Even with only 3 members playing, they didn't miss a beat and sound just as amazing, if not better, than they do in the album. Fantastic show!

sigur ros was an amazing concert experience. was excited to learn it was their first show in four years. the only thing that could have made it better was if it was in the actual amphitheatre. i believe that was a huge lost opportunity. i was not impressed by the brand new skyline stage. I hope there will be a more permanent facility there sometime if they want to continue having a secondary stage.

The opening band was fairly decent, hey had a large amount of short songs, very pretty and set the stage well for an even better performance. It is the first time Sigur Ros has played in Philly for us and i must say id love to see them again if they decided to come back. The audio quality was wonderful, the stage visuals were beautiful as well. Everyone around me was having just as good of a time that I was! I highly recommend everyone see this band live! Everyone did a great job and I can't wait for there next tour. Lets hope they come to us again next year? :D

Incredible show. Every second of every song gave me goosebumps. The show was outside during the summer. With the skyline of Philly in the background and a comfortable clear summer night, the only thing that could make it better was seeing Sigur Ros. The band didn't dissapoint. The show was arguably the best I've ever seen and the emotion was totally engrossing. Their music, Jonsi's voice, the whole ensemble; spectacular. A must see band whenever they play.

The music was exactly what I expected from these legends. Absolutely phenomenal! The movement and crowd interaction left something to be desired. I have to say, I was really expecting more on their part. As soon as the band began to play the crowd began to shush each other. I understand we'd all like to hear the beautiful music, but I'd also like to react to it. I've had much more fun in my living room, dancing and listening to their albums than I did seeing them live. I wasn't expecting the epic display from the MoMa, but some swaying or emoting would have been nice. I honestly didn't expect to leave feeling so stifled. After all, I've always felt liberated by Sigur Rós' music. Honestly, I feel like I should have saved my money. If quietly standing for 3 hours is the reaction they want their music to inspire, then I don't think their hearts are really in it. That would make them artsy and pretentious. They can keep the yuppies on their bandwagon. I'll just jump off to make more room.

My 1st time ever seeing SR and I wasn't let down. One of the most amazing shows I've ever seen and I've seen most of the highly praised acts to come out of the last 15 years. Whole night was magic. The only thing I woulda changed was moving the concert into a smaller seated venue like the Academy of Music as Skyline Stage just didn't offer the intimacy to the music that I woulda liked for a band like this. Hope to see them in a smalller venue before A) I die or B) They disband; whichever comes 1st. Cheers.

Ive seen Sígur Rós a few times, the last being in Reyjavik. I feel like after loosing Kjartan their music has taking on a new sound. I'm perfectly okay with the sounds that they are putting out and the performance is still quite breathtaking. But along with this loss I think that they've sought to put more into the production side and the result of that has been negative in my opinion. I'd rather not have the lights and the screens with special effects. Their music does enough to move and provoke thought. I don't need the other things to assist in that. I'm actually quite fond of their smaller performances in more intimate environments as most people are with most artists. Obviously when you are as big a name as they are; it is nearly impossible to get to see them at a small venue. But I wish at least that they would add on another artist who could take off some of the load so that loops and effects weren't relied on as much and also the production. Still love them and will always respect their music as it has had a very special place in my heart. Just my thoughts.

I love sigur Rós and have seen them in the past at UIC pavilion in Chicago. That was sonically and visually One of the greatest shows that I've ever seen in my life so emotional, at times it seemed that there were ten musicians on stage all playing different unique instruments. This was just three members and it felt like so much was missing. Their were a couple great moments but overall I was disappointed.

The trio from Iceland certainly did not disappoint. I have been a fan for over a dozen years but never saw them before. It is my understanding that in the past, Sigur Ros had elaborate productions including additional orchestral musicians join them on stage. The October 1st concert was a departure in that there were just the 3 band members--with each of them taking a turn on keyboards/synths. Nonetheless, they managed to serve up a feast for the ears and eyes--conjuring thoughts of the birth of our planet. If you love the band like I do, you will thoroughly enjoy the show. My wife attended as well.. She enjoys their music but I would not classify her as a big fan--yet she thoroughly enjoyed the show as well. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that both my wife and I are not big fans of live performances where some of the vocals are pre-recorded. It is possible that this was necessary due to the lack of additional musician backup.

Jonsi is right when he says "It's not about what I'm saying, it's about how you are feeling" which is exactly what happened. I took my best friend to the concert for his birthday and I am not that big a fan of Sigur but then when I got there I had such an amazing time, he really moved me I found myself crying out of joy, sadness, happiness, and just overall having such a moving experience. Visually stunning just as much as it was audibly stunning.

It is cliche, but words can not describe the power, creativity, vividness, and intensity of this show. I've listened to Sigur Ros for 4-5 years but never seen them live outside of videos and even video performances fall short. If you can, get a set list, especially if you aren't too familiar with Kveikur, their newest album. Also note, the set list is different that the one from the iFestival that was linked from their website, and although my daughter's favorite was omitted (Svefn-g-Englar), this selection and arrangement of songs was much better than what was online through the iTunes store.

I would recommend this show to anyone who is a fan, and maybe someone who isn't. The sound is amazing and the light show is intense. Some of the lights were a little too intense (bright) on occasion. The sound was nearly perfect overall, there was some distortion at times, but I would say it was a great venue to see a rock/electronic band. I was very disappointed not to hear "Ísjaki", apparently they played that on the last tour? Easily my favorite song on the new album. No encore, but they played for about 100 minutes straight, so I don't blame them. I arrived at about 8:20 and didn't see the opening band, must have been an extremely short set. The only bad thing I can say about the venue is the only beers they had on tap were Bud & Bud Light. With all of the amazing craft beer being brewed in Chicago this is a travesty. 4 Stars overall.

First of all, I consider these guys to be the gods of modern music. I had heard that they were as glorious as Jesus on stage. The setting was perfect in terms of weather and the woods backdrop was awesome. I got within 8 rows with no problem. Unfortunately, 8 rows isn't close enough when there are tall jumpy people in front of you, but that wasn't the band's fault. I certainly want to see them again in a more traditional ampitheater setting to get a better view and would love to see a more traditional act at this venue. The performance itself was absolutely incredible. Although it wasn't as perfect as their recordings, Jonsi's voice is as awesome as you would like it to be. He held a note for about three minutes straight, and it is a true wonder he plays the guitar with a bow. The rest of the band was great too; I particularly enjoyed the brass. The stage setup was reminiscent of TSO; lots of lasers and white lights but not in your face. The lights on the mic stands added the most haunting effect I've ever seen at a show. It was a concert only in the most literal sense; it truly is an experience

Sigur Ros took the stage in front of a smallish, intimate crowd of dedicated followers (attested by the screams and wild applause). With a darker, brooding rhythm and heavy drum beats Sigur Ros proved, once again, that they never fail to surprise an delight! The passion was evident in all of the band members, but none more than frontman Jonsi. Witnessing the passion of the lead singer is reason enough to see them live, let alone their excellent new album.

WOW!!! Another fantastic night with Sigur Ros (my seventh time seeing them). Their music drifts between ethereal and hypnotic choir, to walls of sonic metal. I thought it was as enthralling as a Pink Floyd or Radiohead show. The sold out crowd varied from young hipsters to graying parents bringing their kids. There was no specific demographic, which is amazing considering they sing only in Icelandic. Love this band!

Here is a scenario. Square suburban guy reveres a band for 10 years and never meets another person who loves this band as much as him. He throws in the towel and decides to finally attend this concert by himself. He then discovers thousands of people who love this band as much as him. The concert concludes and realizes he has seen something special. So much so, this square suburban guy break out into tears as he despises his pathetic existence. Why did it take him so long to witness something this amazing? If he had awhile ago, he may have been inspired to do more with his life. At least he no longer fears being a loner, there were many of us loners in attendance on this day. The great news was that we were not alone, not in the least.

I don't know what to say. I didn't think they'd be able to top off their concert last August at Echo Beach with the amazing setting and mood but the power of their performance at the Air Canada Centre indicates that they are just getting better and better. And if the preview of their new songs is any indication about their new album I can certainly guarantee that it's going to be one of the best albums of the year, by and large. The new songs have so much power and are so heavy with an insane rhythm. I can't wait to hear the full album upon release and hopefully they'll come back to Toronto in the Summer for the full support of the new album.

I really can't cthapture the greatness of this show through words. All I can say really is that everything was prefect. The stage setup was amazing. Everyone played and sang perfectly. The lights on and above the stage and the panoramic video screen behind the stage made the show beautiful and powerful and just jaw droppingly breathtaking. I was just in awe for the entire 2 hours that Sigur Ros played. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions and in the end I couldn't have been happier. I am confident in saying that I am now a Sigur Ros addict and will try to see them every chance I get. This show was truly a life-changing experience. Seeing Sigur Ros live is a very immersive reminder that humans are capable of creating incredible & intense beauty. This is the third time I have seen them in NYC, in twice as many years, in venues from United Palace Theater (an ornate old church) to Prospect Park Bandshell (among trees and lawn) to this show at MSG... and they managed to handle 20k fans as intimately as they did 7k.

I had waited 13 years to see Sigur Ros live after becoming acquainted to them as a kid and becoming more and more a fan as time passed, and I knew I couldn't pass up finally seeing them when I was able to. And despite those ridiculously high expectations, the guys blew me away. I found my eyes filled with tears on more than one occasion as they played beloved songs from over the years. They played a few new songs in the top half of the concert but also mixed in some old, classic piano- and xylophone-heavy songs before launching into the darker, heavier stuff as the show progressed. Despite Jonsi having some sound problems about halfway through the concert (during which time he kicked his microphone stand off the stage), the band fully recovered and continued playing majestically. After Sigur Ros finished playing, of course the crowd demanded an encore and they came back onstage for another two songs which were the real climax of the show. It ended on a raucous note (literally) and the crowd leapt up for an overwhelming standing ovation. I had seen supposed set lists of other recent concerts before, but I was still not sure what songs they would play, but Sigur Ros delivered as always. I couldn't do anything but stare at Jonsi, Orri and Georg as they each got so enraptured in their own music. Beautiful, just gorgeous. It was hands down the best concert I've ever been to \u2014 no contest \u2014 and I plan to see them again as often as I can. Takk, Sigur Ros.

Honestly out of 100 concerts I've been too this has and will be the best show I've ever been too. I just love sigur ros so much and i'm glad i had the honor to see them live. If you thought you really loved sigur ros just wait till you see them live, words can't describe how much i adore them after seeing them live.

I do not ever review concerts or purchases, but I needed to say something about these performers and the venue. It was a perfect evening in a venue that was not too large but big enough to accommodate Sigur Ros' fantastic visual displays. The performers are top notch, and I've often replayed parts of that wonderful show in my head over the past week. What a transcendent experience. Go see them... Take it from someone who doesn't usually spend a lot of money on concerts: It's worth every penny!

Amazing show. Perfect weather. Perfect venue. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a show from beginning to end like I did at this one.

This was possibly the most unique concert performance I ever attended. I was so intrigued with everything visual and everything audible. It was an honor!

Everything about the show itself was amazing! I've never seen an artist with as much stage production and thought put into their visual effects. I didn't mind shelling out the money for the tickets, but concession prices were RIDICULOUS. Make sure you do your tailgating because a single can of beer on average cost $10.

Sigur Ros delivered a spectacular show at the Mann. Breathtakingly beautiful. My meager words cannot fully describe the ethereal music that Sigur Ros creates. They are true artists.

There aren't words that can adequately describe this experience. You must see it to understand how perfect and beautiful the show is.

I cannot believe I was able to see Sigur Ros!!! I have listened to them religiously for the last seven years and have dreamt of seeing them perform live, but I never in a lifetime assumed that would be possible. My life is changed and one of my dreams have come true.

I have been a fan for 10+ years but this was my first chance to see them live. Amazingly, they sound even better as a live production and the light show was stunning. The performance was emotional and beautiful. Without doubt this was one of the best shows I have ever been to.

The production value of the show made for a stunning display, but when I see a live show, I prefer for the vast majority of the music itself to be played live. Too much of the vocals and instrumental sound came from a track for my liking. I still think the band is worth seeing once, but believe a better show would have more than just the 3 of them playing so more of the music could be played/sung live and there may be less reliance on a track.

I like listening to Sigur Ros' music and have for a long time. But this concert was a joke. Three people who showed no instrumentalism at all playing along to a track blasting in your ear. They were taking themselves way too seriously. About three songs in I was literally laughing under my breath, trying not to ruin it for everybody else. Luckily my wife, who goes to far fewer concerts, turned to me and asked if it was a joke, then I had someone to talk to about how laughable it was. I can confidently say that this was the worst concert I have ever been to by far. I was embarrassed that I paid for such good seats.

Loved the first and second set. Very memorable. Kinda wished they had played some of their more pop-like songs (Inni, Gobblegook,etc..). But the whole experience (visual and audio) was worthwhile. Loved every minute. I hope they tour again soon. Jonsi's voice is amazing.

Having seen sigur ros at other shows and been amazed, their show 6/4/17 at the Palace Columbus was a disappointment. At times the bassist was off key from and a fraction of a beat behind Jonsi. Also, the visuals weren't nearly as entrancing even though we've seen this same tour/show at other venues. Part of that could have been the relatively vertical seating of the Palace -- we always sit in the Loge/lower balcony area but at the Palace that was up quite high. Definitely recommend earplugs for this show -- the volume level is very high with thumping bass and several of the songs have very loud (intentional) discordant riffs. With earplugs, there were a few times where it got uncomfortably loud -- I can only imagine how it would have been without the plugs!

This is one of those bands, I think, that you must see live to really do them justice. From the opening moment my daughter and I were blown away. I went in as a fan, but not an obsessed one. This concert changed all of that - I had no idea what lurked behind their recordings. Jonsi's voice! So clear and pure and hauntingly beautiful, it didn't matter that I couldn't understand the language. It was very moving. I feel like he is the counterpart of Lisa Gerrard- both their voices seem to come from some deep wellspring within them. But do not be deceived! As ethereal as it was the music would change at the drop of a hat and it was Armageddon - with Jonsi's voice still soaring above it all. I couldn't believe I could still hear him above the magnificent noise. I must also give props to whoever did the lighting/stage show- one of the best I've seen I think. I've been to quite a few concerts in my life and this one was quite unique all the way around. If you like them even just a little, do not hesitate to go see them. I only hope I get to see them again. Well done! Oh- I loved the venue too, would definitely see another concert here.

Stop thinking about whether or not you should buy tickets to this show and BUY THEM ALREADY. You will not regret it. The music and visuals in this show converged to create the most beautiful piece of art I have encountered in a long, long, time. It was ethereal, cinematic, intense, and full of raw beauty. An unforgettable evening!

The show was pretty and Jonsi had a beautiful voice but their stage presence was a little lacking. Sigur Ros is great in the headphones for those moments you need relaxation; not so much for an in concert show. I was almost falling asleep most of it until the final song when they finally raged out.

I went to the concert without knowing much about this group. They prove that musics transcends language. I didn't understand a word, nor did I need to. The lead singer has a beautiful, haunting voice! The light show was the best I have seen. It made for a very memorable experience.

All I can say is if you ever have the opportunity to see Sigur Ros in concert, DO NOT pass on the opportunity. Travel as far as need be. They don't come around often and their tours are usually limited in size. You will not regret it, as I can guarantee an unforgettable experience.

The Palace Theater felt like it was built for this show with the acoustics and lights bouncing all around the theater and rotunda ceiling. The central loge seating was perfect for the complete experience as well. If you've never been to a Sigur Ros show and are a fan, GO! If you have been to a show, GO AGAIN! Just the three guys - no strings, no brass - playing a set that felt like we were a hometown backpocket crowd with no pretense. Amazing!

Sigur Ros was a truly amazing concert experience for us. For starters, it was way closer to a classical music performance than a rock show, which we preferred. There was even an intermission between the two sets, which caught us off guard a bit. The stage setup was really neat and the accompanying light effects created a rather cerebral experience - perfect for Sigur Ros! This was our first time seeing them. It's safe to say we will make an effort to catch them anytime they are in town. We started listening about 8-10 years ago, but rather casually. They've been on heavy rotation ever since the show. I highly recommend catching them live if you can. Even if you're not a fan, it's an experience to be had.

What a show! I was worried based on the set lists I saw that Sigur Ros would not play Popplagið. They did, a shortened version, but amazing nonetheless. On a side note, Ticketmaster sent me 2 seats that were not even next to each other! Thankfully, Masonic made things right.

Some I started looking the band and I remember pretty well that the first video that caught my ears was Olsen Olsen, I was expecting at some point in my life be in a concert like the one in this video and now I have the opportunity to enjoy something better. It was amazing and I definitely will go again if there is a chance to do so.

It took awhile for them to get on stage. Parking was terrible. The concert itself began a little underwhelming and quiet. It slowly grew and became louder. At the end I was definitely glad to have gone. The songs played were excellent. I feel like this guy loses his voice all the time.

Rarely now a days is a concert perfect, this Sigue Ros show was. The venue, the sound, the lighting, the band, the song selection and most of all the attentiveness of the audience, everything was perfect.

The most life-changing musical experience EVER. I had NO CLUE! I have always loved Sigur Rós, but this was something TOTALLY different. One of the best nights of my life; one where everything just went right. The universe conspired to bring me (and all of us) closer to joy. My take from the night: It is rare for me to come across a work of art that is so great, so phenomenal that it makes all other art seem laughable.

Sigur Ros never fails to put on an amazing show. Their music alone is really all you need, but for their tours they add in visual aspects as well - and it becomes a game changer. My only complaint is that many people didn't seem to care/get the message that Sigur Ros was the ONLY performance, 2 parts with an intermission. There was no opener. I wish the staff (although super nice and helpful) was more equipped to not let people walk in/out during songs and treat it more like the theatre performance it was. It was really distracting since we were mostly seated the whole time, and in theatre seats people have to climb over others.
