The musical deserved every Tony it got. This company of actors/singers did it proud too. Many times you have to improvise to make things right.

Loved the show. As a fan of South Park guys and a second generation (non-practicing) mormon. I didn't find it harsh toward the religion and more of a fun dirty humorous generalization of mormon missionaries. Any mormon outside of Utah would get some of the jokes and satire. And it was a rip roaring show that I enjoyed. If you like South Park's movie bigger Longer and uncut. You will like this play.

I knew this was created by the makers of South Park so I was expecting profanity etc. I was still taken aback by the F U god song. Great performances but I wouldn't have gone knowing what I know now.

You simply won't believe how much this show will change your life! When the South Park guys take aim at something, you know the results will be hilarious, inappropriate and, in this case, blasphemous. The music is very catchy. If you have a problem with salty language or people making fun of religion, you should probably find another show. For everybody else, however, there is much fun to be had at The Book of Mormon.

So you have naive missionaries sharing their blind faith, the harsh realities of Africa- Aids, femaie circumcision, starvation, a lethal killer military leader, mixed with horrific guilt from issues that are kept behind closed doors, a guy who embellishes stories with things relavent pop culture, and a tribe/family with a smokin hot daughter looking for a better life thru faith and trust. Parker and Stone combine innocent sweetness and harsh reality. Matter-of-fact day-to-day survival give the charicters dignity. Everyone in the theater, on stage and in the audience, transforms. The music, dance and huge chunks of dialogue surface in conversations like a giant brain worm- I wish I could see it again with everyone I know. In the mean time everyone I know gets to hear the soundtrack, hear the funny bits second hand and hope they get to see it soon

This is a 2 1/2 hour play but so engaging that the time flies by. It's so funny throughout the play in the dialogue and the songs that you have to really pay attention. The venue is absolutely AWFUL!!! I don't know why BIC choose such a small venue in Bank of America theater instead of the Cadillac Palace. I had seats in dress circle and could only see half of the stage at a time as the man in front of me was so tall I couldn't see over him. That was the only disappointment. It's a MUST SEE play.

We went in wanting to laugh, and we did. Having said that, most of the charchters in the play live in a very unfunny place in our world, and at times I was startled by what was said or done. Ultimately, it made me laugh, and it made me think (the social-political 'message' is subliminal, like a slap in the face is subliminal). My wife and I both enjoyed ourselves, and we will probably see it again. One other thing, the language is VERY crude, but then knowing the writters, you probably already knew that.

The Book of Mormon exceeded all of my expectations. I have been a fan of the show since it premiered on Broadway, but this was the first time I go to see it live. I was expecting to laugh but I laughed THE WHOLE TIME. The entire show is hilarious, but at the same time has some sentimental moments as well as a great message at the end. The casting was SPOT ON. Ben Platt and Nic Rouleau played the leading roles of Elder Cunningham and Elder Price and had the most amazing chemistry. Both the leads and the supporting characters are amazing singers, actors, and dancers. I even got the chance to meet Platt, and Rouleau after the show and both were so nice and excited to meet their fans. GO SEE THIS SHOW.

This was our second time seeing this show in the same theater, about two years apart. Our first was an obstructed view in the back of the main floor, this was Row A of the Mezzanine. SPRING FOR THE GOOD SEATS!! Lol, it really made the show tremendously better. The actors were amazing, and the show left me smiling from ear-to-ear. The only disappointment was the actor in the role of Arnold, his acting was good, but he had a higher-pitched whiny voice and didn't have a good singing voice. The first time we saw it he was much better.

I am a Broadway musical enthusiast over the past 30 years. The Book of Mormon was the crudest, offensive, irreverent, mocking, gross and hateful musical I have ever seen. The use of the "F" word was so vulgar and tacky. But the slam on the beautiful people of Africa, degrading of women, mocking of the beauty of sex, disregard for religious freedom, mockery of Jesus, and bullying of minorities was awful. I was embarrassed for the cast and crew that has to repeatedly indulge in this immoral and offensive musical. We can do better as musician, producers and actors.

As a 30-something male with some familiarity with Mormonism and South Park, I found a portion of this musical to be funny, but the majority of it made me uncomfortable. Actors were talented and some observations were spot on about Mormons and their sometimes-silly beliefs. A few songs were unnecessary in their hatred toward God (not just Mormonism). Wouldn't go again if the tix were free. Not recommending to anybody, not worth it.

We thoroughly enjoyed this musical! The music was great, performed by an amazing cast. Very likable characters that provided lots of humor and laughs! (Absolutely adored the actor who played Elder Cunningham!) The Book of Mormon was lighthearted fun about the absurdity of some Mormon beliefs & how they originated, yet the story was still encouraging about having faith in God, more so than in the religious doctrine. Some people may be offended by some of the language and actions, but again, it is meant to show absurdity. Would love to see it again simply due to the talented cast and just for all the laughs. Left the show feeling happy...not stressed or offended at all.

I love South Park and I was prepared for crude and insensitive jokes designed to get a laugh, but I thought the language and sexual innuendo was over the top and unnecessary. There were a few scenes where I actually felt uncomfortable - and based on audience reaction, it sounded like others were uncomfortable as well. I do think $140 face value per ticket was way over priced for this show.

Absolutely loved Book of Mormon! It was hilarious and all of the actors were just fantastic. Definitely not a show for someone who can't handle the f bomb a bunch of times or quite a few lewd sexual jokes. I noticed a family near us with a child about 12. Pretty sure they didn't know how raunchy the show was because they reached over and covered his ears several times and looked pretty horrified by the dialogue. Not a show for people under 18! But an incredibly well done show for grown ups!

The Book of Mormon was hilarious. I found myself busting out laughing at the writers abilities to portray the culture of religion and history in such a comedic way. I think I laughed a little harder because I've been to "Salta Laka City" and have seen the beautiful location and spoken with some of the missionaries there. In short, this play is not for those who are unable to poke fun at themselves. Admittedly there were times, I was like "ouch" but laughed anyway. The singing was just beautiful, and it was great to see such a multicultural camaraderie in cast and audience attendance. Our seats were great. Thanks!! You all did a wonderful job.

This is an amazing (and very vulgar, but that should be expected) musical. Not only is it very humorous, but the songs are all written and performed extremely well. I went with my fine arts department as a professional development activity. We all enjoyed the music, the singing, the dancing, the sets and the costumes. It was a bonus that two of our students worked there. The theater is well run and other than a crazy long line for drinks it was flawless. The only issue is the seats are small and hard. It's a tough couple of hours if you have restless leg syndrome or seated behind someone with a big head.

Once I found out that Trey Parker was involved in this production, it all made sense. Hilarious, irreverent, vulgar, and full of heart. Faith, after all, is about an idea not about rote rules and regulations (i.e. the Book of Mormon). The path to this ultimate message is so damn funny with a hundred cringe-worthy lines and musical numbers. If you are sensitive to profanity, racism, sexual content, or general mockery of modern religion, this show is not for you. No one is spared in this journey, but you'll laugh all the way to enlightenment.

Never did I see the entire stage. Was really pissed. Family went at 550.00 plus a 200.00 dinner, then 25.00 in parking. We talked to the Mgr and they offered us scattered seats we so no and we all left. I've been there before and I could see the stage, these seats we awful. Hilarious. Great music, voices, sets designs, costumes, etc. Im totally not really into musicals but I do like comedy. I would totally recommend this. I was in the balcony middle right in the last row. It was really high up, but I would book these same seats again if it saves me 50% off the tickets in other sections. I even had "obstructed view" seating, which was a poll, but I could easily avoid it by leaning to one side only for a few parts of the production.

This was the first show I have ever seen that was completely original! It blew me away. This show is not for those with thin skin- lots of swearing and the point is to question religion. Not great for small children. The irreverence of South Park carries through, but with song and dance. This show is a coming of age story combined with a crisis of Faith and a throwing away expectations story all in one. 2 19yr old Mormon Missionaries whom have never been out of the US are thrown into the Ugandan 3rd world. They are confronted by a people to whom God has abandoned, and their faith is of no real world value. The boys end up questioning their faith and their roles in the world when things don't turn out as expected. For the first time they are allowed to think for themselves and question the Mormon teachings. Recruiting converts is assisted with creative story telling, and the help of a village girl who believes that the missionaries will take her away with them, out of danger, and out of Africa to Heaven- Salt Lake City. The illusion is shattered when the local warlord confronts them and shows the missionaries will offer no more than spiritual help. However through the "teachings" of the elders, the village has the spirit to unite and not succumb to fear of the warlord. When news reaches the Mormon leadership they send a representative to view the fine work, to find out that the boys have not been teaching the good book according to dogma. The boys are told to pack- they are going home as failures. The boys decide to disobey and teach their revised book of Mormon because it is the message and effect not the rules that matter in Africa.

I went into this show having a pretty good idea of what I was in for. I don't know that I could say the same about the couple in front of us. Frankly, I was surprised they came back after the intermission. Hilarious and well put together. I could totally see where a sensitive or religious audience member could walk away offended. There is a profound use of profanity and religious, sexual and racial overtones, but seemingly not just for their own sake. The show tells a story and really makes you think, not just about Mormons, but organized religion in general. I guess the bottom line is that I would definitely go see it again!

Hilarious yet tasteful...pokes fun at all religion but shows how important it can be for people.

The show is really funny, we were glad we went. Not for folks that are easily offended and not recommended for kids. The jokes are nonstop and there isn't a dull moment. Highly recommended.

Totally impressed with this show! Kevin Clay, Cody Jamison Strand and Charnette Batey were all incredible! Couldn't imagine it with any other cast!!

It's hard to not be a little disappointed when you go to see a broadway show and the understudy is in the lead role...but...the understudy that played Elder Price in BOM was phenomenal in every sense of the word! WOW! We were blown away by his voice, his comedic timing, facial expressions and ability to carry the show w/ Elder Cunningham (also amazing & great chemistry between the two). My guess is Kevin Clay will not be the 'under study' for long. We loved the show (it's hysterical), the cast and the voices & acting were top notch! The entire audience loved the BOM!

I loved every minute of this production. I'd heard nothing but great things from friends and colleagues who had seen the show and figured it was about time I joined in on the experience. While I laughed so much the singing was beautiful and even the dancing was great.

I was really wanting to like this but was extremely disappointed. I paid for third row center and almost fell asleep about half way through. We actually left early...it was that bad....

This show relied too much on making fun of the Mormon religion (not hard to do), raunchy dialogue and African stereotypes. I needed something with a little more depth.

Book of Mormon was so great, I wanted to see it all over again before they even finished their curtain call!! Our Elder Cunningham was spot on!! The lyrics were clever and fresh and the story added an unexpected reality to the production. The beautiful solo by the female lead almost made me want to visit to "Salta Laka City." I hope this will usher in a new era of hilarious, irreverent and relevant musicals -- such an amazing show!! Also, The Private Bank Theatre was a great place to see it (comfy seats w/ great visibility even w/an "obstructed view.")

After a somewhat slow start to lay the plot line, it took of with a bang. Not for those who are easily offended. Best for those with a twisted sense of humor. I've never seen anything like it!

The story is hilarious. The acting is excellent. I only made it to intermission before I said, "I think I need this soundtrack." The choreography balances between cliche and edgy -- just like the whole show. Together, everything blends together for a laugh-until-I-cried experience which draws together faith, church, and popular culture in an unforgettable way. This ranks with Les Mis and Phantom of the Opera in shows that I will *definitely* see when it comes to town again.

I thought the musical was very funny. However, the lines about getting cancer and dying should be taken out in my opinion. I've had 3 family members die in the past 6 years so I didn't find it funny or amusing at all. Other then that good production.

You will love this musical if you can handle stereotypes, clichés, and some, a ton, of sexual references. If you are not able to handle teasing and picking at subjects that aren't always casual conversation topics do not see this musical. The songs are very catchy and the lyrics are not what you'd expect. They are not afraid to say exactly what they mean. If you are able to handle all of that you will love this musical too.

An irreverent must-see! The cast was highly entertaining and the sets offered some creative use of space. We really enjoyed the catchy songs with melodies (but not lyrics, lol) reminiscent of some of my favorite musicals. I was not bored for a single moment. In retrospect, I was not blown away by the choreography and the finale left something to be desired. The treatment of privilege and supremacy was cheeky, crude and under-examined, but I can appreciate the South Park creators' unresolved critique of religion. In all their shows, I never know if they really think religion is the solution or the problem; this work was no exception.

The Book of Mormon was great! Very funny throughout. The two main actors were perfectly cast. This musical is definitely for adults only due to adult themes and language. We highly recommend this musical.

The show was awesome!! The music was wonderful, actors were top notch. Though I wouldn't want to watch this with my mother--very explicit language and imagery. But for those who are not easily offended--this was hilarious!

I expected to be shocked but did not expect to really enjoy everything about Book of Mormon. The cast was wonderful, very talented, the music, the dancing, the songs and the energy was unforgetable. If you are easily offended this show is not for you, as fun is poked at almost everything, but even though it is outrageous, the show is so funny and entertaining that it is a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend not missing this show, it was fantastic and I would go back another time to see it if I can.

This production was well written and incredibly performed! It was hysterical!! There were also some serious topics well placed throughout. My husband and I enjoyed every bit of it and I highly recommend it. If you don't have an open mind- don't go.

If you like South Park at all, this is a great show for you to see. Even though there are some pretty raunchy and politically incorrect (to say the least) scenes, my in laws were very happy to have seen it. The cast was pretty awesome.

This show was amazing. It was hilarious. My boyfriend and I didn't stop laughing from the moment it started until the final curtain. But, be forewarned, there is extremely inappropriate content that I would think twice about taking young kids, including teenagers to. You MUST have a sense of humor and know this is in no way a serious affront to anyone, it's just a show. That being said, it is a must see. **Strong language **Sexual references
