The start was a bit slow. It was very historical. I would have liked more dance and theatrics in the beginning.

I bought tickets for my Mom for her birthday and later found out that my brother & his wife had tickets also. We met for super before and were all looking forward to seeing Titanic. To sumerize: 1. it had a slow start 2. you could NOT understand most of what was being sung.... mostly due in part to the songs being too "wordy" and the other part in the actor's poor accents. It's like the writer crammed way too much story into each song. 2 acts, 10 scenes per act, 3-4 songs per scene and very little spoken dialog. Yes I know it's a musical but more dialog would have been helpful. 3. Granted, I was not expecting a huge Titanic set, but one catwalk and stairs was the whole set. I think they did a desent job with what they had though. Costumes were ok but pretty generic. 4. When the cast sang individually, they sounded good (pitch, tone, etc..) but as a group they sounded a little off at times. My brother and his wife left after 30-40 minutes into it and my Mom & me lasted to the end of the 1st Act. I have been to many musicals and would definitly rate this one at the bottom. I have never left out of a show early and once we did leave, there were MANY (like 100 or so) others leaving too. I spoke to a lady while we were walking and she said the same thing.... couldn't understand what they were saying and it was boring.

Titanic was very professionally done! The singing was incredible. I was fascinated by how they made scenes work with a huge ship and how they made the sinking ship work.

Totally amazed by vocal performances! This is local? They have "national" talent in this show. The story is compelling and entertaining, the music is gorgeous, and the time flies by... can't believe it's 2 hours long, seems like one. If you like choral singing, go see this show. I litterally got chills when they had 60 people on stage singing Godspeed Titanic. Highly recommend this show!

We expected a musical take on the recent movie. Mid-way throught the opening, we were disappointment to learn it wasn't.... no rose, no jack. By the boiler scene, we no longer cared. A few week acting moments, but the large ensemble songs more than made up for it. The show, while not yet to the level of a touring Broadway show, was very well executed with some noteworthy talent. Some technical issues with sound were distracting, but in a city of 10,000 theaters - they did a great job. The show moved quickly (better than the 3 hour movie) and was worth the $20 tickets.

Titanic was really good, although I was a little surprised that the romance between Rose and jack was not portrayed at all. And I was missing the unsinkable Molly Brown. I feel all three characters would have made a good show even better. I enjoed the music, set and costumes. Cast members had wonderful, powerful voices. Very enjoyable

My sister and I went to see titanic last night. Being an avid lover of musicals, theater, and dance we try to see as many shows as we can. I wasnt sure what to expect, but was pleasantly suprised by the amazing talent of the whole cast. This was a wonderful performance. I loved it!!!!! Javier you have an amazing voice, the proposal song is the whole reason I wanted to see this show and I think you might have even sang it better than the original. Other than a few tech issues with the sound and microphones and a couple staging issues I would say this was a wonderful show and I would definately go see it again!!!

I mainly went to this Titanic The Musical because my 21 year old daughter is so into Titanic. I must admit, it held my interest and was really very good. All in all, a very pleasant evening spent with my daughter watching this musical. Not rushed, parking was available, no crowds. It was wonderful.

I wasn't expecting the movie, nor was I expecting the soundtrack, or the lead characters from the movie. I was expecting energy, smooth technical support and a feeling that the cast wasn't going through the motions. This was perhaps the most disappointing Broadway show I have been to at the Milwaukee Theater. Some of the characters were fine. Most seemed like they couldn't wait to be done. Actor microphones were late being cued, and at times it was difficult to hear them. I felt a bit hoodwinked. This show premiered in the late '90's and I'm sure the revival was tied into the thinking that since the movie was re-released recently in 3D there would be interest. Only 15 years old, the production felt spartan. I was disappointed. Not a good value for the money spent, to be honest. I could have spent less seeing this in New York buying tickets through TKTS and am sure would have had a better experience.

Unfortunately, "Titanic, the Musical" was not worth the time or money I spent on it. My sisters and I left at intermission. The music was dull. The actors portrayed too many parts. There were problems with microphones. It is hard to believe it ever won a Tony award.

This appeared to be a very 'B' rate production. The audio was terrible. Between the bad accents and the poor audio, it was very hard to understand most of the performance. The audio actually crackled at times. The actual storyline was fine. But they did drag out some of it. We would get the point of what was happening, and they just kept going with it. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Considering this was a Tony Award winning musical, it was nothing spectacular. Main set never changed, costumes were drab, no real additional storyline to hold your interest. Literally just touched the surface of the Titanic story. I fought to stay awake most of the time. I've seen better musicals in high schools.

I wanted to like it it but the numerous flaws sound production was distracting. The microphone kept going in and out and even squealing. A few more moments of humor would have helped with the inevitable outcome. I see many productions and this was the most amateur I have ever seen. Great effort by the cast

The actors did an amazing job. Their characters were consistent; their singing was superb. Characters who I felt did exceptionally well included second-class passenger Mrs. Beane; Thomas Andrews, ship designer; Harold Bride, radioman; Captain Smith; First Officer Murdoch; the first class steward, and the Kates. There were so many memorable moments including the Kates song, Alex Arroyo's characterizations of the radioman and his song, Geoff Karnish as the tentative first officer with his song of being a captain and his later guilt-riddled portrayal of one who can't quite acccept what has happened. The first class steward was adept at both the comical and dramatic aspects of his role. I hated Ismay, so Chance Blakely handled the unpleasant role with the contempt that was needed. The ensemble were all fantastic in their protrayals and their songs were all beautifully done.

Somehow I missed Titanic The Musical when it was new. It is a moving chronicle of the fate of the Titanic and the doomed souls on board. Although Saturday evenings performance was plagued with sound problems, the talented cast carried me into the world of the crew and the passengers aboard the ship. Beautiful music beautifully sung. Lovely costumes. And actors who convincingly undertook to play several roles, creating the different characters. Kudos!

This remarkable production which technically was a reading but in reality a nearly fully staged show, brought the house down with its remarkable cast (no better group of voices on Broadway or anywhere) and fabulous staging by director Calvin Remsberg. I'm a theatre buff with high standards and really, you don't get better than this. The Musical Theatre Guild knocked it out of the park with this one. They should definitely run these more than two performances.

Every single member of the cast gave a flawless performance ! The singers/actors were exceptional; every single one of them is so talented. Beautiful voices blending in perfect harmonies. Their acting painted the images so vividly; no sets; no costumes needed. I saw the Titanic and pictures of each of the passengers and crew linger in my memory.. The musicians were equally talented and their performance was filled with drama and emotion. Awesome players! I so enjoyed the pianist's playing and how beautifully she conducted the ensemble. I am looking forward to attending future performances:)

Saw Titanic the Musical and was very pleased. The show was premiering in Barnegate New Jersey for a national tour. The music , performers, sets and plot were great. I didn't know how they would pull of this tragic event while singing but it makes total sense when you see the show. I will be very excited to see this show when it tours the country this fall.

I found myself totally involved with the families/persons stories. Even thought we all knew we couldn't change the ending. I was very good visually, Lighting was outstanding, you really felt the ship was going down. But I still found the story hopeful.

From the very start when the music began and the cast starting loading on board the ship, I knew this was going to be a great show. The large cast was wonderful in making for the feel of excitement on a grand ship. The acting, musical scores and songs were fantastic -- it was a wonderful play -- yes, even if you know how it ends.....

I went to this show with an open mind.. I was interested to see how they could make such a serious story a musical. I'm really glad I didn't wait for a professional production; I already felt like I overpaid for this one. I hate to use the word terrible but I was incredibly bored from beginning to end. I actually considered leaving during intermission. The writing of the music was bad enough but I thought the staging was lazy and repetitive. I've seen better work from Randell Day. The cast talent was very mixed (both singing and acting ability), which wasn't bad- it was a good number of people and a powerful chorus sound, but in certain songs I either couldn't hear the women at all (mic issues) or all I could hear was soprano vibrato bashing against one another... a deafening sign of untrained voices. I was impressed with the men's chorus as well as the Kate trio. Overall, the full cast sounded alright but I couldn't understand a word. I'm not sure if diction or sound balance is to blame. On a better note, the set looked good, the orchestra sounded good, and quite a few actors picked up the slack from the obvious amateurs. One person who really stood out was Javier Ferreira. He was amazing in every aspect from vocal talent to stage presence. If I had the power I'd hire him on Broadway. I would definitely pay to hear him sing again, just not in this particular show. In a nutshell, if you enjoy the works of Maury Yeston, Second Stage did a pretty good job for what they had to work with (still overpriced). But if you enjoy GOOD musicals, go see something else.

Titanic was a musical I had never heard of - just thought it would be a remake of the movie. Wow! The storyline, true factual information, and the spectacular cast of singers made this one of the most enjoyable theater experiences I have ever had. I prefer the quality of this show more than the Chanhassen. The Chanhassen is overpriced for the quality of their shows at times. The director and cast of Titanic need to be commended for such a high quality performance. Hopefully there are many more to come. I will be in attendance for future shows because of this performance.

I have to admit, when I agreed to go see a community theater musical, I had relatively low expectations - I tend to head to the Guthrie, Orpheum or Ordway. But this production was fantastic - the major characters all had phenomenal voices and clearly knew how to use them, the acting was believable, and I got sucked right into the story and the production because the cast was SO good. The orchestra was fantastic as well, and the set design was absolutely incredible. I very highly recommend that anyone who has any interest in the history of the ship or in musicals in general go check out this production on its last night. (By the way - it is not related to the movie with Jack and Rose - it's probably more historically accurate, but there are several very interesting story-lines surrounding first, second, and third class passengers, and those who worked on the ship.)

I'd never heard of this show before this year. It is now one of my favorites. This is a summer community theater program of very high caliber. While some of the minor actors come across as a little green, the overall talent on the stage is comparable to what I've seen on a professional stage. Apart from some minor tech issues that were quickly resolved, the show is a powerful moving portrayal of the event, the music is exhilarating and haunting, and the characters engaging. You can't help but get drawn in emotionally, knowing the fate that awaits. This is not the Jack and Rose story... I'm not one of those that was expecting this to be a musical adaption of the movie and I'm very glad it was not. Most notable performances were by those playing the Captain, Andrews, Alice Beane, and Frederick Barrett. The chorus as a whole was amazing... what powerful voices. It gave me chills during the opening number and finale. I got all choked up as Bride sang a reprise of Barrett's song at the end, and I heard a few sniffles from people sitting around and behind me. When a production can elicit such an emotional response... well, its success almost goes without saying. But I will anyway. Beautiful. This theater program is one that we residents of the south metro Twin Cities are very lucky to have. To get this kind of quality production for a minimal ticket price... I will anxiously look forward to hearing what shows they produce in the future.

We've been interested in the Titanic for about a decade; reading about it and its sister ships' history, exhibits, documentaries, movies...When I heard a musical was coming to town about the Titanic, I was curious how it would be as a musical. Well, it was awesome! The singing was phenominal, the verbado fantastic...even got goosebumps. The orchestra, too, not only very, very good in itself, but even better because it didn't drowned out the singers, even the soloists. The profiles of the performers, etc. was a very nice touch. Amazing that there were so many high school artists, both actors and muscians. It made for an even nicer experience the second half :)

Very well done. Loved the set with the turning sides stages. Those were very innovative. The cast was excellent! Super voices -- stand outs were Andrews, the dark haired stoker, the 2nd class woman passenger who wanted to rub elbows with 1st class, and the main "Kate" who was pregnant. I loved this play!
