Bob Dylan

He didn't name it and doesn't refer to it as such, but folk-rock legend Bob Dylan has been on what's become known as his Never Ending Tour since 1988. The longest the Minnesota native has gone without playing a concert since then was a three-month break he took in 1997 to recover from what could have been a fatal chest infection. Dylan has played more than 2,500 gigs during this incredible run, and despite a catalog that dates back more than a half century, the shows aren't greatest-hits rehashes. The iconoclastic singer-songwriter tends to focus on whatever his latest musical project happens to be, and he often reworks his well-known songs significantly.

I left after 30 Minutes. It s like he sang his songs to a different tune. I ve seen him half a dozen times since 1965. It s a shame that this is going to be my last memory. Didn t recognize most of the songs he sung. This was the worst, by far, concert I ve ever seen. The songs he sung like a crooner were the most awful. There was not one song that I liked, and this is coming from a fan of over 50 years. Tell Bob he ruined over 50 years of great memories.

Great venue, looked like not a bad seat in the house.Tremendous acoustics, the show surprisingly on time and awesome. Security was pro and fast. Never , ever bought a poster at a concert. Bought one here. Well prices, and quality protected in a poly bag. First time at Beacon, won't be the last.

Dylan and his band were top notch but the venue was bad. The arena was cold and the floor seats prevent viewing the stage unless you are really tall. It s better for sporting events I m sure. Mavis Staples was okay. Dylan played nonstop, no chitchat at all. It felt rushed.

I thought the Bob Dylan concert last night was great. The musicians were awesome! The only complaint I have is that the sound was too loud at times. It distorted the sound of the instruments and it was hard on my auditory system.

Unless there was a contractual issue that did not allow those those big white video screens to be used throughout the concert, a good portion of the crowd were REDUCED to just listening to the music (which was excellent). Because Willie & Bob were SO FAR removed from Sections 9-17 and the lawn seat patrons, we were actually hoping that they were ACTUALLY THERE & PERFORMING!!! They sounded like they were there. Besides the aforementioned issue, Willie was very good! Bob Dylan and his band was excellent! However, it was a REAL SHAME many could NOT SEE them perform up close in addition to listening to them.

Willie Nelson was great but only played for less than one hour. Bob Dylan did not do any of his favorite tunes that could be recognized by us. Many people walked out. It was a waste of time and money. He did not do Hurricane, Forever Young, Lay Lady Lay, etc. These are the songs that we came to hear.

This show was the first concert that I've ever walked out of. Several factors: poor acoustics, lack of crowd control, a yapping guy behind us that was told 4 times to shut up, smokers who thought it was cool to light up in a stadium and Dylan's lack of diction all contributed to our decision to leave. Dylan songs are quite poetic and frankly it was so difficult to understand what he was saying, that combined with the other factors, it was best to leave. Marcus Amptheatre really needs to be a lot better with directions and controlling the house. What a disappointment and waste of money.

The music was good and Dylan showed some enthusiasm for what he was playing, but the big screens were not turned on at Summerfest. If you weren't in the first 30 rows, you couldn't see the guy. That was a shame!

Both Nelson and Dylan were - as expected - nothing short of fabulous. While each is obviously unique, the two had simplicity in common. Paired down sets, no pomp and circumstance. And, as is apparently characteristic of Dylan, no banter with the crowd. Just music. But, like a really great cake, the performances needed no frosting. The music spoke for itself. Dylan and Nelson are nothing if not consummate musicians. They didn't disappoint. Despite the drunk that spilled beer on me (at what rock show that does not happen??) I walked away with a broad, satisfied smile. And like really good sex, it's still memorable the next day. Sigh...

I admit it--I wanted to hear some of the Dylan classics from the 60s, 70s, 80s. They weren't there. And neither were the large screens which I usually watch almost exclusively...both he and Willie needed them for more engagement.

As a 60s folkie, at some point I was hoping that Willie had stuck around long enough to go acoustic with Dylan and come out for a duet of "Forever Young" as a tribute to Michael Jackson. Smaller venues for both might have worked better but, hey, they're both great artists.

I've been to many Dylan shows, some great, some not so great. This will be my last. It is expected that songs will sometimes be unrecognizable and we must accept that, in a Dylan show. However, the repetitive guitar and base lines made so many of the old songs sound exactly like each other and the melodies were non-existent in some cases. Even when he played harmonica, much of the old magic, still present in recent years, was gone. One bright spot was a new song, "Forever Heart" and "Like a Rolling Stone" was acceptable.

A veteran of 27 shows, several with the latest band, I think this was their best performance together that I have seen. They debuted two from Together through Life, Forgetful Heart and Jolene, the former with Bob center stage alone at the mic, and the latter, the first song of the encore set. I was holding my breath, but Bob delivered Forgetful Heart terrifically well. Bob was in very good voice last night after the warm up Cat's in the Well. The second song, It Ain't Me Babe was excellent. At that point, we should have anticipated we were in for a good one, and we were. It was a great rendition with a strong delivery. Bob was on guitar for the first three numbers before switching to keyboards for the rest of the night. The set list was very good, and of course, Highway 61 was a highlight, Summer Days was excellent, with Donnie on horn, and the crowd loved Like a Rolling Stone. The organ was turned up all night, making for an interesting and slightly different sound. This band seems to have gelled as a unit and hit its stride. I was happy to see several songs from Love and Theft, but objectively, for me, the only clunker of the night was Honest with Me. Considering the strength of the show, that is certainly nitpicking. Kudos to the boys. Well done!

I was truly looking forward to listening to two legends. Dylan's music was great until I heard his voice. I could not understand the lyrics and I was disappointed. We left after 4 songs. Willie on the other hand I thought did a great job so I'm thankful to have at least heard one legend sing.

The band sounded fine, but Dylan's mic was way to loud and sounded like one loud crunchy mess. I could not pick out a single word, it sounded like he swallowed the microphone. Also, the video screens were not on, so from where we were sitting (bleacher seats) we really couldn't see him very well and had nothing to look at.

Both artists turned in very good performances , but they were marred by the booming bass and percussion from another band nearby. I will not go back to the Marcus Ampitheater if this is typical.

The instrumental music was great but I could only hear every 10th word of the lyrics for either Bob Dylan or Willie Nelson. The vocal were almost completely washed out and I felt like I wasted my time going to hear these two greats sing. If I didn't already know the lyrics, I would have no idea what they were doing on the stage vocally. I've been to other concerts at the Marcus Ampitheater and have not had such an an awful time prior to tonigh.

Seeing Dylan and Willie was a great experience. Sound problems plagued the first part of the concert. Most of my friends don't know Dylan's new stuff. I enjoyed the concert and would go again. But I'd be reluctant to encourage anyone other than a Dylan nut like myself to go. Willie Nelson fans wouldn't be disappointed by Willie's concert. It was interesting that many didn't stay for Dylan.

First, the Paramount is amazing. Like a museum of Art Deco. Dazzling. The sound was great and Bob was superb. This was not a McCartney-like presentation of hits to help you relive your youth. All but 4 songs were from 1997 or newer. Bob sounded great (for Bob), the band was locked in and we even got some production values this time in the form of spooky lighting and arty backdrops which is new. I've seen Bob 200+ times and I was a bit concerned about this tour but I'm so glad I went all three nights. My kids loved it as well.

First, I've seen Dylan in 1966, 1978 (twice), 1986, 2009 and now. The venue is superb, but Dylan wasn't. The first three songs were totally unidentifiable as the mixing was so bad. Just noise, that vaguely resembled something you thought you should know. There were a couple of songs from the 70s (Tangled up in Blue & Simple Twist of Fate), and nearly all the rest were post 9/11. Of those the best were Duquesne Whistle, Scarlet and Early Roman Kings. The show was about 1 hour 40 mins long with one encore of one song. Dylan looked very tired by the end.

From the first moment the beautifully subdued lit stage to the final notes of his single encore, Bob Dylan's return to Honolulu was absolutely amazing. I used to help produce concerts for Electric Factory Concerts in Philly '68 - '73. Saw Bob first @ Newport Folk Festival in '66 w Janis Joplin Big Brother & the Holding Co. Saw Bob again twice in '72 when we did Bob Dylan & The Band @ the Spectrum. In '73 saw Dylan, the Dead & Allman Brothers @ Watkins Glen with 450,000 other naked fans. Then in Hawaii in '92 @ the Waikiki Shell - Slow Train Coming Tour & Andrews Amplitheatre @ UH in '98. This show stands up to all of them! The thrill is still there! What style, an aura, amazing stage presence! WOW!!! Everyone @ this show were so blown away!!! Mahalo Nui Loa Mr. Zimmerman !!!

I would've liked to have seen My Morning Jacket and Wilco each get at least an additional half hour to play. There's no need for an opening act at a show like this one. Just let the three headliners roll & give them adequate time to dip into their massive song catalogs. I know this was Bob Dylan's show, but he was pretty forgettable. I realize he's an amazing songwriter, but his performing days are simply behind him.

Really I loved everything about this show: the half-self-mocking humor, the gold embroidery on his suit, the eclectic set list that largely dodged the standards, the way he completely reinvented the handful of standards he did perform, and a mean ass harmonica. The minus, The stage was dark as were his clothes and he had no spotlight, so you had to be close to see him at all. The Plus: The lyrics, pure Dylan, but his band and musical style was upbeat, country, pop, jazzy making it sound cheerful and making me want to dance. It was unexpectedly fun.

Bob was in great voice and had an amazing back up band. He no longer plays guitar on stage, he is either playing keyboards or is out front center stage with a harmonica. If you are only interested in his older music you may be disappointed, he only played 3-4 songs from that era. But if like me, you appreciate his newer stuff (last 10-15 years) you will enjoy it.

Mark Knopfler played on the first three songs: You Ain't Goin' Nowhere Don't Think Twice, It's All Right Things Have Changed A Very special Treat indeed. Bob and the band were fantastic. Bob's vocal was right up front where it should be. Piano playing strong in the mix as well. Sound system excellent. The band was so "tight" they just pulsed and flexed their chops throughout the rather extended set. Bob played TWO off the new record: "Early Roman Kings" & "Soon After Midnight" another treat! He has only been playing one new cut on recent dates. The Ballad of a Thin Man just electrifying !!! Yes he did the Levees gonna break. Hurricane Sandy on our NY/NJ mind.

I came to see a legend, and I wish I could say I saw him. Granted, I bought the cheap seats (never really been a "fan" of Dylan) but even the huge screens were smaller than the band, and the one-camera static shot they projected offered nothing in the way of a better view. The sound was great; that mountainside really offers a projection of the low end like nothing else. The night was wonderful, with a light breeze and not at all hot or cold, though I realize the event organizers had nothing to do with that. I had a great time, but that was probably more due to the overpriced ($14!) beer and good company than the band or the event itself. Dylan sounded terrible, but the band was fine. I didn't hear (or at least recognize) my favorite Dylan songs, I couldn't see anything, and the concession stand closed too early for my liking. On the plus side, there WERE cheap seats, I got some good exercise getting to them, we had no bad experiences (I guess the type to go to a Dylan concert are inherently peaceful), we saw Luke Wilson, and the sound was good. I would have given at least one more star if they'd had a second camera feeding the big screens, getting close-ups of Bob and the band. But overall I got what I wanted, which was to see a legend in person.

With Bob Dylan throughout his career you have to be aware that if your going to hear him perform you are not going to hear familiar renditions, it's going to be challenging, sometimes frustrating but ultimately fantastic when you alter your expectations a bit. Dylan is the only performer I've heard who's vocals are so harsh and raspy but somehow still commands our unending loyalty and affection. I 've been a longtime fan but I usually needed the first verse into the chorus until I recognized the song, and thats if I knew the song at all. But even still at whatever age he is now he's got an electricity about him that is palpable. He now plays the acoustic piano in shows which is a new thing from what i've heard and is actively leading his fantastic band musically with his keyboard playing. For me the magic of Dylan the night I saw him in San Diego was his harmonica. His playing was soulful, exhilarating and fun. He was his most animated on stage blowing his harmonica. I would say that in this stage of his career Dylan isn't going to win a new generation of fans with his live performance but if your a devotee and know his history you will be completely knocked out.

He stands next to Homer, among others. There were no surprises for me in this concert, 'cause I expected to be surprised. I love his new vocal 'sound' to cope with his aging. I was looking forward to hearing his new stuff, but it's always 'new stuff'. Thank you Mr. Zimmerman. I felt after reading "Chronicles", that I had experienced a small part of the 'real' DYLAN. Mr. Knopfler was KILLER with his celtic influenced music. I am mainly English (part Algonquian, though) and was very 'moved' by the ancestral themes.

5 stars for Knopfler. 1 star for Dylan. Knopfler and band were incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed them. The banter between the violin and flute were enthralling. They brought a large amount of variety, personality, and talent to their music. As much as I've always loved Dylan, at least the old Dylan, I was sad to hear that his voice is beyond gone. It was painful to listen to and I could barely ever make out any words. He seldom "sang." He spoke most of the lyrics in his lowest, least attractive grumble though his higher singing voice wasn't bad, when he got there. Then, I don't know what he was doing on the keyboard at times. He loudly played many discordant chords/rifts throughout the evening that I simply could not chalk up to art. His harmonica playing was fine and he should have done more. Still, I was eager to hear some of the old lyrics, old melodies, his meaningful whines and wit. He did do about 4 of his old songs but he flattened out the melodies and rhythms so much that they were unrecognizable. He did this with all the songs, old and new, such that all the songs sounded just the same.

I always enjoy seeing Bob Dylan at this particular venue which is still seemingly intimate in size. Although it is a haul to get there, I'm always glad I've made the effort, since the grounds are beautiful, well-lit with soft lanterns and the food choices are great-from vegetarian to smokehouse meat fare. Obtaining tickets is also less of a hassle than through other ticketing agencies, although someday I'd like to be able to obtain tickets near the front. I suppose only members get the best seats in the house. Dylan is always incomparable, whether playing piano or organ (although I miss the organ and wish he played both during the set). I hope his touring, especially in the NE U.S. remains never-ending!

We all know Mister Zimmerman has a reputation for doing his own thing without interest or concern in what the people want. This is why I respect him and totally back him on it. However, we all feel the same way, I think, that when you hear the opening notes to 'Ballad of a Tall, Thin Man' or 'Thing have Changed', things get exciting! Bob got off the keyboard (the only place I saw him when I went to his two shows 5 years ago) and he looked at us, he performed, he danced and boy, man's got some moves! I would say there was nothing I didn't love about the show, but no, love is not a strong enough word. I borrow some words from Woody Allen to describe it, luff, lourve, and adored every moment of this show.

Great show! BD did lots of his great tunes includ. Tangled Up In Blue, Desolation Row, Blind Willie McTell, Highway 61 Revisited. Simple Twist Of Fate, Like A Rolling Stone, All Along The Watchtower. Leon Russell was a perfect opener. What was unpleasant was that Bethel Woods Center for the Arts makes attending a concert a never ending attempt to separate you from your money - $6 for bottled tap water, $12 for a beer, etc., etc. That along with the VERY heavy-handed security made an otherwise beautiful place a disturbing environment. It may be a Woodstock Museum but it is truly an anti-Woodstock, Stepford Wives, venue. Unlikely to return.

I have seen Bob now yearly for the past 24 years and enjoy each event. Sure.., I wish he would play the guitar and harmonica regularly like before, but I really do enjoy each show. I never really know what to expect and tonight was no different. For example, his new renditions of old classics was really cool and I thought sounded great. And get this..., I am learning to really enjoy the Frank Sinatra songs as Bob throws so much real emotion at each one. He closed with Ballad Of A Thin Man and I loved it! What can you say about Bob, if you go looking for the hits you remember, you will be disappointed, after 60 yrs he likes to mix things up a bit, he stood at the piano like Jerry Lee for a couple songs then went into crooner mode for some standards, he s still one cool cat, he never strapped on a guitar which was a little disappointing for me but with Charlie Sexton and the rest of his band there was nothing missing in the mix. He also never spoke a word during the hour and a half show just went from one tune to the next. Heard some were disappointed but I knew what to expect and being in the front row it was an incredible experience

My wife is a life long fan. I thought his show was fun from the start to the end. The songs were fun and the band was well "tuned". Bob sang every song without backup. The whole show was a joy to see and hear. My only criticism would be that there was no high-point. It just was over.

Bob Dylan played 2 classic songs, w/Blowing In The Wind remixed and almost unrecognizable. There was no interaction with the crowd or between Dylan's band. Dylan seemed awkward without a guitar in his hand and seemed more comfortable behind the piano. Everything seemed very vanilla. Dylan seemed arkward being on stage. No singing along or going down memory lane tonight.

Bob was amazing on HIS special night. Earlier in the day Bob was awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize for literature. The moment Bob Dylan again went electric was an indication this was no ordinary performance. It came as he broke into Simple Twist of Fate at the Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Thursday night. Earlier in the day, Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. The decision to dust off the Fender Stratocaster, which some fans estimated he had not played onstage in some four years, might have been coincidental. But, there is a much better chance that it was a well thought out move. The Chelsea was jam packed and people were getting turned away if they thought they could "walk up" and grab a ticket. It was enough of a treat to see Bob pick up the Fender Stratocaster but then to finish up with a spot on cover of and old Sinatra song Why Try to Change Me Now", was the perfect ending to a perfect evening to a perfect day all around. Cheers

Nice selection of songs! Great Venue! & wonderful audience, so respectful you could've heard a pin drop during most of the performance, which is so important when taking in Dylan. Thought ending the 2nd set with "Autumn Leaves" was absolutely beautiful, as was coming back out with "Blowing in the Wind", and such an unfamiliar yet incredible rendition. Thank you, Mavis Staples (& Happy Birthday too), Bob Dylan, and everyone out there at Thompson's Point. Only regret that there was absolutely no personal greeting, that band members weren't introduced, and that Mavis and Bob didn't collaborate on at least one piece.

Lovers of classic oldies had best stay home as Dylan played only three - Tangled Up In Blue, Blowing in the Wind, and She Belongs to Me - and even then Dylan played them differently than the classic versions we've come to love. Having been warned the setlist would follow absolutely the setlist of previous concerts on the tour, my expectations were managed and I was able to enjoy some of the lesser known songs. Dylan mostly selected quiet ballads, and I thought Things Have Changed, Duquesne Whistle, and Spirit on the Water were especially well done. In many, Dylan actually sung clearly enough for me to make out the lyrics but I'd encourage attendees of future concerts to print out the lyrics so they can follow Bob's warbling. It was strange to see Dylan cover seven songs of the twenty selected, including four by Sinatra. I couldn't help but think today's 75-year old Dylan has a different view of Old Blue Eyes than the early 1960s Greenwich Village Dylan. I do have to say I enjoyed Dylan's cover of Melancholy Mood. As typical, Dylan did not address the audience or acknowledge Boston in any way. As usual, his band was superb. Mavis Staples was terrific in the warmup act. One of the original Staples Singers, she belted out the songs with great gusto - think Tina Turner without the legs. All in all, I had a decent time and the setting along Boston's waterfront was an exquisite backdrop to the concert. I even sprung for the $35 tee showing the Duqesne Train.

DYLAN is very talented, I took my husband on his birthday but we were very disappointed that he did none of his famous music. It became rather boring! Also at his request there were no photo's allowed, I know he is 76 but this is 2016, It's all about photo's and media.

First off thank you to a legend. Dylan does not take the easy road pleasing fans with familiar hits rather ever the artist recreating himself in news sounds and genres that mix his brilliance and remix once familiar tunes into a new realm. He belts out his sounds with a rhythmic beat more familiar of elevators or cruise ships set sail for older days and almost lulls us to sleep however fitting for his own timeliness. Latin and perhaps French influences surround his island like sounds. Lyrics seem to tell a tale of life's dedicated love to his wife perhaps as he thanks his lover for sticking around and saying I couldn't have done it without you and then throwing her out in a later song which depicts being sick of love, rather harshly. Perhaps the answer is still blowing in the wind or even tangled up in blue I took my 15 year old to a legend and left feeling old myself but lucky to be alive and kicking Bob Dylan set the mood as if he is still one step ahead of us all

Feeling GRATEFUL to have shared the SAME air space as Bob Dylan!! Bob Dylan on stage in front of you and playing his harmonica?!!! Take IN that moment of acknowledgement and SAVOR it!!! And also Mavis Staples!!! This woman was AWESOME!....My review on Bob is this.... I HAVE to first acknowledge that my Love and Respect for this man is NOT based on his singing "attributes" as much as it on his poetry within his songs!! His new cd is him singing standards... Terry & I like it...BUT ... My only criticism of the show was ... It would have been NICE had he weaved in MORE of HIS older songs....Like I said....I was aware of his LYRICS as sung by OTHER artists like Judy Collins , Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary!!! .. I do know, we both enjoyed the show! And FRICKING Mavis Staples was TOTALLY AWESOME!!! If I was a TRUE critic... I would say that Bob should have done a JAM session with HER before calling it a night! The crowd we shared this show with was amazing! I was surprised at how many younger people were there to be perfectly honest!!

Songs from his new album were echoes of Leonard Cohen, and had some lyrical depth only Dylan could create, However, the complete absence of his original songs (60's) was a huge disappointment, and the main reason many of us in his generation attended the performance.

We were really excited about this concert - we grew up listening to Dylan, the iconic poet of our youth whose ballads accompanied us as we protested the Vietnam war, civil rights, women's rights. We were white kids living in the 'burbs, fueled with righteous indignation and fury at the establishment - the times really were a-changin'. Our parents did their best to shield us from the counterculture movement . . . but there was Dylan, stirring us up. How disappointing it was 45 years later to flock like lemmings to drink wine on a warm summer night and listen to Dylan sing those songs and stir up our sleeping activism. Well, I like Sinatra, Irving Berlin & Cy Coleman - but I came for DYLAN! The few songs he sang had different arrangements and the classics were ignored. Blowing in the Wind just blew! No personality, no connection to the audience, no enthusiasm at all. We all paid $100 to walk away disillusioned and feeling ripped-off. Thankfully Mavis Staples was great, as was the venue, weather, wine, food and friends. We would have been better off to stay home, light up the backyard firepit and listen to Dylan on iTunes. It's sad that he meant so much to us, yet his thousands of adoring fans appeared to mean so little to him. As teens, we worked long hours pumping gas, mowing lawns and flipping burger so that we could buy his albums and he doesn't seem to give a damn about the fans that made him a wealthy man.

It is hard to explain how I feel about the concert. I'm glad I got to see Bob Dylan again (it has been 45 years since I saw him at the Bangladesh Concert at MSG). However, being 60 years old, my favorite Dylan songs are his early work, and according to the review in the paper the next day, he only performed two songs from his early years (Tangled Up in Blue, and Blowing in the Wind). The disappointing aspect, was I did not recognize those two songs when he did them. I thought I recognized Tangled Up in Blue, but wasn't sure. I KNOW I didn't recognize Blowing in the WInd. At first I thought it was me, and then I saw Tom Hanks on a David Letterman show, and he said the EXACT SAME THING about a Bob Dylan concert he and his wife went to see some years prior. The venue was great, the seats were great, his backup band was great, and Bob Dylan himself was great (didn't play the guitar once, but did play the piano). However, he did not "converse" with the audience at all (except to say they were taking a break). He also never introduced his backup band. If you like the "old" Bob Dylan stuff, don't waste your money. If you like his recent stuff, I think you'll enjoy yourself.

We decided to go because Dylan is a music icon. I was never a fan of his music but know many of his songs and was looking forward to hearing him perform them. This concert lacked that special feeling that you get when you attend a concert by a seasoned professional who has been in the business for so long. His stage presence was nil. We left at intermission after not hearing one song we came to hear.

Enjoyed listening to all the new arrangements, wish there were a few more older songs (how can you leave out all along the watchtower?)and what's up with the no photos policy Bob???? There were security guys running around the theatre all night flashing their flashlights at people - NOT fan friendly and a waste of effort for what reason?? The band is crisp and professional. Sound is really good in this theatre, Bob sounded relatively good as well.

First let me say...almost anything (any performance) of Dylan would have been satisfying - b/c although I missed the era (60's)...I wanted to experience Bob Dylan live! With that said...I have little to compare Dylan's performance to - other CDs and online concerts. I very much enjoyed the experience. Granted much of the music (songs) were indistinguishable (beyond the Dylan voice)...LOL However, there was so much good "energy" there...with folks that experienced Dylan in the 60's - it made the concert worthwhile. Bottom line...none of Dylan's songs sound like his (recent) recordings. The Band wasn't impressive (wasn't jazzy, wasn't rock and certainly wasn't folk...more like bluegrass...if you like that kind of thing). 50 years of successful music isn't anything to shrug off. GO...you'll enjoy the concert and you'll be able to tell folks..."I saw Dylan LIVE" peace

Bob, played a lot of his new music with his band, any old songs that were played, were barely recognizable. At the top of the performance poor ole bob sounded like he had had a rough show the night before and it took him a few songs to be understandable. Unless you are a fan of Bob Dylan and his new music, this show was not worth the money paid. I could justify seeing the master do his originals, but I felt a little cheated paying that much for the non essential Bob...

The Band was tight and the night was bright. Bob was his iconic self in full drag. We all loved him. The World Series may or may not have been on his radar. After the win, the crowd took a polite opportunity at the close of the next song to scream and yell with joy. He might have thought it was for how well the song went. And, in part, it was.

The Paramount is a local Jewel-that alone made the concert worth the admission. Bob and his band were in fine form. They work a static setlist so everything is perfect but there are still some rare treats and surprises. Bob moved well and played the piano with great emotion. I went back the next night and saw the show again with my son. We had 4th row seats what a great concert!

I thought his concert at Freedom Hill 2 years ago was the best since Fox Theatre about 19 years ago---but I think it's a close tie. Fox Theatre is such a great place we had 5th row center and that's what you need when you see Dylan. 19 years ago the concert was longer had a couple of surprise guests and I think that is the only concert I can remember Bob actually speaking to the audience. He doesn't need to speak-his music does that. I was very excited when he added Detroit to his schedule. Have been to many ofhis concerts and they have all been great- the only one that was a bit dissapointing was at Meadowbrook Theatre-he played for a very short time-seemed like 6 songs and that was it- like he was having a bad day seems like he was not happy.- but it was still great to see such an incredible person.

This is the absolute best performance I've ever seen Bob and the band give. I think the small venue suited the personality of the group as the audience and the band fed off each others energy. The vitality and charisma of Dylan was evident all through the show as he smiled, danced, grimaced, gestured, laughed, and genuinely connected with the fans. This is the first time I've seen Bob do songs front and center with just microphone and harmonica. At times he reminded me of a Las Vegas singer or 1950's crooner then he'd bring up the harmonica and go into an oxygen deprivation rift then back to singing without so much as a breathe in between. The amazing show had no warm up band, lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes and featured a 3 song encore. They gave an unforgettable rendition of Ballad of a Thin Man, Beyond the Horizon & All Along the Watchtower. If this is the disposition of Bob and the band during this tour, it is a must see! They were so connected with the audience I felt like they really didn't want it to end. GREAT CONCERT!

This is my fifth time seeing Bob Dylan and it is, hands down, the most consistently excellent show of his that I've ever seen. We all know that it can be hit or miss with Bob from night to night (and even from song to song), but the performances at this show were uniformly excellent and the setlist was inspired. I loved the heavy emphasis on new material and pulling out "Man in the Long Black Coat" was a real treat. The highlight, for me, was the powerfully moving tandem of "Cold Irons Bound" and "Workingman's Blues #2." The quintessential performances of the evening. I and everyone else at Magness Arena were treated to a top quality show. I don't know if it gets much better than that.

A straight blues rock extravaganza. Out of the gate full tilt, but reigned in just enough. He played plenty of greatest hits, was clearly understandable and went on for almost 2 hours! "Workingman's Blues #2" was the highlight for me and in the encore they played "Like A Rolling Stone", "Jolene" and "All Along The Watchtower". It's said that Charlie Sexton is Bob's favorite guitarist to play with but they hadn't played together in a while. He's back on tour and he just shredded. Easy to see why Bob loves playing with him.

ROCKIN BAND!!!! Unfortunately, Bob's voice is getting worse as he gets older. It took awhile to figure out what song he was doing. He has changed the arrangements on all his material.......which would be O.K. if he enunciated clearly as he did when he was young. For an artist whose words are so important, this was a frustrating part of the show!

I have never seen Bob Dylan perform before. I went to see Charlie Sexton play with Mr. Dylan as he is one of the finest artists out there and under the radar for what reason I do not know. Rock n Roll and amazing music has no AGE I am happy to say....... I was one of the few young ones in the crowd and everyone had a fantastic time forgetting their life of daily details to be wildly entertained by BOB DYLAN and his fantastic Band. BOB still rocks out in proper attire and a bit of bling ..... you go Mr. Dylan. I so enjoyed a nite of different sounds and was fully satisfied with the energetic performance and great songs.... While watching in amazement how so talented and so full of life n energy Mr. Charlie Sexton is on those guitars as well as on the stage. He creates all these different sounds and tones on everyone of those guitar changes one talented man that continues to amaze us all everytime we see him..... Charlie Sexton is the icing on the cake for Mr Dylan"s tour. I would have thought he would do some back up vocals with BOB Dylan. Maybe that is something that Mr. Dylan can work on to have Charlie sing with him. It would be a waste not to have that man's beautiful voice heard on the tour. After 2 hours of music..you will go home and dig out your Dylan Records or buy a CD..... Music is for the Soul......What a up lifting show everyone should see Bob Dylan's show on this tour to experience the magic he and his band has to share with us all......

Willie Nelson is a fantastic musician and is very generous as you could see when he threw his hat off into the crowd. This particular venue was more intimate making the experience much more pleasurable. The intensity of the sound coming from the stage was incredible. It was so powerful; the base drum echoed in your chest. When Dylan's set came on, you could feel the excitement in the crowd building, Seeing a legend of music on stage was mind blowing. I will never forget that concert as long as I live. Harvey's did an excellent job all the attendants as well as security were very friendly and gladly helped everyone to their seats.
