I surprised my husband and took him to the Jazz Spectacular at Freedom Hill on Fathers Day. He was all smiles the entire time. We had an awesome time. All the performers and musicians were just awesome. Can't wait until the next Jazz Spectacular.

Jay Soto open the show and set the tone for a spectacular night. The gentlemen of the night ( Paul Taylor, Marion Meadows, and Warren Hill) performance was awesome. I could watch their performance over again and still enjoy it. Jeff Lorber closed out nicely for all those serious Jazz audience, however I personally enjoyed the earlier groups. It's a must see, you will not be disappointed.

Nice venue, close and comfortable, friendly hosts. Music was fabulous....Jeff Lorber was at his best, but the added feature of Warren Hil on sax was even greater than anticipated. Free drinks was also an added plus to the evening. We will be back soon.

One of the best shows I've seen in a long time at Jazz Alley. The band was crisp and clean and played with the kind of groove of a group of guys who've been together much longer than they actually have. I've been listening to Jeff since the seventies and this was the first time since then that the lineup was able to match the kind of performances that I remember from back then. The return to the "fusion' was a return to what made Jeff stand out way back when.

Although there was a technical hitch with sound system to Jeff's keyborads, one would have not known if not for one of the sound technician who was scrambling around the stage. The band from Ft Worth could and should be touring with some of the biggest names in the business. The Lead guitarist and Bass man were so in tuned to each other their playing off of each other blew my wife and I away. Marion Meadows show closer of Chameleon was totally awe-inspiring and deserved the standing ovation that he recieved. Jeff performed a couple of his old tunes from the 80's and took me back to when I was in Tacoma, WA and got my 1st taste of Jeff Lorber Fusion in Seattle. Great, Great Concert.

Into Jazz Fusion??? A must have experience. Features a pianist with a career expanding decades. Has worked with the likes of Miles Davis to Kenny G. To say that he is talented is an understatement. The other musicians in his group are equally as talented and have reputable associations in the music business. It will be an unforgettable experience if you attend one of their concerts... Do yourself a favor and get a ticket now. Come watch them go to town on their respective instruments and cohesively as a group. Leave on a high from their wonderful artistry.

This is a Berks favorite since Chuck Loeb, et. al. started it a few years back. It is one of my favorites. I've seen every show since it began. This performance was wonderful on these classic old tunes. Keep it going next year!!

My husband and I had the most amazing Father's Day. The concert was close to home. The parking was free and we were in and out with great ease. I saw a lot of classmates that I had not seen in years. Great job who ever put it together. The artists were awesome.

It was great! I loved that may of the jazz greats were on the stage at the same time. Rachelle Farrell's voice and range were AMAZING, but it was difficult to hear everything when she hit the softer notes. She also did not sing my favorite song :( The only problem with that was I WANTED MORE! I left the concert with a playlist to download.

Rachelle Ferrell come on Girl, we Love You, give us more of your greatest hits. Kenny Lattimore, Gerald Albright, Jonathan Butler Awesome !!!! Najee, Alex Bugnon, sorry I missed you had to leave. I loved Michael Lington, Avery Sunshine. All and All Great show. I wished it started earlier. Had to check out Labron. Strongly suggest VIP Parking, or get to Freedom Hill early, those rocks in the General parking lot were not shoe friendly to the ladies. Also with a concert that long, how about some more food vendors, just a thought.

"Meh," is the best word that I could think of to describe this particular Jazz Spectacular. The two standout stars of this event are Kenny Latimore, (which was unexpectedly good), and Avery Sunshine. I wish she were headlining a concert sometime soon in my area. Johnathan Butler's performance was also decent. Everyone else, with exception of the last set performed by Najee and Me'lissa Morgan because we left before seeing their performance, was just ok. Rachelle Farrell became quite annoying and her performance is what prompted our exit, (not to mention that we were missing an epic NBA finals game). The other performers didn't really perform enough of the hit songs that made them popular to mainstream audiences. I think that the schedule could have been arranged better, by having Najee perform either during the middle or near the beginning; and giving Avery Sunshine, Johnathan Butler's set, and Kenny Lattimore's set more time to perform. I'm also bummed that I missed Jeff Lorber's performance at the beginning, since it took nearly 40 minutes just to make it into the amphitheater parking lot. Freedom Hill needs to get their parking situation in order also. If I could give any advice, it would be to get there very early and just pay for lawn seats. You can bring an umbrella to shield the sun, snacks (no drinks), your own chairs, and a blanket. This is the best option so that you don't have to be stuck sitting so close to annoying neighbors in those tiny seats. I also didn't really care for seeing so many police in full uniform while attending a jazz concert. What did they expect to really happen with the age group of this crowd? I would have rather seen security dressed in plainclothes. To see all of the uniforms, made me feel like it was militarized, and like they felt like they needed to keep "these folks" in line here in Macomb Township. Yet another reason why I didn't enjoy my experience fully. The crowd was also kind of annoying as well, with people smoking nearby and a couple of drunk idiots arguing (which made me nervous). I could have saved my money and just stayed home.

I last saw the Jeff Lorber Fusion when Kenny G was barely 21. I saw them in a bar in Cleveland. One of the best shows I've been to so the memory made me hesitant he would not live up to my memory. Jeff did not disappoint. The smaller Venue was perfect. We were in the front row of the balcony. I too have been a Yellowjackets fan since their inception so seeing Jeff and Jimmy Haslip together was a real treat. These guys are tuned to amaze. I took three non-jazz listeners to the show and they could barely sit still. I'd also like to commend the opening act, though I missed their name. They were a tight group that really warmed up the audience.

Jeff Lorber Fusion was a real delight to watch at the Gem Theatre. His tight band really kicked out some fabulous jazz fusion. Mr. Lorber should put KC on his tour schedule more often.

One of the best keyboardists around. Solid performances by the band mates. Good mix of old and new stuff. Been a fan since college in the 80s (seriously), so I really liked hearing new versions of the older material.

Band was great. When I bought the ticket the advertised rhythm section was Vinnie Coaiuta and Jimmy Haslip. I knew Lionel Cordew was subbing for Vinnie but I was disappointed that Haslip also subbed the gig out. That would have been an awesome lineup. Not to sayJeff wasn't great and the sax player was exceptional (sax not being my fave instrument anyway) but with Vinnie and Jimmy it would have been electric!

This was an amazing show given by some of the greatest jazz musicians around! Each of the performers was simply amazing!. The band was great, also. Hopefully, all of them will return to Fayettevile and the Explosion will become an annual event here that I would attend and reccommend. Better/more advertising was needed for this event!
