Bardo Pond

Headliners Bardo Pond were blazingly amazing. But then again, they always draw a great crowd at the Mercury Lounge and they always sound great there as well. Would still love to hear them play Be A Fish live Opening act Snowblink from, I believe Montreal Canada (may be Toronto) were a beautiful surprise. Never heard them before and found them quite interesting. Live they were a reverb drenched psych-folk duo. Little haunting with out going too far into that goth region (not that goth music hasn't its place). Reminded me a little of Vashti Bunyan or The Sallyangie with a little Lisa Germano thrown in. Very nice....bought their vinyl Surf City was decent. I first thought they were some kind of krautrock type band as their opening song was very remenicent of CAN. They quickly went to a more punky/pop/surf sound for the rest of the set. Very nice...
