them again after all these year. The music sounds awesome. The crowd friendly and happy. The park was perfect as well as the weather and staff. At first, I was not looking forward to the parking and crowd after the show but it was handled well and I was impressed. I hope Duran Duran will come back again next year. I will definitely be there!

The concert was fabulous! The played a ton of old songs scattered in with a few from their new cd "Red Carpet Massacre" which is a great cd. It was sunny, almost everybody was up and dancing, you couldn't have asked for a better time. I also love that you can bring in food and drinks to the venue.

Beautiful venue, easy to get in and out of. The talent? Better than EVER! They still put on a great show, this one was truly for the fans...no promo's to push...just us! What I DON'T get at any outdoor venue is why people pay good money to come and get trashed and NOT pay attention to the show? Who does that at this stage of life?...I'm a fan..what I am not is...not trying to relive 1984 and get hammered at a show!! I can enjoy a few cocktails and loosen up to have fun, but I will remember the performance, the company I keep and not step on anyones toes. So glad they came to Seattle and played such an amazing venue....now if we could just screen out the stupid people!!

Duran Duran truly gets better with age. They are consumate peformers - tearing through their hits with relish and loving every moment. New guitarist Dom Brown fits in with Roger, Simon, Nick and John without even a passing thought about Andy Taylor. The Summer Tour pulls out almost all of the hits - only missing a few like "Is There Something I Should Know" and "New Moon on Monday." They even pull an Arcadia song from their extensive catalog and back-up singer Anna Ross gets a chance to channel Grace Jones. These boys are not to be missed.

What a great way to end a holiday weekend. Four of the original five members of the band on a short summer tour that started at Marymoor Park just outside of Seattle. Simon sounded great, as did John, Roger and Nick. A great variety of old and new music, including a James Bond medley that lead to a very slowed down version of "A View To A Kill." Some of the song transitions were a little off, but it was a great show overall.

After being Duran-Duran'ed thoroughly during my youth, to go to this concert so close to home - I live around the corner from the stage - was a must. And a great flashback it was! They played the whole setlist they are known for plus some "skeletons out of the closet with some meat added" for a good 2 hours. Venue was great and the folks attending also - the concert had two wrinkles: opening act dind't crank up the mood as much as they could have and there was a 5sec feedback-glitch in the audio system at one point.

This was my 3rd Duran Duran show in the past 3 years. What an incredible band, and a great show! You always wonder when a band gets back together after so long, if they will sound the same or as good. Duran Duran does both. They sing as though they were still in their 20's, with the same passion and fun as in my youth. They are also still beautiful to look at, and have a great rapport with the crowd. Being outside and enjoying the outdoors for this event just made it sweeter. As Simon LeBon said last night, "We like to think of ourselves as the cherry on top of the cake on your holiday weekend!" I am a very grateful and happy fan!!! Much love to Duran Duran.

Duran Duran has to be one of the best live acts going, with a performance so faithful that it could have come right out of a studio. Simon Le Bon and crew tore through 19 of the band's most popular songs, giving the crowd exactly what they wanted to hear. Truly an unforgettable concert for Duran Duran fans or anybody who loves 80's music. Can't wait to see them again!

It is nice when a band sounds like their record, particularly when they are on the tail side of their career. It was funny to feel like I was at a bad high school reunion. The music was entertaining and Simon had great step in his performance. It is what you would expect and more, go if you enjoyed their greatest hits or are one of those that actually knew the words to the handful of random songs they played.

Seen hundreds of concerts but this was one of the best. Duran Duran had never been to Honolulu before (they said one of the few major cities they've missed) but they more than made up for it by putting on a truly incredible performance. I have to say that I wasn't a particularly big fan in the 80s but the decades have been incredibly kind to this group. Their voices are still great, they can still jam, and their music has really held up (it doesn't sound at all dated unlike many other major groups from the 70s and 80s). The laser show and videos dazzled. And the two female backup singers were AMAZING!; their energy and dancing and singing were totally mesmerizing (think I'm in love). Thank you, Simon and group, for finally playing in Paradise. Please come back.

Duran Duran did not disappoint one bit, with the exception they could have played a couple more hours for me...Roger mentioned in an article that they have the misfortune of having too many good songs to be able to play them all in a show. How true is this...looking back at my videos/pictures you can hear people singing along, almost as loud as Simon, sometimes louder. While the age demographic is a lot older than it was back in the day you can tell they haven't missed too many steps with these fans...I even took my concert buddy to her first Duran Duran concert and she stated next time she was definitely there. :) I will definitely be there the next time they are in Atlanta...My inner teenager will not let me miss it!

I saw Duran Duran in concert for the first time in March 1984 as a 13 year old girl. I have seen them many times since, this being my seventh concert. It was incredible. They have so much energy and mix their classic hits - like Rio, Girls on Film, Hungry Like the Wolf and Careless Memories with their new music, and everything in between! There are few bands who have stood the test of time like Duran Duran. Their concerts are so much fun! They really know how to entertain the crowd and encourage everyone to participate. Even if you just know a couple of Duran Duran's songs, I would highly recommend seeing them live! You will not be disappointed. The only negative I can say about this particular show at Hard Rock Live was that it seemed that the front row seats were primarily taken by Hard Rock employees - many of whom didn't seem to have much interest in the show itself. It would have been nice to have allowed true fans to be in those prime spots.

Great show lots of fun singing the classics. Disappointed in the end a bit for not playing "The Reflex" I use to burn that track as a kid. Overall a nice show with cool backgrounds and confetti! A view to a kill was bad ass. It started with the classic 007 gun barrel opening. They ended with "Rio" and the lady cover in the background. Lots of light effects were a bonus.

I almost sold my tickets, after reading so many bad reviews about parking, security, seating, etc. I will never trust reviews again. Parking was a BREEZE. We were about 100 feet from the entrance and at 6pm, the parking lot was virtually empty. Security and entrance was also excellent. We bought the tickets on a whim, so we had to get the Balcony seats for $39.50. When we got there, to my absolute amazement, we were upgraded to the Orchestra seats. That's from Section 309 to Section 102. I almost cried. I have been a fan since I was 13 years old. I am now 50. I have seen the band 8 times, and this show ranks at the top. The acoustics were perfect. The stage show was INCREDIBLE and I got to see "My Wild Boys" perform with all of the energy of the 80s. I am still "riding the high" that I got that night. I will definitely recommend and will DEFINITELY be back.

We bought Gold VIP tickets to see Duran Duran, because my husband loves the 80's. This was the first time that we've been to the Smart Financial Center and it was a great theatre and our seats couldn't have been better. There was no back up band, just Duran Duran for almost 2 hours. It's so great to see real musicians putting on a great show with lots of hits and totally engaging the audience. Just to see Simon Le Bon's face when he was singing let me know how much he really loves it. The whole band was fabulous including the two wonderful back-up singers who sang and danced throughout the entire show. My husband really loved the show and I've gained a whole new respect for the band. Even Simon Le Bon made a speech on how they were affected by the terrorist attack in London earlier that day and how we will not give in to fear. Great show. Thanks to the entire band and crew for coming to Sugarland, TX.

I've Duran a lot. The span has been across 32 years but this was my 50th show. I've seen the original 5. I saw them reunited. I've seen them when they were being sued by another, I've seen them in amphitheatersome. I've seen them when it was me and 100 other people. I've seen them when there were three and when there were two. I've seen them at Seven and the Ragged Tiger and I've seen them at Liberty. The one thing these guys aren't capable of doing is disappointing. They continue to make magic after all these years. Adding Nile Rogers back into the mix was nothing short of genius. This show was amazing! The lights went down and a jumped up. I didn't even think of sitting down from Paper Gods to Rio. The energy at a Duran Duran concert takes me to my most favorite place. It's always magical and this night was no less. Ringing in the New Year with my boys! I woke up on New Years day with thighs that hurt from dancing and a hoarse voice from singing for two straight hours.

To be honest I was not expecting much from the show. I was a fan of Duran Duran in the 80's, and thought they could be a bit "tired" especially on the tail end of a tour, but I was terribly wrong. My wife and I, along with another couple attend many concerts and we felt this was one of the best we have seen in quite some time. Simon sounded so good that I thought perhaps he was lip-syncing...he was NOT, and he really-really sounds as good as he did 25 years ago...amazing. The venue was GREAT, the staff at Choctaw was GREAT...I really can't think of anything negative to say, other than the guys did not play "Is Their Something I Should Know"...we wanted to hear that tune. What a place, and what a show!! I will highly recommend the venue to my friends.

I have been a fan of Duran Duran since 1982, but for one reason or another life prevented me seeing them live. That changed and not only did they look just as great as they did then, Simon, they sounded amazing. Simon started my addiction to music, more specifically to hot lead singers and all these years later I remembered why. The venue was perfect. Not a bad seat anywhere to be found, the sound was perfect, and I was quickly taken back to my youth and could not have been happier. Thank You Duran Duran for being the soundtrack of my life. Duran Duran is one of the most underrated bands. They are pure talent and give an excellent performance with two hours of great music that keeps you on your feet and dancing. Simon is ever the charismatic front man and his vocals are on point this tour. Unfortunately, Nick was not there due to a family issue, but his replacement MNDR did a fantastic job! John, Simon, & Dom do a great job of engaging the audience and inviting them to sing along. Anna & Erin, the back up singers are extremely talented. The lighting & visual effects in the show are entertaining as well. I've been to 9 of their concerts since the 80's & they still have it.

I have been a Durannie all of my adult life from when I first heard them in the late 70s. Got to see them numerous times when I still lived back east and then in Phoenix back in 2008. To get to see them AGAIN after their amazing album Paper Gods was another dream come true. These guys ROCKED the audience and the entire night was worth it! They just keep getting better! Simon was phenomenal. Even though I'm the same age of these guys, Wednesday night in Glendale made me feel like I was back in time 30-35 years. Nile Rodgers was awesome, and the tribute to David Bowie showed just how humble and grateful Duran Duran is to the people who helped changed their lives and make them who they are today. Chic was surprisingly good as the opening act... I had forgotten just how many hits they had, and I had forgotten how many songs Nile wrote or produced for others (which you are quickly reminded of as they play a healthy selection of them)! Once Chic had the crowd on their feet... they never sat down. Standing and dancing for the whole of the Duran set which kicked off with the title track of the new album, Paper Gods and followed by the classics Wild Boys, Hungry Like The Wolf, and A View To A Kill. The show was a perfect mix of songs from the new album and the hits of years past. Paper Gods, Last Night In The City, What Are The Chances, and Pressure Off were all played from the new album, there was a great version of Planet Earth which featured a chorus of Major Tom whilst a photo of David Bowie was projected onto the big screen, and they opened the encore with a perfect version of The Chauffeur. I only gave this 4 stars out of 5 for two reasons... First, for personal (and unknown at this time) reasons Nick Rhodes was not playing. He had to go back to England to "handle some affairs". I can only imagine leaving a US tour without public explanation means something very serious is going on, and I of course wish Nick and his family/ loved ones the very best... but his absence was felt. You wouldn't think it as he stands behind the keyboards, letting John, Simon, and Dom bounce around the stage, but without Nick there... it was glaringly obvious how much he provides to the Duran Duran stage presents and aesthetic. Second, they decided to balance the promotion of the new album with a nostalgia tour of the 80's/90's classics... omitting everything from the Liberty, Medazzaland, Pop Trash, Red Carpet Massacre, and All You Need Is Now albums. From all of the "recent" albums, only Reach Up For The Sunrise was played from the Astronaut "reunion" album. Now, the show went off without a hitch, the fill-in keyboardist was great and the time was allotted to everyone's favorite cuts... such as Rio, Save A Prayer, Ordinary World, and The Reflex, but being admittedly a life-long fan, I was a bit disappointed we didn't get an odd surprise in the live show... a rendition of Winter Marches On, or Do You Believe In Shame. Maybe one of the lesser known b-sides like Faster Than Light or Late Bar. In closing, the concert is a must-see for anyone into funk, pop, or classic 80's music in general. Many memories came flashing back as the hits of days gone by were played live again... putting you right back to 1984, or depending on your experience, maybe 1994. The new album is fantastic and the concert does have a balanced attack of old and new. The girls still scream, the audience still dances and sings along to all the hits, and in the end it was a great concert, well worth the price of admission. My only regrets, as stated, were that Nick was not on stage and that there were no "deep cuts" played for the true DD fans.

Ok, so Chic was amazing-a non-stop dance party worthy of a show unto itself... I was so wore out after their set I didn't know if I'd have any energy left for the main act! But Duran started with the amazing performance and visual presentation of the excellent title track Paper Gods and just kept getting better and better and better! Could easily have ended satisfactorily with the main set but they came back with Save A Prayer (dedicating it in purple to Prince) and Rio, complete with huge beachballs bouncing around the audience which I managed to hit twice! Seriously grooved for every bit of it and was super tired all the next day! Super amazing show, a non-stop blast! My only complaint would be it was too light on representing their entire catalog, with 1995-2014 almost completely ignored. But the new album was well represented (but AYNIN wasn't at all... Weird!).

I wasn't that familiar with Chic (the opening band) before the show, but I knew "Le Freak" and a couple other songs. I also knew they had a HUGE influence on Duran Duran and that they were continually partnering with Nile Rodgers, so I ensured we got to the show in plenty of time to see this great opening act. They were BEYOND amazing. I am now a huge fan! They put on a great show - the music is so danceable and contagious! Nile's guitar playing is AMAZING - one of the best I've ever seen. And the funky bass is to die for!!! Loved it. After seeing them, if that was the end of the show, I would have been satisfied, but then Duran Duran came on and - WOW! I'm probably the "typical" Duran Duran fan that has loved them and their music for over 30 years. Their energy and excitement to put on a great show was not diminished over the years. Everything about the show was awesome - the music, naturally, and the screen images, lighting, etc. just added to the visual interest. We did miss Nick Rhodes, but the woman who filled in was amazing as well. I've been to TONS of concerts over the years and this may be the best one yet!!!

Yes, all of the above describe my experience at the Chic/Duran Duran show at the BB&T Pavilion on Thursday, July 21, 2016. I've been a lifelong Duran Duran fan, and was finally in the right place at the right time to get PIT FRONT ROW CENTER tickets to the band that I have worshipped most of my 44 years on this planet. From the moment my friend and I arrived and were shown to our seats we knew it was going to be worth every single penny we paid, and then some, and it was! This is the 4th show I've been to on the Paper Gods tour, and sadly also my last. But what a way to close out this tour!

This show was amazing. They played all the old favorites and a bunch of new songs. I liked the new songs live better than on cd.

Great show, great venue, tremendous energy. Simon was money, can't believe they rocked a solid two hours. They did a great job blending the classics with the new Paper Gods album material. It was a little disappointing that Nick Rhodes couldn't make it, but overall this show was a solid 4 stars without question.

What A thrill to see my favorite band from the 80's perform live! I thought the set list was perfect and very well balanced, including most of my favorites! I wish I could attend more concerts during this tour, but I'm hoping they come back again soon!! I thought the price of admission was worth every penny. Keep doing what you do, Duran Duran! I'm a fan for life!!!

Great concert. Too many times you go to a concert and are disappointed that the artist doesn't live up to the album. Not the case here great vocals, great stage presence, and awesome music....

After waiting years to see Duran Duran live, they did not disappoint. As a special surprise, I was upgraded from section 200 down to section F8 on the floor. (This area was just behind the Press Section). Awesome! There were two opening acts: a young female songwriter named Shamir and the 70s dance band, Chic. Chic were amazing! Having been born in the 70s, I recall my mum playing them on constant repeat. Their funky sound was worthy precursor to DD's electronic music. Natch, they played their hits "Le Chic", "Dance, Dance, Dance" and "I Want Your Love" to an eager crowd. Duran Duran came on stage at 2115 (9:15 PM) to rapturous applause. Their set was a mix of their classics ("Planet Earth", "Wild Boys", "Notorious", etc) and their new album ("Paper Gods", Pressure Off", "Danceophobia", etc). Simon's vocal range is still impressive, and he can still cover each side of the stage. They did one encore ("Save a Prayer" and "Rio") . The venue acoustics were awesome. Yes, I was dancing much of the time, even in my limited space. They are well worth a rocking night out!

I usually don't review events but this one I had to share my thoughts. It is not only because I was front row and Nile with Simon and Nicky signed my vinyl albums but because Nile Rodgers and his band kicked off the fun and incredible dance night. I could see a whole evening of Chic with Nile Rodgers but add some Duran Duran lost dance songs and other classics to make a glorious groove party. Both bands tribute to fallen musician David Bowie was inspirational. A very memorable evening.

Ive always been a Duran Duran fan and have seen them multiple times. My last concert was 1993 so I was extremely excited to see them again. Their performance was upbeat and perfect as always. They performed a mixture of the greatest hits along with some of the songs from the new album. Chic opened for them and that was a band I had never seen before but knew the music. Their performance got the crowd going with the 70s disco vibe along with some modern songs Nile Rodgers has worked on with popular artists. I am so glad that I got to experience that.

Fun!! I'm usually more of a hard rock fan but couldn't miss the opportunity to see this show. They still look and sound fabulous. The tributes to David Bowie and Prince were really nice. The only song they didn't perform was the Reflex. It's such a smart idea to send out copies of their new music so you can familiarize yourself with it. Chic was also very entertaining. I was surprised that I still knew the lyrics to their songs. The weather was perfect which was an added bonus.

This was the second time seeing DD in concert. They kept the crowd dancing the entire time. They sounded & looked fantastic. I've been a fan since the 4th grade & now 44 years old. I will see them every time I am able to. Please have them back at the Verizon Center. Next time, I'll be sure to get seats one section up. Floor seats are awesome except when the person in front of you is 6 foot tall!

This is my 8th time seeing Duran Duran and as always, the never disappoint! Having Nile Rodgers and Chic as opening act was the icing on the cake. Duran always does a good job of peppering in the new with the old hits to satisfy everyone in the audience. It was high energy with no indication that they had been doing this show on the road for weeks. Still seemed fresh!

Duran Duran descended upon the Verizon Center with their good friend Nile Rodgers and ignited a dance celebration. They played songs all across their 3 decade career with sheer energy and a passion to infect all with their musical prowess. From the new releases from "Paper Gods" to their classic hits, the group was in fine form throughout the night. If you are a fan of 80's pop/rock this is a must see show. If you are a Duran Duran fan then attendance is mandatory!

This was my third time seeing Duran 2 over a span of 35 years. I am a true fan and they are my all time favorite group. This show was the best for me because it was standing/general admission. I was as close as I could be without paying an excessive amount. Songs were phenomenal. Energy of the crowd was great. I am proud to say Duran Duran fans are some of the best on "Planet Earth". The Miami show was fantastic. Chic opening was extra bang for your $$. I go to many shows and the "upfront" staff was pleasant (not bossy or rude). The fans all get along well. Duran Duran themselves sound amazing. My husband went back about 10 rows (I was in the front row) and said the sound system and vocals were spot on clear throughout the venue. The played for quite a long set & I had a blast!
