Mac McAnally

Mac mcanally is the bearded red haired giant who stands next to jimmy buffer in the coral reefer band. But his song writing talents go way beyond his summer/daytime job. We got to hear songs on solo acoustic guitar, electric guitar and piano. Along with the music Mac has written the crowd got to sing along with 3 favorite parrothead songs. Near the end of the show was an electric guitar version of heard it through the grapevine with Mac playing guitar and piano at the same time.

What an amazing show, super cool venue (very organized) and overall wonderful night. Food and drink prices were very high but it was a special night out. Mac McAnally far exceded my hopes. Humble, funny and talented! Classy guy.

Wasn t sure what to expect of Buffett s sidekick except that he is a known master musician and songwriter His performance was that and more - the intimate venue and his music, storytelling and spirit made for a spectacular evening. See him solo if you can!

Second time seeing Mac at the Birchmere. Great show and venue. HOWEVER! The way they do their ticketing leaves much to be desired.

Mac was awesome. Great show. He is such a good story teller and the music is fabulous. He held a meet and greet for all after the show. The venue (The Birchmere) is cool. I don't think there are any bad seats. Food is okay but a bit expensive for what you get. Overall, Mac gets five stars and the venue gets four stars. A great night!

Mac McAnally knocks it out of the park! Fabulous musician, great story teller, and wonderful lyricist. I hope he comes back to the Birchmere soon!

Mac put on a phenomenal show. Eric was great too! The sound was wonderful and I felt as I was sitting in a friend's living room watching and listening to him sing!

First time seeing Mac. Besides a fabulous musician, what a wonderful storyteller! Loved hearing how songs came to be written.

Mac displayed his broad range of musical talents by singing songs from ballads, country, rock, past favorites. He also displayed his talents on many different types of guitars, mandolins, and piano, the venue was intimate and he had many conversations with audience. This was a delightful evening.

Mac McAnally is a great musician, songwriter and storyteller. The first half of the show was just him playing guitar or keyboards, the second half was with a drummer. He was very entertaining with his stories, and his playing and singing are first-rate.

Mac McAnally is an incredibly talented singer/songwriter with a lot of great stories. He has worked with Kenny Chesney and Jimmy Buffett so he has a number of great songs you are sure to recognize.

Of course we expected to enjoy Mac's show, or we wouldn't have been there. But we have to say that he exceeded our expectations. He's a great musician, told great stories, enjoyed the audience, and it was nice to be able to talk with him for a few minutes after the show. If you're on fence about whether to go to a Mac show, I'd recommend you go!

Mac surprised my wife and I with just how funny he is. Between songs he was telling jokes, funny stories about growing up and then some serious stories behind the songs that he has written and performed during the show. He engaged the audience throughout the show and came out to the lobby to greet everyone individually for autographs and pictures. He is very down to earth and a great guitarist and throws some piano time in as well - as a tribute to his mom. It was a great show and we would absolutely see him again.

This is the first time we've seen Mac perform solo and while we knew he was talented, he was over the top GREAT as a soloist. A few of the Coral Reefers and the SMU orchestra complimented his talents both as a singer, musician and songwriter but it was Mac who took the audience and us to another level............. and all for a good cause - EXTRA TABLE. Thanks for the evening Mac!

I've seen Mac only with Buffett... I can't wait to see him in a feature role again. He is a most incredibly talented individual, fantastic voice.

I've seen Mac perform from Tupelo in the early days to Jackson and New Orleans. This was the best ever.

Have seen him several times, love the show he puts on. You certainly can tell why he is the only seventh time winner of the musician of the year. Seven years in a row, WOW. Got great pics, and even a hug from the one and only Big Mac.

Awesome concert & event! More than worth the ticket price. Mac played multiple instruments and told stories of his songs for close to two straight hours. Watching Wyatt Waters do a live painting of the concert was unbelievable. All for the benefit of Extra Table--a win, win, win event!

Mac McAnally is a wonderful entertainer in addition to being an award-winning musician/song-writer. Great ambassador for Mississippi too! The whole evening was so laid back and enjoyable. Loved his selection of songs. The accompaniment by the Coral Reefers, as well as the symphony, gave it a fun twist!

Mac put on a great show with his band and the orchestra. Enjoyed the evening.

Great storytellers. Loved the show. Loved the personal connection to the audience by each performer. Hope they come back soon.

Mac McAnally's solo show: It is very refreshing to see someone so talented and yet humble. The influence he and Jimmy Buffet have had on one another was on full display throughout the evening. Several of their collaborative hits were on full display and Mac's presentation left nothing to be desired. Friendly banter between songs and pleanty of stories from the road and the writing of his hits had to endear him to everyone in the audience.

Not only is Mac AcAnally a wonderful songwriter and musician, he is an excellent headlining entertainer. The songs were all great (including some I had never heard before) but to hear the stories behind the songs added to each one. Mac was warm and engaging (even with the freezing temperatures outside ) and the Bear's Den is a great venue for a more intimate evening of entertainment. Plus it was very nice of Mac to spend time afterwards to meet everyone and pose for pictures. I think I enjoyed this concert even more the the large crowded stadium Jimmy Buffet concerts (though I will certainly still go to those concerts too). The downside would be the number of people who still feel the "No Photography or Video Recording" signs don't pertain to themselves.

I saw Mac when he performed in Muscle Shoals, and I have been a huge Mac fan ever since. I never miss his shows. If you don't know who he is, google him! He writes for ever well known artist, then performs on his own. His concerts are have so much life and emotion to them.
