Big Spring Jam

These two bands by far made up for the fiasco that was act 1 and 2. 2 didn't even show so we were forced to listen again to a mediocre band I can't remember the name of. They were obviously annoyed by the crowd's reaction and made more so by having to repeat their set. I had never heard Manchester Orchestra before the night of the concert but let me say they blew me away! I was so impressed by their stage presence and musical ability. Incubus is just Incubus.. they had me from the first note. This was officially the highlight of my year so far. I was also impressed with the site staff and security, they did a very good job that night.

From start to finish..Big Spring Jam was Fantastic!! The best year yet! Alan Jackson,Thompson Square and Josh Turner all in one weekend!

The Big Spring Jam in Huntsville Alabama was a great show and to me was very family orientated. We drove 300 miles to see the show. There were several blocks that was closed of in downtown and had several bands spread out through the city. My family and I walked throughout the city and listened to different bands at different times. The band Incubus was amazing, as were the others. We will be going back next year.

Sister Hazel was great! Put on a fun lively show. Incubus on the other hand opened with lots of their newer, lesser known material and it felt as though they were trying to push their new albums instead of play all their hits. All in all, it was a great show though.

While Alan Jackson was excellent, the husband & wife team of Shawna and Keifer Thompson blew me away!! Their harmony duets backed by their excellent rocking band just rocked the whole arena. They will be a major crossover group if they record with the same sound and intensity that they gave us Saturday night!!

Loved the indoor venue - reserved seating, no lines at the restrooms, food or bars. No cigarette smoke to contend with. Did not have to get there hours early to ensure a good seat. Thompson Square needed some work with their sound - could not understand them most of the time.

Inside/outside ticket was definitely the way to go. Alan Jackson and Josh Turner, the headliners for Friday and Saturday night, respectively, were absolutely terrific! We (husband and I) had super seats right in front of the sound mixer, on the aisle. Would recommend that some of the intro acts work harder to get their music to voice mix right. You could barely understand Drake White or Thompson Square when they were singing with their music. But, when Drake White took a minute to sing without music -- he had a terrific voice. It was if they were trying to blow out the audience. Their mixers could learn a lot by sitting in the audience for the main acts, as both Alan Jackson's, and Josh Turner's music to voice mix was just right.

Went to this show to see Hinder and they delivered!!! They were amazing!!! Loved how they played their full setlist too, even though it was a festival show!!! Fuel was great too!! Saving Abel was good, and Matthew Mayfield sounded good too. Was not too sure about Jackyl, they were a little too wild for me.

I had a blast! Earth, Wind, and Fire and Sister Hazel rocked!

My husband and had a nice time at the event, but overall felt that it did not compare to the events held in the past. Having the country music piece held inside, seemed to seperate the country music lovers to the other venues. I believe it would have been better to hold all venues outside so that people could more easily roam from venue to venue. The acts performing, other than Alan Jackson, did not seem to rank as well as those who have performed in the past, therefore, we did not stay at the event as long. Also suggest selling other than bud / bud light beer.

My wife and I enjoyed the entertainment Saturday night but it didn't have the same feel as Big Spring Jams of the past. I have attended every single Jam and here are my cons for this years Jam, Too much time and Advertisement between bands (Would rather hear music in between bands), Not enough Beer selections...in the past i've enjoyed local brewers selections and finally the cost was more for less...always enjoyed Sunday afternoon music in the park. Implement a few of those suggestions and I would come back next year. Hockey815

Inside concert of Alan Jackson was incredible. All of his songs are great and he is a great performer live. We loved it, the crowd was pleasant and the atmosphere excellent. The outside, however, was completely the opposite. The three stages were set-up nicely and the food was good, but all the cigarette smoke just put a huge damper on the outdoor concerts. Good grief...where's the oxygen! We hated it, stayed about 30 mins and left due to the inability to breathe through all the smoke. Highly recommend designating a smoking area, we will not go back until this happens.

We went to the first day of Big Spring Jam to see Incubus. It was amazing. We were super close to the stage. The band was the best band I have ever seen live. The atmosphere was electric and I'm still in Incubud ephoria!

I am so glad that Incubus came to Huntsville to play at the Big Spring Jam. This is my most favorite band ever and I see them every chance I get. This was my 10th show in ten years. If you ever get the chance to see them live, you should!!

Alan Jackson & Josh Turner were well worth the time and gave great performances. Memorable time!!!

I thought Alan Jackson was awsome. The way he interacted with the crowd was wonderful. I thought Thompson Square put on a really good show. I enjoyed Madison Station very much. Josh Turner put on a really good show. Liked the inside renovations. All of the security people were very helpful and nice. I would love to see it come back again. This is about the 5th time I have been and have enjoyed all of them. I think Huntsville needs Big Spring Jam.

Josh has a great voice, Great sound, Great energy, highly recommend seeing him.

Main artist were great both nights. The first opening artist for Alan Jackson was alright but the other two could have been done without. Missed the first two opening acts for Josh Turner but liked Madison Station and Thompson Square. Madison Station's music was often too loud for their vocals to be understood. Alan Jackson, Josh Turner and Thompson Square were great!

Alan Jackson and Josh Turner were Great, Awsome, Gooood. I mainly bought tickets to see Alan Jackson. Josh Turner was just icing on the cake. Your other line up on the WDRM stage were nobodies and I really did not enjoy seeing very many of them. The music was so loud, you could not hear what they were singing. I enjoyed McDonald guy on Friday night, he was really good. Alone with his guitar. Thompson Square were good if you could hear them but their music was horribly loud. If there isnt a famous name to come to the WDRM stage, I probably wont go. Years ago, there was a tour that came to the Jam called "30 years of Rock and Roll. It had all people who only had one hit. Also, Tiny Tim, Gentry singer, Otis Day. It was one of the best shows that the Jam has ever had. I would love to see a show like that again. I really enjoyed being inside the Von Braun Arena. That was nice, comfortable. Did not enjoy announcer Dan of WDRM. His Alabama slang and snide remarks about His team, the Tide. There were as many Auburn fans in that crowd and he just slurs or snubs them in his own way. Who gives a rats butt who his team is. i just dont like that kind of stuff. I have put up with him for years and I am just tired. I dont listen to WDRM because of him. He's a jerk . WDRM and all sponsors of the Jam, thank you so much.

Big Spring Jam was fun, with great acts, beautiful weather! Hope to be back next year!

Thompson Square opened up for Josh Turner and they were amazing and even took pictures and signed autographs after. so so sweet and cute together. they performed fantastic and had such good stage performance. they sounded so good. Josh Turner was absolutely fantastic. he is my favorite. he was gorgeous and his voice is the best thing ive ever heard. he sung all the songs you would want to hear and I loved it! it was the best experience and i hope to see him again one day :)

Alan Jackson was worth the entire price of admission and more. He is a CLASS ACT. His interaction with the audience was amazing and his videos, singing and band were the best I have seen. Definitely bring him back in the future!
