As this was the last show on the tour, BNL pranked their opener BTE by having the roadies cover the stage, instruments, and equipment with about 4 dozen ladies' bras, of different sizes and colors. During BNL's set, Ed Robertson sang the live version, modified "Pinch Me" lyrics "and change into my sister's clothes" and was then pelted with the same undergarments, which BTE had collected and passed to the front row for that very purpose. The music was great, the setting was lovely, and a good time was had by all. Did not dissappoint.

They bring plenty of energy to the show and still sound great as a band, I am a long time fan who has seen them many times but I am simply not that impressed with the post Steven Page era songs which now seem to make up 75% of their shows. There are a few I like but I think BNL needs to realize that most people who are at their shows are there for the hits. There are several early songs that Ed had the lead which they never seem to play. I don't get it. Play for the fans what they want to hear or they eventually stop showing up.

Incredibly boring show. The BNL without Steven Paige is just a shell of what they used to be. They tried to be funny, they tried to banter, but it just fell flat. The music felt like it was missing a punch, and the guys seemed like they didn't care. The most telling part of the show was that 80% of the audience SAT DOWN for almost the entire show! And then they ended the night with one of the slowest, most boring songs in their catalog. Way overpriced, uninspired concert

BNL kicked off their US tour in Atlantic City last night, but audio problems kept them from sounding their best. The Tropicana is a fantastic place to see a show. Well-sloped seating with no obstructions means there's not a bad seat in the house, but for some reason the audio on lead singer Ed Robertson's mic was too hot, and it was pretty badly distorted while he sang. It's almost as if the sound crew "went to 11" with it; both my and my wife's ears were ringing after the show and our heads were hurting pretty badly. The overall balance was pretty awful as well, as backing vocals and harmonies were drowned out by the overloud audio. I was stunned at one point to plug my ears with my fingers and finally hear the piano that was struggling trying to make it through the overamped upright bass (how did they manage that?) and guitars. I love BNL and my wife's a die-hard fan. It was a great show, especially being the first tour without Steven Page, and we were glad to see the band doing "the same, but different." We just wish the sound had been better.

Despite having and loving their new cd, I wondered if BNL would still be as amazing in concert without Page...they still are!!! The guys were very smart to start off with some favorites from the past to show the audience that they are the same, wonderful BNL we have always loved even without Page's vocals. Their mixture of old favorites and new songs from their latest cd was fantastic. It was also wonderful to see Kevin and Jim finally get to do some solos and be up front with Ed! Ed's rap about his run on the AC boardwalk & the many t-shirt shops was side-splitting funny! I wish they were going to be in the Philly area so I could go see them again!

This is only the second time I've seen them play - and although Steve is missed - I think they sounded great. We bumped into Ed after the show and he was so courtesy to take pictures with us! Their sound and songs they played from the new album were great! It was a good mix of old and new! I wish I could follow them around on tour:-)

Well--- mixed feelings about this one. Probably the 17th BNL show for me...probably the weakest. Steven Page is missed for sure BUT the others tried their best to make up for it. Sometimes it worked/sometimes it didn't. The four lads worked very hard and the new stuff, along with Ed's songs, worked quite well. But the Page stuff didnt really come off that strongly. Perhaps with a bit more practice. Strange selections of some songs...concentrate on Ed's stuff...avoid the all-out Page songs (unless they are the "in demand/must hear" variety). Interest waned a bit after the first four or five songs...BUT it WAS BNL and we haven't seen them in a long time! used to go to all the shows in the area on a tour...NOW one per tour will suffice. NICE TRY LADIES !

My wife and I saw then 5 years ago in Gwinnett, GA and were static when we heard they were coming closer to home. We are big fans, but were not aware Steven Page had left the band until 2 days before the concert - we even contemplated not going, since many times the remaining members of a band just can't pull it off the same way as before - but decided to go and try to enjoy. Enjoy we did...these guys still rock, and have a great time doing it. Although it was a much different atmosphere (smaller venue, not as enthusiastic crowd) we had a great time with their new songs and jammed hard with the old favorites -we definitely recommend, and would see them again, but they are not the same as before...we miss Steven, but still love the Ladies!!!!!!

A great band at a great venue! The four piece iteration was as entertaining as if it had been the original five. Hell has frozen over, the New Orleans Saints ended their winning streak and BNL ended their 2009 tour on the same night. It was great to see the band mates swapping instruments and positions on stage. Hard Rock Live is a first class facility. I plan on seeing BNL again next year and catching more shows at HRL in Biloxi.

the show was teriffic, sound awesome. my only complaint, and it is consistent with all "casino" shows is that the bands play for an hour fifteen at most. they come back with a short encore. and then it is over. we paid eighty per person for the show. this is too high a price for such a short show. we won't be going to casinos for music anymore. it's a shame that the entertainers play these venues. we are very "spoiled" because we are regulars at N.O. jazz fest. we get soooo much more for our money at the fest.

made the drive across the desert to see BNL at Primm. the sound was GREAT in the arena. ed worked 3 different mics spread across the stage. never once thought "this is a steve song". it all just worked. they are "BNL" songs. this was my 38th show (i think). concert life slows when you get married and have a little baby. ed did a quick meet-n... Read More-greet after the show. (TY ED!) they sang a good variety with heavy STUNT songs. i was especially happy with "Life, in a Nutshell." wore my Rock Spectacle T-Shirt (an oldie!) the show reminded me of earlier BNL shows. the jazzy "Blame It On Me" was a major highlight/moment. jim was playing all over the stage too. energy was high and the overall feeling was very comfortable. nice acoustic "For You". amazing harmonies. when kevin broke out the accordian - i was hoping for "Straw Hat" ... maybe next show. They played $1000000 - hadnt heard that live for a long time. No Brian Wilson or What a Good Boy ... I think I might have missed Steve though on WAGB. so its ok. here's what they did sing (not in order though): Blame It On Me; If I Had a $1,000,000; Life, in a Nutshell; Old Apartment; One Week; Its All Been Done; Leave, Alcohol; Who Needs Sleep; Never is Enough; Too Little Too Late; Pinch Me; Go Home; Falling For the First Time; Maybe Katie; For You; Testing 1, 2, 3; Get In Line, and a couple new songs due out in march. (wow - no songs from BLAM album, hmmm.) Must be hard to a choose a set list from such a huge catalog of songs. overall: great show. (awesome seats (dead center - 7 rows back, great lighting & crystal clear sound, nice mix of old and new songs, funny improv stuff. like the old days where you can meet them after the show too. great to reconnect with the fans.) other highlights: winning at three card poker, riding the casino's "suspect maintenance" rides, and being in the middle of NOWHERE in the desert. (primm is NOT vegas.) my profile pic is the cell phone pic of me and ed. cant wait for next album and its tour. see you then! - heather

Great show!!! The band was having a great time and made it fun for the audience. My 11th BNL concert and there is something different every time. I was a little worried about how they would sound without Steven Page. There was a little something missing (mostly because I really like the songs Steven sang). The band did a great job of covering for his absence and all 4 members contributed on the vocals and harmonies. I can't wait for the new record in March 2010. Definitely a concert worth seeing. My first time at the Star of the Desert Ampitheater in Primm. Nice medium sized venue with decent acoustics. Great view from any seat.

For anyone who was scared about what the four remaining members of the Barenaked Ladies would sound like after parting ways with co-lead singer Stephen Page, have no fear!! The same fun and good time is still present with the new stream-lined band. Kevin Hearn was fabulous when he picked up the guitar. If you liked the old band, you will be just as happy with the new Fantastic Four!

Wow! Imagine any one of your favorite bands continuing to perform without it's lead singer and the sound that made them unique. Anyone remember Van Halen? Although, the remaining band mates are still pressing on with their talent and humor, it was just not the same without front man Steven Page. How is that solo career going Steve?

A lot of people around us coming out of the show complained about their setlist "Well, they played the songs they wanted to play, not the songs we wanted to hear." In reality though, they only missed two of their wider known songs. Was I disappointed not to hear It's All Been Done? Sure. But the concert was so much fun anyway! These guys are still hilarious and talented and provided an atmosphere of stress-free joy for an hour and forty-five minutes, and what else could you ask for out of a concert? A few songs in, I turned to the people I was with and said "I am SO GLAD we bought these tickets!"

I had heard great things about BNL s shows in the past, so I was expecting a good show. It wasn t terrible, but it wasn t good. They have likable personalities and parts of the show were good such as Another One Bites The Dust Queen cover, which was good. Their familiar songs were ok, but I felt they could have done a better job combining them. Maybe the people who sat closer had a better time, but for those of us who sat in the grass it was kind of boring. Plus the sound was just not loud enough.

I have never been disappointed watching the Barenaked Ladies live, and this was no exception. The talent they are able to gather for these Last Summer on Earth tours is astounding. I've heard Brian Wilson live every year since 2011, them singing it with KT Tunstall was hands down the best. You can argue which of these tours have been the best, but there is no arguing that these shows are the greatest.

This wasn t the original venue. It was nice place. All of the staff were fantastic. I paid a lot for my front row ticket, but I had an obstructive view. When I chose the seat for the other venue, the view was clear. I had to keep moving my head to see what was going on, not fun. I with Better Than Ezra played longer. We have seen BNL MANY times over the years and absolutely are huge fans! Their variety of opening bands over the years have always added so much to the show and the gratefulness that is evident makes it such a joy to support all they have done. They are great entertainers, so much fun, love their songs and yes despite missing a bit of the old sound truly enjoy their energy! KT Tunstall and Better Than Ezra, both we had heard of but didn't know too much about were fantastic additions. Despite the 3 hour commute in LA traffic, which took less than half that at the end of the night, it is always a treat to watch shows at The Greek. Thanks guys for another GREAT show! BNL is always a great show. They guys have so much fun, interact with the crowd, and have a great set list. This time we took our kids to their first concert. My son (8) and daughter (6) decided to make signs, and we were lucky enough that the band was able to read them...and THEN took the time to speak/interact with our kids. They ended up playing a special song (Raisins), and even tossed them a Monkey (after playing "If I had a Mil $1s"), and a Drum stick at the end of the show. How can you top that?? Not sure we will..... but the guys are awesome, and we will see them anytime and every time they are back.

Our group was definitely all out 80's so we went to see OMD and Howard Jones.. OMD was probably better than I remember them when I was a kid. They put it all out there, even in the heat they were record quality. When OMD finished we decided to stick around to hear "1 Week" from BNL's.. We were amazed at how good their showmanship was.. We ended up staying the whole set just for the fact that they were so much fun! The only thing that could have made it better was if the Greek coulda turned up the A/C!! ;) Always a fantastic venue, especially in the summer evenings!

Disappointed in the concert. Crowd not engaged because show wasn't engaging enough. Music was disappointing as well.

Great opening acts! Great show! It's hard to be unbiased here because Barenaked Ladies has been my favorite band for years. But this show was high energy and very entertaining. I'm so glad they were able to play to a sold-out show.

BNL is consistently fun to see live! They have a great time interacting with the crowd, will make up songs on the spot and even sang a song about playing a show across the from Alligator Farm (located across the street from the venue). For any diehard fans, the songs are still awesome even without Steven in the band. This was my second time getting to see them live and I will absolutely go see them again!

I've seen BNL many times. No two times are ever the same. They may play some of the same songs, but they have classics that their fans want to hear. However, as I said, no two shows are ever the same. They brought out Colin Hay to do Pinch Me and Who Can It Be Now...two of the high points. Their encore was stellar. Who knew Ed could play the drums and Tyler had a legit rock and roll voice? Tyler definitely enjoyed being the front man and it was cool to see. That's what makes a BNL show an unforgettable experience...they seem to really ENJOY what they're doing and the audience can sense it. Great show...the best I've ever seen from them.

What can I say - Colin Hay, what a joy to listen to and what a humble and funny guy. Violent Femmes - Brian Ritchie is amazing, a beast on the big acoustic bass - these guys were a blast and sounded great, first time seeing them live and won't be the last - and of course we love us some BNL.

You will not be disappointed! I am 50 years old, and darn, I really missed some great BNL concerts based on this one. I was fortunate enough to be online the morning these tickets went on sale and, my brother is always really good to my husband and me, so I thought it was time to re-pay him a little for his generosity. I was fortunate enough to score two tickets, dead center, 6th row. So, my brother is a Violent Femmes fan, and, don't get me wrong, I love the Femmes, but have always wanted to see BNL. What a combination! BNL wound there way through and around all the oldies that the audience wants and loves, but also introduced us to a few tracks from the newest album, "Silverball." Their off the cuff antics that I've heard they do included a jingle based on eating at Legal Seafood "Haliburpin" and making fun of Colin Hay's (lead singer of Men At Work who is touring with them) on his 62nd birthday.

BNL were AMAZING AS ALWAYS!!!!! Best part of the show was when they played new song, "Duct Tape Heart" (My daughter went wild!) and Colin Hay joining the band to play "Who Can It Be Now?" and "Pinch Me"!!!! COLIN HAY WAS INCREDIBLE!!!! IF YOU DON'T KNOW HIM FROM MEN AT WORK ALREADY, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO EXPLORE IS SOLO STUFF!!!! JUST AMAZING SONGS!!!! ALSO MY DAUGHTER AND I GOT TO MEET HIM AND GET A CD SIGNED! Violent Femmes I was a casual fan of but I have to say seeing them live is the only way to truly get just how AMAZING AND TALENTED AND ENTERTAINING this band really is!!!

Seriously?! Where can you go wrong with this tour?! Colin Hay opens, Violent Femmes follows and Barenaked Ladies close down the place! Without a doubt an incredible concert. A Barenaked Ladies member joins Violent Femmes on stage for Gone Daddy Gone. Colin Hay comes out, and Violent Femmes Sax man joins Barenaked Ladies as they belt out Men At Works Who Can It Be Now. Barenaked Ladies did Toe to Toe for 1st time live! Violent Femmes rocked the place! And Barenaked Ladies delivered their great humor and great music! Definitely a concert worth the dollars!

Colin Hay is beyond talented, I loved hearing the classic Men at Work songs as well as his current stuff. The acoustic version of Overkill has been on my iPod for awhile now, I'm so glad I got to hear it live. The Violent Femmes are one of my all time favorites and their performance was out of this world!! They played the perfect set of songs... A variety of instruments that you don't normally see I.e. Slide whistle and contrabass sax and xylophone. The Horns of Dilemma were amazing!! Barenaked Ladies were hilarious, great lighting and an all around great show.

After 25 years, the boys of BNL have been through a lot. But put that all aside, theyalways put on a fast paced, crowd engaging show, with improvisational that make the audience feel like they are close to the band. From the hits to the new songs, and especially the improvised songs about the city and their everyday observations, as well as spoofing some of today's top pop hits, and not to mention the cover songs Tyler sang in the encore, the crowd was buzzing, dancing in thier seats, and singing along to all the songs I've had the pleasure of seeming the BNL 6 times over the last 25 years, and I am entertained to the max each time. See you next tour!

Gang, BNL are a great entertainment band they really pull no stops to bring in the local flair to the show. They always make up a song about something fun about the city they are playing in. That's what I like the best. Must see! G.

This was my 24th BNL show and it was possibly the best yet. Who needs Steven? The guys were fantastic - high energy the whole show. Ed does a great job singing lead about 90% of the show. They were entertaining. I brought a friend who had never seen them before and she thought it was the best concert she had ever been too.

All I can say is fun, fun, fun! This was probably our 8th time to go see BNL so we sprang for front row tickets & had an absolute blast. This band is funny, eclectic, delightful, varied & did I say funny? BNL fans know what a great time this band is live; you should too!

this was my first show at the Peabody Opera House. It was my twelfth or thirteenth BNL show. The POH is beautiful and a great venue. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The concessions are outrageously priced. I thought I was at a Rams game! At $8.25 for a beer and $5.00 for bottled water, my refreshments for the evening were limited to ONE! There's not a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are clean and solid. Of course the band totally rocked the room. While I miss the vocals of the former singer, BNL has adapted most of their hits for the four-man format. There are a few numbers that were weaker and others that probably won't be played live ever again. But with twenty-five years of material to choose from, the show will not lack for great songs. Ed Robertson has stepped up as lead singer very well. Kevin Hearn and Ed Creegan fill in nicely with harmonies. Even Tyler Stewart took the lead on a couple of songs. He knows he doesn't have the best voice but that doesn't slow his enthusiasm. And the crowd loves him for it. BNL has had many musical successes in their career. There was the purely Canadian chapter. Then they were "discovered" by a Boston radio station and stared their U.S. career. After Kevin re-joined the band after his illness, the band really hit it big. Now they have re-emerged as a powerful quartet. Usually a band will start to fade after a quarter century in the business. Hell, most bands don't get to record a third album. This group keeps cranking out the hits and keeps their musical soul intact.
