Roanoke Symphony Orchestra

Oh my goodness! From the moment the first note entered the arena... the voices, the orchestra, and the enthusiasm on stage was contagious. Who would have thought listening to tunes of Journey with the Symphony could be so exhilarating!

These events never disappoint. The RSO was wonderful playing the hits by Journey. And the Canadian group singing the songs was unreal!!! Sounded just like the recordings. Had so much fun

First experience at the symphony... will definitely go again

My sister and I took my mom to the concert and we were all blown away! I can't even begin to say how moved I was by all the talent on stagr and the beautiful music they were making. It honestly was the best concert I have ever seen!

FUN! This was an absolutely GREAT concert! The RSO combined with Jeans 'n Classics truly did a fabulous job performing the selections from Pink Floyd. My husband is a die-hard Pink Floyd fan and my son (age 25) grew up listening to them since birth. All three of us had a wonderful time! We would love to see this combination of musical groups perform a concert from another legendary rock band -- for instance Led Zeppelin, Moody Blues, Beatles, ... the list goes on. We would definitely buy tickets for any of those! WELL DONE!

Enjoyed -- must fun hearing those great tunes. I would recommend the Salem Civic Center invest in some decent plastic cups for the bottle of wine we purchased to enjoy. They were seriously lame.

Amazing experience!!! Won't miss another show ever again. A truly wonderful thing for any man, woman or child to enjoy. BRAVO!!!

My wife and I attended the Holiday "Pops' Concert" for the second year in a row. Maestro Wiley and his entourage of music makers and singers are FABULOUS!' Very entertaining, original in presentation, unique, very enjoyable. What a FABULOUS way to kick off the holiday season, that is if you haven't begun doing that since Halloween listening to recorded Christmas music on the local radio stations!

It was truly amazing!! It was a wonderful night with an amazing lady who also enjoyed it! Looking forward to next year! The conductor was energetic and great!

Great show! I really enjoyed it. The view and sound was great but I would avoid seats 1, 2 and 3 on row 11 because of the big drop-off in front of them.

Memorable performances from orchestra, conductors, and Bernadette Peters. Regret that there were not more folks to take advantage of the opportunity.

It was wonderful to see a Broadway superstar with the Roanoke Symphony. She was superb with her usual wit and great range of songs. The voice, pure Bernadette! Simply amazing

Wonderful time. Enjoyed the layout and placement of the speakers so it didn't matter which side of the stage we sat.

I thoroughly enjoyed ithe program. I went because my grandson was singing in the Roanoke College Children's choir. I had never been to a Roanoke Symphony performance. I was thoroughly entertained. I will probably go to another Symphony performance in the future.

The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra was spectacular. How great to have something so wonderful in the Roanoke Valley. Ms Virginia's solos and the choirs were amazing. The only thing keeping this show from getting a five-star rating is the cramped seating. It was much better when it was held in the auditorium at the Roanoke Civic Center.

Music and singing were terrific We loved the program

This has excellent potential, but the execution made it much less than it could have been. The conducting, the symphony and the rock instrumentalists performed very well, but the vocals really drowned out the orchestra, and that resulted in losing the depth of sound that could have been much more dynamic. I was disappointed by the song selection and would have enjoyed a more symphonic-leaning mix. I would cut the awful Eurythmics portion entirely and add in some of the missing British invaders like ELO, Dave Clark 5, Moody Blues, Cream, the Kinks, Traffic... there's no shortage of great material from which to select.

Excellent! Fabulous evening, we will attend again in 2012!

I enjoyed this concert very much. Blake was excellent!!

Blake Shelton played a great set and the few songs that the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra played were very good also. Although many people there were visibly confused by the Symphony preforming.
