Don't get me wrong I love She & Him but during the concert I was disappointed that the venue didn't allow any flash photography. Even during the encore Zooey Deschannel requested to the audience to not take photos or recordings because she likes being "in the moment." However, sometimes people like taking pictures or videos to save and view later on to remember the fine memories. Plus, most people like to relive those moments over and over without their cognitive remembrances. The prohibited photography just seemed too unfair for fans. On another note M. Ward rocked the heck out of the show on the side of Deschannel which made the whole concert awesome. Each time he sung the crowd would praise. He made the tune sound even more better along with Zooey's with his vocals and guitar solos.

I was extremely impressed with this concert. Many of the band's songs are slower so I wasn't sure how it would be in concert. I was amazed though. Zooey's voice is as incredible as on her records. She is the real deal. M. Ward had some crazy guitar moves too. Tilly and the Wall was their opener and I didn't know who they were really, I only recognized one of their songs from the movie Whip It, but they did pretty great as well! Overall I was very happy with how the whole thing turned out. Worth every penny!!

The show was great, the band was great, the opening band (Secret Sisters) was great, it was a lot of fun. It was more enjoyable when it was just Zooey and M., it made it seem less like a concert and more like a performance. It seemed more personal and more fun. Zooey had a few quips between songs as well. One thing I didn't like was the ban on phones and cameras. I can definitely understand WHY, but when you have security and staff running around for the first twenty minutes telling people no phones, one person told me to put mine away 10 minutes before the show even started while completely ignoring someone doing the same as me not even 6ft away, it gets annoying and ruins the mood. People eventually started listening and the staff became a bit less distracting. The show was great regardless though. It is something I would do again... although, if I ever go to another Ryman show, I will either sit in the balcony or in front of it. The supports underneath are the worst.

Just as the title suggests... the show itself was excellent. The band played a very tight set, and had an amazing energy. However, the sound man should get punished. The vocals were lost in the music and the drums were overpowering. Other than that it was nothing but a pleasurable experience. I never realized how tiny Zooey was until this show.

I wished that they would have interacted more between songs. Seems like they played straight through, and sort of rushed at that, and then played us two encore songs, after the packed house clapped for several minutes. Do love Zooey and M. Ward, and the Chapin Sisters were lovely, but the back-up band was fantastic!

Musically, She & Him were impeccable. I loved watching M. Ward work the guitar the way it was meant to be. I'm not a huge fan of the venue (Uptown Theater). Even though it's beautiful, the standing/general admission made it difficult for my wife to see the stage.

Run don't walk to the next opportunity you might have to see this band live. After a few tech issues at startup, Zooey & M. Ward delivered a flawless set showcasing most of the material from their too small catalog of material. Patsy Cline - move over. The new queen has arrived. Mike Coykendall from the She & Him band opened the show with a great set. I only felt bad that for the "hometown show", the Schnitz was only about half full for what had to be one of the best shows of the season.

This theater was just so unique and beautifully decorated to provide a nice atmosphere. I felt like almost everyone could see the stage because of the floor design.... But enough about that, The opening band "The Chapin Sisters" played a short but sweet set and went off to get ready because they were Zooey and Matt's back up singers. After a little 20 minute intermission none other than the wonderful Zooey Deschanel came out and came out swinging with "I was made for you" as the first song. As the show went on they played a variety of 24 songs, both from "Volume One & Two" they also snuck a couple M. Ward songs in there...2 new songs were played as well as a Beach Boys cover of Wouldn't It Be Nice. They ended the show with Sweet Darlin', went off stage and of couse had an encore of the two new songs I'd mentioned previously. The entire show was enough to bring tears to your eyes, TRULY unforgettable. I recently went to Lollapalooza, Modest Mouse and Atmosphere...this topped all that and every show I've ever seen for that matter, if that gives you an idea how amazing it was. I HIGHLY Recommend seeing them even if you have to drive 8.5 hours to Kansas City,MO to do so.

The concert was sold out and you could definitely tell as the floor was packed with fans enthusiastic to hear She & Him perform their brand of the "California Sound". Zooey sang with confidence throughout the concert and gave some small talk with the audience. But at some parts, the audience could not hear what she was saying and they fixed the volume on her mic so that we could hear her. Matt was awesome with the guitar and he sure shined on the guitar solos. They sang through their catalog of songs from Volumes One and Two with the exception of "If You Can't Sleep". They also included some song covers in their performance. The covers were "Would You Like to Take a Walk", "Roll Over Beethoven", "Ridin in My Car", "Fools Rush In", and she included her famous cover of "I Put a Spell on You". The concert lasted about two and a half hours total with the opening act (Chapin Sisters), the main set, and the two encores. If they come to this neck of the woods again, I'll definitely try to go see them again.

To begin, I really love She & Him's records. I really love the Mann Center and their staff, and in no way hold them accountable for the flaws in last week's show. There were signs placed at the entrance which said something to the effect that the audience were not to use their cell phones during the show. Fair enough. THEN, the staff of the Mann Center (very politely and apologetically) came around to remind everyone what the sign said. Again, I do not hold them responsible - they were simply doing their job. THEN over the loud speaker, preceding their performance, another announcement was made over the PA system. I have never heard of this before outside of artists who don't allow photography for legal reasons - this band was not prohibiting photography for legal reasons, they simply didn't want your attention to stray from them. ...which may have been merited if the show was something spectacular. Yes, the songs are great. Yes, the backing band is wonderful. Yes, M. Ward shredded his guitar in ways I never thought possible. But all of this was somewhat in vain because of Zooey. I have seen them before, and like last time, her vocals were turned up far above everything else, to the point where you couldn't hear the backing vocalists, and for the first time at a show, I was getting a headached (and I have seen Metallica, Iron Maiden, Dio, Black Sabbath, etc.). I have heard other people at other venues say her vocals were turned up too high, so it is rather obvious that she makes the staff adjust her levels above everyone else, and while I enjoy her voice, it is not nearly good enough to stand out above everything else.

Camera Obscura was a fantastic opening act and arguably the better band. She and Him is obviously a more mainstream and crowd pleasing with their high energy numbers, beautiful harmonies and buckets of romance and charm. As for the location? Central Park is a beautiful place but being crammed into a tiny space with a sell out crowd in 90 + degree heat was brutal. To increase the claustrophobia quotient "all exits are final". It would have been lovely to step away from it all and get some air. The bathrooms? Porta-potties. Horrible. Food and drinks were fairly priced and above average concert fare but in such a tightly packed space it was just about impossible to enjoy. I'd say the biggest disappointment is imagining having space to sit eat and relax restfully enjoying the music. Instead it was a tiresome battle, fighting the crowd, spilling your drinks, having people push and prod almost knocking the food from your hands. Leaves a lot to be desired. She and Him and Camera Obscura, I would see again anytime. Very cool. Summer stage, unless it is an obscure act, hell no.

Camera Obscura opened and did a great job, however, it was hard to understand them and I was worried it was the sound system. But when She & Him took the stage, the sound was clear and their voices were succinct. She & Him were wonderful, Zooey has a beautiful voice and Matt's is smooth. They were light on chatter - which is nice because it means more music, but I was also hoping for some funny quips from Zooey. Overall, I had a grand time and left a bigger fan than I was upon entering.

The show was alright- $30 is about right for them. They seemed to be in a hurry- finish one song, start the next, then the next... No real interaction except for one or two bits that sounded scripted. But it was fun, they are good at entertaining, and Zooey is a prettytalented musician.

Both bands were incredible! Everything I could ask for and more :) venue was very nice and they had affordable food and beverages at the front of the venue which was convenient. It was a big venue and it was very easy to see. Parking was expensive for parking in a field but there was a lot of space. Getting out was kind of a hassle and finding it was a little difficult. Overall it was great and I will definitely go back.

I took my sister to this show. We had an unforgettable time! We arrived 2 hours early and were standing in the second row. We over heard people complaining about the "No Cell Phone, No Pictures" rule, but truly, we thought it was an fantastic rule! It kept with the '60s vibe She & Him gives off. I do not need a picture to remind me how amazing of a night I had.

She & Him gave a such a good concert in NYC in Central Park on Summer Stage. Beforehand I was not expecting much as I really did not know what to expect. I was positively surprised and pleased by their performance and the quality of good music. They came, they played, they sang. They had a great band on the background and no matter how pretty Zooey Deschanel was, she did not steal the whole show. Zooey sang beautifully, and M. Ward is suuuuch a talented guitarist! Their songs were more "rock'n'roll" on stage than on record, which I was very happy about. The guitar came up better than in studio performances. They all played and sang harmonically together. It was a wonderful concert. And if someone claims that Zooey is very distant to the audience when on stage, I have to disagree. She took contact to us, but more importantly she took care of the most important, music. After this experience I have a lot more respect on this duo and their band. Thank you She&Him!

The opener, camera obscure, was awesome. The venue was really strict about not using cell phones at all, and i realized why when she and him went on. Zooey deschanel live sounds awful, and i guess they don't want anyone to document it. Studio zooey is adorable, live zooey sounds like a strangled goat. i ended up leaving halfway through the set.

shortly after the opening act a heavy rain started, everyone got soaking wet but no one left because then came she&him, and they were really fine. zooey has a good voice and she is really looking sweet and adorable, M.Ward plays the guitar and also sings some songs, and some they sing together really fine. the band is good, not all songs are great but I like the feeling they create, perfect for a warm summer's night in new york's central park. the changing stage lights and backgrounds also created a good feeling. what I didn't like was that it was forbidden to take pictures or videos, and a security guy was always looking around and telling people to stop taking pictures, that made me feel uncomfortable...

overall it was really fun. It did rain and everyone was soaked, but I thought that added to a great experience. I would have given it 4 stars if I liked or knew more of the music. I ate Asiadog - veggie dog which was just OK - not very hot. Very good beer. At first I thought the set up was weird (bleachers, astroturf) but then after it poured I realized it would have been a mess without those!

This concert was AMAZING. She & Him put on a great show! Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward are awesome on stage - the set list was a good mix of their newer stuff and older stuff, slower songs and more upbeat songs with the whole band. Zooey was adorable as always and had a great rapport with the crowd - the crowd was really into the show which was fun. After their last song, the whole band came back out for an encore, and then Zooey and M. Ward even came back out for a surprise second encore, when they did I Put a Spell on You which was incredible. It really was great and I can't wait until I can see She & Him again. Plus I loved the venue, loved being outside (even though it poured rain at one point!), and liked the food and drinks that were offered. The only downside is no pictures or videos allowed (on the request of She & Him) and they strongly enforced it. I would have liked to get a picture, but it was actually kind of nice to not have everyone's phones up in the air!

coming on to perform 15 minutes after a deluge of rainfall, Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward rocked the stage with her enthusiasm and his soaring guitar; They had as much fun as the crowd, performng songs from their discography; Zooey's "new girl" personna was infectious and embracing as ever and she does remind of a young Linda Ronstadt - in fact, it might have been intersting to hear the group perform such Ronstadt songs as Different Drum, Desperado, and Gotta Feelin' Called the Blues; Her talent is very diverse, playing a variety of instruments along w/ Ward and their supporting group and vocalists were oustanding- would have loved to see them up close in a more intimate setting

The rain didn't stop the awesomness from happening. Camera Obscura did a great opening and She & Him was awesome! I realized they were even better live. Zooey Deschanel made a couple of jokes about the rain, and She & Him's celebration of the 4th of July, and promised herself she wouldn't make bad jokes. And M. Zooey's voice and M. Ward's musicianship are really surprising live. She has tremendous vocal power not immediately evinced on record. He is everywhere during a number over by the vocalists one minute, the bass player the next. He is definitely in complete control seeing that the audience gets a totally fulfilling experience.

It was a really hot evening, but the band handled it well and still looked energized and jumped around. I love all their music, so wasn't disappointed with the choice of songs they played. There were a few that weren't on their albums too which was nice. I think they are both really talented and it came through on stage when they moved around the instruments. I also loved seeing M Ward doing his stuff on his guitar - he's so fast and gets amazing sounds from it! Zooey was amazing, as always. I was a little disappointed they didn't thank the opening act. I went to both the Saturday and Monday shows, and each time, Camera Obscura blew me away. They are unbelievably talented, and I would see them again and again. She & Him, on the other hand, was boring and unimpressive. If you've ever seen a five-year-old girl force her parents to sit in a living room while she puts on a "beauty pageant," imagine a thirty-year-old woman doing the same on stage in front of a large crowd, and you'll have some sense of what this show was like (Ironically, her parents were there the second night). Zooey Deschanel's often-flat singing that was consistently way over the mix negatively overshadowed an otherwise talented band. Also, evidently Deschanel was hypersensitive about people taking pictures with phones, so for the second night, the venue started telling people that if there was even a hint of Instagram, they would be ejected. Great way to keep your fans happy.

She & Him put on an excellent show in Central Park. I've been following M Ward for over 10 years now, and he was in fine form. He perfectly compliments Zooey Deschanel's songs--never overplaying or getting in her way. The band was tight, and they played for over 2 hours. It was extremely hot, in the low 90's and humid as all hell, but Zooey was still full of energy and hopping around like a lunatic. The second encore was a real treat. M Ward and Zooey came out and just the two of them performed "I Put A Spell On You." I've never heard Zooey wail like on that number. It was fantastic. I highly recommend checking them out. I had a blast!

If this was just any band then they would have had a higher rating. They played the majority of their songs and did them well. They would do little things like the back up singers did these little dances, two of them playing the piano at the same time, light effects and some professional sounding whistling. However, this is Zooey Deschanel. In everything she does there's all awesome going on. Her show is full of funny and personality. Her music videos are original, danctastic and engaging. But the concert was basically just standing and playing music. She rarely talked to the audience and rarely seemed to care when she did. Her dancing was simply hopping for a couple seconds with her tambourine. She didn't seem comfortable being there and looked like she was just going through the motions. So it was a good concert but not up to the level of awesome that Zooey usually seems to be showing.

She & Him's performance at the Hill Auditorium on U of M's campus was a big disappointment. Ironically, it didn't have to do with the performers themselves, but with the sound setup. It was terrible... it was unbelievably loud and the levels were all off. It's time to get a new sound setup crew.

This was without a doubt the worst concert experience I have ever had. Both opener and headliner were terrible. Sound system in Hill Auditorium was terrible, feedback...couldn't hear vocals part of the time and when you could hear the vocals- you wished you couldn't. This band is joke. this show was terrible! I like she & him and camera obscura, but the sound was awful. it was a cacophony that got in the way of the music. I thought it was impossible to screw up the acoustics at hill auditorium, but these bands managed. I really felt like it was a waste of money, and I wish I hadn't bothered with a babysitter.

The boyfriend and I bought tickets to see She & Him and Camera Obscura at Hill Auditorium. I was more interested in Camera Obscura's show, but I figured since She & Him are so famous and well received in the music industry that their show would be entertaining, at least. Camera's set was great and they were gracious to the audience. She & Him came out on time but there was just something missing from them. 5 or 6 songs into the set, our madame Zooey obligingly addressed the audience with, "Lovely Day?"- quite ironic since a few hundred of us "fans" traversed in the muggy rain that day to see them. It was pretty awkward every time she attempted to interact with the audience. Someone yelled out "We love you, Zooey!" to which Zooey responded with "Wow, that sounded like a robot." No amount of love or cheer could pull dear Zooey out of her ice queen demeanor- she was there to sing and to get through the set. She must have said probably 5 sentences to the audience the entire show- so that was a little off-putting. She seems so warm and friendly on T.V. and in her music videos so to see someone with what looked like so little interest in really being up there on stage, it was hard to keep up the enthusiasm on our end in the seats. She just stood there and sang, no dancing or energy could be found in between the long breathy verses and hackneyed renditions of classic 1950s standards. Another note- her vocals were so loud and she kept signaling to the sound guys to turn her mic up and after a few songs my head was pounding from the shrill treble of too many bad turned-up pop songs. She was practically playing at festival volume inside the small, intimate venue when she could have played at half that volume and had amazing sound. My theory is they need to play so loud to cover up her sharps and flats, which didn't even really seem to help that, because certain parts of songs were so deafening that I wondered why She & Him are so popular at all. For all of the hype, and for all of the love that they get, it was a big let down to feel like we were impeding on Zooey's life for making her play for us for an hour and a half. Their covers of Unchained Melody and Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me were trite and vapid remakes of classics. M. Ward knows better and is a far better musician than he let on in this show. It's a shame that someone with all of the right connections and good looks but almost no singing talent can make it this far. Camera Obscura would have been a way better headliner, and I don't plan on paying to see She & Him anytime soon.

From Matthew White's groovy tunes the show was kicking off as the sun was setting on a reasonably cool evening at the Hollywood Bowl. It was my first experience at the Bowl and I am already making plans to return. Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell were fantastic and it blew me away that it was also their first time, well at least performing on the great and historic stage. As they began to sing "Love Hurts" the crowd was overcome with a collective gasp followed by a soft clap as the classic duet was bellowed over the outdoor amphitheater. Later joined by the great Albert Lee and other friends from the industry the crowd was gracious and satisfied with having seen a living legend. The crowd was split with E. Harris fans crooning and looking to leave as Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward came on stage but most sat back down and stayed most of the evening. I sat next to a local comedian from Los Angeles who had yet to hear or see Ms. Deschanel outside of television or movies and was pleasantly surprised by her talent. Throughout the set she would turn to me and say wow. When the they blossomed into their cover of "You Really Got A Hold On Me" the crowd swooned upon M. Ward's entrance as his vocals stole everyone's heart. As they came out and did a cover of "I Put A Spell On You" Zooey showed off her passion, talent, and lungs. In any other concert situation I would have been frustrated with the lack of organization in releasing the parking lots, but I was still in a musical wonderland in my mind that I wanted to sit there and collect my thoughts on an amazing evening.

Matthew E. White was, umm, interesting. He and his band need a smaller venue that would showcase the nuances of his low key voice and lackluster presence that brings to mind a shy and mumbling Meatloaf; he sounded best when he belted; otherwise, snoozers. How Rodney and Emmylou could be the UNDERCARD is a mystery (The younger, Zoey-impressed audience must be fed!?). A total class act that showcased talent, artistry, and depth honed from years of experience and success, their music expressed both soft beauty and rocked (guitarist Lee!) in a well balanced, well-paced set. Very enjoyable- more! She and Him are not bad. Their retro style had fun, very entertaining moments; there's talent there. They impressed who they came to impress. Some seasoning is needed, but they are a fresh talent. But top billing? Don't think so.

What a treat to hear Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell sing together in perfect harmony after all these years. The band they have is also amazing. Mathew E White was surprisingly good. Enjoyable music, very low-key and relaxing. She and Him were very unique and the music was really good. Zooey's voice was a bit too loud on the microphone but all and all I would see them again.

63 dollars for a performance that lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes: that is definitely too much. Of course, 2 other groups were on stage before, but I guess most of the people had come to enjoy She & Him, just as me. The Greek Theatre is UC Berkeley is a great place. As for She & Him, the songs were good but Zoe and Matt didn't interact enough with the public. A little "hey Berkeley and the Bay Area" after the third song and some "How are you doing ? We are doing great here" fron time to time but that's it. Come on, this is a concert, the audience expect more from a group than just songs.

Zooey Deschanel has an amazing voice and Matt is a great musician. So why is their performance so cold. It's like a slick politician. There's no emotional connection with the audience. When she sings about love or heartbreak, it's just not believable. They need a serious infusion of soul.

They sound just as good live as they do on their album. I wish Zooey had interacted with the crowd a little more but if seeing She & Him live has shown me anything it's that she seems a little more on the reserved side than I would have though. Still, excellent show and I was happy to have gone.

The best part of this show was Emmylou Harris, who was considered an "opener". Zooey and M Ward didn't come on until pretty late in the night, and they started the show by asking us all to be in the moment and not to use our cell phones at all. I really liked Zooey's TV persona and M Ward's music, but together, in concert, not so much :(

Saturday night's concert at the Greek in Berkeley offered a good mix of 3 different genres. The show opened with Tillie and the Wall - an indie group originally from Omaha. I'd familiarized myself with their music prior to the show and found it nice but nothing special. However, the group proved an ancient axiom of rock true. If you haven't heard them live, you haven't heard them. The group proceeded to put on 30 minutes of great dance music complete with a member tapping (clogging?) out the beat. It's a shame there wasn't a dance area as it would have been full. The co-headliners of the evening were Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell. The two have a long history together going back to the day's of the Hot Band. The duo proceeded to play an hour plus of great country music. After opening with two Gram Parsons' songs - "Return of the Grievous Angel", and "Wheels", the pair proceeded through a mix of each other's better know songs and a few from their latest - "Old Yellow Moon". "Leavin' Louisiana" and "Red Dirt Girl" highlighted as good an Emmylou Harris show as I've seen since her concert with the Hot Band at Tanglewood decades ago. She & Him came on last and performed songs from all three CD's weighted more towards Volume Two than the others. The highlights of the evening were the duet between Zooey and Matt on "Ridin' in My Car" (which just might be the perfect 50's song), and "Hold Me, Thrill Me" the old Mel Carter hit. "Ridin" showcases the Him in S&H and some of his guitar virtuosity. Zooey seemed at her best and most comfortable when she sang alto on songs like "Stars Fell on Alabama" and the aforementioned "Hold Me". With seemingly everybody recording 'Standards', might this be her next direction? The show for the most part was quite good - the exception being the sound mix on a few of the numbers. At one point you could see Zooey's mouth moving but little coming thru the sound system save Matt's guitar. Note: For any of the few who might read this and are unfamiliar with M. Ward's solo work, give yourself a treat and get his last one - A Wasteland Companion. Then work your way back thru his catalog. He's plays with Monsters of Folk (Jim James, Conor Oberst, et al), and can be found on Neko Case's current single "Man".

well, the opener played a short 30 min set, they were bouncy and energetic, but the sound was rather mushy for them, so was glad when it was over. Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris played a great 75 minute or so set, covered a bunch of both of their own tunes, and their joint stuff too. again, the sound was a little muddy and a little to loud/hot for this style of music. we were sitting in the bottom of the upper amphitheater area just to the right of the sound booth, so should have had pretty good sound.. She and Him came on, suddenly the sound was much clearer (gee, do you suppose the headliner's sound crew sabotaged the openers acts? say its not so).... but Zooey's vocals were again too loud, overpowering the rest of the music, when they added strings, it all became mushy again. The choice of tunes was mostly all sappy ballads, done in a kinda retro-1950s-meets-coffeeshop-moderne style, and after about 40 minutes of this, and Zooey's obviously large ego, I turned to my wife and said, "if she wasn't Hollywood, she wouldn't be on this stage". we bailed after a couple more tunes. I'd say the highlight of the show was people watching. odd crowd, mix of modern hipster kids and quite a few older folks like us, many of whom likely were there to see Rodney and Emmylou, as quite a few were packing up and leaving during the She and Him set. I have nothing against loud, but you got to be able to HEAR the music, especially on more acoustic stuff. when the vocals are saturating on the same notes over and over, there's a problem with the mix and equalization.

Everything was too loud and shrill. Turn down the volume and the treble!!! She & Him: Too much she & not enough him. Ambitious band but ultimately incoherent. Totally lacking in charisma except in duet which was the best part. Emmylou Harris: Great, straight country, but not enough variety. Great singing. Tilly and the Wall: The great surprise of the evening. Charming, original and extremely tight. Should have been the main act.

I absolutely love She & Him. It was amazing just to see them live - both Zooey and Matt did an AMAZING job - I couldn't stop bobbing my head to the music and couldn't help dancing along with every single song. Their opening acts - Tilly & the Wall and Emmylou Harris/Rodney Crowell were great too. However, I was a little bored during the Emmylou Harris/Rodney Crowell --- but many country fans were big fans of them.

I'll admit, I bought the tickets to see Emmy Lou Harris and Rodney Crowell. I do like She & Him and have great respect for M. Ward and Zoey Deschanel's singing. But here's the thing: the latter should be the openers. They just can't compete with the musicianship and emotional impact you get from Emmy Lou and Rodney. So, inevitably the last part of the show was a bit of let-down. Not at first: She & Him put on a fine show. But eventually, the retro bit gets tired. The songs, while good, start to sound the same. And the irony of singing 60's pop starts to lose its charm. But still and all, a good show and a fabulous evening at The Greek.

Tilly and the Wall proved to be an energetic, enthusiastic, and entertaining opener, which made it all the more disheartening when She & Him stepped on stage and delivered what can only be described as a DOA performance. It's hard to say anything negative about Matt Ward, or the band, or even Zooey Deschanel's voice (though she does tend to occasionally get "scream-y") but it was hard to see the positives of the show when the energy of the main singer (Zooey) can only be compared to that of a pet rock. She seemed to segue from sheer boredom to utter frustration as the show went on, at one point attempting to laugh but forgetting to curl her mouth into a smile. She could be overworked, or simply not interested in the lifestyle of a touring musician, but whatever the case may be, she was NOT happy to be there. And it was contagious, as I found myself bored, frustrated, and eventually ready to leave. If you're a fan of She & Him, I would recommend sticking to the albums and skipping the live shows. PS - She & Him might want to rethink positioning the keyboard at the very front of the stage. I had great seats and yet could only see Zooey from the neck up.

First thing is that this was my first time at the Greek Theater at Cal-Berkeley....Absolutely Fantastic venue!!! Tilly and the Wall were a fun energetic band that was a pleasure to enjoy...only downside was the sound-man had the volume pumped up too much, just because the "knob" goes to 10 doesn't mean you turn it all the way up to 10 Emmy Lou Harris was alright, was not there to see her, so just an added bonus. She & Him were fantastic! They put on a really great show, again one down side was all the guitar changes that occurred during their show and the stage help coming on and off the stage.....over kill....stage help should not be seen

I've never really known what to do with She & Him. I like them, I listen to their music and I even bought a ticket to the show. But it's Zooey Deschanel in a band. Should I take them seriously? Yes. They have a fitting and fun stage presence and sound great live. The music from the first few 3 albums (volumes 1 & 2, Christmas album) was solid and impeccably produced, but that felt a little less so in Volume 3. However, I'd say that Volume 3 sounds very good, maybe even better live.

I'm giving 5 stars because I love She & Him-maybe a little too much. The venue is perfect for an outdoor concert. With it being a pool though, I think it would be nicer to have it filled with water. I think it being filled with maybe a few inches would help the concert goers feet. Also, when concert goers were told "no pictures" before we walked in, it didn't really stop those with smart phones from taking pictures. I think as long as we don't have "professional" cameras it should be okay to take a snapshot of the awesomeness-especially that of Zooey and M. Ward. Other than those suggestions, the performance was amazing and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. Cheers, Cosmo!

The only reason this show is getting 4/5 is that drinks at the Cosmo were the most ridiculously priced of any that I have ever seen on the strip. I love listening to She and Him but there was absolutely no crowd interaction making the show very boring. If I just wanted to listen to them, I would've just listened to the album at home. Zoey acted like she had never been on a stage before and looked super nervous/awkward. She and Hims personal security yelled at people for just having a phone out, not even taking pictures (which was also prohibited). Concerts are supposed to be fun, not boring. I ended up leaving early. On the other hand... Tilly and the Wall was amazing. I would see them again anyday!!

Tilly and the Wall was AMAZING as always! But I was quite disappointed with She & Him. Being a Elf and New Girl Fan I expected to see the funny and quirky side of Zoey on stage and that was not the case. Her voice is very wonderful but the fun side was not there. And she kept on referring that she was in Omaha when really she was in Council Bluffs...In any case, it was a relaxing evening with beautiful weather and the Stir is a great place to watch shows.
