This is the third time I have enjoyed the tribute to Hank Williams. Although he died tragically at age 29, he wrote and recorded unforgettable songs which have become American classics. Robin and Linda Williams, Bill Kirchner, Cathy Fink, Marcy Marxner, Mark Schatz, and a real find, Patrick McAvinue, who played the violin, made the music come alive for a loyal crowd. If you love classic, country songs, don't miss this love fest next year.

Very Very Good. Great bang for the buck. My wife and I have been to the HW tribute two of the last three years. Cathy and Marcy put on a great show. Guest performers included Robin and Linda Williams (were they good? DUH!); Dave Chappell on guitar; Rickie Simpkins on fiddle; Mark Schatz on bass; and Claire Lynch helping out on vocals. Covered most of HW's classics (I cannot think of one they missed). This was a fun evening - but it was not perfect. Do not go (next year) to this event expecting a perfect rendition of HW's music. It is just a fun evening listening to some really good musicians jam around HW's music. The Birchmere is the perfect environment.

I had heard about this event for years but do not live in the area. Upon finding that I would be in the area for this time around, I went and brought three others with me. Everyone in the party thoroughly enjoyed this musically satisfying show by some immensely entertaining (and funny) performers.

This was my fourth time enjoying this remarkable show, and my second time at the Birchmere. It has been a different show each time, with the performers mixing it up. The level of musicianship is fantastic, from Bill Kirchen's plaintive singing and twangy guitar to the sweet sounds of Robin and Linda Williams (especially Linda's slow groove singing "Your Cold Cold Heart)"), fiddle, banjos, upright bass, electric bass, mandolins. . All the musicians were in fine form and the songs ranged, as always, from fun (Hey, Hey, Good Lookin') to heart breaking (I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry). It is a wonderful night for those who know all his songs to those who have only heard them covered and everyone in between. The first time I attended I was astonished by how many of the songs i knew from covers, and I ran out to buy his CDs. Now I am hooked.

An Amazing group of Musicians gathers each year at the Birchmere and has one hellova good time singing those songs of Hank. Cathy Finks & Marcie Marxer, Robin & Linda Williams and Their Fine Band, Bill Kirchen, Jimmy Gaudreau & Ricky Simkin once again brought Hank to life for a couple of hours. It was the 14th Time they've done it, I can't wait till show #15 rolls around next year.
