Green Day
With the release of their major-label debut, Dookie, Green Day quickly became one of the leading punk/alternative bands of the '90s, winning a GRAMMY Award® for Best Alternative Music Performance in 1994 and selling millions of albums internationally. Formed in northern California in the late '80s, Green Day's music combines '70s-style punk with catchy lyrics and pop. The group consists of singer/guitar player Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tre Cool. Other Green Day albums include 1995's Insomniac, 1997's Nimrod, 2000's Warning and the critically acclaimed American Idiot in 2004.

This was my first Green Day concert ever, and it was on my birthday. It was the best night of my life. I can't wait for them to go on tour again. They really "connected" with the crowd. Staff was nice. Lines weren t bad at all. Opening act was awesome! I was a Catfish and The Bottlemen fan beforehand. Green Day was amazing!!! I ve waited my whole life to see them and it was a dream come true. Truly entertaining as hell.

As always Green Day put on an amazing show! Couldn't have sounded better - set list was great, and the energy from the stage to the crowd was awesome :) This was the first time I splurged for a VIP experience - was a bit disappointing. Overall communication could have been improved - the VIP area could have been made available for a longer period - merch could have been distributed at the end. All of these things wouldn't have cost anything. And when you spend $450 per ticket, you might expect an experience to be more special and memorable. I just don't feel much effort was made to make this a true VIP experience.

This was my first Green Day concert and I will never forget it. The effects were amazing and it was really cool how Billy Joe kept bringing people up on stage. The music was so much better live. They played all my favorite songs and saved my absolute favorite song last(Good Riddance Time of your life). Billy Joe was really funny and made me laugh a lot. And the effects and explosions only added to the amazing perfomance. I could feel the heat from my seat(106 row 4). It was the greatest experience of my life and I will never forget this! Thanks so much to everyone who made this possible and to Green Day who put on an indescribable concert!

I have been to many concerts in my lifetime, including the ever so famous AC/DC, but never have I seen a band put on such an amazing show! I have been a fan of Green Day for 13 years, and I wasn't disappointed by the playlist, with a perfect mixture of old and new hits. I saw people of ALL ages enjoying this show, and never have I seen a band be so interactive with the audience! Having people on the stage singing, dancing, and playing guitar -This is a must see show!

Green Day managed to put on an awesome stadium show and still make it seem like a very personal experience. They really know how to inolve the fans in the show. It feels as if you are part of the performance rather than with so many other bands that never quite draw you into their world as completely as Green Day does. You can tell they're still having fun on stage after all these years. The stage itself was amazing with tons of video monitors that changed throughout the show portraying at first a cityscape and then evolving into different montages throughout the night. There were plenty of good explosions too. I do love a good explosion. If you get the chance, go see them, they are more than worth the money.

This was an awesome show. The band got the whole audience invovled and pulled people onstage! One fan even got to play a song with Green Day. The backdrop for the stage was great and always something cool was going on. Of course pyrotechnics are always a plus! The mirror ball was cool too :) They played alot of the new stuff but it was great to hear some old stuff too :) Money well spent. Way to kick off the tour!

i just saw green day in seattle wa july 3rd they rocked the house.they are one of the only bands that sound awsome live.they rocked so hard for almost 2 hours.i would love to see then again soon may be vegas.they are the best rock/punk band i have ever seen live.they are one of the best bands of our time.we should all feel very lucky to have them to rock our world.

The Bravery weren't the best opening band but they did the best they could to up their sound to an arena stage. Ultimately I think that they are better served to playing smaller venues. Green Day however blew it up, almost literally. Their set was full of good old songs and hit new songs that the Green Day faithful crowd absolutely loved. Green Day sounded great, had tons of energy, and got the crowd into it. They even had an audience member come up and play guitar on Jesus of Suburbia and this guy played great. The show was amazing and I will tell you that you just have to go see it to know what I mean.

Not only did they play for 2 hours, but when they encored, Billie Joe pulled a kid for the crowd and let him play guitar for Jesus of Suburbia. All in all, I will have to go see them again before the tour is over. If you don't have tickets, get them quick.

I had bought tickets because my 2 kids wanted to see the concert. I went, not really expecting anything more than to just tolerate the 2 hours ... was I ever surprised. Billy Joe was an amazing performer and extremely personalble, the songs were fantastic and I am now a total Green Day fan. Two thumb way, way up!!!

With a great variety of classic tunes, to the latest track off the new album, Green Day knows how to rock the place. Billie Joe pulled at least five people out of the crowd throughout the night to sing along. One lucky fan got to play along with the band while jammin on Billie's guitar! Great interaction with the crowd, well timed pyrotechnics without overdoing it, a solid two hour performance.

I took my 2 older kids. Seth 13 and my daughter Jaye 10. Nothing makes a mom prouder that after I have been listening to you guys for over 17 years, my kids catch on and dig the same band and then BEG to see the band too!! And oh boy, did Green Day deliver. Started off the show with "do you know your enemy!" and it rocked on from there. Billie Joe Armstrong interacted the whole time with the crowd and we ate it up like candy! It was awesome, amazing, fantastic, wonderful, outrageous!!! This was a dream come true on so many, many levels. A night that my family will never forget. Hands down, the best show, punk rock band in the world and performers ever.

I've been waiting to see Green Day for several years, and the wait was well worth it! Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool put on an amazing show at the Rose Bowl...with fireworks, awesome musicianship and the big screens helped! Was hesitant about attending another Rose Bowl performance after the craziness at U2's Joshua Tree anniversary tour ( took us an hour to get out then) but must say no regrets for both shows. Billie Joe is so incredibly energetic and larger than life. His songs really reach out to you and he grabs you by the heart strings. The drums, guitars and lyrics demand the audience to react to the songs. They played most of their best from the span of their 30+ year music career including Holiday, When I Come Around, Blvd of Broken Dreams, Basket Case, Wake Me Up When September Ends and Good Riddance. They truly gave it their all and connected with the fans in an intimate and personal way. The use of phone lighting in lieu of the traditional cigarette lighter was so touching and beautiful. Remarkable evening that will forever be imprinted in my memories!

Parking is horrible at the Rose Bowl. Took us a minimum of 45 minutes to park from exiting the freeway then we had to walk about a mile to the stadium. We arrived right when Green Day started playing. The show was great with some special effects. They had some audience members randomly come on stage and that was a lot of fun. Overall they played a great set. Not sure if I would go to the Rose Bowl again because of the parking issue.

The band was great! The lights and fireworks cool. This was my kids first concert they had a blast. My seats were good but wish i was in the pit. Only thing that killed it was there was a drunk lady behind us and i think her bf was drunk too they kept spilling/splashing beer on us. Don't bring large purse i didn't know.

This was our first Green Day concert - we are thrilled beyond belief that we finally made it to see them; the best concert of the year! (My wife and I go to a lot of shows). If we could give 10 stars we would. The band sounded great! Being that it was the end of the tour, we were concerned about their energy level - but they proved to us and the rest of the crowd that they were still on top of their game. They played to perfection - and, their engagement with the crowd was a great demonstration of how bands should perform. Our only question now is, when is their next tour and will they please come to Santa Barbara, CA?

This review is about the actual concert, not the venue. My first time ever seeing them live. Definitely had a blast! I love the fact that Billie brought a fan on stage on three separate occasions! Shows how appreciative a band can be. Floor tickets are always a plus, and I must admit I was a bit disappointed when they changed it from floor seats to general admission. I am glad they made the change, as I got to interact with other crazy fans. From singing to dancing and just plain having fun. Doesn't get much better than that!

I must say, I did not walk into that stadium expecting as good of a show as I received! All members of the band were quirky, welcoming, and energetic. Billie Joe Armstrong even made it a necessity to bring people up on stage to participate, eventually giving out his guitar to a girl who he'd pulled up to play a song. The concert consisted of pyrotechnics, and overall special effects that weren't expected, but thoroughly enjoyed. In times like these, we need events like this to lift our spirits and remind us of what it means to be alive! Came out a bigger Green Day fan, and with an appreciation of Mike, Tre, and Billie Joe for everything they do!

We took our two and a half year old because the outdoor venue was great, and very kid friendly. He had a blast! He rocked the whole time!! It was an unforgettable time for the whole family. The Wharf has a great amphitheater . it was perfect weather clear and cool around 76 degrees. Catfish and the Bottlemen opened and put on a great show. Then Green Day came out. The show started with full energy and never stopped. The crowd were up dancing and jumping nonstop for 2 hrs. Hit after hit after hit just kept coming new and old alike. Truly the highest energy show since I saw them in New Orleans in' 08 always great. I love these guys.

This was my third time seeing Green Day. I am a 62 year old grandma who still loves to rock and I sure got to do it at this show. Billie Joe sounded better than ever. He is quite a showman. They did a good number of songs from Revolution Radio added with quite a few from American Idiot. Plus some older hits. Great set list over all. The acoustic two song (second) encore was great.

Billy Joe and Green Day put on an awesome fun show! Billy Joe had the entire audience including this 55 yr old rocker jumping and repeating whatever he asked us to do like robots! Great fan interaction including letting two fans up on stage to sing and one old geezer to play guitar (in which he was given the guitar to keep)! Nearly three hours of non stop fun and singing along to modern punk legends! Must see concert! Great stress relief in our troubled world! Loved it!

We've been to way more than our fair share of concerts and this show was by far the best we've ever attended. Green Day played for a full 2 hours and we were on our feet singing and dancing the entire time! This was our 12yr old son's first concert and he had such a great time...would definitely recommend!!

I've seen many bands in my day, but no one puts on a show quite like Green Day! Once again an awesome show. Bringing up members of the audience to sing or play guitar with them is one of the coolest things I've ever seen a band do. You just don't see that in bands these days. If you have never seen them in concert, you are doing yourself a disservice...go see them!

I can finally check off my bucket list! Green Day is as spectacular on the stage as their albums are! Between the laser lighting and the fireworks, combined with the show performance of the entire band, the show was epic!!! I give Billy Joe so much more props for his vocal talent than ever before! I hate that they only had to one date in the Bay Area! I would of attended this concert a few times if there were more Bay Area dates, and the fact that it's just such an epic show! Best concert ever!

Green Day did an excellent job and put on an excellent show. I would have gladly paid the $80 for pavilion seats if ticketmaster would have let me choose my own seats, but instead i was in the lawn. It's still a good show.

I have been a fan of Green Day for over twenty years. This show was my first time seeing them live. It was simply amazing. Their show lasted over two hours and played so many great songs. The set list was filled with songs spanning their thirty year career. Billie had total control of the crowd the entire time. Leading chants, sing a longs and giving it his all. The stage design was great as well. Backdrops would change every so often, large flames and a light show that was insane. I left the show giddy and feeling excited. I hope I have an opportunity to see them perform again sometime. I cannot recommend seeing them enough!

When we found our seats at the Oakland Coliseum we were very disappointed to find that our view was obscured by a tower with speakers located on the baseball field between us and the stage. There was no mention when we bought the tickets that the view would be obstructed and the seats were located almost straight on facing the stage. Fortunately the show was absolutely fantastic and made up for the poor view. Green Day obviously know how to put on a show and had everyone out of their seats from start to finish. They even had people from the audience up to sing some of the songs and one girl even got to play guitar. The whole performance was finished off with a firework display.

Green Day are bona fide Punk ROCK STARS!!! A Epic concert with Rock Star showmen ship!! They will go down in History as one of America's classic bands, and you will want to see a show, to bask in their Punk Rock glory!!!! Super cool, multi cultural, all ages crowd too!!!! Seeing Green Day in their hometown of Oakland was an amazing experience. I'd never been to a show with 22,000 people held at a baseball stadium and I was initially skeptical that they could carry the stage. The openers were solid, the crowd was a good mix of old and new fans, everyone was having a great time, and Green Day held the stage and rocked it for 2.5 hours! Top marks - great show!

This concert was amazing! The energy/vibe was built up higher than usual because it was in Oakland (GD's hometown) and it was truly a concert that I will never forget! BJA kept the crowd going without missing a beat, and even though he forgot the lyrics to a couple of songs, the crowd was forgiving and sang the lyrics for him! The setlist was a good mix of old and new GD songs, and I liked the few partial cover songs they did. Mike was cool as usual and Tre was fun as usual. The fireworks they had at the end of the concert (which they were able to do since it was at the Coliseum) was a very nice touch. I highly recommend this concert for any GD or any punk rock fan!

Green day rocked the house that day. It was a hot day at an open amphitheatre but nobody's feeling the heat from the sun, only the heat from the band :D Must see concert. I wish I was the person who earned a guitar for playing three chords, how awesome is that???? You not only get to play with the band, in the end you get to keep the guitar lucky fella.

Well I had high hopes going to this concert. Have been a Green Day fan since the beginning. My biggest pet peeve is when you go to a concert and they have the audience sing. I paid to see YOU sing! EVERY single hit Green Day song was sung by the audience whether on stage or mic over audience at some point. Honestly it was one of the most boring concerts I have ever been to and I have been to 100's. Top it off I was lucky enough to be surrounded by the most obnoxious people in the world. :(
