Having seen the movie several times, I finally saw the play. I loved the interaction with the audience; this made it quite a fun show to attend. The actors were superb, the music was excellent. The venue was great, since it really didn't matter where you were sitting, you still had a great view.

I saw the original in LA several times and ushered the road version in Phoenix back in the day. This was definitely as good or better then then. My wife and I both absolutly loved the cast and production this time around. Go see it!

Really, really had fun! The excitement and energy coming from the performers were contagious! They had amazing voices and we had so much fun dancing and singing with the Tribe during the finale! Please come back to Atlanta soon!!

All aspects of the touring company were excellent. Steel Burkhardt was a standout in the role of Berger. So much charisma and energy. All of the voices were strong. The only complaint is about the lack of sound clarity at Gammage.

I knew I was buying the least expensive seats, but I didn't know that meant I wasn't going to be able to see much of the performance. Most venues have video feed, so those with not the best seats can still see. The ASU Gammage should invest in this wonderful technology. If they have it, it wasn't in use in the opening night performance. The singing was amazing. I had only seen "Hair" the movie, and was surprised how different theatrical story was from the movie. Throughout the musical the players roved amongst the patrons with the good/great seats. We of the poor upper level seats couldn't see anything. . The singing was amazing, but even with what sounded like a high quality sound system, many if not most of the lyrics and speaking were not understandable from our seats.

Amazing musical. Felt the love from the cast. The finale is not one to miss and you definitely want to be on the ground level so you can go dance on stage. The way they interacted with the audience was so much fun and different from most shows. The message of the play was great too.

This was all around the best performance of Hair. The male cast members were incredibly dynamic. What can be a difficult show to perform, this cast did a great job of getting everyone in the spirit and up and dancing.

The show was amazing, the actors were so full of energy, and the content was thought provoking. There is definite mature content including nudity, language, and simulated sex acts. It didn't offend me but its not for everyone.

I was blown away by the quality - and quantity- of the local talent. For me, a child of the sixties, it was a romp through history. I was impressed that each performer made his song his own- not a carbon copy of the original sound track. Sadly, the language and graphic gestures did not seem as shocking now as they did back then. Great job, everyone!

This group of young actors were great. We watched them perform at UW in a much smaller venue, we were quite impressed. To see them adapt to a large venue was so much fun. And they seemed so at ease. The music and singing was amazing. We are looking forward to seeing where this leads them. Hair is not our favorite show, however to see these young actors be able to put them selves in the roles played, shows they are serious about what they are doing. Thanks uwuts

Having grown up in this time, been to Woodstock, fought in Viet Nam, it was all still relative and worth remembering. In looking at the audience it was a mixture of old tribal members and newer tribal members. Some of us dressed the part and totally fit in. The tribe was beautiful and some of the best moments were the audience participation. There was a moment when a tribal girl began dancing with a gentleman who easily could be in his 70s. I don't know who enjoyed it more, her or the gentleman. I very easily could go back again and again and again. Saw different things in this show that I didn't remember from when I saw it originally in New York in 1970. It just never gets old even thought the story is somewhat dated. Would highly recommend to everyone.

I hadn't seen Hair since it first played the Aquarius Theater. I must say the show took me back to an era of my youth I miss greatly. The spirit of Hair lives on in this production and the leads were beautiful and so talented. I left the Pantages feeling as I had some 40 years before--exillerated, happy and singing the tunes from the show. All Hail Hair!!!!!!!

Tight crew, incredible choreography.... athletic, energetic, engaging! Lighting and music were perfect. Sound was dialed in for the Pantages! My all-time favorite musical, but my first live performance ever, and got to dance on stage with the cast, who were all visibly grateful for our presence among them! One of the best experiences ever!! Yeah, I guess you could say I liked it.

I saw the ad on tv and had to buy tickets for my sig. oth. It's one of his favorite movies. He was totally into the play!! He is 50 and I am 40 (grew up with older sisters in the house and we listened to the soundtrack constantly) and one thing we were both doing was checking out the ages of everyone in the audience. Most were around his age but it really varied. There were adolescents there too- I'll leave that up to the parents but it does get raunchy? and I'm not talking about the 20 second nude scene- If you sit on the aisle or in the front, be prepared to be approached by a cast member or involved in the show in some way. If I had a complaint it would be that I wish I had left with a flower. That would have been a nice memento. They should throw more in the remaining shows. We had a really good time. GO SEE IT! DON'T MISS OUT

I really enjoyed the show, but I'm a huge snob when it comes to the show HAIR. It's been my favorite show for as long as I can remember and while this cast was good, I've seen better (the Met cast three or four years ago was amazing). The set was really nice to look at, but didn't scream Central PArk to me (which is where the show takes place, I believe). I hated the way "Aquarius" was done, but that's only because I like how the Met and original cast did it (where the band 'warms up' and plays groovy tunes for 20 minutes before the show, and before we know it we're singing 'Aquarius'). The cast was pretty good. It was truly an ensemble cast, which is HAIR in a nutshell, but the girl who played Abe Lincoln and a few other characters really stole the show, as that character tends to do. I loved getting to go up on stage and sing a reprise of 'Hair' and 'Let the Sun Shine' with the cast. Our seats were amazing and some of the hippies even made it back to us when they were in the audience. Our view was great, no complaints about the seats.

Being someone who lived through the 60s, I wasn't sure that this revival would be up to par with the original show, but I was pleasantly surprised! They went back to a lot of the original material, and the cast was really great considering that they are young people who are living in the aftermath rather than having lived it from the beginning. Every single one of the cast were great singers, and the choreography was amazingly organic. The second half was the best because they told the back story in the first half, so they were able to really rock during the second half. The only downside was that the audience in Tri-Cities, WA was low energy, perhaps because they did not know what to expect. A few people left during intermission, and one guy made nothing but negative comments as he was heading out the door. I'm thinking he did not see the same production I did, but he was younger and probably thinks cynicism is cool, which was the exact opposite of the message of Hair. I was seriously impressed and I'm so glad this show is still going strong because people need to "let the sun shine in", especially in this day and age.

This was not a good production. The cast didn't really seem to have the spirit of the times (I lived through that period) and the singing was poor except for the tall black lady, who was really good. Both "Easy to be Hard" and "Where do I go" were butchered.

The Tribal Rock musical "Hair" is a play that every adult over 15 should experience. This was the third time I've seen it. Once in Chicago at a neighborhood theatre and once in Kalamazoo in 2013. The spirit of the show is timeless. The songs are full of emotion and the "Flesh Failures/Let the Sunshine In" finale gave me an emotional lift like no other entertainment experience ever did. I look forward to a 2015 tour.

Lead vocalists could have been a little stronger. The choreography in the first half was well done; kind of fell of after that. Would have like a bigger Aquarius moment. Eliminate the additions - the planet song was hideous; embarrassing for the performer to sing! Blec. Some misplaced volalists; some should have been in lead and some lead in background. Overall, B-

I did not really care for the "new" version of this iconic show. It lacked the exuberance and joy that encompassed the one I saw in Chicago in the '70s and the one I saw at the Adler many years ago. Most of my friends agreed it was just plain lacking. The war/military scenes were well done, but the rest? Bleh. Also - the added scenes did nothing to enhance the experience except make it too long.

I remember the original production of HAIR in the sixties, along with the original recording of songs -- which we played a lot, at that time. This HAIR of 2014 was disappointing for me. I loved the opening number of "Aquarius"; then it went downhill from there -- with unfamiliar different songs, silly 'jokes', and a so-called story that was boring. Hair is a very good musical. Unfortunately this production was terrible. There were many sound cues that were missed so frequently someone was talking without a mic on. Multiple times the light cues were missed or not timed correctly with the action. The girl playing the trumpet on stage sounds like a 6th grader who has played trumpet for all of a month. There were many choices that the director made that really were not good - lighting was dark, scenery was nondescript, actors played characters as gay when they weren't. Overall, I would not recommend this production even to the enthusiast of the music. This just was not good musical theater.

There were technical difficulties that even though I try to be patient with - a professional company should not be encountering these issues. My seats were in the balcony - we could not hear any of the stringed instruments (guitars, bass, etc) - the drums and trumpet were fine (but when are they not). One cast members microphone went out in the middle of a song. It took the first half of the first act for the show to develop enough to get to the plot. I understand character development - but let it happen organically, don't force it. The playbill said the setting was 1962 - which makes no sense to protest Vietnam. During intermission, we saw that 20% of the already small audience left, so we decided to move down to the orchestra. Once we moved down, the volume balance between instruments and vocals was better. The entire time I felt like I was only receiving snipits of the performance - half songs not entire songs were sung.

When the opening number fails to stir me, I cringe. Things did not improve. I think the acoustics may have had something to do with it, but someone should have put the quietus on the bongos! The lyrics were an important (maybe the only) component to this play, and the bongos and the acoustics prevented me from understanding anything! Two of the singers had talent. And maybe there were others who had talent. But nothing was coming through to make me feel anything other than incredibly bored. My husband and I left at intermission, and so did a lot of other patrons.

I've seen high school productions of this musical that was better! Did they even research what the 60's was like? The first 15 minutes or so we couldn't hear half of what was being said/sung. But when we finally could hear it we were wishing we couldn't hear it again. We ended up leaving at intermission. you know it's a bad musical when you see people walking out within the first 20 minutes of the show, and the house wasn't packed to begin with. The 2 leads screamed more than sang. The only good singer was the girl that played Crissy and sang Frank Mills. I have been to many productions and I've never walked out on any of them even the ones that I didn't like very much. It takes a lot to make me walk out. Hair is a vibrant, exciting, "sunshine" play. This production, while it had great singers and dancers, had sets, costumes and lighting that were drab. They countered the joy that was in the first 90% of the musical. I didn't enjoy the musical in part because I couldn't understand the lyrics of a lot of the songs. Some singers were harder to understand than others. Seats were purchased before they went on sale by using CODE but sitting right next to the sound and light panel only gave us one way to exit the row. Not good. Sound awful. Could not understand the words to many of the songs. Acting/singing subpar. Also the "toned-down" version for this market was downright silly. Saw it in Boston a couple years ago and it was much better. We always get second tier productions in Little Rock but this was the biggest drop off I have ever seen. Crowd gave them a standing ovation but it was awkward and many people reluctantly and slowly stood up to give a golf clap.

There were some good moments in this production (it had a good ending, for example) but for the most part I found it pretty tedious. The set was one of those cheaply-done scaffolding arrangements on which the cast spent much of the production randomly climbing around in pretty meaningless and distracting fashion. There was energy, but not to a purpose, and so it seemed simply frenetic/chaotic. The singing was OK--at times quite good--but the sound wasn't good and you couldn't hear principal singers well in many of the songs. I appreciated that the cast played instruments, but perhaps the need for that took away from casting truly stellar voices (at least when it came to the leading men, who were by and large outshone by the principal women. Mainly, it seemed a rather cheaply done, lazily directed, effort. I had hoped for much better.

I am happy that Robinson Center is being restored and rebuilt this coming year. My wife and I could not tell if it was our seats at the back of the auditorium or the terrible sound staging that made this performance of Hair unintelligible. Hair is a tough show with the actors needing "rock" voices and presence. Neither of these was on display Tuesday might. Poor vocals tied with even worse sound mixing lead to a train wreck. The further fact that they cut edge from the show my not including several songs was disappointing. Lots of folks left at intermission and I don't blame them.

We were VERY disappointed with this show! It was not Little Rock's fault nor the venue. It was the show itself!! We have now seen Hair three times since 2011. This "revised" version stunk!!!! The acting was inferior, the staging was bad- a piano on stage partially blocked our view! There was VERY LITTLE audience interaction!!! We missed the Tribe coming out into the audience and the audience being encouraged to come on stage and sing during the reprise!!!!! In fact, I purposely bought the more expensive orchestra seats close to the stage anticipating being part of the action and I was so disappointed. Had I known beforehand that this version was going to be this way I would have bought cheaper balcony seats- or NOT spent the $200+ for tickets, hotel, gas and meals!!! I was sorely disappointed!!!!!! This show has been my all time favorite Broadway show, and now I am left with a bad taste in my mouth!! Rotten Apples to the director of this version!! AND what was with the Tribe also. Ring the musicians?? That was just weird!!! It was also very distracting!!!! This version was AWfUL!!!!!

I've seen Hair 3 times now all here in Little Rock. Was disappointed with the over energy. Was disappointed the cast didn't get naked as typical in this play. Was sad to see people leave at intermission. People left so quickly after the show without much dancing, clapping, appreciation. We took a friend who had never seen Hair and I was disappointed of the quality overall for her seeing this for the first time.

Disappointed with the music, quality of the performer's voices, and sound. Additionally, the play was more crude than I expected.

I have seen "Hair" over 60 times and never have seen the actors actually be the band. It took a while to get used to it, but by the 2nd act I was hooked. I talked to several people and it was their first time seeing this show -live. In a way I felt bad because it usually is not done this way and also the fact that the swearing was minimal and there was no nude scene. (Rumor had it the the venue asked for this). The character "Claude" was spectacular and had such emotion when he sang.

I loved the musical Hair. I missed some parts due to some mic cues being missed which was disappointing. All the actors were amazing.

While the players in this presentation seemed to be putting everything they had into this musical, the material is so dated it's a drag. All the performers were great and seemed to really enjoy this. I couldn't help but think that proved them all the better because none were old enough for this to make any sense of the fragmented contents. I lived the times and sand along with the songs on the radio but couldn't help wondering why. Good Morning Starshine comes to mind.

I have been to many Broadway on 6th performances, and this is my second Hair show at this theater. We were in the 8th row and the sound was a failure. The show was basically un-miked; no one could hear the lyrics! The interpretation was the worst I have seen. I saw Hair 3x total, once on Broadway. The jumping around in the audience, sitting on patrons' laps was stupid. I couldn't wait for this too-long show to end. FIX THE SOUND SYSTEM! I wish I could have my $72 back. We were all talking about what a waste it was when no one could hear the singing...and it WAS a musical.

Wanted to see Hair for 45 years - even though the actors weren't alive when it was first produced, they captured the spirit. Claude and Berger excelled in a show that far exceeded the quality of most touring companies. It was worth the wait and I'd watch this cast perform it again tonight if I could. Broadway quality voices, high energy, worth more than the price of admission.

The cast of Hair did a great job of character portrayal, really connecting with the audience throughout the performance in Morgantown, WV May 1st (2013). Solos and chorus numbers were impressive with several individuals really shining. I was especially pleased that the play tours with a live band. Perhaps it couldn't be done any other way, but I am used to recorded accompaniment for theater these days. The band did a great job as well. I'm glad that I had the chance to see this historically important play produced by such a talented ensemble. The issues and controversies depicted feel relevant today.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance; the energy, enthusiasm, and obvious talent of the performers provided the audience with an unforgettable experience. Staging and musical scores were effective and brought the story to life; A mixture of humor, commentary, and social awareness combined with boldness and honesty made for an enjoyable but thought provoking night. I would recommend this to everyone!

If "Hair on tour" is making a stop in your town make it a point to get some tickets. It is an amazing show with an equally amazing cast! Loved it!

This was one of the best plays I have gone to see. They interacted with the audience while still conveying an amazing story. They made it funny, sad, thrilling, and left me wanting more and more. I told my friend that if I had the option to watch this play every night, I would do it without hesitation!

this is the second time i saw this group, and their production of HAIR was close to 'my' cocanut grove production back in 'around '71. the supreme ladies was missing and the 'thank you margaret mead' was missing. the miami cast 'lived' the play, and their performance had a edge missing here, the singing was first rate, but perhaps too polished and staging was 'more staged' here. i doubt anybody will complain about their evening of HAIR.

I'm obviously biased, having seen Hair in New York when it originally ran, as well as two other productions about 100 years ago. The play was staged as if the script had washed up on an island, and was performed by natives who had never seen it live. They went through the motions, but it never made me want to jump up and sing along. When I originally saw it, I was so deeply touched, I didn't speak for hours. Maybe it's me, longing for something that can never be recaptured. I wouldn't go again.

I'm 36, grew up listening to my moms Hair Record, when I saw they were coming to my hometown, I couldn't buy tickets for me and my mom fast enough. Ended up getting several tickets! I would not recommend bringing children, not sure why people would. But don't. It was a great show!!! LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! I want to see it again!! Wish they were here another night or somewhere close. Don't miss it if it comes to your city!

Even though the musical is in itself excellent, the show did not feel "alive". The audience was not involved.
