This was an absolutely amazing, stripped down performance. Just Savion and four exceptional jazz musicians. They all played as one band with Savion as the conductor. Hands down, one of the best performances I have ever seen

No other tap dancer that I know of could hold a candle to Savion Glover. For two hours, he wowed the audience with this incredible skill. I've never seen anything else quite like it.

Visions of a Bible was an truly unforgettable evening. Mr. Glover uses his body as a rhythm instrument in this truly unique setting. The first half is a duet between taps and voice (Ms. Hunter). The interplay between the two is original and breathtaking. The second half is between Mr. Glover and his band. What a jazz treat. I often wondered about the dynamics of the band with 4 rhythm instruments (drums, bass, piano and taps), but the result was fascinating. A unique sound and rhythm I will long remember. I first saw Mr. Glover in Jelly's Last Jam, and while amazing even then, he's come so far in skill and understanding of tap as a unique art form. I highly recommend this show.

This is the second time that I have seen him live. Once again, he did not disappoint. The woman (unfortunately I cannot remember her name) that sang with him during the first Act was superb and definitely held her own. Neither over shawdowed the other. The second Act was breathless and hard to put words to. He and his band brought you into their world as each member played their instrument while Savion matched them with tap and even occasionally song. His band rivals any touring jazz band. His energy is unmatched. He had a personality during this Act made you feel as if you were watching a rehersal were he simply showcased his talent and just had fun. You leave the show wondering were this bottomless energy comes from...and how many shirts does he sweat though on tour!!!

A wonderful summer evening! VIP seating close to the stage … lovely, friendly people at my table … several glasses of cold, sweet Riesling … delicious fried catfish bits and spicy, Cajun shrimp … and almost two hours of being mesmerized by the greatest living tap dancer as he improvised to the music of several world class jazz musicians … Is there anything that could have been better?! Hardly! Great venue and great talent.

You couldn't tell by my overall rating but I'm actually a Savion Glover fan. My family and I was disappointed because the "holiday" show was not put together well at all. Sure there were a couple of x-Mas songs but the stage lacked presence and I felt Savion could've wore something festive for $100 a ticket. As we all know, Savion can tap his *** off but did we have to watch him tap in 12 minute intervals at a time with no organized routine? He had a few dancers come out to change the pace a bit (looked like his students) but they were lack luster and didn't keep our interest. He should have incorporated children. Everyone loves to see a talented child. I mean after all, it was a holiday show. Didn't he know children were going to be there? Besides the fact that we were in folding chairs that were placed directly in front of the speaker (not an actual theater seat) and Savion came out 15 minutes after the show stared (he said he was next door eating) was enough for me to say, "Savion, you owe me change for that show"! Not worth it...Sorry

My mind was blown after the first 5 minutes, and my mouth was hanging open the rest of the time. I have been waiting a long time to see him (my son was taught tap by one of his proteges). The band and the other tappers were also phenomenal. Savion is a world-class entertainer.

I love tap dancing; my wife loves tap dancing...we had high expectations. The band came on stage, and went into a 20-30 minute opening sequence that was basically inaudible. Then Savion Glover came on to perform a 'holiday' program. SOMEWHERE in each number was a trace of holiday music, but almost impossible to discern. There was a vocalist, who could not be heard at all. The music was not mixed, the trumpet dominated, it was impossible to sit through (and yes, have eclectic tastes!) We left 30 minutes early....have not done this in over 10 years. I am certainly not alone.....OHHHH, how I would like a refund.

I left the concert speechless! Savion Glover's talent by far can not be duplicated. His energy is electrifying! I particularly enjoyed his heartfelt dedication in the program to the legends that inspired him. He embraces the audience as a talented friend. I hope and wish more young people would study tap and not feel they have to scream disrespectful lyrics with their pants hanging down. They should be exposed to Savion. To the students that were on stage with Savion-Keep up the fantastic work! How fortunate to dance with Savion. I have one suggestion. It seems like your performance would be enhanced with stronger wardrobe presence. The black leggings/ pants were nice. The tops took away from your moment. You were stll amazing!

Besides the fact that everyone in this show looked like they just could not be bothered dressing for the show. ( except for singer in red dress) half the show the dancers faced the musicians and not the audience. The stage had nothing. No color no Xmas tree, menorah or anything. Sold as a holiday show. Dancers were nothing special and feel like we wasted our time and money. Never again.

I attended this event with my two teenaged daughters who love to tap. This was my Christmas present for them. We were all excited and knew the show would be good, but were we wrong! It was AMAZING!!! Savion's masterful performance leaves you breathless. His energy and unique performance style is hypnotic. But I also must say that we were so impressed by his dance troupe's ability. Although he is definitely the star, they are all accomplished dancers and were just as captivating. I highly recommend this show to everyone! Savion Glover's performance did not disappoint. His opening solo was exciting and worth the price of admission alone. The addition of the jazz band took his performance over the top. His dance resembles one of the instruments in a jazz combo. He directed the performance without being instrusive. The entire performance was smooth. He so closly resembles one of my dance idols, Gregory Hines. This is a can't miss opportunity. Don't miss it.

For years my daughter and I have looked forward to attending a Savion Glover performance. We were delighted to be able to attend this recent performance. Not having seen him perform in years past I am not sure how his performances have changed or evolved. This was not the dancing performance we anticipated. He has evolved more to a dance as a form of music/musical accompaniment. While it was interesting, creative and passionate for the artists, it was not what I expected. I would not be interested in seeing him perform again.

Mr Glover s feet seem to come from another planet. I was watching them and still can t figure out how they made all those sounds! That man s legs are a national treasure. The show celebrated Coltrane s music. And the entire evening was a celebration. The vocalist and musicians supported Mr. Glover s talent , and together they created art that I won t soon forget. Also, it was my first time to NJPAC- gorgeous venue! I hope to go back soon.

When I read the story and bought the tickets, I expected a really cool tapping show with Savion... When we arrived, we saw an amazing group of more than twenty 6-18 year olds who sang, danced, tapped, and performed as though they had been doing it their entire lives! We were pleasantly surprised to see young people being the center of the story and show. Amazing job Savion & team!

I thought the show was good, but unfortunately not at all what I expected. Quite a few years ago we saw "Noise and Funk" and I thought the format would be more along those lines. This show is basically a two man tap dance show - each tapping in approx 6ft sq space. Amazing dancing, but.....does not hold a candle to Noise and Funk! Found myself wanting more, waiting for something to happen, longing for more Noise and Funk stuff...BUT it never came!

Absolutely incredible performance. I have to admit that I was skeptical about how well a tap dancing performance would hold my attention, but I was very wrong. My girlfriend and I never thought that Savion and Marshall would perform nonstop for over 90 minutes basically without a break, but they made it look easy. About the only clue we had that let us know their dancing was not as easy as it looked was the slow spreading of perspiration wetness on their clothes. That actually seemed to add to the awesome performance we were witnessing. This was 100% real....... no routine change of clothes, just nonstop jaw-dropping dance. At one point, it hit me that Savion and Marshall seemed to be having a spirited conversation not with words, but almost like one would forcefully tap dance a comment and the other would just as forcefully tap dance a reply. Great stuff !!

Let me start off by saying, no doubt that Savion is the best tap dancer that ever lived. However, his show was a disservice to his fans who follow him religiously. I didn't pay to see a dance marathon, I came to be entertained by Savion while at the same time watch him dance. This was truly a megalomaniacal exhibition of something that he perceived as entertaining. It was also billed as a tribute to Sammy Davis Jr. and Gregory Hines. It was not anything of the sort. This was truly a self centered tribute to himself, albeit horribly done. Apparently, I was not the only onethat felt this way, evidenced by people vacating early. Savion, please bring back the noise, bring back the funkkkkkkkkkkkkkk !!!

While the tap was amazing as always with Savion, the show was disappointing. There was almost no music, it wasn't nearly as entertaining as previous shows from him, and I actually got bored at times. His dancing is truly a feat of nature and amazing to see, but I would've liked more of a show and not just 2 people with a slab of wood dancing for 2 hours.

My husband and I were looking forward of an entertaining evening of tap with Savion. What we experienced was a monotonous, non-stop hour and a half of in your face marathon tap that was to showcase how long Savion could produce. A second person joined him, there was no introduction to the audience, and it didn't seem to matter that we were even there. Upon completing the show, the second player left the stage, no acknowledgment on his part of an audience being there, and when Savion ended his reign of the night, he turned his back, curtain closed, and off he went. The comment we heard behind us said it all -"at least we know there'll be NO encore"! We came away thinking that the star of the night had absolutely no interaction with his audience, didn't seem to care, and honestly, we don't either. Wouldn't see him again- thought he came across as rude and alouf.

Savion and guest were great. It's amazing the range of sound they were able create. Non stop tapping for over 90 minutes. The venue itself was way too hot. Some ac would have made the event 5 stars.

OMG--I cannot say enough. Amazing is an understatement. I look forward to the day he is somewhere close enough where I can see him again and take my daughter.

I saw Savion the last time he came to DC and I loved it. This time, the performance was overly political and lacked the lightness and fun I had come to expect. Most people in DC are immersed in politics all day, and probably go to an event like Savion for an escape - for enjoyment. I didn't want to be thrust back into an artist's political messaging campaign. The "acoustic" version of Savion was disappointing, lacking the usual interplay between Savion and the music accompaniment. Unfortunately, the percussion only performance quickly made the spectacular seem mundane. I am deeply sympathetic to Trayvon and support the Martin family during this horrible ordeal; I hope justice is served.

Savion's tribute to Trayvon Martin was moving and powerful. The performance was disappointing - repetitive, monotonous & boring. Couldn't compare to a fabulous Savion show I took in at the Warner Theatre several years back.

This show was absolutely amazing. I have loved Savion since I was a child. The show was entertaining, Savion participated with the audience, and the band was fabulous. This man doesn't just dance to the music, he IS the music. A must see!

First time I've seen him in person, and he was amazing! His feet were lightning fast, and he had perfect precision! Simply mesmerizing! I've known about him since he was "the Tap Dance Kid" --- I was a bit older than him and taking tap and jazz lessons (10 yrs. total). It was so great to see other generations ---- young girls as well as young women (high school & college age) dance students --- appreciating Mr. Glover's extreme talent after all these years. He also seemed like a vey nice man --- he acknowledged and thanked (by name) the theater's backstage crew, and acknowleged a few young dance students he had met at a Q & A session he held for ticketholders before the show. (I was disappointed I wasn't able to go to that). If you can appreciate great tap dancing, go see him if possible!

Savion Glover is genius! You will be amazed by his talent, which seems to flow through every pore of his body, not just his miraculous tapping feet. You will not believe the symphony of sounds that are generated from his feet and his stamina is unmatched. A must-see for every dancer, musician and artist...

I've had the great pleasure of seeing Savion Glover perform through the years. It's hard to believe that he just keeps getting better. I've never seen or heard sounds like what he performed. The man has taken tap to a whole new place and it's one you won't want to miss.

I had never seen Mr. Glover in person and was just expecting to be entertained. I was not expecting the experience I had. I truly felt a connection with him as did all the other audience members I spoke to. He danced so hard it made ME tired. He really left everything out there on the stage. I was blessed by the experience - and SO glad that took along my 78 year-old mother. She was smiling and commenting the whole time. She said she felt like connection with Mr. Glover as well.

What a show! Savion Glover was unbelievable!!!!! He never stops tapping. The ultimate tap dancer. Visions of the Bible was an excellent performance. I loved the interaction between him, the singer and the jazz combo.
