Although I have seen America in concert a few times over the past couple years, I never tire of their nostalgic music. They really put their all into their performances and the crowd responds accordingly. As long as they keep playing, I'll keep going. Great show!!

Wow, was I surprised. My wife wanted to go see America and although I like their music, I was not too excited about it. But it was a great show. They just kept on playing great songs. I never realized how many great songs they did. I have paid much more for shows that weren't half as fun and entertaining as America.

The fact that America was coming to Tucson was haunting me. I love going to concerts almost a hobby if I could always afford a show. TOOL is coming and I already made that investment, but again I heard advertisments for America, so I bought the tickets hoping to hear Sister Golden Hair Surprise and be satisfied with that. America was great! Beckley is a funny man making his stage performance even greater than I had imagined. He and Bunnells vocals were just wonderful. My eyes I have to say just were uncontrollably tearing as the two sang Ventura Boulevard much to my surprise. It was amazing how many songs the band created that were so popular back in the day. Loved the show. I have to say it was a little too short. I would've like to have heard more. I don't know if it was because they didn't maybe want to bore the audience with their creative not top 10 side or not. But ulitmately America was beautiful! I am so glad I went!

After a long day of work, I was looking forward to the America concert at the desert diamond casino. This was my first visit to the casino, and didnt know what to exspect. the place was wonderfull and america was awesome. It was like the old day's except the people were a little older, including myself. The music was melow and the guy's played just the way I remebered them. They even played songs the wrote for other artist that sounded better than the original. The old love songs brought back those precious memories that I will cherish forever. I noticed some of the crowed were much younger than us older people. they seem to know all or most of the songs and were like getting into it. America was the best. Keep up the great sounds guy's. Your only getting better.

My husband and I were like kids again! All the old songs felt familar and exciting at the same time! What a collective talent!!! America genuinely seems to love what they do and each other. Not only did we enjoy their amazing musical abilities but were touched by the deep respect and admiration they have for each other. They obviously had as much fun or more than we did! Bravo!!!

The show was extremely high energy and the group really got the audience involved. The visuals presented during "Sandman" brought back many memories and was extremely well done. I took my 29 year old daughter who grew up listening to me playing America albums and she made the comment "those old guys rock!" I agree! I would recommended this concert to all ages!

Although the seating at this particular casino was bad to say the least, the concert itself was fabulous. Talk about a trip down memory lane. To follow along with what a fellow reviewer stated earlier, if you just closed your eyes and let the music take you away, it was truly a memorable experience. Personally I won't go back to this casino for an indoor concert. I took along a couple of 20 yr olds and they actually thoroughly enjoyed the music. Keep on keepin' on America! Thanks for the memories! : )

As a child of the 70s, whose favorite song for most of high school was 'Horse With No Name', this concert brought back a lot of memories. America played all their standards except for 'Muskrat Love', which was fine since that song wasn't one of their best (plus it was done, maybe overdone, by Captain and Tenille). The acoustics in the Desert Diamond concert hall were fine, the crowd was into it, and my wife, our friends who went with us, and I all had a great time. My only complaint was that, at 1 hour and 20 minutes, it was a short concert, plus I don't recall them playing 'To Each His Own', which is one of my personal favorites.

Great show and the audience was really into it. Audience was quite mixed - young, old and in-between which indicates that the America sound is trans-generational. The sound mixer seemed a little off for the first half of the show but was right on in the second half.

Enjoyable show! The 2nd time I've seen the band (saw them about a year & 1/2 ago at the same venue). The show brings back a lot of memories from music I listened to back in high school. These guys were hit machines back then. And the show was basically a greatest hits set list, including all of my favorites: Sandman, Ventura Highway, Tin Man, Sister Golden Hair, and of course: A Horse With No Name was the closing encore song. In fact, I checked the 'History - America's Greatest Hits' CD, and they played everything except Muskrat Love (to which, I am thankful). But I think the covers they did were every bit as enjoyable: like Joni Mitchell's 'Woodstock', and 'California Dreaming' by The Mamas and The Papas. Two of the three original members are still playing (Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell; Dan Peek was the other co-founder, he passed away in 2011). Had front row seats, though a bit too far to the right than I'd like. Though we were able to morph to standing right at the stage for the last couple songs; but I wasn't able to get my photo collage poster from last year's show signed. :-(

What a great concert! For a band that has been around for 46 years it was awesome. Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunell still sound great. They played many of their hits and a few other songs under the category of "Wish we had written that". Their 5 piece band was perfect for the venue. The first thing that impressed me is that they came out on stage and looked like just plain old regular guys. No fancy clothes or makeup. Probably wear the same clothes to their jam sessions. With the excellent seats we had, I felt like they were jamming in my living room. I liked that a lot. The band members are all extremely talented musicians. The drummer, base guitar and acoustic guitars rocked. The guy that stole the show was Bill Worrell. He is a master on his Les Paul electric guitar and got several opportunities to take the spotlight and run with it, which he did masterfully. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 was for the fact that the vocal mics were turned off for the first 5 seconds of the first song and that they didn't play Muskrat Love, which the audience was calling for. Small damper on an otherwise near perfect performance...

I would easily consider America right there with the Eagles when it comes to quality of the show... If fact I would much rather see America in a 1000 seat venue than the mighty Eagles in a 20,000 seat show....America deserves as much recognition in my opinion!! They are a lesser appreciated, yet major part of American rock music history!!

I have been working up here in Northern PA in the Oil & Gas industry. I miss my home in Texas and I had just met a wonderful lady when I saw that America would be playing. I wanted to share my great memories of the group with her. America took us back to a much simpler time in both of our lives. There were so many great songs by this group that in my opinion, transcend time. America's dedication to their fans and to their roots is unwavering. Their performance was flawless, and inspiring.

While the voices change a bit over time ( only 45 years! ) the feelings don't! Musically they still rock big time! And they make sure to play all the fan favorites. And in this venue, The Birchmere, everything is really up close and personal. The performers are more connected with the audience and you feel much more like you're in a club than in a concert hall. Audio quality is first rate. When they return, you should too. America is a legacy that still delivers!!!

Put your seat belts on for an amazing night of awesome great times & great music. After 45 years they still can rock the house down. Not a flaw in the show at all. Never a dull or lull moment through the whole of the show! Can't wait for their return. If your looking for not just nostalgia, you won't be let down, as they both give it their all with their amazing talents on both acoustical, & electric sets setting the tone for the night. They were the entire show and what a great show...I pray they come back for next year..2 nights would be nice though. Worth every penny! They played all the hits and some songs I never heard. They also did some covers which was cool. It was all great. These guys are getting up there in years and they supposedly tour constantly, so their voices certainly aren't what they used to be. They still sing their hearts out and I would recommend, especially if you've never seen them before. They also have amazing musicians backing them up. Gerry Beckley is super funny and cracks jokes in between songs. This is the kind of show that grows on you. Meaning, the next day you wake up and say "Wow! That really was a great show"

Good show. I've never seen the band before, and I was a big fan of them back in the early - mid '70's. The venue is only five miles from home, so it was hard to NOT buy tickets for the show. Nothing earth shattering, but I wasn't expecting to get blown away. I'm sure they're all fine musicians, but not at the level of some of the other bands I see. The band still has two of the three original members (Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell; Dan Peek died a few years ago). While the band still occasionally releases new material, they focused on what the crowd (myself included) wanted to hear: the host of hits they had from the '70's. Got to hear Ventura Highway, Don't Cross the River, Tin Man, Daisy Jane, Sister Golden Hair, Lonely People, an excellent version of Sandman ... and of course, the encore was Horse With No Name.

Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell were on their game as usual for this show but I was impressed with the set list that included songs that you don't usually hear and very impressed with the addition of the new lead guitarist/keyboard player/vocalist and the new drummer. Both of whom added a great deal of energy as well as talent to the band. The band was really pumping out the songs and the energy was palpable. That was one of the greatest concerts we have seen. America was terrific! Amazing group, all their greatest hits and other tunes were well done. No intermission, the band played continuous! The video reel that played in the background was perfect for songs especially "Sandman". New members of America did a great job, very talented and didn't miss a beat. This was an awesome concert! They took the stage right at 8 pm and played for about an hour and a half. The acoustics were great and the instruments did not overpower the singing. Loved that it was a more intimate setting versus the big arenas. Definitely a wonderful evening! My only complaint is that they really packed the chairs in and there was NO space between. America just keeps getting better. This is the second time I attended one of their concerts in the past 18 months and they are great. Unlike some artists who lose the tone and strength of their voices when they get older, these guys haven't lost a thing. Their concerts have a nice blend of old and new stuff and great videos of when they rocked back in the 70's. Looking forward to seeing them again!!

For playing 100 shows a year for 47 years (their quote), they are as fresh and as strong as ever. They sound great and played all of their big hits. The setlist was just over 20 songs. You will be surprised how many songs you recognize if you think A Horse with No Name is the only song you remember.

I began listening to America in 1971 and have been a fan ever since. The concert was an absolute joy. Gerry, Dewey, and the band were great. I highly recommend seeing them wherever, and whenever, they are playing.

If you enjoy hearing the many hits from America mixed with a few surprises, you will not be disappointed. The group sounds and performs as good as ever. Sound quality in the MGM ballroom was not as good as America shows I have attended in other venues. We did enjoy the more intimate setting.

I remember my parents listening to this genre of music and have rediscovered it as part of the "yacht rock" genre on the Sirius channel. It was a great concert. The band sounded fantastic and remarked that they will continue to tour as long as fans show up...so be sure to check them out!!!

The music was fantastic. I really liked hearing all the old songs. One of the singers isnt as good anymore, but overall I thought it was very good. We didnt end up sitting in the seats we purchased because one of the seats MEZZ Row AA seat 25 had a completely obstructed view. You cant see the stage at all from this seat. We also had MEZZ Row AA seat 23. You can see ok from this seat. They are located in the firt row of the MEZZ on the far left aisle. We complained and were given Orchestra Right Row R seats 2 & 4. These are on the inner isle closest to the center section and even tho row R is the 2nd to last row, we had a really good view. So I can recommend these seats not the ones we bought.

We opted to upgrade this time to box seats so we had a great view of the whole band. The show was tremendous. They played all the music we wanted to hear just wish it could've been longer so we could hear more. Fantastic job guys. The waitstaff at BB Kings works hard. We had a great time

It was awesome... they still sound better than ever... do the meet & greet thing after EVERY show.... 100 shows a year for last 34 yrs... they will sign anything & everything... shake your hand... talk to you... They tell you during the show... that they will stay until EVERY last one gets to say hello, shake hands, get something signed..i'm wearing my shirt they signed when i saw them about 2yrs ago ... they asked me about the shirt... NO PRIMA DONAS in that band.... same drummer for 37yrs... same guitarist for 32yrs. ... they laugh & joke up on stage... talk to the crowd & play for 2hrs..

I have been a fan of America for 35 years and this is the first time I saw them live in concert. What an amazing performance last night at Genesee Theater Waukegan. The place was half full, maybe because it's a Thursday night. They really connected with the audience by telling stories about how they started the band and progressing throughout the years. Hearing them singing live on my favorite songs like 'Daisy Jane', 'Ventura Highway', I Need You' and 'Sister Golden Hair' ' really made my night. And the final encore song 'A Horse With no Name' made everyone excited and we rose to our feet and joined the song that made the sound of America a classic. After the concert, they came out the front to sign autographs. Now, how many bands would do that after a concert.? This is the most unforgettable concert in my life.

Well it was great till the rain set in--they took a break and never came back. The rain cleared up, after they made everyone leave. They were supposed to give autographs, and I had my shirt ready--very disapointed. We did not get to hear the most popular songs, that they save for last! Well maybe next year--I do feel like we should get some sort of discount for the next tickets we buy!!
