This was a game for the ages! Early goal surrendered, then the late heroics appear once again - the tying goal late with the winner in the final minute. What an awesome home crowd, love Quakes fans! Incredible family friendly atmosphere, so many who know and appreciate the game too, great to watch in person. Stanford Stadium was perfect for the game. Sat in the 2nd deck, late afternoon sun didn't distract, wasn't too hot, and it was PERFECT for seeing one of the best fireworks show in the State! Highly recommend seeing the annual Clasico game against LA in this stadium every year!

This was my first time experiencing the Caifornia Clasico and I had a blast watching the game, while I'm a fan of both teams I was rooting for the Quakes and was so happy when they scored, especially that last goal by Shea Salinas that won the match, it was epic!!!

The new stadium is great. As a lifelong soccer fan, I am so excited about all of the Soccer Specific Stadiums being built in the US. Strictly from a standpoint of watching the game, Avaya Stadium is the best. The stands are close to the field, the rows are steep. There is not a bad seat in the house

The game was good but the parking was the worst I've ever seen. After the game we had to try and find our car in the dark what was like walking through a camp site. I had 2 small children and a pregnant daughter with me walking around for 2 hours looking for our car. We had to call my wife to come to the stadium and drive around trying to find it. All the markers and cones were taken up and it was dark. It was scary and frustrating. This was a bad experience for the children.

The game was great, the fireworks were great. I missed the first 20 minutes of the match because of security which was horrible and even in the current environment unnecessarily strict. 30 minutes before the match all entrance lines were 100 yards long. I love matches at Avaya but will never go to a Stanford event again.

Moved to Bay Area from KC. Were SKC season ticket holders when we lived in KC Pros- beautiful stadium with great sight lines. Nice food and beverage options. Cons- parking is bad for general parking, Dirt lot. Getting out of the lot post-game was problematic. took a long time, Lastly, so many empty seats, perhaps due to the heat (it was hot that night). Made for dull crowd.

The stadium is excellent with great views of the field. The parking seems to have been an afterthought however, unless of course you're a VIP where you get to park on pavement, but for us commoners we must park in the dirt (peasant parking). There is a lot of great food trucks with ridiculous prices of course and you can't find Coke anywhere, you must instead relegate yourself to drinking RC. Beware of the Tahoe Timeshare Goobs that accost all unsuspecting fools outside the entrance gate.

Avaya Stadium is well-organized & with an excellent layout! There's not a bad seat / bad view to be had. The Stadium was clean with many concessions of interest incl. the food trucks. Octoberfest entertainment was delightful. This is a fine family-fun venue. The grass area is wonderful (how grand it is to have real green in this dry / barren climate).

Sixth year in a row coming to the game. LA fans were rowdy and insulting, which is no surprise. (This is what dropped the star.) Of all the times I've been here, only one game was kind of blah. Most of these are pretty exciting. So glad we came back and tied it at the last second. My son and I were going crazy.

Love coming to this Classico game. Was told they would show US game inside the stadium. Directed by gate staff to other end of the stadium. Stanford staff told this was not true. was promising stuff they couldn't do. Just wish the other people hadn't sent me on a goose chase. Almost overheated and stopped at the tent to cool down. I'm 66 so it was a struggle for me. Ticket wands didn't work had to jump from line to line - so horrible just trying to get into stadium.

The only thing Ticketmaster has to do for their exorbitant service fees is get the tickets right, which they failed to do - we had to waste time getting our home-printed tickets reprinted at the stadium. This just added to the annoyance after waiting in traffic within sight of the stadium for 45 minutes, despite arriving 2 hours early, due to the terrible parking access. This also resulted in us sitting in uncoordinated traffic trying to empty out of the parking areas after the game for another 45 minutes. How Stanford Stadium can regularly host big events without sorting this out is beyond me. We were also gouged inside the stadium by $7 hot dogs, $7 sodas, and $5 waters. Strongly recommend you eat before going in and take in the one small bottle of water they allow. The seats were good, the game was entertaining, and the fireworks were impressive, but the nasty taste remains (and not just from the hot dog). Here's how to make it worth recommending to a friend; use the $20 from every car in the parking lot and pay for someone to figure out how to get the expected number of cars in and out in an orderly and timely manner, charge $3 for a hotdog, $3 for a soda, and $1.50 for a water, charge $1 per ticket service fee and make sure the tickets you print out actually work at the event. I'm sure everyone could still make a nice profit. None of this will happen, of course, because as long as people want to see these events and there's a monopoly on food and tickets, we have to put up with being gouged. This isn't how the free market's supposed to work.

Am a Stanford football season ticket holder for a number of years. The fans sort of ruined this game for us. First, there was a constant fall of trash and folded paper missiles fired from the upper level...including plastic water bottles and other trash. There was an announcement to stop it...but it should have been in Spanish as well as English. The LA goal keeper came out as gay some time ago...and the San Jose fans...in unison as though rehearsed to do so, yelled slurs at him whenever there was a kickoff. The whole thing was a low-class act on the part of San Jose fans. We enjoy soccer on BIEN TV...that's where we'll watch it from now on. No more Earthquakes tix for us. Last thing, many fans were too stupid or drunk after tailgating to remember where they'd parked. I bet some of them are still staggering around in the parking lot looking for their cars.

The Classico is well worth seeing, the halftime events were inspiring, and the fireworks really are a good show, even if you've seen a bunch of displays before. Here's the catch, though: if the game is at Stanford--and especially, a word of warning for anyone who has never attended an event at Stanford stadium--parking was almost comically bad. Anyone with directions or signs? Nope. Anyone in the giant fields of parking giving directions? Nope. Enormous traffic jams everywhere? You bet! Yes, the emails warned us to arrive early or take public transportation, but that shouldn't excuse a really bad parking and traffic management effort. Yes, police were directing traffic, but not in any direction; they were just managing the gigantic traffic jam (barely) moving in all directions. I've attended way more than my share of outdoor music festivals where barely-trained teenage volunteers had to park 50,000+ people in open fields every day; those teens should train the parking team for the Classico. OK. I'll stop ranting about the parking. You just need to know it's (really, embarrassingly) bad, so you can be prepared and enjoy the rest of the experience.

Not sure why these already congested areas want to add large sporting venues to residential neighborhoods. Our family left Oakland 2.5 hours before the game. We thought we could watch some warm-ups for the Earthquake v. galaxy game. We waited in line after line after line after line! We made it in just after the start of the game! We had Nachos at the half, waited in line and then got to the front and they say no more nachos! On to another line! Getting out of that place was crazy! Another 2 hours! We got home at Midnight from a 7:00 soccer game.

I bought tickets for me and my son to watch this game. Since my husband would not attend with us, I bought VIP. I knew it would be a 'different' experience and safe to go just yourself and a kid. The only concern I have is that at the entrance the machines were not working properly in order to identify the ticket. A lot of people were sent back to the admission window to double check their tickets. Where in some lines did not have no issues at all.

It was a day of soccer after 2 World Cup matches on TV and I have to say, watching on TV was a better experience than this. While the game was pretty entertaining and high-scoring, the crowd was exasperating\u2014from the annoying guy in the wresting mask screaming profanities to the upper section's obsession with throwing paper airplanes endlessly below, this was not about the beautiful game but about attention-seeking. Plus, no one was even drunk because there was NO BEER IN THE STADIUM. Ugh. I think we even heard some profanity towards the other team's goal keeper and saw some poor sportsmanship. Overall, disappointing. I think I'll stay home next time so I can focus on the game.

Never want to go to another event at standford stadium. Trying to get into the venue to park was horrible. Non-moving traffic. Expensive. The whole parking lot looks the same and it's dark by the time you go looking for your car to leave. So I was lucky to find mine after 20 minutes of looking. We had great time at the game, but getting out of the parking lot was horrendous. It took a full 2 hours to get out of the parking lot. From what I could tell it seemed like there was only one exit. There was not one person directing traffic, so 40,000 confused and frustrated people in cars were trying to figure it out for themselves. We literally spent more time in our car trying to get out of the parking lot than we spent watching the game. I would never watch another game at Stanford, and it made me question the Earthquakes organization and decision making. On the bright side, we've been to games at Avaya which were a lot better organized. The exit experience erased an otherwise enjoyable game.

The Earthquakes vs Galaxy game was played at Stanford stadium. I like the stadium, I ve gone to many football games there. But this soccer match we couldn t get there really early. So at 5:30 traffic was backed up so bad on el Camino. It may not seem like the venues fault, but then we saw how bad they were at getting cars into the parking lots and yes it was the venues fault. Then we were in line for 35 mins to get into the game. Missing first 2 goals scored! They were so slow at getting people through the gate. Earthquakes at avaya yes. And hopefully future Stanford football yes. But never again earthquakes at Stanford.

I recently re-injured my knee and had mobility problems. Had to beg not to have to park and walk 1/4 or more miles away in their non-season ticketholder parking lot. They don't even have shuttles from that very far lot to the stadium and there's an empty lot between. This is also a very duty-ashphalt parking with no trees or amenities other than port-a-potties from $20-30. Hobbled to the stadium to eat and they only have grass seating. Almost impossible if I tried to sit in the grass. No benches or chairs for fans. A suite owner let me sit in his suite which is on the ground level to eat before the game. The regular seats are a flight of stairs above. They have an elevator only for handicapped and the guy said I'm sure you're hurt but I can't give you a lift. So I took about 5 min to get up the stairs.

This was my first game at Avaya Stadium. I went there with my two sons (grown men really). There is something very natural about watching a soccer match at a Soccer only stadium. Quality of MSL has not improved much since last time I went to a match here but the stadium was the star this day, great seating, great outdoor bar, great food and great beer selection. Fabulous times was had by all. My oldest never played soccer and was not very familiar with the rules, there would have been nice if announcers did a little bit more explaining for those fans. I remember the first year the Sharks were in the Cow Palace, the announcers did a lot of explaining of the rules, because the more fans get it the more they get hooked, there is a nice hockey crowd now at the tank, you should help develop the same for Avaya.

Avaya Stadium is a triumph...open to the world, perfect for watching soccer, and cleverly designed to make the most of its surroundings in every way...including the delicious food trucks that park at the open end and the massive bar with the view of the game. Unfortunately the soccer is mediocre at best and we watched one of the most forgettable games...a 0-0 tie with three (unmerited) red cards. \\ The worst feature of this event, however, is the parking. It is unimaginably badly handled and understaffed, especially at the "silver" lot which I gave up on. A huge section is reserved for emergency parking, but the whole setup is an emergency...dusty, poorly managed, and undeserving of the good event nearby

I've been to a lot of sporting events, both professional (NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB, MiLB) and collegiate (NCAAB, NCAAF, baseball, soccer, etc), as well as Earthquakes games at Buck Shaw. This was hands down the worst parking experience I've ever had. We arrived at the stadium 40 minutes before kickoff, and were not IN the parking lot until 45 minutes later. By the time we walked through the dustbowl that was the lot and got to the stadium, we'd missed kickoff. That being said, once in the stadium, the experience was fantastic. Seats were in the shade, it wasn't too hot. Concessions were good, the stadium itself was beautiful. The stadium experience gets 5 stars, the parking gets 1. However, the parking situation was so bad it may deter me from going back.

My group took the VTA Express Bus, cost nearly half of what people pay for parking. It's probably just as fast and we didn't have to deal with getting in and out. The stadium was still in excellent condition. Checking in was swift. The food was pricey: $5.75 for bottle of water and $8.50 for garlic fries. The restroom lines did not form until the halftime and end time. I noticed that the women's restroom did not have any line while the men's faced long lines. The seats were sunny at 4pm and throughout the whole match, so I would not recommend for those who don't want a tan. There were three exits so getting out was not a problem. I noticed the lines for the VTA light rails were very long, so be prepared for that. Atmosphere was great. No troublemaker until the postgame when a spectator jumped the barricade and onto the field. Of course, he got tackled and handcuffed. Funny thing was, people were calling the cops "pigs." What they never think is supposed the guy start firing at people, it'll be those so-called "pigs" that will save their behinds. The match was all right. Even though the Earthquakes were up a player, they only managed a tie (and they even trailed first, too). So I was kind of disappointed at the showing of the team.

Being that the game was held over Memorial weekend AND in the larger Levi Stadium venue, we were very disappointed there was no tribute AT ALL for the service members who gave their lives. In fact, there was no half time show of ANY kind. No mention by the announcer, NOTHING. We took our Marine (who was only home for a few days) to the game for his first visit to Levi Stadium. Given the previous half time shows for other non-eventful games, we anticipated something. Very disappointed & we will not be attending further Earthquake games at Levi. Not worth the $40 to park!

First time watching a soccer event at Levi's Stadium. Only the first two level of the stadium were open for this soccer match. The overall soccer atmosphere in the stadium was pretty good.

Beautiful day, what was sad is all of the good seats in the four middle sections of the field were almost completely empty. It looked as though a big hole was right in the middle of the stadium and this took some of the air out of the stadium. Really weird that nothing was done to fill the most important sections with the best views. I know season ticket holders will receive certain ticket rights to events at the stadium but something needs to be done if the quakes are going to play there again. Also I bought the bundle for the Man U, Barca game and had no choice on where to sit for the quakes game. The seats I was sitting in didn't seem worth the $40 a ticket for this game.

For the amount of spectators allowed in the stadium, public transportation and the overall feeling of the match was pleasant.

$40 for off site parking to an MLS soccer game??? Had to park in some industrial lot a mile away and walk up. Parking/traffic pattern was a disaster. You would think they'd know what they're doing since it's an NFL stadium. View from 100 level wasn't ideal for a soccer game.

This was a GREAT experience for the whole family! We have 3 kids ages 2-9 and they ALL had a blast. Plenty of activities before the game for them, plenty of good food/drinks to enjoy for all, and then there's the game! The views are great no matter where you sit!! In my opinion, this is a MUST-DO for any Bay Area family!

Sitting in Section 121 (fairly high up) was a great experience. We could see all the action. We were seated fairly close to the uber fan section which enhanced our overall experience.

The stadium is beautiful. No bad seats. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Unfortunately the Quakes didn't put out their best performance, and lost.

I was concerned about seat selection, but I don't think there's a bad seat in the whole house. Nice design! The lines for food and beverages were quite fast. Tip: there are additional bars up at the top rim of the stadium, so unless you want food, just skip the concourse and go up! There's a group of super-fans who bring drums and bang on them like toddlers the entire game non-stop. It's soccer, so I get it, but maybe they could get a little drum training or give it a rest for 5 minutes? I think this is just something to get used to. Also, if that's not your thing maybe buy tickets a little further away from the non-stop flag waving screamers with their drum kits. The long bar is really classy, and it's nice that they have also food trucks for variety. Food prices were reasonable: like $7 for a cheeseburger (although a large beer was $11), and a lot of great snacks. Parking fees range from $40 for the close lot to $25 for the other end, which seems a bit excessive. There are no spots for motorcycles or scooters, and they have to pay full price and park like a car. Pedal bikes can chain up for no charge so a lot of people rode bikes there to avoid the parking fee. Also a lot of people were parking in nearby neighborhoods and walking to the game. There were free buses to VTA which was nice if that's your route.

Great family atmosphere even if you do not fully understand soccer. Daughter loved play area for kids before game. Great view from any seat. Excellent place to hang out for adults at outside beer garden.

The Earthquakes game on March 22nd at the new Avaya Stadium was AMAZING! Soccer in San Jose has come a LONG way in the past 40 years. The new stadium is beautiful...complete with a view of planes landing and taking off at San Jose Airport! Can't wait to go again.

The new stadium is beautiful, and the quakes rose to the occasion. Biggest open bar in North America doesn't hurt either.

The new stadium is great and the game was very good. The only REAL problem is parking. The stadium parking is expensive and over-priced. I was also harassed by a Security guard for possibly parking in the shopping center parking lot next to the stadium. My girlfriend & I did not park in the shopping center lot but did go shopping in a store. We were stopped and threatened by the stadium Security guard that our car would be towed away if we had parked in the shopping center lot. I told him we didn't park in that lot but he obviously didn't believe me and said that if our car was still in the lot in 1 hour that it would be towed away. I don't appreciate it being harassed while going to an Earthquakes game.

Great new stadium! I liked that the ticket prices were reasonable ($25), that you could buy and print online, and that you could stand--the proper way to watch a football game, as in my youth. Public transport to the stadium was well coordinated and I recommend it from downtown. People were friendly and the fans were somewhat creative with their songs--"We all laugh at the yellow soccer team" was the best. Quality of the game was OK, not great but worth the money. I wish the EQ players had had numbers on their backs to help identify them, however. Perhaps because it was pre-season? If the game slowed, the airport and the extraordinary weather were worth watching, too! The view was unobstructed and it felt close to the action. A friend said the hot dogs were good. We didn't use the bathrooms so I hope there are enough when the stadium is full; it was about half full this week. Only criticism was the PA system was nearly impossible to understand. Overall, this was a fun afternoon and I would go again at the price.

I loved the stadium, and the concessions were beyond expectations. This was complimented by the improving play within MLS. With great sight lines there is not a bad seat in the house. It would be nice is there were retractable panels on the canopy to protect from too much sun and too much rain. The only "but" comes with exiting the parking lots. I spent half an hour with the car in line and the engine off, and I left just before the hail. Work out that and it will be a great experience.

This was a cool event. I feel the price for the seats I got were adequate. I really did not like the parking though. I wore my suede addidas and they got muddy which made me upset. If your going to charge 30 bucks for parking, a paved parking lot would have been nice.

Had a great time at the game. The Supporters Area behind the goal was an amazing place to stand and watch the game. We had a great view of the three goals scored, especially the slow curving goal that Quincy Amarikwa put up (none of us that it was going to make or get past the goalie). The Supporters Area was also very loud with a group with a couple of bass drums. Pros - Section was awesome, Stadium had a good selection of food and very helpful staff Cons - $25 parking (more than what I had paid for the tickets and would have been good to know that when purchasing) the teams enter the field through the middle of one of the concourses, which made getting to our seats a bit longer of an experience. Overall awesome experience

My first trip to this gorgeous brand new Stadium. The outdoor bar was awesome and the stadium, although bug, feels intimate. Definitely recommend it, if you don't already love soccer, you surely will begin to appreciate it more after seeing the team play here.

Best time at a sporting event in a long time. Great atmosphere, great food, and a great game. The seats view aren't great but you do get to enjoy the supporter's section at full force and this is why I always sit in this section. I care about the team but I want to be with passionate fans instead of the boring people who sit the entire game.

Only challenge was the seats we were in were right next to the chanting group that was loud and did not sit the entire game so it was hard to hear and see. Stadium was great.

This was the first time that I had gone to Avaya Stadium, and I was impressed by the layout and the services. The facility has an open feel to it with lots of vendors. I passed by luxury field-level boxes which looked inviting. My daughter and I had seats in section 126 which provided a great view of the field. The game itself was not as intense as I had expected, especially from Seattle. However, I would definitely recommend atteding an Earthquake game - dramatic improvement in the facility!
