The Academy Is

This was my 1st "The Academy Is" concert, I went a long long long time ago though. Bill's vocals were AMAZING (even though he was fighting a bad cold that night I think). I really enjoyed the show! I sadly didn't get to see "This Providence" (one of the opening acts) cause my friend and I were late, but I did get to see Evan Taubenfeld (the other opener) and he was so AWESOME! I got to meet him after the show, sweetest guy I've ever met! (though I didn't get to see Bill afterwards cause we left early for some odd reason)...All in all the show was a landmark event for me! :)

What more can you ask from TAI? They are amazing musicians and composers. William Beckett is one of the best frontmen out there with an amazing voice. The band was really fun and amazing, not to mention William interacted with the fans a LOT. Their set was worth being front and center and almost being ripped apart from the amount of people trying to cram into the front.

You Me At Six was a great start to the show! Their songs weren't well known, but they grew on me. The Secret Handshake brought the party to the floor. Everyone was jumping up and down like crazy! Every Avenue is always a favorite in Michigan, since this is their home state. They were really fun to see. THE ACADEMY IS... was amazing! It was great to see them play, and I loved every moment of it. The crowd was settled down and we all could just enjoy William's voice. Mayday Parade was another great band to see. I was so excited to hear 'Miserable At Best.'

This concert with You Me At Six, Mayday Parade, The Academy Is . . . , and The Secret Handshake was the best one I've ever been to! The combination of the bands was such a GOOD one! The genre of the bands also complimented each other so well. Theres just nothing bad i can say about this concert. The House of Blues is also a great location for the bands to play.

Once again The House of Blues had amazing performers. My third and most amazing time seeing The Academy Is... I have have never heard any of the opening bands before but now I love them all. They even did a signing before the show and Mayday Parade was hanging outside after the show.

This was my first time seeing Mayday Parade and they were VERY good. They were great performers and had great music. I've seen the academy is before many times and their shows are NEVER a let down. Their music is amazing to hear live. They really have a connection with the crowd and you can tell they love what they do. Best of luck to both bands because they deserve every bit of success!!

I took my daughter and her friend to this show not expecting alot as I only knew a few songs that I have heard endlessly played in my home. I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the music and recognized far more songs than I thought I would. I really liked the House of Blues, which I have never been to before last night. The security staff was visible, effective and not too intrusive. With all the teenagers at the show, they really handled them well. Kudos to the security staff!

I absolutely loved all the opening bands they were all so great. and then mayday parade and the academy is know how to put on a show. it was just really really good!

I went into this show a bit skeptical of the opening bands (Set Your Goals, You Me at Six and The Secret Handshake) but absolutely stoked to see The Academy Is... and Mayday Parade. Set Your Goals didn't play, but I was so impressed with You Me at Six and The Secret Handshake that I bought their cds at the show. Mayday Parade astounded me. So many bands are horrid live but they definitely lived up to the sounds on their cds. The Academy Is... never fail to disappoint, even on the 6th show (yes, I am a bit obsessed). All in all, this show was amazing and completely worth the measly $15 ticket price.

I bought tickets to this tour specifically to see Set Your Goals. Two days before the show the band cancelled because a member was ill. I wish the band well but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed. I tried selling my tickets but no one would buy them so I went anyways. I'm not really into the other bands but I gave them a shot. Mayday Parade was the only band that I thought was decent. When I go to shows I usually like to mosh and get crazy but no one was really doing that. It was packed with young high school kids that we're barely moving.

This was an amazing show and I would recommend all of these bands to anyone. They are all great performers with great talent. There was a pretty good crowd, basically a full house!

I honestly only went to see TSH but the whole show was amazing. The venue was packed, the bands were full of energy and they all definitely put on a great show! I definitely got my moneys worth and more!

The concert was great. All the bands put on a really good show, especially mayday parade and the academy is... were awesome. my only complaint was the crowd. people weren't getting into the music so much, so it kinda killed it a bit for me. but that's all though.

Without a doubt the best concert I've been to all year!

Upon going to the show I expected to have to deal with some crazy scene kids but the fans in the crowd were absolutely atrocious. All the pushing and shoving and negativity definitely brought me down from my usual concert high. Also The Academy Is... should have headlined the tour, they have more work to account for and play and have been in the game longer. Overall, it was mostly a disappointment.

All of the bands put on good sets. The crowd got a little pushy through out most of it which surprised me a little because I wouldn't expect that for those bands, but Mayday Parade was definately better. For one, some people who only came for The Academy Is... left and there was more space and also they are just so awesome that it totally made my night.

Best concert ever you gotta see it it has all the good bands and the crows is amazing everyone jumps and the bands encouage you to have fun but the short message this is a must see concert

I AM SO EXCITED THAT I GOT TO SEE THE ACADEMY IS... FOR THEIR 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TOUR! I'VE LOVED THIS BAND SINCE THEY FIRST STARTED AND THEIR FIRST ALBUM HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART. IT WAS A GREAT SHOW BECKETT REALLY KNOWS HOW TO GET THE CROWD AMPED UP. WE ALL HAD A FANTASTIC TIME! HOPE THEY DO ANOTHER ANNIVERSARY TOUR IN THE FUTURE!!

This was the best show I have ever been to. 4th time seeing TAI... and I have seen William Beckett solo 4 times. This beat it all. The emotion that filled the room, the bass from the speakers, his voice filling you up. I will never forget this night

The opening band was great! The Academy Is sounds great live and I hope this is not the last time in Atlanta...this night was one to remember!

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the entire set was too short. They played Almost Here in its entirety superbly. Afterwards they played a half dozens songs and called it a night (About A Girl, Big Mess, LAX, etc). However the entire show felt a little short. With that said, it was worth every penny and HIGHLY recommend this show. Best concert I've been to in a while. If tix are available, you need to go.

I was very excited to see The Academy Is... reunion show and they did not disappoint! They still got it after all these years. William's vocal acrobatics were unbelievable and all the other band members were on point. Even when William started singing the wrong part of "Big Mess" the crowd still went crazy. I know I did and I loved them all the more for it. Can't have an exciting show without a little bit of the unexpected. TAI still knows how to play a crowd. And don't get me started on when Beckett went down to the audience! I was thisclose. TAI loves their fans and they will always be my favorite band to see live.

Completely blindsided that the venue was a teen center. The 2nd opening band, Mechanical Kids, was leagues better than The Academy Is. Left after three TAI songs.

Mayday Parade was excellent along with the rest of the bands other than Set Your Goals who sucked royally.

I didn't know of the first 3 acts well, but You Me At Six, the Secret Handshake, and Set Your Goals were really good and I intend to listen to them more often now and keep up with them. The Academy Is was AMAZING and I'd love to see them again. Mayday Parade was also AMAZING. All the artist had a lot of energy especially The Academy Is and Mayday Parade and I'm really happy I bought tickets to this show!

the show was absolutely amazing. very sore after but well satisfying. & I met two of mayday parade's members after the show, alex & derek; So I went home with a big smile on my face.

the concert started late, and the academy is.. only got to play about 30 minutes. i thought this kinda was unfair to the band and their fans since they were the headlining band. also, the sound wasn't as loud and clear when the academy is.. was playing. the others bands seemed clearer and louder. the sound was very disconnected from the band.

mayday parade was AMAZINGGG, but the crowd was terrible, too many people thought they could do whatever they wanted to get to the damn front of the crowd rrrawwrr :(

All the bands were awesome! And all the band members were soooo nice!

It was an extremely well done performance by all the bands. They all sounded really good and it was great to see how awesome all the bands sounded. High energy shows witheverything sounding beautiful. Mayday and the Academy is.. were my favorites, they both just put on great shows and played theyre best songs, which is nice to see.

I brought my three teenage girls and two of their friends and they all enjoyed the show. Mayday Parade and The Academy Is... were both very good and we also liked You Me At Six. The Secret Handshake and Set Your Goals were OK, but we really didn't enjoy them as much as You Me At Six. As always, you get a lot of music for your money at the Starland Ballroom.

The show and venue were absolutely fantastic! All five bands gave an outstanding performance but the Academy Is, in particular, was better than I could ever have imagined. Plus, the Starland Ballroom provided a safe, well-ventilated, and spacious venue for the show. The best $15.00 ticket I have ever paid for! I came up all the way from the Washington, D.C. for the show, and I am glad I did!

I decided to go because i LOVE the academy is..., and have loved them since the summer of 2006. But i was pleasantly surprised by Mayday! They were AMAZING! and of course, William Beckett is amazing, as expected!

The AP Fall Ball was amazing, it was so worth it. All of the bands were fantastic!

Great show...Starparking was definitely worth the extra money...got to the venue at exactly 6 p.m. and the line to get in was wrapped all the way around the parking lot, but with the Starparking, parking was up front and (!) you could show the pass at the door and not have to wait outside in the line to get into the venue. You Me At Six was good...The Secret Handshake was good... Set Your Goals? hmmm, not so much, but not my kinda genre... The Academy Is... great..... and last but never least, Mayday Parade was awesome....it's nice to hear a band live and know that they aren't all engineered in the studio....great tunes, great energy....only regret? Because it was the AP Fall Ball Tour, the set list was not as long as I'd have liked, but well worth the price of the ticket. Good times...would love to catch them again with less acts on the roster, so we could have a longer set...

I wasn't sure who was going to headline this show, being that both bands are pretty popular. Mayday wound up headlining, which I have to say was a mistake by whoever put that tour together. The Academy Is came out and tore down the house, with clean vocals, and crisp play from the entire band. After they finished I had high hopes for Mayday parade, who I had never heard live before. I'm a huge fan of their studio offerings, but when they took the stage and sounded nothing like their albums, I was more than disappointed. I wound up leaving early... Academy = 5 stars. Mayday = 2 stars

The Concert was great there were no problems seeing the bands on the stage and we could get really close!

This concert was just about the best ever! The Academy Is... had to cut the concert short at the DuPage County fair so this made it amazing that i got to see them play an actual full concert!

It was crazy since Set Your Goals are from San Francisco. TAI... sounded ok, they were kind of off, but mayday killed it!!

This was a non expensive concert which is nice in these hard times. Also I love both of the main bands Mayday Parade and The Academy Is... I think that we should have a lot more concerts near here.

I loved You Me At Six. I've waited at least four years to be able to see them. They are my favorite band and they were amazing. I loved it. The concert overall was very fun. I enjoyed all the bands, But ymas definitely was the best for me.

We went to the Fall Ball specifically to see TAI. They were awesome and we even got to meet and greet them. The Secret Handshake and Meet Me At Six were great as well. We weren't too impressed with the crowd. Obviously TAI is a band that attracts teen girls. The other bands like Set Your Goals attracted a different crowd.....wild older guys. They boys were out of control - bodysurfing, running circles in the crowd, bumping into people. The security tried to control them but didn't stop them. But in regards to music, I really enjoyed TAI and The Secret Handshake the most.

I loved this tour. All the bands that played were great. I was kind of disappointed that one of the bands didn't play because they weren't there though :-/

I've seen The Academy Is... before and was surprised how well William's voice sounds live. (Not all singers do...). He didn't disappoint this time. I wish the set was longer, but understand that the majority of the audience was teenagers and their parents out on a school night so... And I'm now a new fan of Mayday Parade who also played a good set.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. Best concert ever, hands down. Every Avenue came in place of You Me at Six and killed it! Mayday Parade doesn't need Jason Lancaster to be amazing! They sang Miserable at Best and still rocked it! Make sure to hang around after the show, because all the bands come and hang out.
