I love Fred, I love Portlandia. His humor and wit, as he points out the simplest aspects of everyday life stays with me and makes me LOL days later. I really wish I was friends with him, or at least someone just like him.

When I heard Fred was coming to Vancouver I was quick to buy tickets. I wish I had read the reviews first. I love Fred, he is so talented, however the show is hardly worth paying for. The opening comic was hilarious. The first 8 minutes or so of Fred's act was hilarious. Then it went downhill fast. When the audience Q&A began I left knowing there was no coming back from that. It was like being at a Star Trek convention- get me the hell outta here. Bye!

I'm usually not one for writing bad reviews, but sadly, I was disappointed. Missing Fred's spontaneous humor on Seth Meyer as he is rarely there anymore, I was quick to say yes when a friend suggested this show. I was expecting to see pure Fred unplugged with a night of standup comedy or at the least, improv which he does so well. Instead the whole show seemed like filler: guest comedian, multiple bands which weren't really my cup of tea, promotional videos, and a Q&A which was more informative than funny. I'm thinking Fred agreed to do the show but didn't have time to create content so he put this together. While I can appreciate that he is a busy guy, it is unfortunately not what was expected when paying good money for these tickets. We still love you Fred, but I hope there is another opportunity to get my fill!

The best part of the show was the first 15 minutes when he was talking about different types of music, and why he doesn't like jazz. Was boring to see him play music, and it really dragged on in the end with a long Q&A. His guest comedian was almost funny, but not quite.

I was really excited to see Armisen. I think he's hysterical. Except the show on Friday Nov 4th at the Town Hall in NYC was barely a comedy show at all. What it was was about 70% mediocre music, 15% videos with some comedy sprinkled in. If I was planning to see music in NYC on a Friday night, Fred Armisen wouldn't have even entered my mind. Boo on you Fred. I was so starved for comedy that I went to a comedy showcase in the Village later that night and saw 6 starving comics all funnier than Armisen.

Armisen was my favourite cast member in SNL. But his solo show is improvised (as in unprepared), unfunny and clueless. A huge deception!

He made us laugh during a political week when nothing seemed very funny! LOVED that part. Just wish he hadn't made us suffer through the punk rock band performances. That is not what I signed up for.

Such a pleasure to see Fred Armisen at the NYC Comedy festival. I expected him to be funny, which of course he was, but also was a supremely generous and collaborative artist who shared the stage with other comedians and musicians both live and in film clips creating a truly memorable night. As a fan, it meant so much that he clearly put tremendous thought into his show and it was a night I won't soon forget

Look, I love Fred. He's one of my favorite SNL cast members ever and what he and Carrie do @ Portlandia is genius. And I think MOST of what he does is genius. I looked forward to his show for a long time and really *reallyyyyy* wanted to love his standup - the only issue is, it's not standup. It's not even comedy, and Fred admitted that himself in the show. If you go to Fred's show not expecting to do much laughing, then you may actually enjoy it. I'm not trying to be snarky or overly-opinionated, that's just true. For a comedy routine, there was very little laughing from most of the audience through most of the show. And Fred seems totally okay with that. He spoke a lot about obscure punk bands and NYC record stores from the 80's. He also brought out a couple of his 80's underground punk idols to play some songs with. He invited another emerging comic to the stage, he played some Portlandia sketches from the upcoming season, and he opened up the stage to Q&A at the end. The funniest bits of the show were the Portlandia pieces, by far, and were one of the few times the whole audience belly laughed. But the truth is we don't need to pay $70 a ticket to see Portlandia skits, we're going to see those for free in a couple months when they air on TV. If this show hadn't been part of the NYC Comedy Festival and had just been called 'Fred Armisen lives out non-funny fantasies' I could have completely gotten on board. I wouldn't have had high hopes for top-notch comedy. I appreciate that Fred was trying to be different with his show and I do think he put a lot of effort into it (despite showing clips and filling time with a Q&A) I just wish he would have focused that energy into making it funny. I still love Fred and will continue to be a big fan of his work, I just won't be buying another ticket to his standup.

Funny,Genuine, musically talented! He picked amazing musicians and artist to play with. He was incredibly interactive with the audience. You could tell he honestly just wanted everyone to have a good time and enjoy themselves. And it was, and we did! Honestly, the show was like, if Fred Armisen had a show...that's what it was like! Really fun! Really Cool! And really unique! A good time? YES! Again! Again!

This guy gets up, plays songs with bands I've never heard of, makes you watch clips of his show, does 'drummer impressions' of drummers and band I've never heard of, makes us watch clips of his 'top 5 favorite bassists' and then calls one out to play the basslines of songs I have never heard. Even assuming that I had heard of these drummers, bands, and bassists (and I am sure some people had), I think it's safe to say most people showed up expecting a comedy show. Maybe it turned into that, I don't know. I walked out when the bassist from the Bow Wow Wow's was called out to play basslines by himself. Very disappointed. It's like he did a show for his teenage self, but with a paying audience. I see lots of shows, and I go out with a good attitude trying to have fun. I'm not trashing him because I am picky or some self-styled critic. I just think this was a total slap in the face.

Fred was great. He's hilarious, and he's so musically talented! Also, he was great about taking questions from the audience and really interacting with everyone. He has such an odd sense of humor- it was wonderful!!
