Family friendly, child interactive, approachable players, awesome, lovable mascot. The positive energy here and at this game is great. My DD's first hockey game and she is now a fan. :-) She is a pretty persistent person, so I doubt I'd be able to get away with not taking her to another game. That is how well the game went. #stocktonheat

We were looking forward to this game and found the rain on the first day just part of the outdoor hockey experience. The fogged glass made us feel that something fun was happening, but we were not allowed to watch it. Minor changes could have made this game much better. The glass was fogged for most of the game. More propane heaters would have solved this. There was not a hockey score board. It seems like renting one should be pretty simple an inexpensive. You could not hear the whistle or any sound from the rink. A mic on at rink level would have enhanced the experience. Ticket price for too high for the quality of the event. Not likely to do that again.

Hopefully others will learn from this debacle that playing hockey outdoors in the cold and rain is one thing but watching it is something quite different. The glass around the rink fogged up and no one could see what was happening on the ice. Watching a number of heads circle the ice was no fun at all. It was a complete waste of time and money. What a shame, because I was really looking forward to the game.

Being rained out of the Friday night game was not a big deal, but not being able to watch the game on Saturday was a let down. I sat in Section 120 (row 8), an ideal mid-ring view, but with the 4 ft retainer walls, VIP seating blocking view near the ring and the fogged up glass, my best view of the game was on the big screen up above. It was disappointing that the staff didn't even make an effort to clean the glass, so spectators could enjoy the game. The puck was not visible most of the game, so the occasional players smashing up against the glass was the only action I could see. Goals were best viewed on replay. I think the only people who may have been able to enjoy the game in this venue were in the suites above. I would not purchase tickets for hockey at Raley field again. It was a waste of $150 for two seats.

love the idea, like what the NHL does on MLB fields. First night game should of been called due to rain. Instead drive there, over an hour away, park. Game postponed, so standing in rain to only find out game had been canceled for the night. They decide to start at 4:30 pm, so we miss first period, due my sons baseball tournament. Once we get there people sitting in our seats, but stadium mostly empty at start of second period. Glass around rink so fogged up could not see the players on the ice. We walked around park, love Raley Field. Weather turned out to be great that night. Despite all the issues, I was excited to be there. My 13 year old son enjoyed it to. First hockey game we have been too. Other fans were very friendly, telling about the league and their team.I would go ago, hoping for better weather and clear glass. could be a 5 star event next year!!

The idea of attending an outdoor hockey game sounded so exciting. Too bad it did not live up to it. So many things were bad- from the food to the game itself. To start with, we got 2 mini round table pizza's and one order of garlic fries. The garlic fries were ice cold- although she said they just came out. So those were inedible. Our pizzas were overcooked, dry, and hard. I'm pretty sure they cooked those the night before (when the game was originally scheduled), so $30 worth of food down the drain. Another sore point was the fact that they took so long to post-pone the game until the next day. Clearly all weather reports were showing rain during the ENTIRE game....not sure why they waited so long to call that one. Finally, and the worst part, you couldn't actually see the hockey game being played. Our seats were fine. The plastic/glass partitions surrounded the rink were so fogged up for most of the game....forgetting about watching it. You could see images of players moving around but forget about seeing a puck or anyone scoring. This event was poorly planned and executed.

Total waste of money. Could not see game since the rink sides fogged up. I bought 7 of the more expensive tickets. Not everyone could come to reschedule time, so was out that money. We ended moving so we could see more of the rink. I stood so I could see 3/4 of rink. Again, waste of money!

I know that this was the first outdoor event in the region, but there are some major issues to address if the event is to be held again. First and foremost, ticket prices- parking were priced too high. Secondly, they should have listed to the weather forecasters and cancelled the event on Sat. It meant those of us who purchased the Legacy Club add-on got our meal Sat. night, but they offered us nothing Sunday. You had to walk down stairs to the regular food locations to get something to eat. Additionally, the bar upstairs was our of over half the draft beers the second day, because they did not re-stock. The worst problem came as the game played on. The plexi-glass around the rink fogged up terribly. Even though, we were seated pretty high, we could not even see one of the goals that was scored. We missed a lot of the action on the ice. I noticed many people resorted to watching the game on the various tv monitors. We didn't spend all that money to watch a hockey game on a video screen.

I'm not sure who thought this event was a good idea, but rain is rather predictable in December! We drove 1.5 hours, paid $20 for parking and $50 each for tickets, only to get out of the car and be told that the game was cancelled. We were able to attend the rescheduled game the following day but it was a waste of time because the glass was so fogged over that we couldn't see anything - at all!

I was glad the game postponed til the next day. I should have gotten seats farther up. Couldn't follow the puck. The glass fogged up and couldn't see the play anyway. They needed more heaters around the glass to keep the glass clear. Followed play on the tv, not why I came. Good venue apart from the views.

When tickets first went on sale there was a rink layout on Ticketmaster that showed the rink going across the field, with end zones stretching from the 1st and 3rd base foul poles. I bought tickets based upon this layout. Apparently the layout was changed at some point with the rink stretching from home plate toward centerfield; not the layout I purchased tickets for, and sight-lines not as good. Did the best you could do with the weather (rain), but should have been able to anticipate the fogged glass problem and been able to deal with it. If you were in a Suite you could see over the top of the glass and see much of the game. The majority of the spectators were unable to see any of the game.

The outdoor venue could have been wonderful here in Sacramento. ... Had the arena been built to accommodate the sport. The glass completely frosted over making any visibility impossible. My 3 rd row seats were useless. Ended up standing on concourse to try and see. Very very disappointing. The ticket prices were also ridiculous for what we ended up getting. I would have brought the family if the prices were decent. Overall very very dissatisfied.

Had front row seats but all that meant was our view was blocked by all the photographers and VIP people on stools. Then the glass fogged so couldn't see anything. Moved to higher seats but still couldn't see. Left in the second period. Only good thing is that one of the workers was nice enough to give my son a puck that came over the glass. My son was very excited.

A poorly orchestrated sporting event by all involved. Friday rainout should not have been held. Rain clearly on the way. But the concessions did very well. Bought $75 seats and couldn't see pick on ice. Food absolutely pathetic. Parking $20! My last visit to Raley field.

I know you can't do anything about the weather but they knew it was going to rain but still had fans come to the game just to postpone the game a hour or later til Saturday. We came back on Saturday and found some of the vendors had not came back on Saturday. Parking was free as long as you had your parking stub from the night before. Now for the game. It could have been an awesome experience if I could have seen the game. The glass was all fogged over and couldn't see the players. There's nothing like spending almost $300 dollars to watch the game on the jumbo screen. Also they changed the layout of the rink compared to what ticket master was displaying when I bought the tickets. They should have planned better.

The Stockton Heat hockey game was fun. Great music, good action. The stadium needs kid activities though, like shooting or being a goalie. But, the chuck a puck is easier now, no writing your name and the drinks have caps now, so the kids don't spill them so easily. :-)

This was the inaugural game for the Stockton Heat. Being a long time Blackhawks fan I was there to see the IceHogs & the future Hawks players. Stockton Arena is a nice little arena, well maintained & easy to get to. Plenty of parking available. Staff was friendly, food was typical arena food (along with typical arena prices). Love hockey, & even though game didn't go my way, it was still a great time.

Went to my first live Hockey game and I was very surprised. The Heat is Calgary Flames minor league team and they are really fun to watch. They won too, by 4 i think!!! The venue is brand new looking and really big inside. The sound system rocks with big Jumbo Trons on all four sides. 1$ hotdog night made it even better!! All in all, I will be going again very soon! Enjoy

There was hardly anyone there. We had 4 boys ages 9-11 who danced and clapped at every break and never once got on the screen. The super heroes didn't come into or near the crowd once the game started. There could be so much more done to create an interactive experience.

Took the family to a hockey playoff game between the Stockton Heat and San Jose Barracuda. It was hard to enjoy the game when the Stockton Heat fans cuss at you,put signs in your face and wave their rally towels hitting you in the head and face. The arena needs some help. The floors are sticky and several seat are broken. It use to be a nice place to watch hockey but that must of left when the Stockton Thunder moved. Sad to see that has happened.

One of the best hockey games my son and I have ever watched in Stockton! Lots of action and LOTS of fighting! This game is the way ALL hockey games should be played. Too bad the Heat lost. The Stockton Arena needs to have better food options. Both my son and I don't eat meat so the veggie options and food quality are poor. We have been going to watch the games at the arena for many years and the food hasn't improved much. How about looking into that?

This is my first year attending Heat games, and I have enjoyed myself thoroughly at each of them (I've gone to about four or five now). It seems like almost every night they are offering a giveaway, and this night was no different. The first 1000 fans received a replica Heat jersey. It was Faith night, and a local Christian band performed during intermission and after the game. Fans could meet some of the players at the post-game concert, or at the nearby hotel, all for free. The players were really nice, and it was a great experience overall. Considering my tickets cost roughly $60 total (bought two, right on the glass), I feel I got a lot of bang for my buck. I've already bought season tickets for next year just for this reason. Go, Heat, go!

The seats were good and the game was exciting. We were having a great time, and had a bunch of empty seats around us as we were 2nd row behind the player bench. Then came 3rd period when people decided to change seats and move down closer. Surrounding us. Little kids, fine. But obnoxious adults - not fine. Also the ushers were completely worthless. The place would be better off without them. The fans who were already seated were more helpful than the ushers. One lead us to 3 incorrect seats before finally finding where our seats were located.

We sat in the accessible seats and everyone who worked in the area was friendly and enthusiastic. Our seats were better than I thought comparing them to other arena.. they were a bargain for the price. Problems: we were told the elevator was out of service and we had to walk around the entire arena pushing my son's wheelchair through lots of young kids..not fun. I was a little shocked this wasn dealt with earlier in the day anticipating the game that night. WHEN leaving after game we were told to grab a free give away BUT the man giving them away was very rude saying why do you get one..I only have three left. The place was empty of all fans. I told him it's a promotion and I was told to come to him and Yes he was very mad shaking his head. I guess he was wanting them for himself. Other than that the players were awesome food great too.

It was my first time to a Stockton Heat game. And it was my daughter's first time to a hockey game ever. I was not sure what to expect of the quality of play in the AHL. While watching the teams warmup, I thought that there was some pretty good talent on the ice. I thought the overall play and skills shown during the game was NHL like. The game was not played as physically as the NHL level and a few players were not as skilled as others, but hey, these are farm teams. I am very happy we went to watch the game. Will try to get to another game before the season ends.

As a recent east coast transplant to Sacramento, I was thrilled to find out about the Golden State Hockey Rush game. I purchased tickets (~$70) and chose to go to this game (although I'm unfamiliar with the AHL teams) rather than travel to San Jose to see an NHL game. Despite the game being rescheduled due to rain, the atmosphere was fun. A lot of fans showed up in jerseys representing their favorite or home town teams, and this was one of the best parts of the game - true hockey fans in Sacramento showing up for the game! It was great talking to and meeting new people. Our seats were in a great section - 106. However, once the game started, the plexiglass began to fog up. It was so foggy, it was difficult to see the action on the ice...at one point, the Condor's goalie was barely recognizable in his white sweater. We ditched our expensive seats and stood on the concourse for the 2nd and 3rd period...and even this provided limited views of the game. It was very disappointing to spend this much money on a ticket with what should have been a great view, to not be able to see much of the game. I'm guessing the plexiglass wasn't properly treated with anti fog chemicals before the game. And the attempts to clear the fog during the game didn't work (heat lamps...seriously??? and the results of scraping the glass at intermission didn't last long). I hope there are more hockey games in Sacramento in the future - attending an outdoor game was certainly a treat. But it seemed that the organizers weren't prepared or poorly executed how to handle plexiglass fog, and that made the game a disappointment.
