Alison Krauss was amazing at the Greek Theatre. She sang non stop from the time she took the stage until the forced stop at 10pm. She had a perfect blend of her new music coupled with the old favorites. Her voice was impeccable with beautiful harmonies provided by her band. I wish it could have lasted longer.

I went to see Alison and was not familiar with David Gray. He opened to a misty, light rain. He has a nice voice and is very talented. Since there is a curfew at the Greek Theater, I would have preferred he had played a bit shorter set so that Alison could have played longer. She sang songs from many albums, including Raising Sand with Robert Plant. She was awesome, as always.

I have been a loyal listener of David Gray's music since 1999 and have longed to be able to see one of his shows in person for many, many years. The Peabody Opera House was a fantastic venue for my first opportunity to see David Gray live! He absolutely delivered on everything that I hoped it would be and more. He is an incredibly talented musician, who pours his heart and soul into each and every one of his songs as evidence by the lyrics! Truly an unforgettable evening and I will be looking forward to the next opportunity to see David Gray live again!

I went to see Alison Krauss who was great but David Gray was very good too. It was a very windy night and chillier than usual so with the tent open on both sides the ocean breeze was a bit too much. Would have been nice if they had side flaps to keep the wind out.

We were there to see Allison, not the dude who SCREECHED and shimmied like he was spastic. We were SOOOO disappointed that she was SO late getting on. I had looked forward to this for a month. I LOVE Allison and I LOVE her new c.d. so to miss her performance was heartbreaking. We just couldn't stand David Gray. As far as the venue..... handicapped??? NOT To get to our seats we were expected to climb a "mountain" of stairs. My husband has back/hip problems and I have a torn meniscus. IF you have ANY kind of handicap, do NOT go to this venue. It is set up for "YOUNG" people, not adults. We will NEVER go there again. I only hope that someday I will get to see Ms. Krauss perform.

Alison Krauss was amazing. The only problem was she didn't play long enough. I bought the tickets because she was the headliner and David gray played longer than her. I felt kind of ripped off because she should've played at least as long.

Alison Krauss is one of my all-time favorite singers, and she was by far the highlight of the evening. I say that because, contrary to my expectations, she was only one small part of an otherwise frustrating evening. The start-time was listed as 7pm, and there were 2 acts listed. I figured we'd hear a bit from one, a bit from the other, then a joint set. Not my ideal way to see her, but at least we'd have an evening together. But no... David Gray -- whose last name describes exactly how his music makes me feel -- started late, then played for a solid hour and a half, which I now look at as stolen time that I'll never get back. Then, finally, at 8:45 he crows out "Babylon" and I start to get excited... But wait! First there was a 20-minute intermission -- lights up, people wandering around, stage struck... AK finally came on at 9:05 -- yes, that's right -- and played til 10:20... Meaning the top-billed act played for 15 minutes less than the opening act. No joint set, not even as much as an acknowledgement of one another... I can't for the life of me understand why these 2 were touring together. And for what it's worth, they don't seem to technically be touring together, but rather "in close succession," because it was actually 2 concerts, where the first one was so insanely boring as to drive one mad and get one just pissed off enough to not fully enjoy the brilliance that is AK. Let me give her some advice: drop the ball and chain, don't make us wait 2+ hours, play a full set, and shine like you always have. Because Gray just bleeds onto you, stifles your light, and drags the rest of us down with him...

Alison Krauss is such a great talent and a legend. David Gray's music was boring and pretentious. A shame we had to sit through Gray for an hour and 15 minutes before Alison came on to save the night.

I came for Alison Krauss whom I already knew was the grand dame of modern bluegrass and Americana, and was unexpectedly delighted by David Gray's wonderful performance. I imagine he should be more well known than he is. What bowled me over about Ms. Krauss was how incredibly faithful to the recorded versions every song was. Also, how incredibly still she remains while blowing the roof off the joint, singing from a whisper to a roar, perfectly, effortlessly! A rare treat indeed.

I don't know what the producer of this show was thinking but the genres of these two are on opposite sides of the earth. I figure when I go to see the top Bluegrass performer that the warmup band would be some kind of bluegrass or folk music...ya know, to warm up to the bluegrass show, but Grey was way different, and I did not like his style at all, and he played for over an hour while AK did a one hour show that went well into the night. I had to get to NJ so I was only able to catch the 12:00 train, getting home at 1:45. The whole night was odd, David Grey had a ton of fans, then when he was done many left for AK to perform in a building 30% empty. They should have said this was a twin bill, and I would have not gone knowing how late it was going. AK's set was great, no issue there, and of course RCMH is always awesome.

We THOUGHT that we would be hearing the lovely Allison Krause dueting with David Gray. But, no. We were subjected to an hour of David Gray singing solo what seemed to be the same damn song over and over. The boredom was relentless. When we left our seats and asked when Allison was coming on we were told it would not be for another hour...in other words, two hours after the show started. Couldn't even think of taking another hour of the joylessness of watching someone who was so in love with himself and went home early. The one star rating does not reflect on the beautiful Hershey Theatre itself. Seats were great. Show was not. At least the part of it that we were able to endure.

My wife and I were at this concert held at the Hershey Theatre, Hershey, Pa. The venue is an awesome older theatre. Though it holds almost 2000 people there is not a bad seat in the house. Alison Krauss is so magnificent it is beyond my ability describe the perfection of her voice. I can only say that in my opinion she must be an angel on loan from heaven. She sang for almost two hours, though it seemed a much shorter duration to me. She, Ron Block and Sidney Cox graciously performed an encore that the audience thoroughly appreciated. The musicians accompanying Alison are all world class. Sidney & Suzanne Cox sang back up and are accomplished artists in their own right. I was not familiar with David Gray or his music prior to the concert. He is quite talented and with great energy put on a fine performance. I also enjoyed his music and would attend future concerts in which he participates.

David opened the show and blew us away with his music. It took nearly an hour in between for Alison to get set up and it was absolutely not worth the wait. We should have just watched paint dry after the show David put on. Bad combination of performers as she has nothing on him! But, I recommend seeing him and then leaving. He alone is worth it!!

Had to sit through David Gray--not that he was bad, just never heard of him and didn't know any of the music. It was worth the wait, though. Alison krauss once again put on a fantastic show. Her voice is stunning and her band is like a family. They entertain and play so well together. I was excited to see david gray for the first time, but we actually found his portion of the show kind of snoozy and boring. Just him and his piano the first few songs and all the songs just started to run on and we're uninteresting. My husband and I fell asleep and left early. Probably not the best pairing either because seemed like the crowd was divided.

Allison Krauss was fabulous. I'd absolutely see her again. David Gray was good, but we had to leave after about 5 songs. He had a light show going on that was painful - literally. The lights were aimed at the audience, and it went on for at least 10 minutes. The lights were so bright that if you were to look at the crowd everyone had their eyes shielded or down - no one could look at the stage. When we left, there were dozens of others doing so for the same reason. I heard people say they felt like they were prisoners escaping from the prison yard and that the guards were taking aim!!! Not a good feeling immediately after the tragedy in Las Vegas. Lose that part of the show, please.

David Gray played for an hour and a half. Too many fans came in late or in the wrong seats. Also , the general public had way too many cell phones recording and ruining the general experience. They should show more consideration for the performer and the other fans who paid good money to see the show and not the lights and or the screen of their phones. Alison Krauss did play perfect, I would like to have heard more than an hour of her and her band. I bought these tickets over three months ago and expected to hear more. Warm up band played longer than she did. That's my two cents.

Everyone should see her at least once in their lifetime. The venue was gorgeous, the Peabody Opera House downtown. Alison's voice is a beautiful as I imagine the heavens to be! Her band sounded awesome, the talent of the musicians is unmatched. The set was beautiful and and hour and a half concert felt like a minute and a half. Her music has been the soundtrack of my life, at different times and places so it brought back so many memories. She didn't talk much, but honestly we were not there to hear her speak so that was ok. I also feel like for as much as she has accomplished in her lifetime, she is still a pretty well kept secret and I felt lucky to have attended another of her concerts.

Event was billed as "David Gray with special guest Allison Kraus" then David Gray opens and Allison Kraus comes out to close. While she has a beautiful voice, her music was boring and put us to sleep. Gray should have closed as he was billed as the headliner. Terrible combo; Gray's mus C is upbeat and modern, Kraus' was twangy and sleepy. If you're a fan of Gray, don't waste your dollars.

The pairing of David Gray and Alison Krauss as co-headliners on a tour was simply strange. Their music comes from and goes out to very different worlds. Both are talented, to be sure, but Gray's talent offers a much narrower range of expression -- no doubt pleasing to the lesser half of the audience remaining for his 2nd half of the evening -- that was difficult to appreciate for a first time listener. The musical phrases and lyrics were simple and repetitive. He would be great at a large contemporary Christian church that thrives on so-called "praise" songs. I kept waiting for a creative breakthrough, but none came. My wife and I left early. Krauss, on the other hand, demonstrated her prodigiously wide range of musical styles and vocal abilities; and she played her fiddle very well, mostly as a supportive instrument, but on one terrific solo, too. She also showed off her collaborative abilities with a talented group of vocalists and instrumentalists that helped her cover everything from her earliest Blue Grass hits to later Blue Pop to latest Contemporary Country Pop and then back to Old Time Blue Grass Gospel. The harmonizing was simply spectacular! Krauss's 90+ minute set was well worth the price of admission and four hour round-trip travel to see her.

I don't wish to yuck your yum, but what did I experience? Not one original lyric or riff delivered by these highly capable musicians. Not one lump in my throat nor tear welled up in my eye. Not a single lusty response of recognition from the gathered faithful at the opening notes of a favorite song. Halfway through the show I checked my pulse to make sure I hadn't joined Johnny and Merle in the Ultimate Grand Ole Oprey. Unforgettable was her tribute to Tom Petty who made his final curtain call days earlier- there was none, like my feelings for this particular performance.

We attended this event to see Alison Krauss perform. David Gray was new to us and we looked forward to see him as well. Fortunately for us, Alison performed first, which immediately captured our interest. She was fantastic, with her great voice and perfect execution, and her supporting musicians were also right on track. The Cox's, Barry Bales and Ron Block were old friends and the others were truly professional. Song after song, with no "white space" between, and then a couple of encores. Their performance surpassed our expectations. David Gray was excellent, although not right down our alley. We enjoyed having a professional look at a different genre of music. All-in-all a perfect evening for us!

Fox Theatre is a beautiful place to see a show; should have been a wonderful backdrop for these two artist. Although I didn't really know much about Alison Krauss, her voice was really beautiful to listen to. Of course, her upbeat songs got the audience more involved...a little bluegrass is always fun. This is the third time seeing David Gray. I enjoy when an artist changes up a song during a live show, but felt like it was hard to excited when his few upbeat tunes were changed to unplugged versions. It seemed like the audience had a hard time really getting into it. Lastly, I have never been to a concert where immediately after performer left the stage...the lights came on. The crowd was still on it's feet, cheering for more when a sound guy came out to basically wave us off. Very disappointed indeed.

I went into the Ryman with very high expectations, but they were immediately exceeded! David Gray's display of compositional talent is almost mind boggling. He plays every single instrument with perfection all the while looping his own melodic rhythms into instantly recognizable hits. His band is equally talented, gifting the audience with multiple instrument abilities and perfect timing. Truly outstanding Alison Krause has the ethereal voice of an angel. She hits every note every time. Her set included the long time favorites from Oh Brother Where Art Tho, the haunting Sister Rossetta and as well as new tracks from Windy City. Members of the Cox family supported her with bg vocals and members of her longtime band Union Station accompanied her on every piece. My only wish to make the experience more memorable was for Ryman's security to allow more photography. This was the night after the Las Vegas incident, so naturally security was beefed up and tight, but more non-flash pics would have been appreciated.

Either I am stupid, or the concert promos were unclear, but we arrived fifteen minutes late after a two and half hour commute for a 60 mile trip, only to hear David Gray opening the evening! The main reason we came, and we hear what we presumed to be the headliner already on stage. Needless to say, that put quite a damper on the evening. My wife and I finally get a night away and we only hear 75% of the set that I paid a lot of money for. I wish the promos would have made it clear who opened. Bummer. David Gray is awesome, and the venue was a great place for him to perform.

Alison Krauss overpowered the rain and the mist in a brilliant performance Thursday at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley. For an old music fan who has heard some great ones live(Joplin,Ronstadt, Anne Wilson, Emmy Lou)it was exhilarating to hear the timbre, the power, and the clarity of this voice which reaches notes so high they must be from heaven. Her wide variety of albums and genres made for a pleasant blend of the old and the new. Her backup band was spot on and the Cox Family made for great harmony. The only negative was the fact the concert was cut short by the 10 pm cutoff for amplified music. But Alison was a gamer and did her last song a'capella with no mikes from the front of the stage. I only wish it could have gone on longer. David Gray was an excellent opening act. He also has a great voice but has a ways to go to reach the pure brilliance of the star of the show, Alison Krauss. May the almighty allow this star to continue to perform for many more years. Hopefully, I will see her again.

I went to see Alison Krauss, but she played less time than her opener David Gray (who was excellent). The curfew should have been communicated to both bands. Totally lame for her to end her set by deleting 3-4 songs because she ran out of time? It seemed to be communicated to her 5 minutes before they turned off the microphones!

Very disappointed that David Gray was allowed to play so long that Alison Krauss had to cut her set short due to the 10pm weekday curfew. She was amazing and had to speed through her set without talking much to get all her songs in - and they had to cut songs they planned to do. We went for Alison while friends love David Gray, I didn t really get him.

I was appalled that Berkeley Greek Theater cut her off after only one hour. Very disappointing I could have listened to her for at least another hour and a half

As usual, the Greek is a great setting for an evening under the stars and great music. Both sets were well done. Even the traffic in and out was smooth. Nice evening all around!

First time to Outlaw Field. We didn't know the chair regulations until the weekend before the Sunday concert. Did not have and could not find any small chairs to buy. The ground was uncomfortable even with blankets and pillows. Too boot, several people had regular size chairs including the couple who sat in front of us, so we had to move. The concert started at 7pm but Allison Krause did not come on stage until after 9pm. Due to not being prepared for the conditions we left before 10pm. Disappointed but would give it another try. FYI: the Shakespeare Festival rents chairs.

The concert was so awesome! The only thing I had to complain about is that it was middle of October and all the botanical gardens had to drink was beer and cold drinks and an ice cream stand! There wasn't any hot drinks at all. I think they should have had a coffee stand at least because it was so freezing cold! And I should have have more blankets. But as for the concert I would go again! They have such good music! I could have watched all night!

It was abit chilly for the last evening of concerts at Outlaw field but the sky was beautiful as always, and the music filled the air. David Gray played all his bests and more. Alison Krause plays the violin/fiddle amazing and she brought great friends. Totally great evening

Alison Krauss was incredible! She sang longer than I expected, which was great. She did a awesome job mixing the music to hit each fan base. Some new stuff, old stuff, a couple off the Rising Sand CD, one or two from the soundtrack of O brother, where art thou and several Gospel songs. Very well rounded. David gray was also great. My only issue was the venue. It was an outside concert in October! Boise is cold this time of year! However, I can handle the cold, it was the lack of lights near the porti potties that really pissed my off! You couldn't see to even walk to them but worse was once you got inside it was pitch black! Terrible!

David Gray and Alison Krausse were both incredible!! The sound was absolutely amazing! It was such a nice surprise to see the Cox family with Alison, their harmonies are like angels singing. I was disappointed that there was no coffee available though, on an Idaho evening in the fall, it would've been nice to help keep warm.

I had hoped to see Alison for a number of years, though I never really expected the opportunity to arise, so when it did, I jumped. I'm thankful I did, and would go see her again in a heartbeat. Very laid back concert. Excellent sound quality. David Gray was very good as well, but Alison was the real reason for going.

It was like a two for one concert. Both were awesome performances for two completely different genres.

I purchased these tickets for my wife and I because we both are huge Alison fans and we were not disappointed by her performance. She was perfect!!! However, for the life of me I don t understand why she would tour with David Gray. It s partly my fault for not researching his music before I bought the tickets. His type of music is totally opposite of Alison s and we didn t care for him at all. If those of you are offended by my review I apologize but I ve never attended a concert in my life where the two performers were singing different types of music. We took another couple with us and I was embarrassed for half of the show. Fortunately Alison saved the evening with her lovely singing with the Cox family.

Allyson kept us mesmerized with her powerful voice. She mixed up the songs for the set masterfully. David Gray did a fabulous job and the special effects capped off our night. Great value for our entertainment dollar.

Alison was at her best, this was my first live event with her and my wife and I were amazed by her performance. We both hated David Gray as this is NOT our kind of music. It seemed the audience was divided as well as some of David's fans left before Alison and many Alison fans left to the lobby during David's performance. They should never been on the same bill. If we had known about David's performance we would have come in later and stayed at the Honky Tonk we were at prior to the show where there was great country music. Again, we were glad we did not miss Alison as she was great!!!!
