Zap Mama is a physical experience for me, so my descriptions with words aren't everything. I was introduced to her by my boyfriend about 14 years ago and the music resonated. It was like traveling to somewhere beautiful for the first time or enjoying a new food flavor. There was a song for every mood I ever experienced and songs that provoked new feelings or new levels to my emotions. It motivated and afflated and satisfied through the screens and speakers, so I had to experience it live. She had the whole crowd synchronously breathing. When something leaves you wanting more, it's good and bad at the same damn time. To put it lightly...I'm a fan. I gave four stars only because it felt too short, but that might've just been me. If I were there earlier to mingle to a DJ set or if I were able to get to meet Marie Daulne; I might've felt like I got a complete experience and not left wanting more.

Outstanding show. Great songs. Electric performances with high energy and dance. Unbeatable combination of two exceptional groups - Zap Mama and Anribalas.

I have followed Antibalas for 10 years but was not familiar with Zap Mama. At the end of the performance I felt as if I had been to a broadway play. Their music styles were a perfect match and the chemistry on stage was awesome .

A blend of creative vocalization, island music, plus a bit of big band... that's how I would describe it. Amazingly creative ensemble, fabulous vocalists, lots of dancing good times!

She is just inspiration, energy and beauty. She has a voice that can sing anything. I will like to see her singing with Lila Down. Zap Mama is a singer that keep you on her all the time.

Zap Mama's performance was phenomenal. Anyone who wants to experience a high-energy performance of dynamic, inspiring and innovative music would not be disappointed. The only drawback to this show was the printed start-time of 8:00pm and the actual time of 9:30pm, which I understand as an error made by the venue. The lengthy wait took away from me fully enjoying this show.
