Jon Stewart was interviewed by Kerry Nolan (WQXR) on a variety of topics she introduced. We laughed, bemoaned the present political landscape, urged him to return to TV or run for office himself!

Jon Stewart is hilarious; we laughed so hard it hurt. Nothing is sacred, and it was side-splitting. He even ran long because he was on a roll and enjoying himself. My only complaint is for the Meyerhoff - his microphone wasn't up high enough, and those of us up in the top tier had a hard time hearing, so there were a few jokes we missed.

Jon Stewart put on the best show ever. He is very funny and has a keen insight. His style of humor is pertinent to our time and holds a mirror to ourselves that we need to look into.

This man was waaaaay too funny! The bit about his kids was awesome. There were times that it was a bit hard to hear him, even with the mic, but still totally worth taking a few hours to go see this legend.

Thank goodness the Daily Show doesn't air on fridays, because this show definitely made my week worth getting through! Jon Stewart was hilarious and perceptually provocative throughout his stand-up set; getting out of Richmond to see him in Norfolk was worth driving in the rain to do!

As a former stand-up comic, I was excited to have the opportunity to see Jon in an onstage, one man show. I've only been exposed to his incredible wit and intelligence thru The Daily Show and various interviews. How would it translate? Would he be too overtly political? Did he have range beyond The Daily Show? The answer to the these questions can be presented as follows: Insightful, perceptive, thought-provoking, sidesplittingly, aching jaw inducing, laugh out loud, tears in the eyes, hysterical!!! Absolutely BRILLIANT! His act ran the gamut from politics to the enviroment, religion, family relationships and world and human events, consistently funny and perceptive. I've seen many great comics live in my life from Sam Kinnison and Eddie Murphy to Robin Williams, but last night at Chrysler Hall with Jon Stewart rates right up there as one of the most entertaining, endorphin triggering evenings my wife and I have ever experienced! Thank you, Jon, for a great time, a real treat!

Back at Chrylser Hall for the first time since he attended the U2 concert in the early 80's, Jon Stewart wowed the capacity crowd. Opening with his usual brand of sly digs about the governor's race in Virginia, the William and Mary grad peppered his 90 minute routine with local references that had the audience rolling. Insightful and clever as he is on the Daily Show, he threw zingers at all the hot issues of the day. I laughed till my jaw ached.

With nothing more than a microphone, a stool, and a bottle of water, Jon Stewart held the audience captive. He was hilarious, thoughtful, and amiable. A bit of his normal Daily Show schtick alongside his own musings on religion, culture, and family. If you like him on TV, you will not regret seeing him live.

The show started 15 minutes late and some yahoos were still walking in during his set. They disturbed the rest of us trying to watch the show.Have a little respect please! Stewart was his usual witty self. He talked to the audience and even handled the hecklers. The computer banter was especially appealing to us in the older and less tech savvy generation. Overall, worth the price of admission.

It was a nice show and Stewart was fun. I couldnt hear the first 10 minutes of the show due to being towards the back and Stewart mumbling with his mic far from his face. The sound guys turned up the volume finally and people yelled for Stewart to speak up and all was fine. He spoke of politics somewhat but not enough for my taste as that is what I associate him with and his speaking of Cheney was a series of grunts for 5 minutes. He did normal comedian penis fare, spoke on the world not currently having a Pope, and kids. His political humor was awesome and I just wish he spent more time on that. I would bet the people sitting in his audience are more intelligent and well-off than average and here is a man who has met some of the most powerful and intelligent people in the world; I wanted much more on those topics!

I have wanted to go see the Jon Stewart show for years in NYC but could never even get on a waiting list. I jumped at the chance to see him in Baltimore on Mar. 1st. He was awesome. He's smarter than most politicians and a serious political satirist and comedian. I would not have missed this for the world!!

I was pleasantly surprised that Jon Stewart had no opening act and no supporting cast to do vignettes during his show. He did a solo set that lasted more than an hour as if he is on the standup circuit fulltime road. The show was laugh out loud funny, and filled with genuine insights. It was a mixture of totally current events (the fact that we are now Popeless; the sequester) and more perrenial themes (political gridlock; Dick Cheney; Jews versus Christians). His set flowed well and offered many memorable moments. Some parents took children who may have been too young for the language (no bleeping of the F-word here),and some bits(a homeless man maturbating on the stoop of his building). For a performer who is not on the road regularly, he handled periodic outbursts from fans (not heckles as much as inappropriate intrusions) very deftly, and his spontaneous banter with several audience members was very funny. His occassional diversions into family life and raisng children also were very funny. Stewart comes across as more pessimistic than I would have expected, my assumption being that night after night of pointing out the disfunctional world and systems we live in has taken some toll. I hope he avoids going down the increasingly angry ranting (but still briliantly funny) roads that George Carlin, Dennis Miller and Lewis Black have taken. Definately worth seeingf.

Poetician
Stewart took the stage, a man , his mike and his stool. What he lacks in height, he compensates with cool. The audience filled the hall, awaiting their monies worth. Jon sips his sips, parts his lips, and the jokes spewed forth. Wrestling Obama, tackling Bush, and bitch slapping hate; K O-ing Dick Cheney and serving him up like quail on a plate. Boxing with religion, Sparring with sequestor just to name a few. Stewart proved to be pretty athletic for an unathletic Jew. While chanukah is drab, and there's no Xmas for him, Easter trumps Peasach, well at least he still has Purim.

We absolutely loved John Stewart. He was brilliant. Very good with jokes on the fly. But transition from the first show which was 8pm - 9:30pm and our show which started at 10pm was the worst. I am glad that the show did not start until the huge line of those waiting to get in died down, but still the anxiety of traffic and not being able to find parking was not a good way to start the show. If its unreasonable to transition one show in 30 mind then make the second show an hour after the first. Just sayin...

Very funny, 90 plus minutes of his distinctive commentary without the censor bleeps. It was fun to see him in casual dress and a subdued, off the cuff manner. He spoke and joked with a personal tone about local stories, politics, religion, gay marriage, current events, his kids, etc. I love his thoughtful, intelligent insights, always tempered with goofy, low brow humor. And plenty of f..k this and that. He reveals a lot of his true self in his show; a charitable, reasonable and mature man, cynical but hopeful, gentle but not pacifistic, unhesitant to attack bad ideas and bad behavior as he sees it. The crowd was interesting, half the audience seemed to be over 40, with many gray hairs. There were many middle-age types, like me, who lived in the sixties and seventies and remember when social change and difference were welcomed.

The show had everything. New jokes, plus oldies-but-goodies from The Daily Show and Stewart's old stand-up, and even a little audience interaction, Although it was mostly political and religious (which is fine by me), Stewart also added some personal jokes on family and aging. All in all, there was not one single dull moment. It was great.

Worth every penny to get good seats for any quality live performance, and these were indeed good seats and indeed a QUALITY performance. Seeing this genius on stage was tops. It was refreshing to laugh hard and sincerely for an hour straight. Jon provided a good evening of inciteful humor - The pace was a little slow to start - and I was disappointed that the early bits were repeats of stuff from his show - that being said, the balance of his act was first rate - he covered a number of topics, all with the irreverence one would expect from Jon. I was really pleased to see him take some questions from the audience - with direct exchanges that were very good

Listening to Jon Stewart is always entertaining. I did think the audience Q&A was disjointed. Rather than ushers walking around with mics, should have had lines form in the aisle behind mics, or collect them on cards to screen out the self-promoting audience members.

First of all, Mr Stewart came on the stage 15 minutes late with no explanation or apology which I think is rude and arrogant. To his credit, he did do his 90 minute performance, despite the late start. He is very bright and very funny, but I found his repeated and frequent use of the "F" word distracting and unncecssary. Is it not possible to complete one whole sentence in 90 minutes without it? It is because of this that I would not recommend this show to very many of my friends.

Jon's performance was everything you had come to expect. Topics ranged from topical religious humor, to the lack of political discourse in American society, to being a dad and raising kids today. Each subject was dealt with the usual sarcasm and insight we've come to expect after watching him for years on "The Daily Show." My sides hurt from laughing so hard. An excellent performance that balanced local commentary and national/international political critique. The comparison of Jewish Holidays and Christian Holidays was poignant and hilarious. Audience participation did not add to the show, but also did not particularly detract from it. The biting commentary on national politics is his forte' and stock-in-trade, and this was no exception. Reliance on profanity is excessive, but it has come to be permitted and expected in live performances. His ability to project facial expressions as part of the narrative is amazing. His anecdotes on the attention span of Congress and the Public is regretably on track. His protrayals of the speaking styles of Obama and Bush showed get insight.

Jon delivered just what I had hoped for- his irreverent, well thought out take on our country and the world through a Progressive's eyes. I suspect the whole audience needed neck braces from injuries sustained while nodding in agreement and cracking up at the same time. Plus, Jon was able to really let it rip without being bleeped, which frankly made it fun. I left the show thrilled to have laughed that hard, and somehow also smarter and better informed than when I sat down. It is true genius to juxtapose that kind of silliness with such in depth topics. If he would just run for President....

I am a huge fun of Jon Stewart and the Daily Show! That said, I felt that his material for this performance was very predictable. So, while it was funny, much of it was a reiteratiion of what I have already seen on many of his Daily Show episodes--making it not as fresh or entertaining as what I had hoped for. What we saw on stage was definitely an angrier version of Jon Stewart than what you get to see on the Daily Show. Funny enough, this is what Stewart admitted himself at the beginning of the show when he said: "I am getting many looks from people over here that say 'you are not the nice man we know from TV - you are mean, short and fat'. I am paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it. Still, overall, a very enjoyable appearance of Jon Stewart here in Durham. I am really happy that the DPAC can attract people of his caliber! If you either know the Daily Show or you are politically inclined this is a fabulous show. He is relaxed, insightful and takes on the left and the right (but more the right). This show was well worth the ticket price, the babysitter's fee, the pizza for the babysitter, the after-show espresso, the salad eaten over the sink, the mileage and gas for the car, the dry cleaning fees, the carpet cleaning fees, the childrens' therapist, the babysitters' therapist, the pets' therapist, and the re-upholstery of the living room chair.

Hello, I had a very mixed experience while watching Mr. Stewart perform - good times and bad. On the one hand, it was very entertaining and extremely funny. On the other, I laughed so hard I pooped myself twice, peed on my favorite jeans, pulled an abdominal muscle, and suffered a mild stroke. Please ask Mr. Stewart to use his comedy more responsibly in the future so as to keep these kinds of injuries to a minimum. Thank you

It was a highly enjoyable experience that me and my wife wont forget for a long time. If your in the mood for a good laugh on all aspects of life ( Politics, Race Family ) then Jon Stewart is your man for a good laugh.

The laughs started immediately and didn't stop until the very end. I was impressed with his ease with the audience, the way he wove local information into his set, and the transitions between thoughts.

I had the best time watching Jon Stewart live at Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, VA. He is wonderfully funny and so natural in his style. I learned some, I laughed tons and I would watch him again and again. I am sure it helps that I agree with most of his opinions.

First of all I was shocked that there was NO opening comic to warm up the audience. The greatest comics in the world use an opening comic, but in retrospect, Jon Stewart doesnt need an opening act. He is brillant, warm, charming and indeed, perhpaps THE Most Trusted Man in America. The last time I laughed that hard and long was when I saw Steve Martin in the 70's

I laughed the entire time. I got to the point where I was laughing at absolutely everything he said and did. I'm so used to the Jon Stewart on the Daily Show and was worried about how his stand up would be but he was great! His stand up proved that he can talk about things other than politics.
