This was an amazing show! Right from the start! I hope they do it again and next time around advertise it outside of the Q105 listening audience as well. I had friends that told me they just heard about it only a day ahead of time! Try Creative Loafing!

I have never seen Ms.Gaynor perform prior to this event. Of course being in my late 40's, I was familiar with all of her recordings, especially the disco classics. Ms. Gaynor is a class act, she is poised, elegant and she was looking quite stunning. She certainly has aged nicely like a fine wine. Her voice, as with most of the others of that period, is a little deeper, but definately recognizable as her own. She performed some of her outstanding hits such as 'Never Can Say Goodbye', "I Am What I Am' and of course closed with "I Will Survive'. She also did a nice rendition of "The Way We Were' and a nice uptempo bluesy version of 'Every Breath You Take', among others. Her background singers were funny, charming and great, as were the band members. Miss Gaynor, while I don't consider a concert stadium/hall type of single performer (let's say like Donna Summer), this was the perfect type of setting for her show...warm and intimate. The place was packed and therefore uncomfortable seating and moving around, that would be the only negative about the evening.

The Village People were good...........okay, but I think they sang too many tunes. We were waiting and waiting for Gloria. I wonder how many were original Village People. We all really went to see Gloria. She was stupendous and personable. The band was very very good with especially fantastic talent on the sax and trumpet.

This was a fantastic show -- which started right on time -- in an equally charming venue (The Keswick Theater) in an equally charming town (Glenside, Pa.). The Village People warmed up the crowd and kept them on their feet for Gloria Gaynor, who dazzled my ears with an even better voice than 30 years ago. She truly is an amazing singer. I enjoyed how she gave her backup singers (truly amazing vocalists in their own rite) a chance to show off their skills. Thank you for an amazingly entertaining evening!

We booked this only a few days before a family trip to New York with our grown up son and daughter (18 and 21 years old), with contrasting musical tastes, who were politely dubious I think about it (eyebrows were raised indulgently) and I wondered if it might have been a mistake given that it is about 30 years or so since her heyday and it was a small venue, tickets were easy to get (ours were numbered 21-24 - unallocated seating) relatively cheap compared to Broadway shows in the area and other big gigs I'd say. So I thought maybe we were going to see a hasbeen. No way - the whole show was wonderful from start to finish. The atmosphere on stage and in the audience was great from the word go. The band were all great musicians and clearly having a great time (bass, guitar, keyboards, drums, 3 backing singers and a 3 piece brass section). Gloria Gaynor sings brilliantly and comes across as a great entertainer, very likeable and with her feet on the ground. Very happy to share the stage and attention with the band - duets with backing singers and opportunities for others to take the lead particularly the backing singers but also the trombone player who looked an unassuming chap in glasses but who turned out to be a great singer and wildly energetic performer (words cannot describe his rendition of Pharell Williams' "Happy"). All four of us had the most fantastic night and I think certainly for me and my daughter it was the highlight of our New York trip. Will stand out as one of the best gigs (if not best?) I've been to. seats were not allocated as this was a bar and diner (B B Kings no less) but we were advised that doors opened 90 minutes before start time and seats allocated on a first come first served basis. Our experience of this made us think that there would be a scrum, but no - there was an orderly queue and we we were admitted in small groups and shown to a table. The venue is such that it didn't seem like anywhere would have been too far away or difficult to see. I liked the caberet style of seating, something I've not really done before.

Brilliant ! I always go to BB's once when in New York, and this was probably the best yet. I love the 70's-80's Motown & Blues so this was always going to be high on the list of expectations. Well she didn't disappoint, the band were spectacular and she was truly stunning. She had the whole house up and chanting with her top hits and various covers. She managed to re-invent the original club Disco feel complete with glitter ball. BBKings are always good at putting on a great show with a party atmosphere in a Classical New York setting.

I guess I was expecting to be transformed back into Disco glory but was disappointed. Gloria's voice was Ok .... which can be expected with age. I didn't want to hear her cover everyone else's hits...especially Donna Summers'. There was too much emphasis on her band and back-up singers. The gospel song in the middle of the set was out of place. This was my first time at B.B. King. Food was bad. Service was ok. It was all about packing people in...the sight lines for many were poor.

Have to say my favorite act was Lime, however all the other acts were amazing and fun. The music of the evening brought back many fond memories of my youth. Martha Wash was amazing as well as Gloria Gaynor. For Disco fans, a must see!

A dance down memory lane! Carol Douglas was good, Lime, amazing, sounded just like the original members, and he is so sexy! Franzjolie was absolutely sensational, her voice has not changed one bit...she did an amazing version of Allelulia,! Martha Wash was also terrific, she sang my favorite of her songs, it's raining men, the whole stadium was rocking! The Temptations were good, it was sad to see that the years have not been so easy on them, but they were good...and then Gloria Gaynor came on stage, what a voice...she never missed a beat! She did a beautiful tribute to Donna Summer, and of course lots of her hits including I will survive, one of my personal fav's..so overall, a great night out with friends, and hope they do it again soon!

Was disappointed to see that the venue was not sold out and found out that we could have gotten reduced tickets the day of the show. We sat in the balcony and the ushers would not let anyone move down to the many empty seats to get closer to watch the show. I don't feel that this show was worth the $85.00 ticket price. The radio station didn't have anything going on for the people standing outside, there should have been some type of New Years hats, noisemakers, etc given out at the end of the show. We went to watch the fireworks and couldn't really see because of the palm trees and the ushers finally dropped down the velvet rope so we could go to the center of the patio to see the fireworks. I realize this is the first event there and there is some work to do. The venue is BEAUTIFUL!!! and the employees were very NICE.

We had three couples for this event. All three said we would go again. To have the pre and post party dancing in addition to the concert made the evening since we are all dancers. Maxine was the BEST. Sister Sledge was excellent except for the one slow number that the lead singer did. As good as the number was it pult a small halt to the up-beat of the evening. Gloria was good but definitely not better than Maxine. Things that would add to the evening: more party hats and horns, appetizers or other munchies available for purchase, and definitely some way to let the crowd know that it was midnight. All of us standing outside for the fireworks kept asking each other what time it was. Even a loudspeaker announcing the countdown would have helped. Lastly, it would have been helpful to be told going in that we would need our tickets again after the fireworks to get back in to the post party. I almost tossed our tickets once we got inside initially but luckily my husband stopped me.

Maxine Nightingale was a great beginning and energized the audience. However, 'Sisters Sledge'--or better said their proxy overdid it and lost the audience. Gloria did a good job of regaining some of the atmosphere. The Mahaffey's acostics were not geared for the volume of the acts and the sound was at times distorted. The most disappointment was the absence of more 'Disco' music. Really felt short changed. The DJ in the lobby did a better job. Would have been more satisfied listening and dancing to what he was doing all night instead of the staged program. And lastly, I paid too much for tickets!!! $ 125.00 a person!!

Maxine Nightingale was the hit of the night. I felt that Gloria Gaynor had lost her energy. But...I felt that Mahaffey did a great job for the evening. I would definitely come back again! It was also nice that the workers of the Mahaffey asked us to come down from the balcony, since there was plenty of room.

It was a blast from my most favorite past!! The best artist of the night was definitely Maxine Nightingale!!! She sounded the same as she did 30 years ago! The audience came to hear the songs of our disco era and she delivered it just the way it sounded and was 30 years ago!!! Sister Sledge started out off key on the original disco songs and sang the new songs and let the band play individually, but this is not what we came to hear. Gloria Gaynor sang mostly new songs and duets, which we did not want to hear. We wanted to hear back in the day disco songs all night! So, Maxine won the best performance of the night!! When she was onstage the house were all out of their chairs dancing!!!

Great show. Good music. Good pre-party. Perhaps next year could encourage people to attend in "70s" outfits. That could be even more fun and entertaining.

We had a great time on New Years Eve... The event was well worth going to... The only issue was with the on stage talent... Maxine Nightingale was great... She should have been your featured act... Gaynor and Sledge were old and boring... I will return next year if the entertainment is stepped up...

Maxine nightingale and Gloria gaynor was great. They had the crowd on their feet and really enjoying the night. Their voices were strong and the band was great. However, sister sledge almost killed the event by their song choices. Almost everyone was falling asleep and wondering " what the heck is going on here". They were the act in between Maxine and Gloria. If they do this next year, the line up must be different. Get K.C and the sunshine band in. Thank you Maxine and Gloria. You saved the night!!!

Awesome! Fun! Super well organized! We stayed at the Hilton which made access to the venue super easy. The most exciting perfomer was Maxine! She was dynamic and a perfect way to start the show. She got the crowd enthused and most people standing and dancing and singing. The sisters....not so much. Too much time spent letting each band member do their thing...not enough well known 70's songs....alot of the audience members left the theater at that point. Gloria was good....she wll survive. She was cool. My suggestion is that the organizers and performers stay with 70's disco music. There was plenty of it. Seeing the fireworks was a perfect punctuation to the evening.

What an awesome time!!! Maxine Nightingale really got the night pumped up and started. She had everyone dancing in the aisles!!! If getting on stage and dancing with Sister Sledge "He's the Greatest Dancer" qualifies as a good time then I had it!! Gloria Gaynor rocked the evening by having everyone sing along to "I will survive" to close the show. It was a fantastic evening!!
