Wow unbelievable, To see the cult was on my bucket list and the cult did not disappoint. Raw real music and vocals at its best. Live action the music line up was perfect some from the past some from the present. The energy from the band to the fans was electric. The clear clarity of the sound perfect The best live show I've seen in my life and I have seen a lot !
They totally rocked! Billy Duffy hasn't lost a step!

Sound system was not good- or the acoustics were really bad in the Pearl theatre. Ian Astbury just mainly yelled, didn't sing the songs- and the whole band seemed as if they were just trying to hurry up and get through the show. I am a HUGE Cult fan and I was really disappointed. I know they are 20 years older than when I saw them last (and so am I) but it just really wasn't very good. At least the tickets were cheap!

The Cult still have it after all these years. You can tell they are struggling with their demographics age though. Most of us are 40-something and not prone to mosh pits. It makes the energy level for a band with such a hard edge. Astbury and Duffy are still amazing at their crafts and worth every penny. I didn't really like Ian's political commentary, but what can you do? He clearly isn't up on American politics. :-) The opening band, Black Rider, had a couple good moments, but overall were bad. Two chord droning songs, muffled vocals and minimal musicianship. Not the warm up band I would choose for The Cult. They were more of an energy drain. Again, the crowd wasn't overly appreciative, so the band gave us 75% in my opinion. I feel comfortable saying that because when I saw them a few years ago they absolutely blew me away. It was amazing. A good show at the palms, but a few notches short of great. I enjoyed it.

The Cult played to a decent size crowd and sounded great!!! Played a variety of stuff from all of their albums. Waited quite a while in the set to play songs from Electric. Personally I was a little disappointed that they didn't play for a little longer. Not sure why so short.....hope they weren't discouraged since they played a smaller venue/crowd. They left out such great Cult songs : Peace Dog, Electric Ocean, American Horse, Edie(not a huge fan of the song, just surprised) and kinda thought maybe we would hear a cover (THE Doors or maybe Born to be wild)....The encore was cranking and really got the crowd's momentum going and they just pulled the plug too early. Maybe they were tired...just didn't make sense.

opening band was black ryder hailing from australia. i thought they were a decent alternative rock band. nice guitars, loud, superb drummer. When the Cult hit the stage, i wasnt sure what to expect... they completely shook the place. Ian did well on vocals, but seemed to lack some sustained notes, otherwise he totally rocked. as for billy...unbelievable. that guy may be blastin his guitar better than he did 15 years ago. excellent show, well worth the $40 per ticket to see them at a small venue....the CULT ROCKS ON!!!

The Cult show was good, not great. Set songs include Fire Woman, She Sells Sanctuary, Sweet Soul Sister. Songs they did not sing were Painted On My Heart, The Witch, Edie, etc.. Ian Asbury's voice was not at it's best, but what do you expect. He's past his prime. The band was great behind him. Also, they only played for an hour and a half. I recomend the show, but don't expect too much.

The show was amazing, as usual. The sound was super clean. They played everything that you wanted and just enough of the new music. I brought a couple of friends that don't even know their music and they loved it. I know everyone says that this band or that band is really good live, but The Cult always blows me away. I have seen The Cult approximately fifteen times. They are just as entertaining now as they were when Guns and Roses opened up for them at San Diego State in 1987. I hope that they keep going. My twelve year old daughter loaded some of their classic songs to her ipod from my computer. I hope that she will be able to attend at least one Cult show with her aging father! I know touring must be difficult, but I hope that they continue. When music is timeless, it can transport back in time and make you reflect on your past. It is almost like therapy. This show definitely had that effect on all who attended.

This was The Cults final show of their Hidden City tour. I've never seen them live and I wasn't sure what to expect to be honest. I'm a fan of early stuff on Love and Electric. We were visiting Grand Canyon and decided to swing up to Primm Nevada to see the show. I was blown away. I can't imagine that they were any better even when they were younger. Both Billy Duffy and Ian had fantastic energy. They performed the perfect mix of old and new music. One of the best evenings I've had in a long while. Thank you!!!!

The Cult have been giving out amazing shows these past five years but this was one of the top concerts I have seen for all time. Perhaps it was the full moon or the historic Hampton Beach Casino ballroom that has hosted everyone from the Doors to Janis Joplin to Led Zeppelin, but the this was a show for the history books... high energy, incredible sound, amazing vibes and power just flowing from the stage from the first moment to the last. There are very few bands still creating such powerful, timely and relevant music for this troubled world. Ian is writing the best lyrics of his career, and the new songs sound just that... fresh, new, relevant, firmly rooted in the now and full of life. Check out the last two albums and do not miss the Cult when they come back around again.

I've only seen The Cult one other time and the was 25 yrs ago, so I was curious to see what if anything they had left in the tank as far as live performance goes. Well boy was I surprised, they overwhelmed me with their energy and stage presences and how well Ian Astbury sang....some singers get a bit lazy in their performance when singing songs they've sung for years, but that was not the case with Ian, his vocals were spot on!! They played a great set opening up with the classic ''Wild Flower'' which brought the crowd to its feet, as the set continued they mixed in some of their newer material as well as stuff off of their latest CD....the song Birds of Paradise had some great energy performed live. It was a great night of Rock and Roll, as they continued to belt out hit after hit, songs like ''Fire Woman'' and ''The Phoenix''....and the sign of a true performer is always leave'em wanting more and they did,... as they closed show with the mega hit ''Love Removal Machine'' . Can't wait to see this band again, I saw they were the opening band for Guns n' Roses in Mexico City a few days later, hope that continues as I have Tickets for GnR. Anyway,... long live the Cult.... they rocked it at the HOB Orlando!!!

Met them, The pit seats 1 and 2, right in front of Billy and blown away! Ian leaned down (I'm in a wheelchair, he held out his fist and I held it tight for about 25 seconds and we took our mutual respect grip all the way down to the stage, we let go at the same time and he jumped up and was Ian, the nicest, coolest, BEST showman EVER, Billie went off. He was so nice and kind. I LOVED the feedback he got back. The drummer was all over the drums and he and I made a connection only drummers can do. He walked straight to me after the last song and handed me a drumstick, Ian rolled a tambourine to my friend that rolled about 30 MPH 8 inches in front of my face and my friend snatched it out of the air like an all star show. Billy gave me a pick. . Later Ian looked at me and rolled one to me. I really appreciated a member of their stage crew, a big ole boy wearing bibs took a pic for me of the pedals for me after I mentioned to him "the perfect pedal order" out of reference to a Vai youtube video I'd watched Sunday about his ideas on the subject. I'd like to thank Billy and Ian for a night I'll always cherish and remember. Staff was so kind, the best. If you missed the show sorry but if there is a next time you have ZERO excuse to not see the most real, hardest rocking, deep bands to ever emerge from the UK. Thanks for everything Billy and Ian. The music was good, but the vocals were horrible. I don't know if it was from touring and he needed a rest, or just old and didn't have it any more. Notes were not held, and it seamed like he skiped every 3rd word, or just cut it short. They were good when I saw them 10 years ago. It's not 10 years ago.

I have seen The Cult many times over the years, starting in about 1986. I had started to fear that they were just not that into performing anymore and that Ian was losing the will. However, this show was a real eye opener. The Cult ripped through the hits, played some new stuff, and really engaged. Billy Duffy is a force. He had some volume/pedal problems and was a little irritated, but still ripped. Think he is a saint to deal with Ian daily. If you ever wanted to see The Cult as a real rock and roll crew, you still have a chance! Great performance.

I normally catch The Cult at the Wiltern, and it was almost by accident that I ended up driving 70+ miles into Riverside to see the show. The venue is excellent, and the setup is decent. The lighting is better than the Wiltern, which I've always found rather dark. Be careful with open floor seats; there's always some jackass who wants to start a mosh pit. If you're smaller or more frail than average, it pays to be extra aware of your surroundings. The set list flowed well, and the band touched on many of their major hits while still leaving slots open for more obscure works. I wish they'd had more time to perform new material, but it's a small complaint to lay on an excellent show. Highly recommended.

The venue is unbeatable....The Cult - not as impressed. It was a bummer cuz I saw them in 93 and couldn't wait to see them again. First 2 songs I'd never even heard. Sound was not loud enough and crowd was yelling "Louder - Louder". They didn't clue into the fact that when they played music we knew everyone was into it and loving it. Then they'd go back to unpopular music and lose the crowd again. It was still a great time - just not great because of The Cult.

I've always been a big fan of The Cult but now I know why they aren't more popular. There's something wrong with the singer. He's a few sandwiches short of a picnic. The singer seems to live in his own little world and says the most odd crap on stage. Stuff that is self righteous or just makes no sense at all. Most of the comments he makes on stage are followed by the deafening silence of the audience. He's a real odd ball. Besides that, the band brings a quality show and works hard to entertain you.

The Electric 13 Tour is special for me. The Cult's 1987 Album Electric is, to this day, in the top 5 records of all time for me. 18 at the time, the Rick Rubin AC/DC inspired production really found a spot in my rural Kentucky Community. The performance was incredible. I would bet, that if one could interview Ian Astbury and/or Billy Duffy they would say that the Cincinnati crowd was one of the best that they performed in front of for this tour. I think the big reason was it was packed with knowledgeable fans that sang along to every song - and Ian picked up on that and was in his element. He went for, and hit the high notes more often than before. Billy's playing was simply mind blowing. They played Electric in it's entirety for the first set (Wild Flower to Memphis Hip Shake. I LOVE hearing classic albums like this because this is how album oriented guys like me remember the records. The only exception was that they substituted the awesome Zap City for track #9 - the cover of Born To Be Wild. Honestly, I LOVE Zap City, but also, to me, and I know the guys felt pressured from Rubin to include Born to Be Wild on the original disc, I wished that they had performed it. The reason is that in Kentucky, amongst my group of hard rockers, the song was adored - and their version, though a tad over the top - shredded! Not even close to any of the their originals as far as being a favorite, but I do wish that they had remained true to the original disc. The second set followed a brief video on the screen behind them and included tracks that spanned their career - including at least two tracks from their 2012 release, "Choice of Weapon" which is a superb record. The second set ended with a scorching "She Sells Sanctuary" I had to work that next day, and had to drive about an hour and a half, but I wouldn't have changed that night for anything

The CULT was a great show and i know they like Pomona. I have seen them play better but they all brought it and the setlist was 5 Star to the maxxx! Ian rants or ranted similar to Jim Morrison which is very entertaining and was classic Ian. Overall i recommend this band to any Westerner or anyone with just plain sense! All of the bandmembers are very talented and Mr. Duffy kills it and plays guitar in that seperate class of few; gifted musicians! Overall definately a good choice and well worth seeing, also tickets were a steal at less than $50 bucks!

I first saw The Cult in '85 on their "Love" Tour (and I've seen them a handful of times since), and to see them today is a true throwback, bringing me back to yesteryear. Billy Duffy was great then, he's better now. Smooth and sure-handed, he guides the band with stoicism. Ian's voice is getting on with the years: he's missing the high notes and not holding notes, relying on Billy's guitar to fill in the void. I would have enjoyed hearing more variety from their albums, but I understand this tour focuses on "Electric"...yet it would've been cool to hear "Big Neon Glitter", "Dirty Little Rock Star", "Edie Ciao Baby" and others as their catalogue is extensive. Overall, a retro night of singing sharp tunes from six feet away from the stage. Great experience.

Took my son who is a multi talented musician and loves The Cult. He was not impressed at all with the sound quality inside the venue or the trueness of their songs. Myself, I grew up loving The Cult and found the band very tight, but Ian Astbury was way too loose and just going through the motions for most of the show. I think he lost his stride after his stint fronting The Doors years ago. Floating in between Jim Morrison and Ian Astbury. He showed some passion on a few tunes but his arrogance when he spoke with the crowd was annoying. Bottom line, Ian was for the most part, way off the mark and as far as I am concerned ruined the show. To give credit where it is due, Ian did thank the fans for supporting the band for the last 30 years. He has to put his arrogance and ego in check to get back on track. Just my opinion. The rythym section was awesome especially the bass player.

Second time seeing The Cult this year. First in August at Roseland.and that show was truly ELECTRIC 13. It was loud and intense, Ian Astbury was highly charged the whole place was lit up! That said... It was a slightly different show on Dec 6th. From the moment he took the stage Ian came across as a bit more tame, somewhat relaxed. He had given up the slicked back hair, leather pants and big fur vest for black jeans, a down vest and wavy curls,. This is Huntington after all. He was clearly in the suburbs and that look set the tone for the night. They rocked the show. Ian, while lacking a bit of enthusiasm did a great job musically. The band was tight but too needed a little jolt. They kept it to a 9pm showtime with one encore. ..all neatly packaged for the Island. There were some tussles on the GA floor and it became a silly security event complete with ejections and hurt feeling. Blah blah blah. But from our seats loge stage right that was as exciting as it got. Perhaps, it was our location? Last show we were on the floor, the crowd and the band were really amped and we were in the thick of it. Perhaps it was the venue or the end of the work week? Perhaps it was the rain? Can't say. It was a good time Friday night but as great a show as it was, with the Roseland comparison, it seems as though everyone could have used a preshow stop a Starbucks to get the party started.

It's only fair to break this review into three parts (VIP Exprerince, Roseland itself, and the review of The Cult) First off the VIP experience was well worth the money alone for being able to watch soundcheck. The fans who were there were very chill and nice. After a while though everyone started whispering "where is Ian"? Ian was no where to be found and ran late for the meet and greet as well. Although when he did get there, everything ran like a well oiled machine and the band was extremely nice to their fans. Now, since everything was running late and it was almost 7pm, Roseland decided to close the mezzannie section and send everyone out so that they can bring the GA crowd in. Which leads to my review of.. Rosleand itself. Horrible venue. Third time there. The individuals who had paid for mezzannie seating were given wrist bands and were told they would be fighting for a few seats at the VIP side stage. What Roseland did not account for or did not care about was that they now had a problem with an overpacked VIP side stage in which a few irate, drunk fans were making it hell for the rest of us. All the while the mezzannie section stood empty. Or maybe it was having to be subjected to the White Hills that made everyone upset. The Cult came on at 10pm. Opened with my favorite Wildflower. The band was extremely good. BILLY DUFFY STOLE THE SHOW. Consumate professional and looked like he was just damn happy to be playing and acknowledged people in the crowd. John Tempesta was wailing on the drums. Now, I don't know if Ian Astbury was just having an off day or was just pissed off in general but it showed during the first half of the show. The first half of the show his vocals were strained-half talk/sounds. In fairness to him, the vocals got a lot better by the time he sang Rain and Sweet Soul Sister. In between songs, he berated a fan for holding up their I-Pad and went on and on about it. He said something about Spotify, cussed up a storm, and grumbled about other things that I just tuned out. Honestly, no one wants to hear that nonsense. But I tell you this-he still has that swagger and stage presence. So overall, the good outweighed the bad.

Mirroring the LOVE tour, the band played all the cuts from the Electric album (sans Born to be Wild) and played them well! I don't think I understood much of what Ian Astbury was saying between songs, but that's fine...I don't think he was espousing the secret to life, existence, or even baking a cake. There was a lot of on stage spitting as Ian struggled to keep his throat clear. A power diminishment was evident as he could not quite pull off the stronger notes, but his delivery was still good. Billy Duffy again proved that he is one of the best rock guitarists around. I wasn't that enamoured of their new material and was not rushing out to purchase it. But all in all, it was good 80's metal/alternative/disco flashback fun. I'm not quite sure I understood their opening act, White Hills, at all. The first song they played was promising, but it kind of went down hill from there. If you like trance-like metal with lyrics repeated ad nauseum that don't really say a whole bunch, then they're probably right up your alley. However, I will say that I would love to be a shiny rocker chick like their bass player!

I'm sure that FINALLY seeing the Cult after many years of unlucky missed dates may have increased my awe but I've also seen enough shows to make a fairly good assessment. To me, the Cult is all about the music and no pretense. Sure, there was plenty of rock'n'roll attitude but they have the right. Ian Astbury is one of the best frontmen ever and he has an incredible band to back him up. Every band member is incredibly talented in their own right and to have 5 individual talents come together (rock'n'roll egos and all...) and make such a cohesive and original sound is amazing! And to be able to stand in a venue surrounded by so many other people and still feel the power of the Cult's music was incredible.

The Cult remind me my surf trips and also surf movies of 90's. The songs are great but I sound quality of the concert was terrible. I did not like also the singer attitude. He complined about the venue, but I have seen other concerts there and the sound was great. They probably need to change their sound engineer.

I can't believe I got to see The Cult in a venue this size. These guys put on a real rock show. Even the opening act (White Hills) kicked ass.

What can I say the Cult definitely still have it. They rocked every song. Ian's voice is recognizable and hits all the highs and lows with ease. He went on a few rants but that's OK it's his show and it's all part of the entertainment. Billy Duffy shreds like no other. He even brought out the classic Gretsch White Falcon for some nostalgia. The show was tight and the sound was great. The sound drowned out the lyrics at times but no worries we know the words and it still sounded great. White Hills opened up and I really didn't know what to expect but I liked it. Their drummer was insane and their psychedelic hard sound grows on you. Always love the atmosphere at Revolution - my kind of crowd - edgy, there for the music, great looking girls - what's not to love? I will definitely go again should they come around (unlikely but I can only hope.)

Overall I would say this was a great show. Started much later than I expected. Doors opened @ 7:00pm, but Astbury and the boys didn't take the stage until almost 11:45pm, with one warm up act (who were mind numbingly terrible). With that kind of delay they could have added another couple groups to fill in. The crowd got really drunk and rowdy just before The Cult took the stage; my wife and I got crushed up against the ground floor bar, people were thrown out. Ian put on a good show, music was spot on, vocals were ... staccato style... not really singing, not like he used to anyway. I guess the years of self abuse (smoke, drink, drugs) have caught up to his lungs. Three words, " Hustle and strut".

The show was good overall but I think it could have been better. Ian seemed "off" a bit. Sort of pissed off and bitter somehow. I didn't feel he was really focused on his singing and some of the vocals fell short as a result of this. After getting over the initial excitement of seeing a great band from the 80's, i felt like I wanted to hear more tracks from the Electric album rather than all the filler moments from Love.

Music soothes the savage beast, but in my case it soothed a savage work week and incited the beast within! [Ha ha, corny but true]. The Cult totally rocked out to a savage beat all night long with their best, legendary songs and some really great ones off the new album. Would've loved to hear "Revolution" but have no complaints to the song list. Had they not played Wildflower and Fire Woman I would've rebelled, but instead I rocked out along with the other hard-core fans down in the mosh at the stage. House of Blues is an absolute awesome venue for any band, and I'm so glad one of my all-time favorites chose to come to the Myrtle Beach venue so I could drive nearly 3 hours to see them. I only wish they were doing another show nearby!

Ian and crew still cranked it out and delivered the goods. On one of the vids there is a good shot of the audience on Duffy's side of the stage rocking out. We got the first tambourine! Bought the CD after the show, lots of good extras including 2nd CD with additional songs that were rock solid and not 'throw a ways.' These guys are definitely keeping rock alive and restoring it to its former glory. Against me! proved that rock n roll is ready for its revival and these guys opened the flood gate. Thanks for Magick & Memories fellas.

WOW. What a concert guys. The cult have been going for a while and I first saw them in my home town of London England. They managed to make few changes to their songs so that they appeal to the modern audience. I could see people ion their 20s 30s 40-s even 50s in the audience..everyone had a great time. Very good sound and incredible musicians. You can still hear the goth but slowly leaning towards the heavy rock. They are just fantastic.

Just kind of felt like Ian Astbury was going through the motions physically, and saving his voice vocally. His voice still sounds the same but he shortened notes and I'm not sure if he's just bored singing the same stuff but he was kinda changing the words and not singing them and letting the crowd sing a lot.

These guys still bring it. Last time I saw them they were opening for Metallica back in 1988 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. Ian's voice sounds like it got even better over the years. Duff is still the man. Top 3 in my most under rated guitar players ever, this guy shreds.

I highly recommend this venue to see your FAVORITE band...There is NO BAD seats and the sound is AMAZING. The Cult sounded amazing...and being their biggest fan I was surprised how great the sound of the venue was. I would like to see them at either Pala, Pechanga or that area next time around.

if you're the type that likes to dance at a concert, this is it...weight loss here I come :o)
Ive been lucky enough to see this band live quite a bit and never been disapointed at any of their shows! Billy Duffy almost shows constant improvement and was absolutely phenomenal here! What an awesome show! I hope Ian, Billy, and the band never stop writing music!
Last stop on the hidden city tour - Primm Nevada fits that description well. We drove 3.5 hours out to catch the Cult because I have loved their early music from day one be never saw them live. The show was set to start at 8pm - but rock shows NEVER start on time right? Wrong - precisely at the strike of 8 the guys took to the stage and started with Wild Flower. Great start, crisp sound. They did a nice job for the next hour and 15 minutes mixing in their hits with newer stuff in a well rounded set. We were a bit shocked when they finished an excellent rendition of She Sells Sanctuary, said goodbye and left the stage and 9:05pm. Already? of course they will come out and do a few more for an encore. They did come out and finished with with one more song - I think it was Love Removal Machine (another great from their early work), gave away several drumsticks and guitar picks and thanked the crowd for always supporting the band. It was a great show - definitely left me wanting more. Covered many songs I was hoping to hear - would have loved to hear Edie (Chow Baby), Memphis Hip-shake, and Peace Dog.... Maybe next time.
The Cult continues to amaze after more than 30 years. Second time seeing this show and am even more blown away after the performance in KC. Ian's vocals and energy are what you would expect from a front man. Billy Duffy is legendary on the guitar and together the essence of the Cult sound is brought to the stage for their fans. Truly brilliant!!!!
Would give it 5 stars if they played another 30 minutes. A 90 minute show is a bit short for their volume of work, but seems that most shows at casinos are shorter than ones at other venues. They really did rock the house w/ plenty of energy, and their music really is special.
The Cult put on a great rock concert. They have a new CD out, Hidden City, which is bad ass!! They played a lot of the new CD and mixed in all the old great songs too. Very high energy show. I've been a fan for almost 30 years and hope they never stop making new music or touring. If The Cult are in your area you need to go see them rock! It was the best concert I've been to in awhile.
It was a great show. Wished they had played a few more songs.

The band was in great form and played every song very well. The thing that left me scratching my head is why no "Edie (Ciao Baby)." I fully expected them to play that song, but it didn't ruin the experience. The Ballroom is a great, intimate setting in which to see a show, and The Cult definitely did not disappoint. It was a two-hour drive to get there, so hopefully they'll swing back through my area, because after that show, I would go again.

The Cult is an awesome band from my younger days. They played loud and hard and it was a blast. They played some new stuff that not many people seemed to know, but it was cool anyways. And of course the songs we all know were the icing on the cake. The opening band, the New Regime, blew my mind and I loved them!

Band was awesome! Great mix of older stuff from the late 80's and some of their recent work from '16. Opening band was "The Regime" and they were not great at all and mike's had a lot of feedback, but the Cult was worth the wait. There was a 1 hour wait between the two band, though.
