Boyce Avenue

Boyce Avenue

Pop rock trio Boyce Avenue (consisting of Alejandro, Fabian and Daniel Manzano) first found fame in 2007 by posting videos of themselves performing popular covers and original songs on YouTube. These humble online offerings garnered the talented brothers from Sarasota Florida over 10 million views. Thanks to their fans online, Boyce Avenue had a ready-made fan base by the time their first major concert rolled around, and they performed a sold-out show at the Mercury Lounge in New York. Today, Boyce Avenue regularly plays to sold-out venues around the world, with fans in every continent eagerly grabbing tickets to see Boyce Avenue perform hits like “Hear Me Now,” “Every Breath,” “Find Me,” “On My Way” and more.

The venue didn't have a bad spot to view the stage. Boyce Avenue was THE BEST concert I've ever attended. They sound exactly like they do online and cd, including when acapella when they had mic issues. They were phenomenal!!

This was my first time to see Boyce Avenue, live in concert. I was supper excited to be able to see them come to a venue close enough to me where i could make it. I was blown away by Boyce, and the show they put on! My favorite moment was when Alejandro, sang "On My Way" before he sang, he stopped to talk to the audience about being alone and waiting for your true love. It was a sweet moment with the crowd. And he had me in tears before the song was over. I've never cried at a concert before this.

Bottomline, if you love their music, you will love them live. They sound just like they do on YouTube, which is no surprise since they don't edit any of their songs at all, little if any.

My goodness, that concert was one of the best things I've ever done. The two opening singers were really good and really talented. They interacted with the crowd quite a bit, and just made it fun. And then boyce avenue got up...and the crowd just exploded with excitement! Everything we had with the previous singers-the fun, the interaction, the music intensity-was amplified about a thousand times over. It was one of those "had to be there" moments. It may hav been my first rock concert, but one of my friends, who'd been to quite a few, said it was probably the best one by a long way.

Not bad. It was really hard to see the stage from the tables because of all the support posts all over the place, and the people standing against them, but that is kind of expected from certain seating. But standing and going down to the floor, I was able to get some good views, even at 5 foot 2 :) Sound...a little distorted due to heavy sound on some of the songs, softer ones sounded good. Loved the band, and have for years.

I came to house of blues from out of town hoping to hear a lot of today's great music, however, it was a lot of music I've never heard. I understand they're trying to branch out and make a name for the self but the crowd at times was lifeless and many confused faces. I was hoping to surprise my girlfriend with a band she loves listening to on Pandora but she couldn't wait to leave. Stick to covering songs, that's what people paid to see and listen to.

What a GREAT night!!! I enjoyed the concert so much in Los Angeles that I drove all the way to Tempe, Arizona for the weekend two days later to see him again! ... Boyce Avenue was so much fun to see live. Their music was a lot more pumped and louder than what you might expect, given their YouTube videos, but it was still great! As a musician, I couldn't complain AT ALL about Alejandro (the lead singer)'s voice. The opening act and second act (Kris Allen! a total surprise) were also super fun and great to listen to. Kris Allen, in particular, was fantastic. The venue was super cool, way fewer people than I expected, and it was pretty chill.

Kris allen - very entertaining and interactive with the audience. was amazing to hear and fun to watch. Curtis peoples - good at getting people into the mood of the show. Sound system - would be better if just slightly softer on the guitars. setup for each band was very swift. Crisp and awesome sound. Seating and view - it was great

I expected BA to play from their latest albums, but they totally ignored what made them famous \u2014 arranging amazing covers! That's what I went to hear. I like their original stuff, but not near as much as their covers. So many are way better than the originals. Overall, it was just OK. The exception was Kris Allen who was outstanding.!

The opener was Curtis Peoples. He was absolutely great, and if he would have headlined, I would have stayed the whole time. But the next two bands, Kris Allen & Boyce Avenue played so many covers, it was like watching American Idol or being at a Karaoke Club. Look, if you are going to play at a renowned venue that is known as a plateau for artists, you do NOT come there and play a bunch of covers!!! This band can sing and play instruments, but they only come off as genuine when they played a couple of their own acoustic songs. They really need to sing their own songs. I have never been insulted on a venue's behalf, but I guess there is a first time for everything. Cover bands at the Fillmore, jeesh, now I have seen it all.

Boyce Avenue is my FAVORITE band. This is the second time I've seen them in concert and they were even better the second time. They played (almost) all of my favorites of their originals and I was satisfied with the covers they chose (although not as good as their original tracks). My only let down was the fact that they didn't play Briane, my self-admitted favorite song of all time. That being said, it was still a fantastic concert and I can't wait until I can see them again!

Great venue and amazing artists! We didn't go to the upstairs but the bi-level theatre let everyone spread out so it wasn't too crowded. The lines for the bars weren't too long either. All the bands were amazing. And the atmosphere was nice. The after party was good. Secondhand Serenade was amazing, and you can't forget about Boyce Avenue, was just breath taking. They were all amazing live, possibly better. I do have a complaint. The doors were suppose to open at 6:30, they didn't let people in until about 6:40, when the concert was suppose to start at 7...but other than that it was great.

This group of brothers reminds me what music can really be about; fun, family and passion. I thoroughly enjoyed their renditions of popular top 40's, some even more so than their original counterparts, ad also really enjoyed the works composed by the band themselves. Despite the inclement weather outside, October 14 2011 at the Royale at Boston had a gorgeous atmosphere inside. The venue was beautiful with its soft lighting and overall comfortable feel. Boyce Avenue took the stage at quarter to eight and rocked the night away from the first moment they were on stage. They have such a mesmerizing quality about their original music and cover songs that just makes it hard to look away. There aren''t any frills or fireworks, just fantastic songs and very talented performers/songwriters. The atmosphere was electric and the crowd was receptive to the band and everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves very much. I highly recommend seeing Boyce Avenue at least once in your life, you won't regret it.

I had a blast at the show with some new friends and my husband. We were in the front row, loving every minute of the show. Alejandro sang his heart out. His brothers are always fantastic fun to watch. They are a tight unit. The set consisted of material from their album All We Have Left and a mix of cover songs. They rotated what they were playing, and surprised us all by bringing out a piano on stage to play DARE TO BELIEVE as a solo for Alejandro. The cajon battle between Alejandro and Daniel was a lot of fun to watch. The energy of the brothers comes out in waves from start to finish. Fabian played his guitar and traveled to wherever he goes with a look of total peace and tranquility on his face. It was nice to hear some of their new covers in the mix. I always love Daylight/Tonight to open the show, and Hear Me Now to end it. Alejandro is really good with the crowd, interacting with them, and they are quite vocal and passionate about the musicians performing it for them. :) I can hardly wait to go in six months from now!

My 16 year old son asked me to take him and a friend to this concert. At 50 years old, I figured this would be a young persons thing but much to my surprise, the concert was AMAZING! The guys from this band were not only incredibly talented but they were also entertaining. The band played more than the usual amount of songs and really connected with the audience. I actually knew most of the songs and truly enjoyed the entire concert including their opening acts, Chris Peeples and an amazing up and coming artist, Megan Nicole. I will be first in line for her first CD. All in all, I would gladly go to see these guys again and would recommend them to my friends. The venue was perfect for this concert as well.

I have been listening to Boyce Avenue for nearly 10 years now and have attended their concert once before in New Jersey. It was amazing then and it was 100 times better this time. At one point, they were having trouble with the speakers so they decided to go completely acoustic and let me tell you, there was not a single person upset about it. If anything, everyone was vibing even harder. One of the best concerts I ve ever been to and I would definitely go again!!

I've been to concerts that are both intimate and quite large. Boyce Avenue is at the top of my list for favorites! They took the stage and there wasn't a note out of tune and the songs they sang by other artists were amazing but I got to hear some of their music and that's what impressed me more! Newport also had a small handicap section that I wasn't aware of because I had never been there and I took a walker with a chair because I can't stand for long periods of time due to a medical condition. I didn't have to say anything and they took me right to the section and I had a seat for the concert really close to the stage! The security there was outstanding too! So happy about my experience!"

First time seeing Boyce Avenue. Like many of their fans, my wife and I discovered them through their countless AMAZING covers of so many great songs. Fast Car by Tracy Chapman, Hemorrhage by Fuel, My Sacrifice by Creed, and I could go on. But the reason for my 4 star review and not 5 star is they played half covers and half their own stuff. Now I knew they had put out their own stuff, but I feel they are mostly known for all their amazing covers, so I expected and had hoped for many more covers. I'm an avid concert goer, but it can be frustrating going to shows when you don't know many of the songs. Blame me or don't blame me, but I didn't know many of their non-cover songs, which are originals, and they played a lot of them. Next time, I'll try to be more prepared and know more of their original stuff. But other than that, the show was quite good. They played for about an hour and a half. And the sound was AMAZING. They sounded as good if not even better than multi million dollar bands I've seen. I'm a big "sound" guy, and I was blown away at how good they sounded. Absolutely worth the money to go see them, but make sure you listen to some of their original stuff, or you'll not know half their setlist.

Boyce Avenue is a good band but my enjoyment was marred due to the bright lights that kept flashing in my eyes. Going from complete dark to bright flashes of light really hurt my eyes. I have not seen that before in a concert because usually the lights are aimed at the performers. Also, I had a hard time hearing the words when BA performed yet didn't have this problem when the opening acts performed.

My whole family LOVES the talented Boyce Avenue. The show was great and the venue was perfect. The other attendees were nice people and a pleasure to meet as well. The opening acts were talented and we enjoyed them. Nick Howard is so funny and Leroy Sanchez sounds just like Michael Jackson. I wonder if he can do the moves too? There was a pretty long gap between the opening acts and when Boyce Ave went on. We used that as an opportunity to get some FANTASTIC DaVinci pizza that was ordered in hot and fresh from a local pizza shop and sold at concession. Boyce Avenue never disappoints, they sounded great. They did a great job. However there are a few things that could have made this concert even better in my opinion. We could have done without the standing flashing bar lights on stage. They often interfered with our ability to see the guys in the band. (Kind of like a camera flash and how it blinds you) I also wish there would have been more of what they are so loved for...acoustic and mellow songs done with feeling. I wonder why they feel the need to put on a loud rock concert? We just need the boys. It would have been great to see things quiet down for a spell and hear Alejandro sit down and do something on the piano. A concert is the perfect opportunity to display the FULL range of your talents. We would have welcomed a few words from Daniel and Fabian. They did not speak at all. We love you too..let us know how you are doing. I hope in their next concert they will consider changing things up and be more true to the simple look, tone and spirit of their Youtube channel. THAT is what has made them so famous. That is what their fans love so much. Give us some of that. There is no pressure to keep the adrenaline pumping. Did you see the average age of the people in the crowd? Please take note. The average age of the attendees were not rock and roll teens. Surprisingly they were people in their 30s. In the end, it was a great show and we are glad we went. WE LOVE Boyce Avenue!!

This is my 4th time seeing BA in Boston, have been a fan from the beginning. The show last year was where it started to go wrong. They just didn't have that same charm. But we chalked it up to being tired from the long tour and bought tickets again for this year. Nope, even worse this year! You can add all the fancy stage lights and matching outfits you like, doesn't make it okay! They played the same depressing crap they did last year. It was almost an identical playlist. Stale. They just switched guitars every 5 seconds to seem cool. Even the hip new staging couldn't hide the mess. I miss the bright eyed, eager, happy band from earlier days! Get some happiness going cause it seems like you are just going through the motions at this point. And if your own music is going to be that sad... with a drummer who is too loud, then stick to acoustic covers. Sad.

Staying for the encore should not be a consideration at a great show... and we did not stay. That said, I have been a YouTube fan/follower for a couple of years and generally enjoy the covers by BA. Unfortunately, this concert did not live up to our expectations. The opening acts were decent, but BA tried some of their own songs. I understand their desire, but I guess I feel that they should stick to what they are great at and not wander from the path that has enabled them to arrive at where they are today. I will still be a YouTube fan and even support them via record purchases, but I won't be rushing to purchase tickets to a live show in the near future.

Acoustics are Not the Academy of Music in Philly but It is an old Warehouse Pier and works great for hard rock sound. Boyce needs to promote their own great Tunes ./they are more than worthy being broadcast more main stream .

I understand that Boyce Avenue wants to make their own mark on music, however, I had expected more acoustic and covers.

Too much time standing up. Although they got famous due to their covers they played most their own songs. They place kicked out everybody as soon as the concert finished, even that they put songs for people dance.

Loved both Kris Allen and Boyce Avenue! Both had lots of interaction with the crowd. Great Music! I love to see enthusiastic performers! Only suggestions: Boyce Avenue had too much bass (it was sometimes hard to hear the vocals) and I wish they had seating on the floor. Since it was general admission, there were not enough seats for everyone to sit. We had to show up hours before to make sure we had a seat. Three hours is a long time to stand.

Boyce Avenue put on a great show! I am amazed every time I see them perform, they get better and better every time. They are incredibly talented musicians, humble, and they haven't changed since I first met them in '08. Kris Allen was amazing as well.

I wish they played a longer set. I thought the opening acts were great too but seemed like they played forever. Event supposedly started at 6:30 but Boyce Avenue didn't come on until around 9:30.

They have been amazing on YouTube the past couple years and I was so excited to finally see them in concert. Everything was very tasteful and they have an amazing sound and vibe to them. The crowd was crazy and everything was absolutely amazing, by far the best concert I have been to in awhile!

I have been a fan of Boyce Avenue for a LONG time, and this was the first time I have seen them live. I will forever continue to support them when they play a show near me because it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. In my opinion, hearing them live, they sound equally great or better than they do on their albums.
