We the Kings

We the Kings

We the Kings are a melodic emo-pop band from Bradenton, Florida, a small Southern town that doubles as the home base for Tropicana orange juice. Friends since childhood (the band's moniker even refers to the name of their junior-high mascot), the four bandmates -- singer/guitarist Travis Clark, guitarist Hunter Thomsen, his bassist brother Drew Thomsen, and drummer Danny Duncan -- formed the group while attending high school. Under the guidance of manager Bret Disend, they placed a number of tracks on the social networking site Purevolume in 2007 to build online buzz. Meanwhile, they also pursued a deal with EMI's imprint S-Curve Records, which eventually signed the group.

This was one of the best concerts I've ever been too. Although the event was sold out, it wasn't unreasonably packed. The opening acts were great and also relevant, being within a similar genre. It was great to find smaller bands I had never heard before. The WTK concert itself was great. Travis told funny stories and interacted with the crowd. They played known favorites and also less popular songs. It was overall so much fun, I highly recommend seeing WTK in concert!

Best concert! I hope WTKs comes back to Boston soon. They are an amazing group of guys! At the meet and greet they are so kind and really show you how much they appreciate you. Coley mentioned to the entire band that I rocked my ass off the entire show because I was right on the barricade near his spot on stage. I can't wait to see them again!

WTK had an amazing and humorous performance, fate Crash The Party and This Century pumped us all up and got us running. Flinging bras, flying picks, band moms, and sorority positions made the We The Kings' Art of Tour an amazing experience

This show was so much fun! It was my third time at Station 4, and think it's a great venue. All the bands rocked! The crowd gets really into it, which I love, and everyone is just there to hear some awesome music and have a good time!

We the Kings and Mayday Parade played with energy and actually played their songs well. A Rocket to the Moon was not bad either and the singer from There's for Tomorrow was amazing under the circumstances. Therefore, the music was awesome, but the crowd was demoninated by tweens and high schoolers. Although it was expected, it was still frustrating having to deal with since I am a college student.

Unfortunately I only got to see the first 3 bands because I am sick, so I missed We The Kings. I'd have to say though, the other bands were spectacular! The one man show for There For Tomorrow sounded beautiful acoustic, he should think of doing that more. Mayday Parade, the main attraction for me, was no disappointment. The music sounded great and there was great energy. Wonderful concert. I hope they all come back again soon!!!

This was by far one of the best concerts that i have ever been to EVER! All the bands were so amazing and super awesome. A Rocket To The Moon sounded even better live then on the CD, Mayday Parade brought an energy like no other and of course, We The Kings was the perfect ending to an unforgettable evening. Travis Clark has a talent for making the crowd truly feel loved and appreciated. He also introduced me to Pat Brown which totally blew me away! Thank you so much everyone!!!

The concert was so amazing! I had an absolute blast! I would 100% go see We The Kings again in concert! Very entertaining and they just owned the stage! Very happy I decided to go! (and I had a two and a half hour drive there and back! Worth it!) Loved every minute, even the opening bands too! Brother James, She Is We, and AJR were all amazing! Not only did I get to see one of my favorite bands perform, but I discovered new favs! It's not often that you go to a concert and love the openers as much as the main band! It was worth every penny (and the ticket prices were super reasonable!) The Madrid Theatre was an amazing venue as well! Very nice and clean and the staff were super nice and accommodating with my mother needing a handicapped seat! I have no complaints at all!

Coley hunter and Zac, she is we, and AJR! I would do it over a thousand times again! Tickets were reasonably priced which was also freaking awesome. Although next time I hope they do it at a different venue where it's easier to see!

We the Kings had 4 acts in front of them and didn't end up coming on till 9:15pm. After waiting a few hours I was expecting them to preform as many songs as they can within the time they had. Travis and the rest of the band did a LOT of talking interrupting songs to talk. It just felt like they dragged out the concert forever. This band has a ton of great songs so many albums and they decided to do at least 3 or 4 covers and Travis ended up signing the national anthem because it came up in conversation. I really enjoyed the songs that they did end up playing but there were way too many covers and pauses between songs. In addition this was an all ages concert and Travis wouldn't stop talking about sex he made references and jokes to his other band members and it was just unexpected. Without the constant interruptions, covers, and talk about sex, the concert was pretty good. I don't think I would see them live again though.

I needed a great concert, they delivered. Even the openers were great and I was introduced to a handful of new bands I like. Elena Coats did a small set of her own music to start, and I really liked it. If she had a cd available, I would have purchased it there. I also really loved the band AJR they had open. These guys put on a show, the had amazing energy and crazy dance moves and had the crowd going crazy. Finally, We The Kings came on and I 100% would see them again today if I could. They sounded great, they entertained and they involved the crowd in every song. It was an amazing experience and I recommend it highly if you have the chance to see them.

The show was awesome. It took me over an hr to get to the venue and it was still more than worth it. Everyone was really nice there including other fans. It had handicap accessibility which was a plus. The band was perfect. They played played old songs and new songs. We the Kings treats their fans really well. I loved every song they played and everyone knew all the songs. I wish I could properly describe how cool it was to be there. They also came out after the show to say hi to fans as soon as they could. Also, I almost forgot to mention the two opening bands Crash The Party and This Century were bands that I'd never heard of before but I really liked. If you get the chance to see We The Kings live don't miss out on it. It's the best thing ever. You'll thank me later. This is my 2nd show and I'm already planning the next one!!! WTK is sooo bous!

They were all wonderful! I loved the live Music Video put on by We The Kings, not saying a real person in the crowd would of been nice ^-~ but all was well. I enjoyed The Ready Set and his haha bodacious turn on stage, good save! Loved how real you were on stage. Now Breathe Carolina, even though the other member was absent I still loved the performance and how they included the tech team on stage for their last song to just rave and party it out. I honestly felt like I was clubbing with the whole crew ahaha was completely rad! Mind me I was only getting started lol and the drinks could of been cheaper for a ladies night or something rad aha. Preceded by four spectacular opening bands, We the Kings put on an AMAZING show to bring the Summer to a close on Pittsburgh's North Shore (Stage AE). Summerfest 2013 did not disappoint. It was an indoor summer party, complete with beach balls. Highlights included "date with Travis" during the song Friday is forever, where a lucky fan in the front row got to be wooed through song; busting up a camping trip to cover songs; and potential fan video for an upcoming music video to the song Any Other Way. Fans of the YouTube Channel http://www.youtube.com/ctfxc got to see Charles Trippy play bass and interact with his "Family Core" donning their "Internet Killed Television" apparel as well. One fan in particular got a video on their iphone shot by Trippy himself. There was a specialized meet & greet after the event as well.

Got to see 5 bands play for a great price ($25)!! The energy from the bands and the crowd made it unforgettable. :D First was a band called Keep it Cute (look em up!) that opened the show and then The Ready Set performed (much fun!). After that T Mills performed (not my kind of music, but the bass was awesome throughout his performance!) Then Breathe Carolina played (really great in concert! Had a pop/techno/screamo thing going on!) They even did crowd surfing! Last but not least, We the Kings!! One word: Awesome. Great songs, great audience interaction and Travis the lead singer, was hilarious when he talked to the audience! One of my favorite concerts as of yet!

Wow, where can I even start? I've been to many concerts, and this concert, by far, will be one I'll never forget. It rained throughout over half of the concert, but trust me, no one in the audience even cared. Once the bands were on stage, I couldn't even tell it was raining anymore I was so involved. The Summer Set I was very impressed with, having only heard their song "Love Like Woe". When they played, it looked as if they'd been playing with each other from the womb. They defintely knew what they were doing, and it showed. A Rocket to the Moon...well, I'm a little biased since they're my favorite band, but as always, they didn't disappoint! Thanks to Kiss 106.1, their music is played a lot and I think they were surprised by the number of fans they had in the audience. But Nick Santino was spot on and I just love each band member and their presence on stage. Even after they were done, I was wishing they could have played more songs. Forever the Sickest Kids were hilarious, and entertaining as usual! Jonathan was all over the place from swinging his mic around, making faces and interacting with the audience, and Hunter even did a little rap number which was awesome since we don't always get to see that. They were by far the most energetic of the four bands and definitely interacted with the fans more during their set. We The Kings...how can anyone ever have something negative to say about them? Travis' acoustic set of "All Again For You" was absolutely beautiful...it was raining, of course, and that only made it that much more wonderful. I was happy that they also played Jimmy Eat World's cover of "The Middle"...it seems to be a fan favorite and gets the crowd going every time. The great thing about We The Kings is that all of the band members are so involved...you aren't focusing on just Travis, but the rest of the band as well. Overall, I will never forget this concert, and I feel sorry for everyone who wasn't there. Yes, it was raining, but again, at one point when the bands started playing...you just stopped caring about the rain and I honestly didn't even notice it anymore. It only made the whole experience that much more amazing. How many times can you say that you've seen your favorite band playing IN THE RAIN?

First I heard of We the Kings was from my daughter. I took her last night and not only was the show amazing but she got to meet and greet the band members. It was awesome because Trav was like, "Whoa" when she was walking up and said he liked her. He gave her his guitar pic and wrote I heart (drew a heart) you..and a smiley face! and signed Trav. Plus the band members signed her sneaker..she is still love struck!!!! Very amazing and unforgetable night! Oh, they also commented on her hug how she gave a really good one. Thanks, guys! Opening with Stereo Skyline and Artist vs. Poet, amazing music and great energy! It was pretty good for being my first concert. Small crowd from what I expected. It was easy to push up through the crowd to get a good spot. All the bands were terrific. MAYDAY PARADE AND WE THE KINGS ESPECIALLY!!! Security was jerk-ish and yelled at some guy for pushing people around but everyone was pushing everyone. Crowd was mostly youngsters. Like Pre-teens. Sorta felt out of my element. LOL. Most people were polite, others not so much. Some girl was like resting her hand on my shoulder... Weird... This guy had a turtle shell backpack and it kept hitting me in the face. lol. I mean really... Did you need to bring that in??? But yes amazing!! Couldn't hear after it.

The Brighton Music Hall was a great place to see We the Kings. The relatively small hall makes it easy for everyone to see the band playing. The band was great and played for an extra 45 min. Overall a great experience, We the Kings is always great live!

I went to see this band at the Brighton Music Hall. The band had 3 opening acts, which I thought was a slight overkill. I bought the early entry VIP package so I was standing from 5PM until at least 9PM when WTK actually starting playing. I was slightly miserable from standing for so long. I also feel they should upgrade to a larger venue. I'm not sure if it was the tech guy or what, but the bass was absolutely too strong for me and set off some anxiety. If you don't suffer with that though, I'm sure the bass was perfect!

I have never been to a more perfect concert. The venue was magnificent because you could see the band from anywhere with a great view. We The Kings rocked it hard and I will never forget it. I was in the verge of crying tears of pure happiness the whole night. They need to come back NOW!

Starting with Like the Movies and ending with We the Kings it was a great night. Got a little "iffy" in the middle when T Mills came out with vulgar and suggestive language. Saw some parents take their kids out. Wouldn't recommend young kids (mine was 13) going as long at T Mills is involved. Even the staff of the HOB seemed shocked by T Mills. I took my daughter out onto the smoking porch during T Mills.

So, full disclosure, I didn't stay for We the Kings. And I didn't really know the other bands except for Breathe Carolina who I saw two years ago at Rocketown. I only started listening to the others about a week before the show. The first band was really impressive, I think it was like Like the Movies or something like that... really good for an opener. The Ready Set put on a fantastic show! So much fun! Great performer. David from Breathe Carolina hopped on stage for a song too so it was good fun. Keep in mind that this was the last night of the tour so they were going all out. T. Mills was so amazing! He puts on a great great show, and I don't even listen to rap. I totally fell in love with his music though purely based on his performance. Breathe Carolina was kick ass, as always. This is even more impressive considering that David had lost his voice really, and Kyle was gone to take care of family issues. Even with these potential problems it was an amazing performance, they didn't let us down. I was so tired from going hard to T. Mills and Breathe Carolina that I left before We The Kings got on stage, but I'm sure they rocked it too.

Breathe Carolina was freaking great even though kyle wasnt there. felt like i was at an awesome party where i knew all the songs lol. I enjoyed the show up until We the Kings came on, they got boring really fast and I was quickly surrounded by love songs and couples making out. So basically if you're like me and don't like excessive PDA, look for something a bit heavier like MMF or Miss May I

This show was one of the best ones I've been too! We The kings was such an enjoyable band to watch from their first song to their encore, I really really didn't want it to end! Such stage presence is really hard to come by! Although one of the members of Breathe Carolina was sick and unable to attend, the other member along with help from the other touring bands (The Ready Set- also amazing!) pitched in and helped out to cover the vocals! breathe Carolina's set still managed to be a great one!

It was just full of energy and the band was amazing, they really connected with the audience and the support bands really pumped up the audience. I would defiantly recommend seeing the band and coming all the way from England was worth it!

This was seriously the best concert that I have ever been to. The crowd was so hyped up and the bands just brought the energy out of us. By the end of the night my hair was a mess, I had no voice, and I could barely walk. That's when you know it was a great time!

Like the Movies, The Ready Set, T.Mills, and Breathe Carolina were all fantastic. But then we waited for an hour for We The Kings to put up their set and they weren't even that great.

I had never heard this band's music. Took my daughter & I have to say I was very impressed w/their performance, music, talent & enthusiasm. I've been listening to them on Pandora since the show. Always good to discover new music. Other bands with them were also great - "The Ready Set" & "Like the Movies"

All the bands were great with the exception of T-Mills. I was thoroughly disgusted with his performance. I was there with my 13 1/2 year old daughter and his lyrics were totally unacceptable for the age group in the audience. We the Kings - Great, Breathe Carolina - Great, The Ready Set - Great, At the Movies - Great The Norva is a great small venue that allows kids to get near the stage for the ultimate concert experience.
