first saw S.B. in 80's and he may be world's greatest harp player---and loudest--his bands back him perfectly--and that was the case at lucille's-- problem was acoustics in lucille's---i was w/ a friend who has learned to deal w/volume but this show had her using napkins in her ears---even i was "feeling" it---lucille's is big/high ceilinged and sound "flies" at you -- since S.B. plays in high register notes and uses "gadgets" to enhance playing it was a bit overwhelming soundwise compared to previous shows (10-15 )--- BUT--i still plan to see him whenever our paths cross as he is a virtuoso (sp?) and my problem was not w/ him but w/the venue's acoustics and whoever controlled soundboard--

Finally got to see John perform. What a talent! Have been singing "Christmas In The Trenches" in pub gigs for many years. Nice to hear the master do it. Already signed up for Springtime In The Mountains.

I don't know any French and I loved this concert. Patricia has an amazing voice. She sang all songs in French (what a beautiful language) but spoke to the crowd in English. You got more that just a singer. It was an event. She told a story with every song thru movies on the wall behind her, costume changes and a dancing partner. I went with 2 friends who are French and the loved it, too. It was worth every dollar.

Fobia were full of energy and seemed happy to come back to the HOB. The place was full and people were singing along to old + new songs. They gave us fans a treat to a new song coming out next year with a new album...woohoo!!! "Hipnotizame," "Vivo," and their cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" were beautiful acoustic versions with Jay on guitar. Leonardo gave the audience many opportunities to sing on our own. Overall a totally energetic concert! They need to come more often, I'll be there each time :)

Miss Monge seldom do any concerts in Miami, so when I heard she was coming, I most definitely have to go and I am very happy I did. She has a long singing career & she's truly a singer with a great range, blessed with a beautiful voice. She's a beautiful woman as well. She conducted & performed her concert with class, style & substance. I look forward seeing her again soon. Supposedly, she's going on tour to support her brand new CD very soon. Can't wait! Many thanks to the promoters & producers of this concert! Keep them coming!

Two great Latin orchestras, Orquestra Aragon from Havana, Cuba and a local band. Each played two full sets of very danceable Latin music. Orquestra Aragon was the group that introduced the Cha Cha to the world, and have not lost their touch. Between sets there were dance exhibitions by US and World dance champions in many different genres. The dancers happened to be in town due to the Millennium Dancesport competion that was held until that morning in Tampa. The Millennium also brought out many other dancers to Afternoon in Havana, so the level of general dancing was very high as well. Great Cuban food, plenty of room on the dance floor and wonderful music. Who could ask for more? If you missed it, look for it next year. Highly recommended!
