If Brian Setzer and his orchestra are in town, I'm there! And what fun to see this band. Top notch musicianship is the main reason to go, but it's just plain old fun on top of that. The band always looks like they're having a good time and you can see it. To kick things off even before the music gets started, there is a Gretsch guitar display in the lobby area where you can have your photo taken (it's free, they take the photo with your camera). This year, Santa was on the scene posing for pictures with Gretsch enthusiasts and with fans, like me, who don't know one end of a guitar from the other (you'll also see Santa make an appearance on stage at the end of the show). Cool merchandise is offered like the guitar pick set inside a cool tin holder, among the regular shirts and such. Then, you get to your seat and wait for the magic to begin. This is not a show for sissies, though. Many of the songs feature Brian wailing on one of several guitars he uses, and the guys blaring their horns. The exceptions would be Brian singing The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting...). Just him with his guitar. Then there was a beautiful version, with the horns, of Glen Campbell's Wichita Lineman. Don't think he's slowing it down too much though, because after the Campbell tribute, he goes right into a rockin' version of Tom Petty's Runnin' Down A Dream. I'm sure he won't do that tribute again next year, so if you are on the fence about going to see this show, better do it this year. There are Christmas songs thrown in throughout the show, and a couple of Stray Cats songs, too. And there's always the 4-piece down to a 3-piece rockabilly portion of the show that gets people up on their feet. I never get tired of hearing Jump Jive An' Wail live, and the showstopper of the night is the band's version of the Nutcracker Suite. For as many times as I've seen the Brian Setzer Orchestra, I'm always amazed at how they seem to get better and better each time I see them. Merry Christmas to me, and to all of you, too.

The BSO at Allen Events Center was a lot of fun, as usual. Setzer and his Orchestra know how to put on a spectacular show and make it a fun night for everyone. Even though it is a "Christmas" show, it is always a mixture of holiday tunes, swing, R&R and Rockabilly. That being said, this year seemed to be a little lighter on the Christmas songs than in years past. I kind of wish there were more of them and less of the other stuff. It's not a major problem though, it was an incredibly fun night and I'm already looking forward to going again next year!

If you want to get yourself in the Christmas spirit, Brian Setzer and his Orchestra will be glad to help. I saw him at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN and the show was outstanding. He and the band played all the Christmas standards, rockabilly style, plus hits from the Stray Cats era. People were dancing in the isles and singing along. At the end of the 2 1/2 hour show, Christmas was alive and well at the Ryman. Thanks, Santa Brian.

My wife and I have been wanting to attend the Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas show at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville TN for several years and have not been able to make our schedule work until this year. We say them this past Sunday (Dec 3) and it was better than we could have imagined! This band has more energy than a nuclear reactor!! Brian is an entertainer through and through. Amazing guitar chops, great vocalist and all around first rate showman. The band is "A-list" at every position. Great mix of songs with hits from the BSO catalogue, some Stray Cats classics and a tribute to Tom Petty with a version of Runnin Down a Dream that knocked me to the back of my seat!! I can only describe it as majestic. Imagine that song with a 13 piece horn section. It literally brought tears to my eyes. Anyway, I would count this as one of the most entertaining shows I've ever attended and I have been to a lot ('cause I'm old).

The Brian Setzer Orchestra played a phenomenal set. They performed Christmas songs interspersed with Rockabilly and swing classics. The highlight was a tribute to Glen Campbell, and a tribute to Tom Petty that showcased Brian Setzer s versatility. The show was phenomenal fun!

For years, a buddy of mine has been telling me that seeing Brian Setzer s Christmas show at the Rialto Theatre in Joliet, but he did not appear there the last 2 years. Well, this year....he returned to rock the Rialto. It was phenomenal. He even did a Glenn Campbell song as well as a Tom Petty song, in tribute to those great artists. Brian Setzer plays better than most anyone in the business. This is a must-see show!

My wife and I have been talking about going to this show for years and I finally jumped on the chance to purchase tickets the day they went on sale. The level of musicianship was top drawer by every member of the band. Brian himself has retained all of the chops that he displayed as a young rocker in the Stray Cats and then some. Great playing, great sound, great skill, great lighting, and great fun. If you've been sitting on the fence about seeing this show, your missing out. I recommend that you grab your best kitten or cat and go out for a swingin' night of holiday fun!

Another Fabulous show by Brian and his orchestra! Each of their Christmas shows is great (I've seen 4) but this one was extra special. They played some of the old (Pennsylvania 6-5000) and some new, as well a 2 tributes, one to Glenn Campbell, one to Tom Petty. Very touching. The whole band always seems to have a great time!

The show was excellent, sound quality excellent, Genesee is a wonderful venue, my only complaint is that the show was just a bit too short at under just 2 hours. Brian Setzer and the orchestra appeal to a very wide range of audience members. My husband really enjoyed it and there were many folks there in their 70's and older who obviously grew up listening to swing and big band music. A nice holiday all ages show to take the family to see.

I have been a fan of Brian's since the Stray Cat days. This show was more than I ever thought it would be. The only thing that could have made it better was if it was held someplace with a dance floor so everyone could just move with the music. The show started promptly and flowed smoothly through acts, guitar and costume changes. Also, there were large Santa and Snow men statues on each side of stage where we could do photos. It worked out in our venue. By the time they got to Rock This Town I was so overjoyed that I came to this event.

Such an absolute fabulous way to celebrate the season. The opening act was perfect, Brian's energy is infectious, and there wasn't a single moment I wasn't in awe. My only wish would be a venue with a GA area so those of us interested in dancing would have the chance. And so people who wanted to shout and sing loudly along (like the people behind me) would be away from those of us trying to enjoy that gorgeous band. So very worth the flight from Orlando... come down further south and see us next time!! Very bummed venue didn't have a stage door we could wait by for outgoing photos or autographs.

It's hard when the favorites from your youth get old-- especially when they are bands. Other artists, writers, and actors can often continue to entertain us as they mature, but let's face it-- it's hard to keep rocking the world when the years creep up. Brian Setzer does not seem to suffer from this problem AT ALL... I bought front row tickets to the show for my spouse's birthday; because of a last minute snafu, our teenage daughter ended up attending with me instead... Teenage girl + parental unit + old fogey audience X aging rocker = This should end in a miserable evening, right? Not at all-- the daughter was a bit stiff & uptight-uncomfortable for all of about 2 songs... But Brian Setzer can still rock a crowd, and let me tell you he had the whole audience enthralled, including my teen. She clapped along & I even caught her singing a few times, too. It was great-- my daughter & I aren't "Christmas People", but we loved every minute of the show: the classic Stray Cat riffs, the rock-a-billy favs, & even the Christmas music-- Especially loved the BSO version of the Nutcracker Suite. I highly recommend this show to everyone-- Heck, bring the kids, they're never too young to appreciate the greats.

This year was even better than the last 5 times I have seen this show. Brian changed it up this year while still doing all the favorites from the past. I love this venue, just wish it was closer to home for us. The staff is great, the sound is great, and the seats are good. I purposely sat in the first elevated section, first row, as opposed to the floor where we have sat in the past. Good move! I loved this spot. What a great group of musicians Mr. Setzer has amassed for his Christmas show. I wish he would tour with this group during the rest of the year.

It's now my family tradition to see BSO when he does his homecoming Christmas Extravaganza but this year (and last year was pretty damn good too) was special with a new album, new tunes added to the set, coming off a high of of getting a LI RNR HOF award, having his family and friends in attendance. His set was new, varied and tight. The band is always super but they were rockin'!!! It's also a treat when Brian has his brother and some local musicians to join him during his mid-concert semi-unplugged-rockabilly set.

This was the second time I've seen Brian Setzer in concert. The first was just about one year ago. This concert was just as terrific, and Brian shows what a wonderful showman he is. The 18 piece back-up band/singers are also top notch, and Brian's brother Gary (?) played drums on a few numbers while the big band took a break. Earlier in the day Brian Setzer was inducted into The Long Island Music Hall of fame, and he proudly displayed the award on stage. This was a Christmas concert so there was quite a bit of appropriate music done in the up-tempo Setzer way. My only regret is that The Brian Setzer Orchestra only plays this area during the holiday season.

Brian Setzer put on a fantastic show! This was my first time seeing them and I was there because my husband loves his guitar playing. I'm so glad we went. He and the other big band members were so enthusiastic and seemed genuinely happy to be there and to be performing. I was entertained every single moment and just loved it. The only negative I can say is about the opening act who played prior to Brian Setzer. While I don't expect the opener to be as enjoyable as the main act or the performer to be as talented, in this case, it was glaringly miles apart.

Brian Setzer and his orchestra don't disappoint! From the moment they took the stage, the band exploded into some of the most high-energy music we've heard in a long time. We didn't know how it would be possible to take it up a notch from there, but they were just getting started. They played both Christmas songs and other hits (Stray Cat Strut, Jump Jive and Wail, and Rock This Town, for example). The trio performance of Fishnet Stockings was amazing. The only disappointment was that Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer wasn't 10 minutes longer. That is a fantastic arrangement (the James Bond horn lick sounds super-cool) and needs some space to let the soloists fly. The backup singers were a blast!

Bright smiles and hair styles that seemed from the swing era. Brian Setzer was a great entertainer. Always smiling, telling some stories. Start to finish it was excellent. I loved Nutcracker Suite, Stray Cat Strut and Rock This Town! I can't wait to see the show again!

It has been a few years since the BSO Christmas show rolled into town. I have seen this show four times and they get better every time. This year there was an opening band. The name of them was totsy. They played for about 40 minutes were very entertaining. If I can provide any criticism it would have to be the playlist. Being a Christmas show I expected to here more of his Christmas favorites. All in all the show was fantastic. Brian and the gang can still wail. Worth every cent of admission!!

I'm a long time Seltzer fan but I went in to this show thinking it would be a "cute" solute to the holidays. Boy was I wrong...This is a rocking great time! Setzer and his orchestra covered holiday classics, new rocking holiday originals and a whole lot of BSO and Stray Cats classics. The 3 member Stray Cats set was exceptional. I highly recommend this show even if your not that familiar with this group. One more thing, the opening act (Totsy) was really entertaining. Original sound from this 9 piece act. I have listened to "Soap on A Rope" at least a dozen times on YouTube since the show. This band needs a recording contract!

Brian Setzer, his band, and the Hollywood Bowl orchestra did not fail to deliver. My cousin and I had a great time. Pros: 1) Amazing songs and musicians. 2) conductor was hilarious. 3) fireworks. 4) quality of set list. Cons: 1) not enough "noisy" fireworks. 2) parking (valet ran out). 3) smelly beer all around ya

I saw all three of the Brian Setzer Orchestra Fireworks finale shows at the Hollywood Bowl and although on Sunday night, I sat in terrace (the night before I was right in the front!), this was still one of the best Setzer shows I've seen. The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra played along with the Brian Setzer Orchestra. Along with swing dancers throughout various songs, the horns, Brian's sizzling guitar playing, and let's not forget the fireworks show during Rock This Town, it's hard to keep up with it all. You can't accuse Brian Setzer of being boring or not trying anything new. I got goosebumps hearing the strings mixed in with the songs. It was worth every penny!

I ve seen Brian Setzer perform live many times. This was my first time seeing him with his own orchestra and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and hearing strings incorporated into his music at a concert and it was phenomenal. The Brian Setzer Orchestra on its own is a very lively band with all of the horns and Brian playing his sizzling guitar(s). But add a symphony orchestra, swing dancing, and fireworks and your senses are working overtime. Songs like Sleepwalk and the do-wop gem I Won t Stand In Your Way just take on a completely different feel with strings being played. Even the rockabilly portion of the show got the strings treatment. As Brian Setzer called it, it is a rockabilly symphony . I wouldn't say the strings overtook the sound of the orchestra. There was just enough to add a dreamy feel to already great music. I saw all three of the Setzer Fireworks Finale shows and my friends and I think that he may be back at the Bowl doing this again. If he is, I ll be there. And I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anybody else to buy a ticket!

My husband and friends have never been to the Bowl before. They all loved the experience and LOVED the concert, despite the heat. Brian's orchestra, along with the dancers and the Bowl Orchesta was just fantastic. We all had a terrific time. Truly enjoyed the fireworks also.

If I could rate this show more than 5 stars, I would. I had been to the Brian Setzer Orchestra show the night before at Gibson Amphitheatre and came out of this show thinking the band had outdone themselves at the California Theatre. This venue is much more intimate and holds about 1,700 people (whereas the Gibson holds about 5,000-6,000 people). Wow! Brian Setzer works so hard on that stage and makes it seem efforltess. The show started out with the entire orchestra mixed with Christmas and non Christmas songs, keeping the energy level high througout the show - the horns mixed in with Brian Setzer's guitar playing make sure of that. Brian Setzer and his band all look like they're having a blast on stage. About mid way through the show, Brian strips it down to a three piece rockabilly band. He uses the stand up bass player and the drummer along with his guitar and plays about 5 songs rockabilly style before bringing the orhcestra back and goes into the encore. I don't see how anyone can't walk out of a Setzer show and not have a smile on their face. If you're on the fence about seeing Brian Setzer, here's my advice...JUST DO IT!

To see The Brian Setzer Orchestra was on my husbands Bucket List so I purchased tickets for him for our 24th wedding Anniversary. It was better than we imagined, you could truly feel the Christmas Spirit exploding all around. The warmth we felt from Mr. Setzer and the Orchestra was overwhelming. AWESOME MUSICIANS! We'll be looking forward to seeing them again & again. Thank you for an experience of a lifetime.

I loved this concert! Brian Setzer Orchestra is always fantastic. They played many of the Christmas songs and some of the Stray Cats music adapted for the Big Band. LOVED IT! I danced for two hours straight. I hope that Brian keeps rockin' for years to come. (I really miss it when they don't have the concert.) TOO MUCH FUN! I recommend this to anyone who likes Rockabilly, Big Band or Rock N' Roll.

For anyone who has never seen Brian Setzer live, put it on your concert bucket list and get to one of his shows next time he's in your area. His shows are so high energy, I don't know how anyone can stay in their seat! This holiday show was performed with his orchestra and The Gibson is a fun crowd and a festive atmosphere. The stage was decorated, there were great holiday backdrops during various parts of the show and The Grinch and a candy cane-throwing Santa Claus made the scene. And the best part? You get Brian Setzer to sing you through the night. His guitar playing is stellar, he was in fine voice and his band can't be beat. TOP NOTCH is the only way I can describe the talent on the stage. The show starts with the orchestra and mid way through the show, Brian strips down to a three piece band - guitar, stand up bass and drums. After a few rockabilly songs, they break back into orchestra mode. You won't get bored at this show, that's for sure. It's just plain old good music and a bunch o' fun rolled into 90 minutes that is worth every penny you paid for the ticket.

I always wanted to see the BSO and especially the Christmas show. He did not disappoint at all! Having an 18 piece orchestra and 2 backup singers really gives them a lot of depth. The Big Band sound goes perfectly with Brian's Rockabilly past. They even played 6 Stray Cats songs, which everyone enjoyed. And, without any introductions, he played Wichita Lineman (My Wife recognized it first!) a great tribute to Glen Campbell, a true Titan of music. Then, he went into Runnin' Down A Dream, another nice tribute to an icon lost in 2017. Very classy guy who still rips on the guitar. This show is for all ages, I would definitely recommend you see it at least once. I will be watching to see when the next BSO concert comes to town. I now want to see their regular show. Go BSO!

BSO is amazing, he connects with the audience, and ROCKS IN CHRISTMAS. We have been going for 8 years and this concert has become a Christmas Tradition in our house. This year was extra special because our boys came home from college just in time to make it to the Dolby Theater to see BSO rock in the Holidays for us. Also, Brian Setzer is a CLASS ACT, the dedication he did to Glen Campbell & Tom Petty was spot on and so cool... all I can say is this was unexpected, but showed so much respect to his fellow musicians. If you want to get into the Christmas Spirit, then this concert is a must. Thank you Brian & Band for many years of music, and keeping a beautiful family tradition strong, Merry Christmas.

What can I say, Brian Setzer and his orchestra were terrific. The show never let up -- super up tempo - I was surprised that they could keep the pace for the entire time that they were on stage. 13 Horns on stage - Wow. The two back-up singers added a great old school vibe as well -- really terrific. This was the first time that I saw the Christmas Show -- I can't wait to see them next year !

I thought the performance was spectacular. Brian has been neglected when lists of great guitarists have been published. He's a phenomenal act with an even more phenomenal voice. I only have two small complaints. 2. The band did a great cover of Tom Petty's Running Down a Dream, yet Tom wasn't given credit or a simple rest in peace. 2. I was also disappointed that they did not perform Zat You Santa Claus. I was really looking forward to that performance.

I have been a big fan of Brian Setzer and the Stray Cats for over 30 years but have never had the chance to see them live mainly because none of my friends or family are into rockabilly. I was also reluctant to go see him with an orchestra, of all things; I just couldn't picture the two styles of music blending properly. This year I turned 60yo and have officially started on my bucket list. Thus, I went to my first Brian Setzer Orchestra Xmas Show and I was blown away. The show had a perfect mix of old Stray Cats songs, a few more recent songs and xmas songs. Plus Brian looks great and plays his Gretsch guitar like no one else. The orchestra and rockabilly combo were just fine. I am going to have to do this again!

This Christmas Rocks Tour is SO much fun and entertaining! I went twice already and would go again. Brian is charming and a fun showman, while also a guitar artisan. The big band horn players are simply outstanding, and the arrangements such that you can't sit still! His sax man Tim is unbelievable!!!!! You HAVE to go! But it's a hot ticket I bet

This was easily one of the best shows I have ever seen. I have been to a multitude of concerts and this is right up there in my top 5. I thought we were going to just get his swing orchestra and have a great Christmas experience but then they went full on rockabilly and blew everybody's minds. I felt like we got two concerts for the price of one. Although we had great seats, next year I want to be right down front because he signed autographs and shook hands like a person that is really appreciative of his audiance. I feel like he has always been underrated by the masses. He is undeniably one of the greatest guitarist in the world.

What a wonderful way to get in the Christmas mood! For starters, my tickets were an unexpected Christmas gift from a dear friend. What unfolded was a high spirited, adrenalized shot of holiday cheer! An energetic band fronted by a much under rated guitarist with a 13 piece horn section, two female backup singers, an upright bass, and drummer. Plenty of great sounding fat Gibson guitars of many colors that glistened under a stunning light show. Setzer handles each of them with animated expertise. Nice mix of classic Christmas rock tunes, rockabilly standards, Stray Cats hits and even an unexpected inspired version of The Nutcracker Suite. This is a show that I would certainly see again to kick off the Christmas season.

We have seen this show a few times over the past few years, and it's always a fun time. We had group of 9, and everyone enjoyed it. Always impressed with how they manage to arrange these tunes for a 17-piece band, something we rockers don't get to see very often. Brian was having a blast out in front, and his guitar work is always great. The show is a fun, sometimes goofy mix of Christmas holiday and rockabilly classics, along with a few of his new tunes thrown in. Might suggest working on a couple of new holiday tunes that haven't been done on his CD's in the past...but maybe I've heard them all too often over the years! His Christmas CD's get a lot of playing time here when company is over. Only down side of the night was the poor audio mix on the opening band; could barely hear his slide playing. Also, the seats at the Orpheum must have been made back in a time when people were smaller, because it is pretty cramped, and I'm only 5'-10". Overall, a fun way to kick off the holiday season!
