The Weeknd
Abel Tesfaye, who performs under the moniker The Weeknd, emerged shouded in mystery in 2012, when he uploaded three tracks to YouTube that picked up near-immediate buzz -- despite the fact that nothing was known about the artist who posted them.The tracks eventually got the attention of fellow Toronto artist Drake, who linked to the songs via his blog. Before the year was out, the songs were getting great write-ups on the music-hipster bible Pitchfork and in The New York Times.The Weeknd followed up the next year with three mixtapes -- House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echos of Silence-- that served to further ramp up his profile.

It was amazing! Of course we wish it was longer, but this is the name of his game. He gives us just enough to keep us yearning for more. The energy in The Fillmore was indescribable. From the crowd, to the sound system, to the atmosphere, to Abel himself. It was just a naturally high experience & even better if you were actually high. lol ... We literally felt the vibrations from the music & his voice in our bodies. Full body orgasm, I promise. This was definitely history in the making.

In a small but cozy venue "The Weeknd" delivers his hits from his Trilogy series. While I was a little upset the concert's run time was slightly over an hour (reason for the 4 star and not 5) it was one of the best shows i've been to. Abel proved any doubt that he could replicate his records live to me.

Abel sounded amazing! The band was tight as hell. Venue was much nicer than expected and the sound was great! Stayed away from the jammed dance floor - chilled back near the bar and had a great view all night and only heard the man on the stage - not all the girls singing along on the dance floor. (watch a youtube video and thats all you can hear... those videos do no justice for the sound of the show!) Money well spent. Glad I was able to attend The Weeknd's FIRST US TOUR!!!

I caught The Weeknd in Ft. Lauderdale on May 1, 2012 at Revolution Live. I got there a little late to his perfomance, time on the tickets said 7pm but everyone knows no concert starts at that time. I got there at 9:15 and he had already been on stage, concert finished at 10 sharp. So I caught a good 40-45 minutes, not sure how much I missed before. Venue was packed and hard to find a good place to see him. He sounds good live, not great IMO and the energy was kind of dull, everyone just standing around watching. From the last 40 minutes I saw he didn't perform many of his "hits" that I was hoping he would sing. Walking out afterward I heard some people saying the same thing, that he didn't perform many hits and their favorite songs, etc but they still loved it. All in all, wish I would have came earlier and caught it from beginning to end. If your a fan of his, definitely go early to the shows.

I've been a fan of The Weeknd since he first dropped his mixtape, House Of Balloons, last year and I can honestly say, IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! :) I've been dying to see him and patiently waiting for him to come to the East Coast and as usual he surprised me and it happened sooner than I expected! His voice sound exactly like I thought it would. Couldn't ask for a better performance! Can't wait to see him again!! :D

I went to the show in Williamsburg Brooklyn, his first concert in NYC. It was truly an amazing show and his voice sounds great live. I wish I could go to the Bowery show as well but tickets aren't available. I would highly recommend watching him live.

I was in the bottom section (19? I think) it was super close as close as I can get without playing 400+ for a ticket. The vibes were great both nights at the barcleys. Most of the songs he performed were from his starboy- think he performed only one or two from his beauty behind the madness album. I love every second of it! Belly was also fking great I LOVED his energy-left barcleys a belly fan.

The Weeknd is incredible live. This is the 2nd time I've seen him in concert and it was even better than the first! He did a lot of tracks off his new album and a couple of older ones - The Hills, Often, his verse on Or Nah, etc. The set was amazing, the lights were dope, and the whole show was super high energy. My friends and I were singing and dancing the entire time. We missed the first two openers but Rae Sremmurd was LIT. You have to see The Weeknd!! Worth every penny.

The weekend concert was amazing it started right at 7:30 and he brought out all kind of guests. The energy from the crowd and the performers was amazing. The concert did not end till like 11. The special effects and the hype was on point. The weekend brought to the mix a lot of new and old songs which made the crowd go wild. Rae sremmurd were mad lit! They did their thing. Great show, as always. Poor seats! So we bought our tickets 6 months in advance, and when the time came we traveled to Atlanta to attend the show. We live in Nashville, which unfortunately, isn't a city he tours, as of now. You can imagine my disappointment when my second row seats gave me a less than desirable view of his back as he performed at the front of the catwalk most of the show. I don't know if this is VIP Nations fault, or the tour designer. I really don't want to think he was aware of the prices people paid to sit in these rows just to turn his back on them. It's done now, but maybe this information will get to someone for the future. The most dedicated fans, which is who VIP nation is trying to appeal to, enjoyed the show from behind it. And for that, I feel cheated.

The Weekend did an amazing performance. I however experienced some rude teenage guest who were drunk and high. They were so drunk and high that while trying to dance they were falling down drunk causing chair to be moved back into our row of seats. I kept having to push them back into place because they could be a safety concer if people needed to get out quickly. It took awhile for the ushers to even approach these teens. They weren't even supposed to be there in the first place.

Check in and security was a breeze at the venue. E-ticket was accepted. The amount of lines for drinks was extremely underwhelming and those bartenders were working way too hard with no actual line. Between opener and actual performance the e-ticket is not acceptable as a form of re entry! EXTREMELY DUMB! I saved a tree by choosing e-ticketing and emailing it to me only to be given a ticket that is my only form of getting back in if I went out to smoke. Performance, lights, sound was all fantastic!

The weekend makes a connection with his fans and has great interaction with the crowd during the entire show. He's a great performer and doesn't stop from start to end! High energy and amazing performance! The weekend had a very good setlist and performed like a true legend. The stage set-up is very unique. I'm not sure how obstructed views would be from the upper levels but I was on the (main level/100 level section) and it was easy to view the show from anywhere on the main level/ 100 section. Overall a great show but don't worry if you miss the opening acts... The weekend is the main event!

This may not apply to all of his concerts, but it does in the case of his performance at the Golden One in Sacramento. Stage set up was basic- full stage at one end of the arena with a long portion that extended from the middle of the stage outward into the center of the arena. I paid over $800 for two tix to this concert. Seats were basically at the foot of the stage. Perfect, right? WRONG!!!!!! He spent the ENTIRE concert in the middle of that long portion in the center of the arena. We actually timed how much time he spent on the main stage; LESS THAN 90 SECONDS out of the entire concert. If I were seated in the center of the arena, I d give him a 9 out of 10 for this concert, but based on how he utilizes the stage layout, seats that are typically awesome, suck. Note to future tix buyers, for this tour anyway, tickets at the center of the long portion of the stage are best. Avoid tix close to the main stage. You won t see a thing. Especially if you re short in stature!

NAV and Gucci Mane, unfortunately, were boring. They seemed like they didn t even want to be there. Which was a huge let down because I was actually looking forward to seeing them perform as well. But I would have been happier with out them at all. Maybe it s just hard to top his last tour who had Travis $cott opening. And Travis Scott murdered that stage. But in the other hand, Belly came on stage during one of The Weeknd songs and killed it with his stage presence! Maybe he should have opened? Either way, once Abel came on it was all worth it, and I still recommend going.

Too many opening acts. Weeknd was great but I would have liked him to have a longer show. He has a lot of good songs and was hoping to hear False Alarm among others. I hope for his future shows there will be less opening acts and more Weeknd. Would love to see him and Bruno Mars do the Superbowl halftime show.

This was one of the best concerts I ve ever been to, his voice was amazing, the stage and set up was so cool everyone was so nice at the concert the staffing was awesome and most of all The Weeknd was unbelievably stunning.

I absolutely loved the concert! They all sounded great live, I wasn t expecting for them to sound so good but they did. What an amazing show!! I can t wait for them to come back soon! Minnesota loves you guys!

We enjoyed singing and dancing to the wonderful music. I could not stop listening to the music after the show while at a late night dinner and during the drive home. Excellent show! I would definitely like to attend his show in another city.

The weeknd sang his hits back to back nonstop and even if you didnt know all of his songs aka like my boyfriend you still had a great time. I truly enjoyed the concert however was not impressed with the vip aspect of the concert, I could've paid less money to watch him on the big screen then to deal with the non vip treatment.

The concert was amazing. Before it was over, it was top 3 on my mainstream concert list of artist I've seen and I've seen a a few... From start to finish everyone was on their feet.. I only have good things to say!! And I can go on, but I won't. It was worth it.
