George Strait

After more than 30 years of a lifestyle that often required lots of time on the road, country legend George Strait has saddled up for what he says will be his final tour, a two-year outing dubbed The Cowboy Rides Away Tour.More than 20 farewell concerts take place between January and May of 2014, and the shows -- many of which will feature a big-name special guest such as Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Martina McBride, or Sheryl Crow -- are proving to be hot tickets as fans celebrate the storied career of the country mainstay. He announced his retirement from the road during a September 2012 press conference in Nashville, and played more than 20 farewell shows during early 2013. Strait doesn't plan to ride into the sunset -- he's just done with long tours.

The best way to experience this concert was in the Pavillion at Riverbend. End of the aisle seats would have been better, but this concert was great! Blake Shelton was pretty amazing too! George was great as usual and played all the favorites, truly an amazing show and one I am glad that I got to see.

He put on a really great concert. My son, who is 17, and I went . He really wants to see him again. He sounds even better in concert than on a cd and that is usually not the case. Again, he was an absolutely wonderful performer, classy. I really appreciate that, there's not a lot of people like him anymore. I would definitely go see him again if I had the chance. Sure wish he would come to Lexington, Ky. I would take both my sons and perhaps my mom. The reason I rated the experience a 4 was nothing to do with the performers but I bought lawn tickets instead of pavillion seats for the first time and there were way too many people drunk, throwing up, falling on us, stepping on my feet, and one man threw a beer bottle at someone and hit me in the stomach. It was bad. Probably one of the worst I have been to in regards to people being drunk and I have seen Hank Jr. three times.

The man was awesome. The fans were great, but there were too many really drunk people for me to being my son back to another show... One girl couldn't even be taken out in a wheelchair because she was too smashed to stay in the chair. I love the place, but the toleration for drunks is too much.

I've seen George Strait before, but he never fails to put on an awesome show! We had pretty good seats - I was pleasantly surprised to actually see where the seats were. It's always so hard when you've never been to that arena before and don't know where the seats are. George Strait is a true gentleman and puts on a first class show. I will always try to see his show whenever he's close enough to my home town.

Been waiting my whole life to get to go to one of Georges concerts and I finally got to go. I will never forget it he is my favorite artist and the true king of country. It could not have been better! Both performers were awesome and the night was beautiful. Our group of ten had a blast and loved the setting out there in the grass. So relaxed, not overly crowded, and pleasant people all around us. The volume of the music was perfect, too-

George has been my favorite artist since his first song was released. There are many of us vans who have been there from day one, but he's the only artist I have followed this closely, ever! His concerts are unforgettable, always an amazing wonderful time. He makes you feel as though he is singing just to you.... he has never disappointed anyone at any concert!

George Strait never disappoints and didn't again at this concert. Blake Shelton and Julieanne Hough were also wonderful! I have bought several of both of their records since seeing the concert. George always seems to support upcoming talent and always picks good ones that have a promising future. I feel anyone would enjoy seeing this concert.

Our seats were covered with dust and bird feathers - not an auspicious beginning. Even after being told of the mess, noone from Riverbend came over to clean it up. The opening acts (Hough and Shelton) were very good and enjoyable. I love George Strait's songs, but I couldn't hear many of the words due to the loudness of the music. Everyone in the crowd stood up when George walked on and remained standing throughout the entire concert. My wife and I are older, and both have back problems. For as long as we could put up with it, we stood a while - sat a while - stood a while, etc. Finally, we gave up and left feeling disappointed that a perfectly good evening had been ruined. Hope all of your concerts are not this way, or you will be losing more of us.

The concert was great, good music, sound was right on. Sold out Saddledome that sang and danced to George and his band. Atmosphere was awesome, although a little on warm temperature side, all in all it was great. Wished he would have moved around the stage a little more and maybe had some videos of some songs. Sang some of the older hits along with his new ones on most recent CD to be released. Would see him again should he come to town.

Perhaps it was just the level we were at . . BUT . . . George Strait was so loud the entire concert was distorted. Virtually everyone around us felt the same because some of them had their fingers in their ears the entire concert. A real poor use of $350 and a real disappointment 'cause we're both 'big" George Strait fans. It's not his fault personally but one would think someone of his success would have above average sound people!!

George Strait is pure country, and is the best. The venue (Riverbend, Cincinnati) is very large and his voice is not powerful (or the microphones were weak)-- Hard to hear. There was only one small screen, which made it difficult to see him since gangs of drunk young people walk around constantly talking. Blake Shelton was great because he has a very powerful voice.

How does one describe the Concert of the Century? George Strait was joined by Vince Gill, Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Sheryl Crow, Faith Hill, Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride for over 3 hours of signing - 40 of George's most popular songs. In addition, he sang with his son, Bubba. His voice was amazing!! He was humble, thankful and as always, a true gentleman and a cowboy. It was AWESOME!! One of those nights you are just so grateful you had the chance to witness.

Amazing! Sold out record breaking crowd. Almost 105,000 fans in attendance to watch George Strait perform his final show touring. Special guests included an opening set by Asleep at the Wheel. Song after song after incredible song. That's why we call him King George. He made 107,000 people feel like it was a concert just for us. I loved that the guest stars sang his songs, and paid tribute to him; you could tell that all of them were honored to be there, and that it was a special moment for him too. My husband and I were in tears through many of the older 'favorites'. They're classics that stood the test of time...and at 62, he still has his voice!! Wow, does he ever. Once in a lifetime experience, worth every penny for the plane tickets, hotel, rental car & concert tickets, t-shirts etc.

Omg how can I even review such an amazing event? There are no other words except for AWESOME, AMAZING, MEMORABLE... Being lucky enough to attend this concert was a once in a lifetime chance. Literally. George Strait is such an amazing artist and seeing him perform for his last concert was sad but it was something I'll remember forever. Seeing all f the other artist along with him was neat as well. If i could do it again, I would. And I would pay 10Xs what I paid to experience it again.

This was the third time I've seen George Strait and it's incredibly sad that it was the last. There is no one in today's country music, including Tim McGraw who opened for him, who will ever compare. From the old ones... "Blame it on Mexico", "Unwound", and "Marina Del Rey" to the newer "Give it All We've Got Tonight", "Troubadour", and "Here For a Good Time", he was flawless. Charm backed by amazing integrity practically oozes out of his pores. With the exception of a very few, such as the aforementioned Tim McGraw,and Brad Paisley, to name a couple, their isn't likely to be a true country music genre in the future as it's now mostly pop. George has said he'll continue to record and I sincerely hope he does.

My girlfriend and I have many years of Country music, old and new, under our belts. And although we would have liked to see George sing more familiar songs of his he still still put on a great and very memorable show on his final tour. He is nothing less than a world class act.

George Strait is the king of country music! His traditional country sound is something you can count on. This concert had a great combination of his older and newer hits. George mostly stands at the mic and signs, but that is all that is necessary for him to do.

The first time I saw George in concert was in 1985 right here in the Tacoma Dome. He was the opening act for the Judds and Alabama! He was sick with the flu and the only song he was able to sing was the Fireman, which is the song I fell in love with George Strait. I have been to every concert he has had in the Pacific NW. Sadly last Saturday night was my last time to see this wonderful man in concert. he played for 2.5 hours, he was so cool and calm and the smile oh my the smile that will always melt my heart. I cried as I knew this was the last time I would be able to hear this great artist perform. On a side note, I am ashamed of the new country fans that have no concerns about drinking and throwing up all over the bathrooms as well as spilling beers and using filthy language. I thought at first I was at some Rock concert not a County concert. It is very disappointing to witness this sort of behavior from adults.

Everything about this event was perfect. I bought a package that included dinner before the show and special VIP entrance. The BOK Center staff was awesome and put on a great event. As far as the show... Perfect. I was on the fifth row next to the path George walked up to the stage. Everyone around us had a great time, made new friends and just had a fun night. My only complaint is the show wasn't long enough for an artist with as many #1s as George has. By comparison, Paul McCartney played 3 hours and got just about every one of his hits in. Glad to see George again, its been awhile.

George was incredible, as always. My only suggestion would be that they have drinks available somewhere on the floor level. It was quite a hike to go up the stairs everytime we needed something. Also, while the VIP party was pretty awesome, the crowd free merchandise area didn't have all of the items. So after we purchased items at the VIP area, we found that there were other items we would have bought instead.

George Strait was amazing as expected. Voice was on point. Loved the stage in the center of arena, makes all seats good seats. Tickets were a bit pricey, but it was the King of Country. No, he didn't dance all over the stage and shake his hips, but with his voice and talent, he does not need too! Overall, amazing show!

Seeing George Strait live has been on my bucket list for years. I was ecstatic over his performance. He is the gentleman and King of Country. My seats were 5 rows from the stage, and I loved how he rotated around the stage so everyone had a chance to see him. I really liked his encore, he played and sang some blues which was awesome. He also played some fun stuff. His encore was the best I've ever seen, he played several songs.

Got online with Ticketmaster, bought our tickets! For my daughters Birthday, she absolutely loved the surprise and the show was wonderful George still got it going on.....we all had fabulous time out. Thanks for the experience

I wasn t familiar with Midland, but they were fun and sounded pretty good. Then Kasey Musgraves came on and really showcased herself - great songs (many written herself), and she looked absolutely stunning. Little Big Town came on and had the whole stadium singing along with their hits. Chris Stapleton absolutely rocked the house \u2014 everyone around us was amazed at how strong his performances were. So much soul in it! Then King George \u2014 he s the king for a reason. He played hit after hit after hit, the crowd getting more into each one. Give us this kind of lineup again in a one-night show and I ll be there in a heartbeat!

He is a true Troubadour. Pure Country Music. And eye candy as well. He is true entertainer. Hope he and his music stays around for a long time. He was on my bucket list. Always wanted to see him. Now I have and was not disappointed. He moved me to tears with three of his songs, they touched me that hard. All of his music was so good. The experience will last me for the rest of my life. Very delighted to attend the George Strait and Friends concert to benefit those who lives were severely impacted by Hurricane Harvey along the Texas coast. These amazing A-List entertainers "did what they do" to help their neighbors and friends to rebuild their lives. Each entertainer was EXCELLENT! My personal favorite, of course, was King George Strait. The Majestic Theater is an intimate, beautiful venue, but much smaller than the venues where these entertainers regularly sell-out. so each one who attended the concert was a "VIP." The staff at the Majestic were friendly, helpful and accommodating, especially to our group who had never attended an event there. I certainly will be back. Thank you to the Majestic Theater for hosting this event.

I married a person with a great love and respect for George Strait. The first concert in the 90's we were going to was canceled. Attending this concert showed me why my wife loves this singer. I am sorry we only were able to see him in one concert.

VIP Check in was easy. Parking was great. Food in VIP tent better than expected. Entertainment, aka Randy Rogers Band, in VIP tent was awesome. George Strait was AMAZING!!!! Once in a lifetime experience. Loved every minute :)

My first time seeing George in concert and I've got to say, it was worth every penny! George plus guests Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Eric Church, Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Sheryl Crow, Alan Jackson and Martina McBride. This kind of draw by country's best artists can only be attributed by how much George is loved and respected by not only his fans, but his peers. George's son Bubba even made an appearance and sang a song with his dad. Knowing that this was his last concert (ever?) I didn't want the night to end! All in all, this was the best concert I've ever been to. Thanks for the memories George! And long live the King of Country music!

I was so happy to be part of George's last concert tour...he and the Ace in the Hole Band put on a memorable performance - I loved the fact that it looked like George was enjoying every minute of it. The stars that sang with him were excellent as well....except for Vince Gill - he looked and sounded terrible. ATT was so packed it was impossible to get a souvenir shirt, much less a drink or snack. I was not impressed with the fact that it took us 2 hours to go 5 miles home that night. I know it was a record-setting number for attendance, but it put a damper on the fun of the night. All in all - a great night...but only because it's George.

I have seen George Strait in concert six times and this was by far the best show I have ever seen!! George was amazing! He sounded so good and played for nearly 3 hours! Eric Church was amazing as well! His show was accoustic and he really sounded great! Both of these men are true class acts!!

Jason Aldean rocked the house & had everyone excited & ready for George to come on stage. George played another amazing show. He sang some new songs- loved the one he wrote to the fans "I'll Remember You" I think is the name. His Ace in the Hole band is the best! Loved seeing George & the band again!!

This was an amazing show. Jason Aldean us always a great show. This was my first George Strait concert and it was prolly one if the best shows I've ever been too. He sang a lot of his early material and quite a few new ones. Had a blast at his show and for an entertainer who doesn't have a big stage show, I hardly ever sat down. He's entertaining, fun and keeps the crowd going. It was definitely an experience! I'm so glad I was able to see him before he stops touring! As a side note... Get to the venue real early because traffic and parking was unbelievable but so worth it!!!!!

George was just George. For a final show, this show had no pizzazz. He just came out and did his thing -- as if it were just any other day. He was good, but not great. The sound was not great and the video screens were tiny for this size of show. Furthermore, his setlist was weak. There are so many better songs he could have played, rather than the ones he chose.

I have attended over 25 George Strait concerts, and his performance at the AlamoDome was not only an extended set, but the most intimate and inclusive that I have ever witnessed. The revolving stage was brilliant, and Strait's ability to make every ticket holder feel special provided exceptional show quality.
