We had the biggest laughs we have had in a long time. Steve Solomon is amazingly talented. His family antics are hysterical to listen to. He has great timing and covers so many phases of aging parents and the complex dynamics of a mixed Italian and Jewish family. We recommend it highly to anyone wanting an entertaining, enjoyable evening out.

Jokes about pee, poop, and farts? What are we, six? We left at intermission. Wish I'd read reviews before spending $90 on this drivel for my husband and me.

Thought it was very entertaining and funny. Felt like home to me. I am 50% Italian and the rest is mostly German/Irish mix..Very funny, especially when he talks about his cousins/aunts, uncles, friends. I though the bit about the dog was very funny as well. My husband is from New Jersey and can relate also to the east coast comedy. I would recommend this show to any one, any age!

Over all very good. The time flew by...I thought I was only there a 1/2 hour. There was probably more he could have said. Most of us are from diverse ethnic backgrounds and CAN relate. Thank you. Wish I could have got the discount offered by e-mail but didn't understand ONLY by e-mail. Hope you have better attendance most of the seats were empty...the show deserved much more.

Show was very funny. Was really worth the price of the tickets. Show was meant for an older crowd, young people would probably be lost in the script. Very talented, voices were great.

I did catch some old lines interjected into his performance (e.g. some Henny Youngman lines)...but what makes a good comedic performance is the delivery and behavior of the performer. Steve's timing was excellent; his emphasis was perfect, his body language just right....made BOTH listening and watching so comfortable. If you presented him again...I would go again...and this time with more family and friends. very nostalgic

The play was flat, and for the most part boring. A few funny lines but very forced and "cliche" tired worn out jokes.

Title of this is very appealing, the actual performance was not. It's a one man show with overacting, predictable stereotypes that repeated for the first 45 minutes of the show. I can't review the remainder of the show because we left at intermission. Truly, the theme of this show could have been made into a really cute play with additional actors and a bit more of a story line. It was a lot of money to spend on, what felt like, too long of a comedy stand-up act. Would not recommend to others.

Below average show. Literally a few real laughs over a 2-hour period, but mostly a lot of old jokes and over-used cliches. One man shows are tough anyway, so the dialogue definitely could have been sharper and funnier. It probably would benefit from having more characters and actors.

I guess I missed the part that this was a stand-up comedian show - thought we were attending a play. But it didn't matter - I was gradually sucked in, started laughing, and then my breath flew away as I laughed TOO hard! Very cute show - I could relate to so much of it, but the talent of "Steve" was amazing. He played so many parts - so many nuances. Great job!

This one man show is engaging from beginning to end! The theatre is lovely and easily accessible from I71; free parking is ample. Peter Fogel capably incorporates a variety of voices and accents as he tells the audience about his life while he waits to see his psychiatrist. The play was written by Brooklyn native Steve Solomon. It may help if you're familiar with Jewish or Italian culture, but it doesn't matter, because anyone can relate to problems with aging parents, a troublesome marriage and quirky relatives. I highly recommend the show.

We were really looking forward to a funny afternoon out. Our family left during intermission because none of us were enjoying it. The attempted humor was bawdy and crass. Also, actions like crotch-grabbing were unexpected and distasteful. Our daughter and her daughter were just offended by the language and actions. The advertisement for the play did not indicate it was R-rated.

This play was wonderfully put together! There were four of us and we had great seats, the only problem was at times he was hard to hear - Through no fault of the actor but probably the acoustic of the Auditorium Theater. If you have a hearing problem, then it was harder to hear. There were so many things he said that we related to, we laughed through most of the play. We are hoping he brings his other plays back to Rochester as we would see him again and next time recommend more friends join us. Fabulous evening!

Well-done one man show, with many fine one-liners, many of them old but recounted with fine accents and delivery. I don't think you need to be Jewish or italian (or in therapy) to enjoy this, but it helps!

This man is so talented and funny. I don't go to performances like this but it was a gift for my step mother and this was her choice. I couldn't be more delighted that she chose this. It was so nice to forget the world for two hours and step into his years growing up. I would definately go see it again. I am sure there is something I missed . If you have the chance to go , don't miss it. Well worth the $$.Try to sit up front , close and personal it's more fun.

I enjoyed the performer who was able to engage the audience and able to elicit laughter without using the F word. I enjoy watching comedians who have the ability to make people laugh without using bad language...... a little bit is okay when used in the context of a joke but going over-board with bad language just bores me. I liked that a matinee show was available, gave us enough time to have dinner at a reasonable time afterward, in all a great day!

A very enjoyable show. Very intimate and engaging. I don't feel you have to be Italian or Jewish or even in therapy to enjoy this show. We very much enjoyed the play/monologue. We understood the cultures so it was hilarious. The beginning was a little slow but it took off after the intermission. One can sit anywhere in the theatre and see perfectly well; and the audience should be mature to understand the humor. Worth seeing this play.

I didn't have the nerve to leave at intermission like two other people in my row did. The play is a one man standup. I didn't know that when I purchased the tickets. I had the pleasure of sitting in the front row and got to hear and see Ron Tobin perform Therapy on himself perfectly. I recommend this show to anyone who comes away from a family gathering with any kind of negative feelings. It was the funniest one-man show I've seen in I don't know how long. The jokes and material were relevant to anyone and everyone and my 96 year old Grandma and I were practically rolling in the aisles! Ron Tobin has the talent and was an extremely appreciative man when we met him in the lobby after the show.

Saw the show on a lark. If you are under the age of 55, you aren't likely to enjoy the script. More or less a Seinfeld episode with social commentary from the Baby Boomer set. Those in the audience who look to be of that generation were rolling on the floor laughing. My date and I are in our late 30s and found very little of the monologue original, or even funny. I would note that the actor gives a splendid performance, which is the only reason we didn't leave at intermission.

We traveled in from the states to see this show and don't regret it for a second. I was by far the youngest person there (34) and could still appreciate the humor and sincerity to his story telling delivery. It was great to go to a show that didn't deem it necessary to be highly technological or overly vulgar. Good hearted laughs. He deserves a better venue than the Bathurst Theatre.
