Franti is such an amazing/inspiring human being. He takes the time to meet as many people as he can and includes everyone in his concerts! He is truly someone that knows what life is all about! Love, happiness and having relationships with ALL people. Highly recommend the song I'm Alive. It challenges you to be yourself and accept others for who they are as individuals. Makes me cry every time I hear it or even think about it. Such a beautiful message from a beautiful person!

Michael Franti is a peaceful positive musical activist. His songs are about making the world a better place, making ourselves better people, and celebrating the beauty in how different we all are. What makes his shows amazing and that he can sing such uplifting stories and poems and ROCK at the same time. Micheal and Spearhead have had so many different sounds over the years but their sounds have never felt contrived. I think he's just sharing the music as he feels it, and sometimes its more punk edged, sometime more rap, or reggae, or funk, or folk, or rock, but it always feels really honest and inspirational.

Michael Franti is amazing live. His message is amazing and he really rocked as well. The concert was so diverse as they moved from rock to reggae to softer numbers where he was sitting on a stool with his acoustic guitar. The beat of this music is fantastic and we left the show feeling awesome.

As usual a Michael Franti and Speahead show had great energy. Constantly moving and jumping to the rythym. The Terminal 5 venue is the largest that I've seen him play. This made it very enjoyable to not always be bumping into people. His music never gets boring or monotonous and yes, i'm seeing him again in Central Park Tomorrow.

Michael Franti and Spearhead once again put on a great show! I was pretty close to the stage and the crowd was warm and welcoming, as always. They performed an ode to MJ and Michael even moonwalked across the stage! The energy was amazing and the show was A+!

This was the 8th time we've seen this group this year--and they were awesome again. Michael's voice was true and strong (obviously the recent surgery did him no harm at all--and he looked happier and healthier than last month)! Charine and the guys were fantastic as always. Nice venue, too.

This was my first Michael Franti & Spearhead experience, and i was in awe! His voice and energy flow off the stage and truly engage the fans. He rocked!! When they announced Cherine Anderson as the special guest I was impressed- i had heard of her through his album and she owned that stage with her opening!! Loved the way they brought audience up at various times throughout the show...to dance, play. Truly an amazing vibe throughout the evening.

What can I say, I went into this show with extremely lofty and elevated expectations.....and they were met and exceeded! There is so much positive energy at a Franti & Spearhead show. And they continue to "fine-tune" their performances. They rock you hard for several songs, then bring out the stool & acoustic guitar and give you campfire style for a few to catch your breath. Couldn;t have asked for a better show or night of fun!

everytime I've been to see Michael Franti (this was my third) I come away believeing in the goodness of humankind again. The beats are high, the bass is low, it can feel like a reggae dancehall for lareg portions, which in itself cleanses the soul. the mesage is positive, its conscious. It's healing. And for some reason,t hese folks love Richmond! So it always makes for a special show.

I see many, many shows a year and this is now my favorite band to see live. Franti stormed the stage with "A Little Bit of Riddim" and rocked straight through for 2-1/2 hours concluding with "Say Hey." This renaissance man didn't miss a beat, swtiched up tempo and guitars more times than I can mention. The time flew by. People of all sizes, shapes, colors and ages were moshing all over the venue. I will make every effort to see all of the shows I can within a 5 state radius and maybe further. You can tell he truly loves what he does and appreciates his fans.

This is the second time that I've seen Michael Franti & Spearhead live, and next time they're in the area, I will definitely check them out again. The first show I went to was about 5 years ago when they came to play at my college. I'm not sure if it was the University setting coupled with the initiation of war in Iraq, but in the middle of the set, he went off for about a half hour on his political opinions. Also, if you have listened to his "Stay Human" album, then you know that about half the tracks are skits expressing his disapproval of the death penalty. So I was very pleasantly surprised when he spent the concert singing and not airing his various points of view (other than what is contained within the lyrics of course).

The Stay Human documentary was touching and inspirational. Michael's view on life and keeping a positive attitude and being able to portray that in his music and use his platform to promote positive change is something that every artist should do. Michael Franti's concert at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills was an intimate, inspiring event. I have been wanting to see him for many years, and it was worth the wait!!! The only nuisance was the server staff was continually confused before the concert. We were offered several meals that we had not ordered, much to the chagrin and frustration of the staff. But once the music started, it was all ok.

Everyone deserves Music, and Michael Franti is an ambassador of the human experience with a gleam in his eye, and a smile in his heart., and a beat to rock your soul. BUT FORGET THE CANYON CLUB - a more expensive, more uncomfortable venue does not exist. After paying the $60+ each to get in, we were forced to spend another $50+ per their rules on food/drinks to justify our seats. ( fine print said $25 minimum, but guess what? There were no $25 plates.) Food choices were meat meat and meat, and none of us could chew the low quality cuts. I should have just handed them my credit card and skipped the meal altogether. Really, I have seen Michael for Free, for $10, for $30 for $40. But that night cost the 3 of us over $400. I would gladly donate that to any of Michael's foundations and good works, but to a cavern like the Canyon Club, forget it. Never ever ever again will we go there. And we traveled from Tahoe just to see him after seeing him in our home town the week before.

If you are at all a Michael Franti/Spearhead fan, you would have loved this show. I brought my 5 year old daughter because she loves dancing to his music. She didn't do much yoga, but we found a spot in the shade for her and she loved hearing the music live. We went up to the stage and danced our hearts out just like we do at home and she had a blast. The yoga part was fun...it was hot, so if you go to a yoga show make sure you bring a lot of water. I dumped mine out at the entrance thinking we weren't allowed to bring it in. Michael Franti is such an inspiring human being, and you can just feel the love at all his shows. We waited after the show because my daughter wanted to give him a hug, and she started crying afterwards because it was so short...for her to wait in the hot sun for 45minutes until he got to us, I'm thinking she could feel the love too. Such a fun day!

What could be better than a private concert with one of the best musicians around?! Getting a workout along with it! Everyone at this event was uninhibited and freely moving to the beat of their own drum. We were left empowered and rejuvenated. The only thing that could make this event better is having it earlier in the day as it was held at noon in sweltering heat. Starting at 10 would be perfect!

As always, Michael Franti delivered. The entire event pretty much felt like a small private show at Red Rocks--AMAZING. On the other hand the yoga left much to be desired. The instructor had a kitschy, cheerleader take to her teaching style --not my cup of tea. There was no structure to the class, it seemed like she just picked any pose. There was no official ending to the class. My body felt out of whack all day. This event was phenomenal for the simple fact that I was able to hear Franti with an intimate crowd, I could've done without the obnoxious yoga "instructor".

Aside from the music, it's the energy and the pure love of sharing the music with the audience that makes Michael Franti and Spearhead a complete joy to see. It was an overall amazing show. It was really fun that it was on the beach at Mandalay Bay. They gave out beach balls for people to toss around. Michael Franti has amazing energy and had a full set list. I think he played for about 2 hours, which was astonishing for an artist today. His show is clean and family oriented. He actually brought all the kids on stage for his last song, Hey I Love You. He is supportive of kid charities and mentioned one of them while on stage. I have been to many great shows in my 37 years including Tom Petty, Crosby Stills Nash & young, Paul simon, Widespread panic, & the list goes on but none can compare to Michael Franti. Fans know Michael is passionate about what he does we are connected through his music. For me his music touches a place deep inside my soul but seeing him live I really felt connected! Michael is such a charismatic entertainer none of us could help but be in the moment dancing amongst the celebration of his beautiful & heartfelt music. But the best part of all Michael was out there in the crowd celebrating with us. Like a magician he was on the stage one moment and then out in the crowd the next singing and dancing with us, his fans. It takes alot of trust & a very down to earth human being to come out into a crowd of 10,000 people. Not Only did he venture out into the crowd and up & down the steps during his performance, afterwords he came into the audience embracing people, shaking hands & talking. If you have never been to one of his shows check it out next time you get the chance, you will be in for a treat & a huge celebration of the human family! Michael you are definitely a Human Being!

This was a great show at an amazing venue. If you have not been to Redrocks-you need to see it at least once in your lifetime. This was our kid's first experience there and was unforgettable! Michael made his way through the crowd more than once and was close enough to touch. My kids had a great time and left with great memories. I've always enjoyed Franti's music, but after seeing him at Red Rocks in the 2nd row, I must say I have turned into a huge fan! He is incredibly soulful and he has great energy, not to mention he is waaay sexi sexi. He clearly does not take on the role of a snooty celebrity musician...he seems to be a big fan of his fans, adding many personal touches during the course of his show. Most of the songs he played I was not familiar with, but that didn't stop me from dancing the entire night. Everyone in the band had great stage presence and everything combined together made for a night I will never forget. Probably one of the very best shows I have ever seen.

Michael Franti is the most energetic person you could ever see. From the beginning of the show all the way until the end, his shouts of how you feeling, make some noise, put your hands in the air, and I want to see everybody jumping kept the crowd into it the whole show. There was plenty of dancing, lots of great energy, and a positive vibe all night. He even got into the crowd to sing. Also, it's hard to have a terrible show at Red Rocks. Michael, Gets your hands up, and get you Jumping, you cant help but move your hips and show a peace sign, been going for many years to his shows here in San Freakcisco. Power to the Peaceful is also a unforgettable event, and should not be missed. Socially conscious, his words speak volumes about love, peace, this beautiful planet, bringing our children out of war, poverty, and loving them. Spearhead, this whole band is amazing, hits home, with its Reggae beat, I like my Bass Loudy Loudy Michael chimes out, and Carl delivers, met Manas last night, what a nice guy, and the drum hits a chord, known Dave Shul for a while, since 80;s still rocking out his guitar... , and new guitarist was really good, wonderful back up vocals, and Michael getting the children up on stage playing with is a great touch...Should check out the whole experience for yourself. 9/11 Power To The Peaceful, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. Free/Donations, and check out dates in your area, where they might be playing ;D

Michael Franti and Spearhead put on the most amazing show. It is a concert full of , driving beats, soulful lyrics and positive messages. Michael moves through the crowd so no matter where you sit you get some up close and personal interaction. Pier 6 in Baltimore is an excellent venue as well. The Wailers were amazing as always. If this show comes anywhere close to where you live - go see it. You won't be disappointed!

I went to this show with high expectations and heard great things about this show. So, for me to walk away with the feeling that I just witnessed something special speaks volumes to what kind of show I got to see. Michael Franti has discovered something with his music that vary few have ever accomplished. I truly can not wait to see him and his band again. I am also counting the days until I can get his new album. One more thing, watching him perform was such a breath of fresh air, it is rewarding to see a musician having this much fun. The entire band seemed to have just as much fun performing as I did listening and watching.

Michael Franti is one of the most amazing and talented musicians today. Hi lyrics of peace and love and brotherhood make you walk away a better person if you pay attention. The energy of his show will keep you on your feet jumping up and down and screaming for more! If more people thought like Michael Franti, the world would be a better place!

This was a very intimate setting that they chose at Stephen's Auditorium. There was definitely mysticism in the air at this show. I absolutely loved it. Franti & Spearhead put on a captivating performance. They were very much in touch with the crowd. I can recall several times where multiple people were pulled on stage to become a part of the experience. I would love to see them play again, and I recommend that anyone who has a chance to see this awesome display should take the opportunity to. If you don't get to see them play than you are missing out.

The passion, the energy, the love for music and people and a better world just spilled over from this phenomenal icon of spirituality. You could feel the music soar through your soul as your body responded with every beat. So wonderfully genuine.

WARNING: This review is written by a very dedicated fan of Spearhead. I think this was my 10th Spearhead show since I first heard them in 2006. After one listen I was hooked and have listened daily since. The energy in the recorded music is beautifully expressed, but the pure joy of the true essence of Spearhead is in their live events. This was perhaps the best show I have seen yet. Michael had been hospitalized in late July, but aside from more seated songs than in the past, you would never know. His energy was of a level that is difficult to keep up with and is matched by the talented musicians that make up the rest of the band. He spoke briefly about the experience and seemed very humbled by having been so ill and recovered. Every musican played and sang to the limits of human capacity. Highlights were a beautiful 'Sometimes', the driving rhythm of 'Yell Fire', a sensitive and thought-provoking 'Hey World (Don't Give Up version), an inspiring 'I Know I'm Not Alone' and a fun and surprising 'Say Hey (I Love You)'. For the last, Michael has been 'teaching' the audience to sing the song but at this show, everyone sang the first two lines with no prompting which seemed to delight him. It is their first 'Top 40' hit after 15 years of playing music together. I could write volumes in praise of this band all night long. If you listen at their website and like what you hear, get yourself a ticket when they come to a town near you.

Michael Franti and Spearhead brought their full supply of energy to the show on Sunday night. From the start, with Cherine Anderson warming up the crowd, the fans were there to jump and dance. Once Michael and the band hit the stage, it was turned up to 11. There were many intense momoents where the group energy was about to lift the roof off the theater. Just when Michael had everyone primed, the acoustics and stools came out and let everyone cool down a little. There was a great mix of material from the last couple albums and a few newer songs. The encore of Everybody Ona Move > Yell Fire > Say Hey (I Love You) was the perfect capper. Michael announced before the final song that it was the first time in Spearhead's 15 year history that they had a Top 40 song. Say Hey debuted at 32 last week and is 26 this week. The band put on a great show and the venue was great too. We brought our 2 tween boys and they were surprised to see how many other kids were there. We will definitely catch these guys again whenever we can.

Michael Franti knows how to have a party. His concerts are high-energy and fulfilling right down to the last note. He connects with his audience and engages young and old alike. It is so refreshing to see him come into the crowd and share his energy up close and personal. He writes meaningful lyrics and sings with such heart. Can't wait to see him the next time he passes through.

I attended both the private show on Friday and the concert on Saturday both at Mandalay Bay Hotel. Each one was amazing in its own right. In additon, Micheal is a man of the folks- laid back and more than eager to hang with his fans. Truely awesome weekend!!!

Show was below average for MF and Spearhead. The Spearhead guys are definitely attempting to grab more spotlight...which is okay, I guess.

I had no idea what to expect as I have just recently heard his music and become a fan. I'm 61 years old and his concert (I've seen a bunch over the course of a lifetime) was by far the most fun, engaging, and entertaining that I have seen. The small venue, of course, was perfect for him to interplay with and actually go down into the crowd. Having kids come on stage for the finale was awesome. Cool guy, cool music, cool venue=a great evening. Thank you, Michael and your young guitarist. He celebrated his birthday yesterday and was one of the best parts of the show. The acoustic set to open was a nice bit. The drummer's new song was excellent.

I have seen Michael Franti with and without Spearhead several times and he never fails to leave you feeling good, feeling better about your fellow man and giving all he's got during his shows. Last night was no exception, I danced all night BUT the sound was simply awful. Not sure if it was the fault of the Tabernacle or his sound guy(s) or both, but it never sounded good and reverberated the entire night. They make great music and last night there was no way to know that....but he gave it all, as they all did, anyway. Love him, his music and his message. Thank you.
