U2

Few bands in rock music history have reached the level of superstardom (and have maintained the staying power) of Dublin-based band U2. Due to a winning combination of innovative, ever-evolving songwriting, spectacular live shows, and front-man Bono's penchant for political/humanitarian endeavors, U2 have managed to remain an A-list act since emerging onto the music scene with their debut album Boy in 1980. With phenomenal album sales (every album they've released since 1987's The Joshua Tree has hit Billboard's number one spot), a plethora of hit singles ("New Years Day, " "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "Pride," "I Still haven't Found What I'm looking For," "With or Without You," "Mysterious Ways," Beautiful Day," -- and the list goes on) U2 have established themselves as the premier rock band of the 1980s and far beyond. Their sound has evolved from post-punk (guitarist The Edge created a signature sound with his sweeping, delay-heavy guitar work), to arena rock, to blues-inspired rock, to electronic/techno pop and back again.

This was the 31st time I have seen them (been seeing them since the early 80 s) and while the price of tickets is significantly more than the $25 I paid the first time I saw them it is still worth every penny! These guys still enjoy being on stage and always make you feel like they re playing a small club and not a big arena. The music is great and with a catalog spanning 40 years they obviously can t play all your favorites but you won t mind! As long as they keep playing I will keep going to see them.

That show was great. The venue is even better. Only seats around 10,000 so you are very close no matter where you sit. Disappointed in the encore. Too low key should've pumped up the crowd a bit

FANTASTIC!!! Don't think there coule be a bad seat in the house - they really played in the round, and with the huge round screen over the stage - even the highest, fartheet seats could see everything. They're a band not to be missed.

I've seen U2 four times now in concert. This particular show was definitely one of the best! The stage setup is like nothing I have EVER seen. Even though the band is so incredibly talented they don't need a high tech show, they produced one nevertheless. Bono was wonderful about personalizing the show for a massive Chicago audience. They played a great mix of songs from their most recent CD and older favorites. The price was rather steep, but in my opinion completely worth it!

The sound off to the side of the stage at least, sucked. The claw was ugly, and other than the video aspect, did nothing to make me feel more connected to the band. I saw the Vertigo tour and thought that show was much better, Heavy play from the sup-par "No Line on the Horizon" didn't help the show either. Overall, I was quite disappointed

They were amazing, the tickets were a bit expensive, but at least they sent you a copy of their new CD. The wall show was awesome for the first 10 minutes before my phone got to hot to keep using their app, so missed out on the special effects. U2 ROCKED this small venue (~10K seats) and managed to not blow the roof off. I think the venue was too small to generate the fan energy that is apparent at other U2 shows and is responsible for that unique "U2 experience." If you've never seen U2 before, you won't be disappointed. These guys know how to put on a show and you'll come away with an appreciation of why they are one of, if not THE, biggest rock acts on the planet. A lot of people were complaining about distorted audio but I can tell you that the sound was completely clear and sounded great. Of course, you're only going to get this if you wear ear plugs, which I was. The great thing about Mohegan Sun is that there really aren't any bad seats. To all the people complaining about too much technology- get over yourselves. U2 is trying to keep themselves relevant and their shows entertaining. From a pure innovative entertainment perspective, you'd be hard pressed to find any band out doing what U2 is doing. And if you actually like U2's music, what more can you ask for?

The prudential is s great venue for concerts. And U2 would have been great there if only they d listened better to their fans desires U2 played the majority of songs from their last 2 CDs - while the fans don t mind hearing some songs from these 2 CDs - they would have preferred a better mix of hits from other CDs. U2 may be sick of playing songs from the Joshua tree after playing it in its entirety last year but many fans didn t see those shows and would have loved to hear some of the great songs off that CD. Unfortunately U2 has tied all the songs played into their theatrical display - giving them no room for flexibility They are one of the greatest bands and don t need all the theatrics - the case where less is more This was my 5th U2 show since the early 80s and was the least memorable and most disappointing

I ve been fortunate to have seen U2 numerous times over the course of their career dating back to the the early 80 s. Not only have I never been disappointed by a performance, I m always impressed by their drive to push the boundaries in keeping relevant with their music and technology when presenting it live to their fans. This current tour is no different. It has everything you d expect from U2. Visually stimulating, audience interaction, perfect sound quality, all executed to perfection by a seasoned, world traveled, Irish rock and roll band that s at the top of their game all these years later. The only disappointment you could walk away with is their catelog of music is so huge now, there s going to be a song you d wish they played.

U2 concerts are always an amazing spectacle ! A rockin rhythmic performance of technicolor lights & innovative technology. But as much as I appreciate the bands support for women, I wish they'd stick to singing the songs and not overwhelm the performance with political agenda by interrupting songs to deliver a speech and changing lyrics. Enough Bono. The show has a somber tone compared to previous concerts. Sunday Bloody Sunday needed elevation! Overall, it was a great show.

There was so much emphasis placed on the visual effects in the concert, between the giant screens and the movement of the band during the night. There was even an app for visual effects! Unfortunately I could enjoy none of it. I paid full price for tickets that should have been sold as obstructed view. The girders from the stage blocked the entire screen as as the walkway where the band spent much of there time. Furthermore, due to seat positioning, as soon as the people in front of me stood, I could see 0% of any stage, even when standing at the edge myself. A waste of money, could have just listened to the cd.

U2 gets older, I get older, we all get older - except maybe not Mick & Keith - we slow down, get mellow or chill. That could be it. But I don t think so. Not these lads. They re Irish, with scrappy pasts and lived through The Troubles, endured (staying relevant!) in the mad business of rock and roll and survived their own troubles along the way while taking on global causes and having an impact in the world. They could rest easy if they wanted to but they never choose to do so, they re none of them made that way. And yet this concert, and to some extent the Anniversary Joshua Tree tour last year felt quite subdued compared to the concerts that I ve been to the last two decades (lost count how many) which were always so off the hook and firing on every channel it s impossible not to notice the difference now. There were still moments of euphoric high energy in the show but, where that generally would last the entire show in the past, it was more measured in this show. But, the crowd at MSG was too. Normally, an MSG crowd is similarly off the hook, super charged and no doubt the band and crowd would feed off each other through all these performances over the years. Bono always mentioned the special affinity the band had for NYC as a home base of sorts since some of them had homes in town and the band played small venues here in their early years, made records here etc. I ve watched video of shows in other places; Bono does local shoutouts of course, but it s never like what he would say to us in NYC. At times, the Garden (or even Giants stadium in the Meadowlands) actually shook (granted it probably needed refurbishing that it now has undergone) but I ve been to lots of shows there - doesn t happen much like that. Anyway, with the crowd and band collectively seeming sort of just blah, I thought about it and can only attribute it to what s going on in the world. Just too much. The USA has woes, Ireland has them (their peace at risk due to Brexit) and the effects of the constant news cycles. Although music tends to be the greatest escape, those who know U2 shows know that the band embraces difficult issues and often incorporates them into their show

I saw a version of this concert in both Boston and NYC and both were very good, as good thematically as any of the many U2 concerts I ve seen in the past. HOWEVER having said that, I also recognized a extreme difference in the feel of this one from all of the others. The eXPERIENCE concert has the feeling of \u2018goodbye to it. Let me try to explain this feeling more. During and after all other concerts I felt envigorated and wanting to sing and dance more; but during and after this one I felt a finality, a sense of impending loss. Could they be trying to tell us that this is their last tour?! I sure hope not, but that is the feeling I m left with. Maybe this is the eperience they speak of.

We had seats in the loge, left rear stage corner, the closest we've ever been to the band. Edge even visited our corner twice during the show! The giant screen of the Innocence tour is back and even more amazing. The boys spent some time in the giant screen and on the small stage at the other end of the Garden. Lots of pro equality and pro humanity messages throughout, and Pride was another amazing performance, as usual. The *only* downside to the entire concert was the very low key way it ended. I adore U2. This was my third U2 concert. The technical side of the show set a new standard- it was brilliant. The old songs were amazing. But Bono s constant badgering of America vs Trump and his administration were exhausting. I went to the concert to get away from the craziness and enjoy. Although the acoustics at Capital One Arena made it difficult at times to understand clearly when Bono was speaking, this was a great show. Not everyone in the predominantly Caucasian audience was comfortable (apparently some even booed) when Bono talked about compromise and human rights. I saw some subdued fans who obviously didn't agree with Bono's politics and seemed to be squirming in their seats. Hopefully they will have food for thought after the concert.

It was my 6th time seeing them since starting with The Joshua Tree Tour in '87...but the 1st time in an arena. The stage presentation and sound quality was top-notch. I was very fortunate to catch last years Joshua Tree tour in Vancouver and DC. Got to be honest...that set list was better for me. I think 8 songs off a new album is a tad much....even for U2...especially at those ticket prices. However, I do understand that it is called the #U2eiTour for a reason.

This was my 7th U2 concert and it was a great time as always. They played a variety of songs from their repertoire, featuring their new Innocence and Experience material the most. I must confess I like the older more vigorous music better, but at this point in their careers I can see why they like to not just play the same old stuff all the time. They did a bit of an introspective history of the band playing music from the various phases/eras. It was good but not as good as the 90s and 2000s, or as good as the Joshua Tree 30th anniversary concert tour last year.

This is hands down one of the best concerts I have been to. The full show with all the visuals was stunning, I expected nothing less. While this wasn't my first show, it was my huband's and he was in awe. Ready and waiting for the next tour!!!

The next level tech in the staging of this show was exceptional. There was not a bad seat in the house\u2014everyone could see and hear every moment. The positive energy was overwhelming, and then there was the music. This was my 16th U2 concert, and it was the best!

U2 rocked like always was disappointed in the amount of songs in the set list. they only played 24 in Omaha compared to 26 at most other show. We were hoping they would of played Raised by Wolves and that was one of the songs cut from the set. I am still wondering why the set was short in Omaha. After the show we had 11 different people come up to us and randomly state that this was the worst U2 show they have gone to. I my self wouldn't rate it that bad. The tickets said starts 8 it was after 8:30 when they came for some reason which is fine but they still could of played 25, 26 songs. We paid allot of money for this show and drove 4 hours and get jilted on songs and no Raised by Wolves. I almost believe they didn't like Omaha or something even though Bono's friend Warren Buffet and his daughter are there and has visited a few times for her wedding.

Best show in a long time. Venue was great stage unusual in that screen took up middle of full length of arena but the way they made it work was outstanding. Bono was relaxed and very personal felt like you were in a small club and you got one of a limited number of tickets to get in. Technology was amazing. The band was having fun not just in autopilot like you see many times.

Great music, great show, would have been 5+stars if U2 would have left the politics out of it. I go to a concert for the music, not to hear someone's political view.

U2 gave an awesome performance. It's rare nowadays that a singer sounds live the way they do recorded, but they did not disappoint. The performance isn't just song after song, but truly a story. Not only was there music but narration by Bono as well as walkway-length, double-sided video screens that rarely we're just video of him singing, but artwork as well as the storyboard. The venue, on the other hand, left me disappointed and irritated. Concession lines were ridiculously long, but thankfully bathroom lines weren't. When we arrived at out $300+ seats, we were greeted by handrail that blocked the ENTIRE length of the stage, which ran one end of the arena floor to the other. Picture is included. I would see U2 again, but I doubt I'll be returning to the venue.

U2 continues to amaze and should be considered the best live band ever. Some shows are fun but U2 shows are an experience like no other with a sound, energy and thought provoking dialog than can not be matched. They don't just entertain, they try to harness the energy of the fans to make the world a better place. Keep it going guys!

U2 put on a great show from start to finish by telling a story through their songs. There was a mix of new material, classics and songs that we haven't heard live in a very, very long time. The long screen that moved up and down throughout the night showed images of people and places that were relevant for each song and was very touching at times. The lighting and props were a great addition to the overall set too. Show length was just over 2 hours and I didn't want it to end.

I have seen a ton of shows and U2 goes back to me to the early 80's when I was stationed in Hawaii. I told myself one day I have to see these guys so I bought 2 tickets for my Wife and I. I thought they came on strong playing a couple of my favorite songs but felt the sound was off just slightly and felt their stage show overshadowed their music. Would I see them again? Maybe maybe not but so glad I seen them and like what they stand for.

I've loved this band forever and have been to pretty much every tour but the prices for decent seats are just beyond ridiculous. I took my son for the 2nd time so wanted to make sure we had good seats which we did but I won't do this again. This band always use to be about the fans, lately, it seems it's about gouging the fans. This is why shows are not selling out anymore. Not to mention, I think their older music is much better than their newer music.

My wife loves U2, it was a dream come true to experience seeing them live in concert. I'm not much of a fan, but I was that night. Great performance, our seats row 114, were amazing. The atmosphere and the love for just being human beings was very overwhelming. I got dragged to the concert, but I enjoyed just about every minute of it. No complaints.

A lot of the newer stuff. The past 2 albums have been hard to get into and I m a life long U2 fan. Unsure of a lot of the concept for this show. The 360 tour was amazing. The last tour was good if you were nearly on top of the stage for at least half of it. The long vertical jumbotron that goes up and down, and the band could walk into it. Ummm, ok. Did nothing for me personally. Nice that they went from the one stage to the other and the entire audience got some quality time with them, nowhere where you sat. Better than the last tour, but so not 360, intimacy on a grand scale. The encore was ok but the final song was like, is it over? Ending a show on a somber droning tune? Meh. Some good, some so so, nothing necessarily bad but not up to the 10+ prior shows I ve been to of their s. Curious if there will be more tours. Back to back tours with an album in between?

My girlfriend friend and I really enjoyed watching this amazing show. I really liked how they used the the whole arena by having different stages to play on. Being a musician I was surprised how good they sounded from any place they played at in the venue. All instruments dialed in! It s a musician s dream to do what they do. I also became a fan of their new music. I had to hear it the next day. Can t wait for the next tour. They are still one of the best live shows to go see. Definitely the most creative.

Great show if you look at it as a sequel to 2015 s Innocence/Experience tour and even last year s Joshua Tree anniversary tour. Heavy focus on the new record as well as a healthy acknowledgement of their 90s/2000s output. Some great surprises, including a few nuggets from the 90s either rarely or never played. Good stuff!

`It had been some time since I attended a show at the Forum. I was very pleased with the U2 show. The visual effects were great. The overall atmosphere was electric (as usual). I had a great time. The visual effects ranged from basic lighting changes to large screens with images. They had a nice mix of old and new songs. I was happy to hear Acrobat live. The overall experience was mind-blowing. It is very satisfying to be in a room full of people who are able to share the same experience.

great access, great location, great show. Aside from cost of parking and parking on a dirt lot, everything else was stellar. U2 never disappoints. Being up close is even better. Great show. Must better than the arena events.Sound is better and the smaller venue is better. Looking forward to the next one. I wish I could buy 4 tickets with my pre-sale.

Firstly, in case you may be wondering, there is no opener and they went on about 30 minutes after the showtime on the ticket. The venue wasn't completely full yet (but certainly were by the end). They played 2 1/2 hours! Also, if you're one of those people who like the concert shirt specific to the night you went, they had those too. If you're a large size or bigger, make sure you get there a little early to buy that shirt as many booths sell out of those sizes early. I had to hunt for mine, but did find one. U2 are always great. They never fail to disappoint. Their performance was on fire and the audience drank it up. They sounded awesome. (The Forum is quite possibly, one of the best sounding venues in LA at the moment.) Really, my only complaint was their decision to use essentially the same stage and format they did on the tour for Songs of Innocence. And included nearly the exact performance of Cedarwood Road and Sunday, Bloody Sunday. Was this a dealbreaker? Absolutely not. In fact, I can sort of understand the decision with the most recent album, Songs of Experience, being, at least in title, a companion to Songs of Innocence. So I guess it would make sense that this tour was a companion to the last. Bono even made reference the concept in one of his monologues. The U2 eXPERINECE app was kind of cool, useful only before the show and during the first song. Great concept. Would have liked to see it utilized more throughout the show. I mean, heck, people already have their phones out nearly the entire show these days, why not make it more interactive?!?!

The sound of Deep Bass and Drums, The Edge guitars just electrified the crowd. Bono continues the story telling through his unique style and vocals. The whole show was just amazing, uplifting, electric, and brings in the crowd like a musical magnate. Amazing!
