Expensive. Others' reviews have already gone play by play. I'm glad I went, having never have seen them before. But I would not go again. It was, even for a metal show, simply unnecessarily too loud. I brought ear plugs, but I should have gone and had my ears sewn shut for the weekend and wore a pressurized deep diving suit. It was not physically pleasant listening. And, they did not do "Carry On" which was disappointing. The documentary segments were unnecessary as well.

Truly an awesome show. They rocked it from start to finish. I hope that they received the respect they are due from all of the US Manowarriors so that they will tour the US again soon, as they say they will. Look forward to seeing them again real soon. HAIL AND KILL.

Manowar was spectacular! An unbelievable experience. To only know 4 other people when I first arrived to feeling like I knew the entire crowd after. The first show I've seen where TRULY everyone was united as one. The way they can unite their fans is unlike any other group. There were fans at this show from every part of the world. And that isn't just blowing smoke up your ass. And Holy Hell closed their set with one of the best covers of Holy Diver I have ever heard.

I have to say, that was the best show I've ever experienced in my life! I am glad I didn't have to go to Europe to see this band. I will certainly travel to see them again in the future! You can tell that they have been performing and perfecting their shows since they started in 1980 by their attention to detail and flawlessness, and especially their devotion to their fans. Nice to see a band care about the experience their fans have!

Absolutely amazing! ! Many complained about the price @ first but in the end everyone was more than satisfied. They truly live up to there name "The Kings Of Metal" . Their live show sound is absolutely superb ! They have the best P.A systems in music today . No other band comes close to the pure power of sound and even if your not a fan or never heard of Manowar you have to experience it before you judge it .

There are not enough words to describe Manowar in concert...but I will give you some highlights. First of all, this was the BEST sounding concert that I have ever been to...VERY loud and crystal clear, what an AWESOME mix. Secondly, Manowar gives back every bit of energy back that the crowd gives them...and we gave our all. And lastly, the Manowar fans are the kindest, truest, most respectable, hardcore people that I have EVER had the honor of meeting! HAIL AND KILL! I have waited over 20 years for this concert, and now my goal is to see Manowar on every continent in the world...and hopefully every year from now on. DO NOT MISS A CHANCE TO SEE THE GREATEST HEAVY METAL BAND IN THE WORLD.

Best concert I've been to yet. Can't begin imagine just how amazing it would have been in an arena with the stage props they use in Europe. They need to come back several times a year But it does piss me of that like every venue for every opening band they give them crappy sound quality so the main band looks better. Manowar for sure did not need any help to look better. Could not hear their base or keyboards. Vocal equalizer shoddy too

Let it be known that any who speak against Manowar, are nothing but lairs and posers. Both nights were the best shows I ever saw. I never heard a louder and clearer show. It was so loud it could stop the heart, but the pounding of Donnie's drums would have a defibrillator effect. It was like getting kicked in the torso repetitively. Each member played superbly, and had a great onstage attitude. They truly love and care for their fans. It was really worth traveling 500 miles and the price of the tickets to see them. I can't wait for their return.

What's not to like about Manowar? The band demonstrated on this, the first of two nights at the Agora, the moxie and talent that shows just why their fans have such a dedicated committment to the band. The show was advertized as starting at 7:00, so we arrived at 6:00 The doors didn't open until 8:00...not cool on behalf of the Agora, but the bands made up for it the second the doors were unlocked. Holy Hell was onstage within 5 minutes, performing a full hour of polished heavy metal, and great original songs, capping the set off with an encore of Dio's "Holy Diver". After a crisp half hour turnaround, the lights dimmed and the deep intro tape began pumping out the music leading to the regular "From The United States of America: Manowar!" announcement, then the band kicked off and there was no looking back. Two solid hours of in-your-face metal, skillfully and powerfully performed. Charismatic leader Joey DeMaio wisely doesn't hog the stage with his commanding presence, sharing the spotlight equally with guitarist Karl Logan and vocalist Eric Adams (who can still amazingly hit those high notes at full volume, defying the laws of nature and age). There is no such thing as a casual Manowar fan, and the succession of anthem after anthem showed why. As their song says: Other bands play, Manowar Kill! Great job guys!

After a very long hiatus from the United States, and especially from the NY/NJ area Manowar finally returned to the area at Starland in NJ with a fury that was reminiscent of their good old days! The show did not dissapoint with the exception of no video or pics being allowed to immortalize the show's highlights! Their classics were amazingly executed such as Manowar, Hail & Kill, Black wind fire & steel, & Death Tone just to name a few. Many fans including myself held their "hammers" high and enjoyed the triumphant return of Manowar. I certainly hope to see more local area shows from them,as Manowar seem to have favored the European crowds over the years.

This was my first Manowar show, and by far the best show I've ever seen. It was so loud that you not only saw Manowar, but FELT them, in every organ of your body. Everyone in the crowd that I talked to was an instant friend. I have learned why people follow Manowar to all ends of the earth to see them because their shows are like no other. See them before you die!!! The venue was small, and not too great and very strict with cameras and cell phones. The security guards were straight-up douchebags with their annoying flashlights and standing above the crowd. It also took forever for them to let us in, and took forever for the opening band (HolyHell) to start.

$75.00 a ticket and they did not play one song off of Into Glory Ride, Hail to England, or Sign of the Hammer. I understand they have a large catalog to choose from but those three albums are what you would call the "Classics". To ignore them completely is a travesty. I know eveyone I was with, and spoke to after the show were let down big time. Also there were enough sound and stage problems to kill any momentum the show had going for itself. I have see Manowar many times live and this was by far the worst show yet. I'm going to find it difficult to cough up another $75 to ever see them live again without a preview of the set list.

This concert was 23 years in the making for me. I've been a fan of Manowar since 1988 when I first heard their music being played during the Heavy Metal Hour, in a club called, The Orange, in Erlangen, Germany. I have been to many concerts over the years. some very good, others just O.K. The Agora, in Cleveland, Ohio, an old theatre that still holds steadfast to providing a magical place for bands to play, was a great place for Manowar to play. Simply put Manowar put on an amazing show of pure heavy metal power. Yes they are known for playing loud, but the clarity of the volume was incredible from start to finish. I dare any Heavy Metal/Rock n Roll singer to compare to Eric Adams' vocals, just fantastic! Joey Demaio's bass playing was pure excellence. Donnie Hamzik's pounding of the skins was a welcome return for Manowar. And Karl Logan's fret work on the guitar was electric. This concert was special also because Manowar played their first album Battle Hymns in its entirety. It was interesting to me because Battle Hymns didnt have the epic sound that Manowar would later be known for. It was more straight forward Heavy Metal, like breathing for the first time, and the energy from all the brothers and sisters of Metal was overwhelming in return. The perfomance that Manowar put on only comes along once in awhile. I only hope in time I can truly appreciate what Manowar gave us that night. Hail to the Kings Of Metal!

Manowar rarely performs in the US anymore, so when I heard about this show I made immediate plans to attend. The show was held at Cleveland's Agora Theater, a great mid-size concert hall with a vibe very reminiscent of venues from my hometown (Chicago) like the Riviera, Avalon & Aragon. They charge $6 for a 24-oz. beer; we were buying them 2 at a time... ;) (On a related note, the bathroom is very close to both the bar & the seating area, but it only has 6 urinals & 3 stalls so plan ahead). It was very cool to see our fellow Manowar fans from literally all over the world gathered for the show; it was somewhat less cool to wait in the merchandise line so long we missed Holy Hell's entire set, as we had never heard them live (& still haven't, as the theater's acoustics really cut the sound outside the main hall). As a consolation, Holy Hell was staying in the same hotel we were so we lucked out & met them in the elevator following Friday night's show. The show itself was fantastic, just about everything I could've wanted in a Manowar show; they played all my favorite songs & played them well. I'm honestly not terribly impressed with their latest album "Battle Hymns MMXI", which to me sounds flat & overproduced compared with the 1982 original (despite its poor recording quality), so I was a little concerned going in that they might have lost their edge. I needn't have worried. They were spot-on & absolutely bristling with energy, the Manowar of old returned. Perhaps it was the return of original drummer Donnie Hamzik that gave things the extra pop; he was tearing it up that night & you could feel his enthusiasm with every hit. Karl Logan is a great guitarist as always, but though he is perhaps a superior technical player to Ross the Boss, IMO he still lacks that undefinable punch Ross' playing always brought to Manowar. Eric Adams has incredibly not lost his edge, nailing every scream & holding nothing back. Joey is...well, Joey; still a great bassist, still a micromanaging perfectionist, still an ego big as the day is long. The show wasn't as loud as I was expecting based on previous concerts, which I attribute to a combination of the theater's acoustics and the fact that the band had apparently blown a local transformer performing the night before so they may have had to scale back their normal power requirements a touch (this is a band widely regarded as the loudest in the world, remember). Everything came through clear as a bell though, and on the plus side the reduced volume meant I wasn't deaf for two days afterward! :) All in all, this show really delivered the goods; I only hope Manowar doesn't keep us waiting so long for their next US performance!

This was the 3rd and final US leg of Manowar's 2011 tour, and was the best of the three shows. Manowar was in top form, the setlist was amazing and different from the two previous shows, the sold-out crowd was totally into the performance, and the sound was PERFECT. As expected the volume was louder than hell, but it was also crystal clear. Each pound of Donnie Hamzik's bass drum was like getting struck in the chest with a silk hammer. I can't say enough positive things about this show. It was well worth the $75 ticket price and the 12 hour road trip, and more. My only regret is that I will only get to see Manowar one more time on this tour. If you get a chance to see them, don't miss it!

From the opening note to the final farewell...an incredible performance. The band played the entire Battle Hymns album..yes I said album...from 1982, which was performed flawlessly. The band was tight, Eric did not miss a note, scream or laugh the entire night - amazing!! Joey DeMaio addressed the crowd about what it means to be Manowar and what the fans mean to them. -very well said. Just when you thought the show could not get any better, Manowar took the show to next level. Every song better and louder than the last.(20+ songs)... until finally... when the smoke did clear....the band finished with thier traditional sundering of Joey's bass guitar. It was then I realized that I was totaly spent, but strange I felt a certain pride while leaving that concert hall. One day Manowar will return and I will be there again with my bothers of metal....

Manowar currently only tours the U.S. every five or six years, so when they do come to town fans flock from all corners of the country, and indeed other nations as well, to experience the kings of metal live. For this show in Cleveland, I drove from Illinois and others from California, New York, South Carolina, British Columbia... There was at least one group there from JAPAN! I've seen a lot of concerts in the last 20 years, but nothing I've been to compares to the experience of a Manowar show. The camaraderie felt among the fans is undeniable. We are all brothers and sisters, most meeting for the first time. The most common way to greet a stranger at a Manowar concert is with, "Where are you from?" because everyone is from somewhere else. It's not uncommon for someone you've never met to buy you a beer, give you a hug and start a singalong. And the band shares this sentiment with their fans. The same devotion we show them, they reciprocate. And they put their soul into EVERY performance. The two Manowar shows I've been to are the best damn concerts I've ever been privileged enough to attend. I don't care if the next show costs $150; I'll be there.

Talk about loud! This is the way you would expect to see a band like Manowar. At first I thought tickets were relatively over-priced but then being informed that they had opted out of letting people in the balcony because it would degrade the sound quality, I understood why the price was more than I had expected. It was worth every penny and Manowar didn't disappoint.

Manowar kicked ass. Such a classic, heavy band who have never wimped out or given into commercial pressure. Their sound is incredible--both melodic and intense. Few bands have lasted as long, and these guys have not lost a note. Honestly, if you're a fan of heavy metal's roots, Manowar is the band to see. They not only honor their commitment to their fans but once you see one of their shows you will realize others pale in comparison. And speaking of their fans? They are amazing people. Never have I enjoyed being in a crowd as much as a crowd of Manowar fans. People are right; they are like a family. I hope I get the chance to see one of their shows again. Fox Theater in Pomona. Restored to Art Deco film and stage palace. Nice small venue and very good sight lines. Sound was amazing and LOUD like it should be. Even the smoking of the amplifier puts creedance into the 'Blow your speakers with Rock'n'Roll'. Eric Adam's voice was amazing as always. Joey provided Thunder on the Bass, Karl added the lightning on the guitar. Of course, Donnie kept the metal rhythm. I wish they would come and play the states more often. I need a consistent does of Metal Manowar! You do too.

The show was so epic and loud that an amp blew out after 2 songs. After replacing the amp, Manowar continued to shred and the show was extremely powerful and loud and pleasing to the eye. Great music/vocals, entertaining performance, but maybe a little too much of the show spent on letting the guitar amplifiers feedback (hence 4 of 5 stars). I had wanted to see them for years but this is the first time they were near where I lived. Definitely worth it.

Manowar sounded awesome!! Unfortunately they kept blowong their speakers. Out of the 3 hours we were there Manowar prob performed for 1.5 very dissapointing. They took several breaks and would but movie clips or music video stuff on for crowd. I would go c them again but at a larger venue, hoping they feel more pressure to rock out longer

I've been a Manowar fan since I was a kid, and they've always been one of my favorite bands. I never thought I'd actually get to see them live because they mostly play in Europe. When I saw that they were playing in Pomona, I didn't hesitate to buy tickets. It was one of the best performances ever! The loudest band in the world did not disappoint!! In fact, they blew out one of their speakers haha. Although that did cause a delay between songs, I didn't care. They played songs from their older albums and their more recent ones, so it was a really well rounded setlist, and they nailed each song. The band did take frequent breaks and during those breaks, they had a sort of band history/documentary video playing. I enjoyed it because I'm a huge fan, but I could understand how others would find it annoying or boring (my boyfriend did, he's not a true Manowarrior). To those who missed the show: It was fantastic, but fear not. Manowar has sworn to begin playing in the United States more often.

These aging metal gods put on a show of timeless energy and power. After a 30 minute delay, the bad hit the stage with a sonic deluge that was almost overwhelming. It was a case of too big of a band in too small of a venue. The bass/drums drowned out the vocals and guitar for the first few songs. The stage crew worked to get the sound in check during the first few songs. At one point, their only option was to turn drum monitors to the back of the stage to prevent everyone in the house from ruptured tympanic membranes. The band dominated the couple of hundred rabid Manowarriors present with the Manowar barbaric brand of "True Metal." Manowar tore through a set list that featured material from 1988 album "Kings of Metal." Moving from song to song like Norse warriors hacking and slashing their way through enemy after enemy. With the exception of a sermon from the band's bassist, the band let the music do the talking. There was the requisite video display, which was used well without being a crutch. This was my first time I have seen the band. I have to say, I left the venue a bigger fan than when I walked in.

Manowar was everything they claim to be. They're loud yet crystal clear because of their top notch sound system, they're filled with energy and power, and they feed off of the audience, the interaction between the band and fans is truly awesome. For a band that started and has been going strong since 1980, they're as good as ever, and sound incredible live. Not only that, the brotherhood among their fans is true, it's like a family of fans at their shows, and I was part of it as soon as I got there. I met a lot of Manowar staff, they were all very friendly. All I cans say is that if you have a chance to see Manowar, you must take it! You won't hear anything else like it, I promise.

Amazing energy! Manowar clearly has a passion for what they do. They live and breathe metal. Adams still has it - I was really impressed that they went for it with POWER, he hit the notes every time. I love the solos and on-stage insanity. Only thing I wish could be better is for the sound guys to BRING UP the vocals - no need to hide the guy! Also, one or two more ballads - Sword in the Wind would have been perfect.

What a great show! I've never been to Huntington, NY before and it was totally worth it! Manowar, as always, were complete professionals, that played every song perfectly and were completely respectful to the fans. The Paramount was a very cool venue with several bars and a nice staff. I'd love to see other shows there again. Also at the show where many fans from all over the world, Russia, South Africa, Poland and me from NJ! A great night out.

After paying $81 +fees/taxes: This was the most dissapointing show I have ever been to. I thought nothing could ever be worse than the circular stage and the dropping of ballons from the ceiling at the Metallica concert a few years ago but now I realize that at least metallica played every song I have ever wanted to hear from them live. This was not the case with ManOwar. The biggest downside for me has to be the exteremely sub-par guitar and drum solos, as well as a six minute monologue from Joey. Normally stuff like this doesn't bother me, but when you don't play "gods made heavy metal", "outlaw" or "battle hymns", and still waste time on gimmicks, I become disapointed. They claim to have the biggest amps but I didn't see anything that I've haven't seen at other shows with the exception of really good subwoofer effects for the base. Joey claimed that the reason for high ticket prices were the subwoofers and the "sound screens" they put up infront the upper seating area and side balconies. I don't know how much truth the latter part holds since the screens looked more like curtains to hide what would otherwise be empty space. By closing off other areas, the only place for people to be was the main floor and despite that, there was plenty of standing room to walk between people. The show was far from sold out and I doubt they mustered a thousand people in attendance. The performance itself was very clean and true to album versions. But the band lacked energy. There was very little headbanging, running, jumping etc. Everyone but the singer (Eric Adams) stood in the same spot practically the entire night. During the show it became very obvious that you need to buy into the idea that this is the greatest band ever and pretty much make yourself enjoy seeing and hearing them as the band doesn't try much to do that for you. Bands I've seen live that put on better shows than ManOWar live: Judas Priest/Metallica/Heaven and Hell/Blind Guardian/Ensiferum/DragonFroce/Amon Amarth/Anthrax/Machine Head/Rammstein/Dimmu Borgir/Testament.

This was the third time I've seen Manowar live, and definitely the best. They really went all out for this tour. It was a night full of kick ass songs, awesome people, and amazing (even funny) stage stunts. At different points throughout the night, Eric Adams (vocalist) introduces the other three members of the band one by one. They then play about a five minute solo with their instrument. This was the first time I'd gotten to hear Donnie Hamzik beat out a drum solo live. He was incredible. This is one of those bands where everyone in the audience is a "family" of sorts. You can walk up to anyone else and they'll have nothing but kind words. It's the only place you'll find biker gangs mingling with computer nerds and businessmen, and having a blast too. Manowar donated a lot of the money they got from the merchandise booth to Hurricane Sandy relief groups. Loudest band ever, best fans ever. Hail and kill!

The best band I ever saw. If you like Heavy Metal these are the Metal Kings! There is no way you should miss a ManOwar show unless you are Dead or Maimed and just can't make it! Even though I wished they would have played more classics like Defender, Masters of the Wind, Gates Valhalla the ones they played kicked!

This is the 3rd time I've seen Manowar. LOVE their music, they are one of my favorites and they always rock the house. But they are the ONLY band I've seen that does not allow pictures to be taken during the show. Not even with a cell phone camera. Come on guys it's 2012 not 1990. Security was WAY too tight about moshing and moving in general. This is a band you want to move to and security was in your face for even rocking too hard. Now I'd like to think this is a venue rule, but it's been the same everytime I've seen Manowar. Demaio don't give a speech about how we should be happy to pay the ticket prices and then don't even allow your fans to enjoy the show the way they want to.

Well except for the walk to the show because of Santa parade it was all I expect from the metal warriors... I loved the show and hope they change the set for Sunday because if I canwake up in time I will be there too! The drinks were flowing at the Paramount and the band was kicking ass, there was a small glitch Joey Demaio tried to fill in when a couple amps blew but they fixed it right away and was back into it louder than hell. I met 2 beautiful girls Anna and Maria tried to just bring them front and center with me but they seemed happy because they disapeared backstage a couple times anyway, they didn't need me for sure. I hope they play another set tomorrow because I might be there again since this is a once in a lifetime event! Only thing there are songs that seem to get lost like Master of the Wind Heart of Steel or Valhalla even Orson Wells Defender was missing wish they could play the classics more but still one of the best Metal bands in the world!

Manowar really put on a great show for the audience. I wish they would play more often in the area or I could afford to watch them in Europe.

In their only area appearance, MANOWAR shook the earth in classic style, keeping themselves securely atop the world of Heavy Metal! I've had a chance to see them only once before... and this performance was nothing short of amazing!!! I could not pass the opportunity to see them at Starland Ballroom... an AWESOME performance by the Kings of Metal! The opening act, HolyHell, brought an added enthusiastic performance. The musicianship, playing style, with stellar vocal performance are practically untouchable by other bands!

My 6th Manowar show. Band played great, as always. Venue was oversold. Getting out of the parking lot was a problem. Ticket prices ($100) - insane! Remember seeing Manowar for $12 just 12 years ago. Times change, I guess. Plus, had to pay $6 for parking in a puddle 4 deep. Doors were opened 45 minutes late. Not a problem in the summer, but November\u2026..? Oh yea, one last thing. Question to the band. Do you think the name Scott Columbus could have been mentioned maybe once during the show? Perhaps a song dedication? I mean the guy was with the band for over 20 years. For a band that preaches brotherhood this was out of character.
